Chapter 10 - Family

"Luna" I say shocked. Luna comes dashing towards me, her adorable smile, big beautiful brown eyes and that mesmerizing light pink hair, like her fathers. Every single day, she reminders me more and more of Natsu.

FLASH BACK

3 weeks have  passed since leaving Fairy Tail. While me and Laxus were traveling from town to town, trying to get as far away from Fairy Tail as we could. We ran into a little bit of trouble. We were problem 30 minutes away from the next town, when I started to feel a little woozy. Laxus was walking out in front off me and I could feel my body slowly become weak. It was odd, because just an hour ago, I was feeling so energized.

My body suddenly felt heavy, I started to fumble, but quickly regain my balance, "La-" "Lucy. Stay back." Laxus warns, with his back still to me and his arm stretched out. I stop, but I collapse to my knees. Something was wrong, my body was swaying from side to side. What is wrong with me. I stare blankly down at the dirt road, I can hear Laxus shouting, but for some reason I just couldn't make out what it was. All of a sudden I feel someone strongly grip the side of my shoulders. With all my strength I left my head.

"Lax.....us" A pathetic weak cry seeped out of my mouth. He looked at me so worried and confused. "I don't feel so good." I wince.

All of a sudden I hear what sounded like a stampede surrounding us. Tilted my head to the side, so I was able to see over Laxus's shoulder. A bunch of bandits were standing in front with a smug, prevy look. Then I looked around us to see even more of them.  "She is quite pretty, isn't she boys. We could have a lot of fun with that one. Don't you think?" One of the creepy bandits laughed, as he licked his dry lips. All his deadbeat followers howled and egged him on. I flinched.

That was when something in Laxus shifted. His whole demeanor changed, and I have seen him like this enough to know what was in store. It actually sent a chilling shiver down my spine. He removed his hands from the sides of my shoulder and even removed his coat and draped it over me. With a crooked smile, he dropped his gaze and got back up on to his feet.

"I'll protect you Lucy." Laxus declared, as lighting surged around his body. His spiritual pressure was something else, it was absolutely amazing, with every passing second it grew. Just the sound of it crackling was enough to intimidate those low lives. But just when I see Laxus lunge towards the one of them I blacked out.

TIME SKIP (6hours passed)

When I finally awoke, I stared blankly towards the ceiling, . "You're finally awake." I slowly turn my head to the direction I heard Laxus's husky voice. He was leaning back in his chair arms crossed, eyes closed and not even looking at me.

"Where am I?" I asked, as my memory was still gorgy. "The hospital." Laxus answered.

"What happened?" I questioned, as I had no idea what happened after.. "Wait, are you okay?" I quickly sit up,  but I let out a yelp, a sharp searing pain was coming from my stomach. "Ahh" I wince.

In an instant I hear a chair screech along the ground. "You idiot!" Laxus scolds, as he rushes to my side. "Like some bandits can real defeat me." Laxus scuffs.

I also chuckle to myself, as I knew that was true and I was worrying for nothing. "You should be taking it easy. If not for yourself, then for you baby." Laxus blurts out so effortlessly. I look at him in complete shock. At first I was second guessing if what I just heard right now was true. Laxus... did he just say baby? My body was tensing. "Your baby girl, is still alive Lucy" Laxus places his arm around me. My ears did hear it correctly...right...

"Baby?" I mumble. I was in utter disbelief, I lost my baby. "But.....I..." "The doctor did some tests and told me thinking I was the father." Laxus explained. "You're lying.... My baby died." I shook my head. My mind was going insane. I can feel the tears welling up.

"How.... is this?" I chocked on my words. "There was a mix up with your files and another lady. You both were dealing with the same ordeal and there were so many similarities. Causing one of the new nurses to fill out your forms incorrectly, with the information provided from the other ladies medical notes. So your baby......Is alive and healthy." Laxus says.

I snap my eyes to my belly. All this time, you were still swimming around in there. A couldn't contain my tears, my heart was beating so fast. I'm so happy. Then I hear a knock at the door, I lift my head to see the doctor come in. He stood at the base of the bed.

"Hi Miss Heartfilia." The doctor greeted. I just nodded back. "On behalf of all the doctors and nurses. I would like to apologize for causing you stress and for the mix up. When the other hospital discovered what had happened, they went to your place, but the landlord told us that you had moved out. So we had no other way to contact you." The doctor bowing, as he apologized.

I wiped my tears away. "I'm just happy my baby is alive. Thank you"

My journey from this point has been a struggle, but right now none of that matters, I'm just so happy, I'm so relieved, more tears trailing down my face.

END FLASH BACK

"Mummy! Mummy! Me and daddy got you something." Luna cheerfully says, clinging to my leg. I look at the door Laxus still hasn't come inside yet. Confused. "Sweetie, where is daddy?" I ask.

"Daddy, is waiting outside. Hurry mummy." Luna lets go of my leg, taking ahold of my hand, and began to drag me outside. She was so excited and full of energy, It actually made me chuckle to myself.

As we made our way outside, I see Laxus standing there holding something behind his back. Luna then lets go and skips to Laxus's side. She tugged on his coat. "Hurry daddy!" Luna tries to whisper.

I smile, and look at Laxus. "What is it? Should I be worried?" I joked. Laxus then suddenly got down on one knee, and revealed what he was hiding behind his back. A small black box.

My eyes widen, my body tensing and my heart feels like it could stop any moment now. Laxus slowly opened the box and a beautiful simple silver diamond ring was sitting in front of me. I was in shock, I threw my hands up to cover my mouth.

"Lucy, amidst thousands of people, the moment I laid my eyes upon you, something in my changed. The way you looked a me,  the way you smiled, the way you never let anything drag you down. Made me fall in love with you. You may not be as strong as Erza or as refined like Mira." "Hey" I pouted, interrupting him. Laxus just chuckled "Sorry... But what you have is heart. You are fragile, and you are not afraid to show it. I held in my feeling for you for so long, because you were in love with him. But none of that is important right now. You have given me so much, you made me a dad, ad I love our beautiful girl more than anything. It was hard for you to let go of him at first but you still decided to give me a chance. I'm not good a expressing my feelings I know. But I love you Lucy Heartfilia. Please will you marry me?" Laxus proposes. His face is so red right now and  know this is so embarrassing for him.

I decided many years ago, that I would give him my heart and he promised he would never break it. He makes me feel at ease, I feel secure in his arms, he accepted Luna as his own daughter, no questioned asks. With him here, everything has been full of many happy memories, I mean at times we bicker, which is a given.

"Mummy hurry up. Daddy's waiting." Luna jumping round.

I get down on my knees and cup Laxus's face in my hand. "Yes!" I say, repeating it over and over again, as  I pulled him into a kiss.

Suddenly I feel a little arm wrap around me. "Mummy and daddy are getting married." Luna cheered. We both pulled out of the kiss and looked at Luna. Now we will be one big happy family.

A/N

I understand that the name of Lucy and Nastu's baby girl is Nashi. But I personally like the name Luna, because of the ship name is Nalu. Some may disagree with me. but yeah. Hope you enjoy this chapter.
