Cliffhangers are a good idea, but don't overdo them, especially if you know you might take time to upload the next chapter.

Just because you have a successful fanfiction, it does NOT mean that you write sequels to it.

Harry Potter fanfiction writers: the above rule especially applies to you if you feel like inserting your random-ass OCs into Hogwarts.

Rankings in the fanfiction section literally do not matter. Do not let those get you down.
