Fifty Six

Get someone to critique your work. It's the only way you'll find out if you're doing well. Focus on plot, characters and grammar. SERIOUSLY, GRAMMAR IS IMPORTANT.

Alarm-clock openings are terrible, especially if they are followed by looking in the mirror for description of the protagonist's beauty before the first day of school.

You don't have to be an outcast or the very popular person. Be normal. That's it. Strike a balance.

I cannot emphasise this enough: read good fanfiction.

Mix up different genres. Do action and comedy together, or romance and spiritual. The wider your variety is, the more likely you are to appeal to readers and come off as unique.
