Chapter twenty

"His brother jumped from it"

"Sorry?" I question so confused

"Thats why he was even there that night, it was the one year anniversary of his brothers death"

"Oh my god, I never knew, I've been such a dick to him, I thought he was pretending to care, I—"

"He was a dick to you as well, but he didn't want to see what happened to his brother happen to someone else"

"He might have this tuff act, but you're truly the only girl he has paid this most attention to, ever" He tells me

"I don't know what to do anymore" I groan burying my face into my hands

"We can do it together"

"Why?" I blurt out

"Why?" He scoffs laughing

"I've grown to become quite fond of you, Haerin" He smiles

"So, how about I talk to Ni-Ki and you can sort out him" I follow his eyes to a certain pink haired boy who's face is currently buried into some girls neck

"He's actually disgusting" I scoff with a small giggle

"You can go stop that yourself" He stands up, giggling as well

"Jake!" A girl runs up and wraps her arms around Jake's neck

"Hey, this is Haerin" He introduces me to the girl

"Haerin, this is my girlfriend, Ha-Yeon"

"Hi" I slightly smile and do a small wave nervously

"You are like so pretty" She compliments

"Thank you" I reply flustered

"You are gorgeous"

"Awk" She smiles and puts her hands on her chest

"Anyway, I'll see you later?" Jake speaks up

"Yeah" I nod in response

"Bye!" Ha-Yeon exclaims in a loving tone

"Bye" I smile at her and they begin to walk away

"Isn't she the one who kissed Ni-Ki and Heeseung?" I hear her ask Jake but I watch him as he gently smacks her shoulder and tells her to stop

I turn around and sigh, beginning to walk over to Heeseung

I tap his shoulder and he pulls away from the girl and glances at me for a second, but then he goes back to shoving his tongue down her throat

I tap again, "What do you want?" He groans

"We need to talk" I cross my arms, trying to seem dominant

"We can do that later" He goes back to kissing her

"I said we need to talk!" I exclaim and grab his arm, dragging him away from the girl

"I'll call you later!" He calls out to her as I drag him inside the auditorium and up onto the stage so he can't leave

"Are we performing?"

"Tell Ni-Ki the truth" I demand

"The truth?" He questions looking away from me

"That I never kissed you!" I yell

"Well I mean, it did take you a minute to push me back..."

"Heeseung I don't know what the hell your problem is, but you always manage to ruin everything!" I snap

"Me and Ni-Ki had something good and you just had to come in and ruin it, because you're what, horny?!"

"You put me down every single fucking day and I don't know what I did for you to hate me much"

"I mean yeah, I'll fucking admit it, you know more than literally everyone... oh wait never mind, you told Jake fucking everything!" I push him

"You promised me you wouldn't, and I was dumb enough to trust you on that!" I scoff

"And I know why you were on the rooftop that day" I accidentally admit

I'm not to sure if Jake wanted him to know that I know

"So I really don't get why you would do everything you can to destroy my life, since you don't directly know what it feels like, but you know what it looks like" My voice breaks once again

"I mean what did I ever do to you?" I start crying but this time I don't hide it from him

"You didn't do anything, that's the point" He sighs

"So what, you're just mad because I wouldn't sleep with you?"

"No, not that"

"You weren't doing anything to help yourself, and I thought that if I did whatever I did, it would make you finally be able to help yourself"

"What kinda fucking logic is that?!" I push him again

"I came here for a fresh start!" I push him again

"But you just had to ruin it!" I push him once again

"Didn't you?!" And again

"Why won't you answer me?!" This time his foot reaches the end and he slips, taking the curtain with him

I watch as he lands on the ground with a hard thump

"Oh my god!" I gasp and slap my hands to my mouth

"Did that feel good?" He groans out in pain as he tries to get up and gets tangled in the curtain in the process

"Maybe" I let out a slight giggle and jump down from the stage and grab his hand to help him up, untangling him from the curtain

"I'll tell Ni-Ki" He brushes off his clothes and a smile creeps up onto my face

"All I had to do was push you?"

"I now realise that my logic was the dumbest logic ever and I'm sorry"

"If you still want, I can still teach you how to fight, it seems you've gained a lot of strength" He chuckles looking at the curtain on the floor

"But yeah, I'll tell Ni-Ki the truth" He confirms again

"Thank you"

"Now that's the last argument we are ever having" I roll my eyes and pick up the curtain, he helps me

"Please let it be" He chuckles as we get into the stage and stare up at the ceiling, wondering how we are gonna get it back up there

"Should we leave it?" Heeseung suggests

"And let me get another detention, no thank you" I search for anything, hopefully a ladder

Suddenly the auditorium door opens and we both snap our eyes to it

It's Ni-Ki

"Ni-Ki, I—" I start to speak, but he cuts me off

"I don't care if you kissed" he says, stepping closer to us

"Heeseung, you're my best friend and Haerin..." He pauses" You're the first girl I ever really liked"

I hold my breath

"But I've realized... it's better if we don't date"

My heart sinks

"No..."

"I'm sorry," he says softly, "It was fun, and I really liked being with you but I don't think I'm ready, not now I need to focus on my career"

"I understand" I choke out, trying hard not to try again right now

"Just for the record, I kissed Haerin, I was caught up in the moment and I shouldn't have done that to you, she didn't kiss me back, she pushed me away" Heeseung admits

"That's okay" Ni-Ki nods

"Friends?" His eyes shift to me and I manage to nod at him

"Friends" I confirm, my vision already beginning to blur from the tears

"I'll see you two in class, carry on with whatever you are doing" He laughs and turns around to leave

"I'm glad we cleared everything up" And then he walks to the door and leaves, and I drop to the ground letting the tears fall

"Hey, it's okay" I feel Heeseung wrap his arms around me

"I really liked him" I cry into his chest as his hand runs through my hair

"Listen, everything is okay now, everything is cleared up and everything can go back to normal"

"I don't want it to" I admit lifting my head from his chest and noticing the wet spots

"I got tears of your shirt" I look up at him with cloudy vision

"That's the least of my problems" He laughs

"But listen, we are good, you are good, it's your first breakup, it'll be okay"

"You've never even went through a breakup, how much do you know?" I laugh at him

"Woah okay, rude much?"

"I watched Sunghoon and Jiwons" He admits with a shrug

"It was a shit show"

Okay so I needed a way for Ni-Ki and Haerin to be done, and it wanted it to end nicely

I defo would not have reacted like this if I was Ni-Ki
