Chapter nine

"You know I'm getting so fucking sick of you" Ha-eun slams my head into the wall and I groan, falling to the ground

"Giving Heeseung lifts home now?" She kicks my face and I feel the blood dripping from my nose

"It wasn't my fault" I choke out looking up at her

"I'm pretty sure it was your car? So I'm pretty sure it's your fucking fault" Another blow to the face

"P-please just stop" I hold my nose and the blood runs in between my fingers

"Well I told you to stop and you didn't, so why should I?" I brace myself for the slap, but it never comes

"Leave her" I see Ni-Ki pushing her away from me

"Stay out of it, it's none of your business" She snickers

"Want me to tell Heeseung that you're beating up girls who he's choosing to associate himself with?" Ni-Ki threatens

"You're not the only one, stop acting like it" And she stands there dumbfounded staring at him

"Fuck you both" She groans storming out of the alley and I lean back on the wall

"Here" Ni-Ki passes me a tissue and I put it on my nose

"Thanks, but you can go now" I reply not wanting the other girl who's obsessed with Ni-Ki to find out, but I'm sure Ha-eun will tell her

"No, I'm staying here" He sits down beside me and helps me clean the blood off

"Why are you being nice to me? You hated me the first time we met" I remind him

"I didn't hate you, I was confused" He sighs

"Confused about what?" I question

"Confused on why I wanted to know who you were so badly, I normally don't care" He admits

"W-what?"

"Yeah, it's pretty rare for me to want to know more about a girl" He chuckles

"But you just seemed different"

"How so?"

"Everything, you weren't like most of the girls at Dream High, you were new and quiet and that made me interested"

And again, I can feel the heat rising on my cheeks as I look away in embarrassment

"I can see you blushing you know?" His infectious laugh fills my ears and I chuckle a little looking back at him

"Do you wanna maybe hang out some time? Just me and you?"

"Uhm..." I trail off trying to think what to say, I've never been asking out on a date, if this even is a date

"It's okay if you don't wanna, you've only been here about three weeks, and it's been kinda obvious you're trying to avoid me so I thought I'd just try"

"No, I'd like that" I smile slightly

"You would?" He questions, his face lighting up

"Yeah, I would" I confirm

"How about Wednesday? I know this great ice cream place"

I'm about to agree when I remember, meet me at the janitors closet on Wednesday

"Shoot, I can't do Wednesday" I admit

"How about Saturday? It's a full day and we won't be tired after school" He suggests

"Saturday sounds good" I smile

"Also, how did you know I'd be here?"

"I saw Ha-eun dragging you off, I knew it wouldn't be good"

"And I'm glad I did, god knows what else would have happened if I didn't"

"I'm glad too" Our eyes meet and his beautiful brown eyes remind me of a butterfly flying in the golden sunset

"You're eyes are pretty" He mutters not breaking eye contact

Now it feels as if there are butterflies in my stomach, "T-thank you" I choke out nervously

"Yours are too"

"Come in, quickly, I have so much to tell you!" Jiwon explains practically dragging me to her room

"Is this about a certain black haired boy?" I ask excited

I never thought I'd be excited about boy stuff but ever since befriending Jiwon, I have been dying for her and Sunghoon to get back together

They are the perfect match

"Maybe" She giggles

"Oh my god! Spill!" I exclaim

"He was smiling at me in school and he texted me..."

"He asked if he could come over when Jay isn't here, to talk"

"Did you say yes? Please tell me you said yes!"

"Obviously I said yes! But I'm actually so nervous, he's coming over on Saturday since Jay has to do something"

"Oh my god!" I squeal, so happy for my best friend, never thought I would say those words

I have a friend, she's my best friend and I hope I'm hers

"I also have something to tell you..." I trail off, I can't keep this secret in any longer

"I think I already know" She points out

"You do?" I question

"Just tell me!"

"Ni-ki asked me out!"

"I KNEW IT!" She screams

"He was always asking about you to me, I just knew you would be the first girl he would ask out, ever, he's normally never this interested in anyone"

"Especially in On-Jo, she's been obsessed with him since we were kids"

Wait is that who the mysterious girl is?

"And her best friend Ha-eun is obsessed with Heeseung, but I think they have been fucking" she whispers the last word

"Of course they have" I roll my eyes

"But never mind them, I'm so happy for you!" She wraps her arms around my neck and hugs me

"When are you two going out?" She asks

"Saturday" I inform her

"Oh my god, you should get him to come over to mine after with me and Sunghoon, it can be like a little double date, if it goes well with me and him" She suggests

"We could watch a movie and snuggle up...?" She nudges my shoulder smirking

"Maybe a little kiss??"

"Jiwon, stop!" I exclaim in embarrassment

"I've never been on a date, I've never even been asked out by a boy before, I'm scared"

"There's a first time for everything, but I know Ni-Ki will make it special, considering you are special"

"I just don't get why he choose me though?" I glance over at her full length mirror

My bangs are loosely covering my forehead and my hair is sitting messily over my shoulders, my lips are soft and plump because of the lip balm and my tie is missing?

"Because you are a fucking goddess and you're  the nicest person to ever walk the earth, you're the best person I could've ever chosen to be my best friend, and I'm so glad you entered my life" Her hands lay on my shoulders as she makes eye contact with me through the mirror

"You're gonna make me cry, stop" I can already feel my eyes begin to burn as I try to fight back the tears

"Noo why?" She asks

"You're the first and only person to ever treat me like this" I admit

"Awh Haerin" A tear falls from her cheek and she hugs me tightly again
