17:14, 21 November 2024Perseus was flashed to the Primordial council room. The Primordials were sitting there in a perfect U. Each staring down at me.
Perseus, the Titan of Darkness, Light and Death, you have been accounted for the messing of the great prophecy. You specifically said 'Damn the prophecy' to my daughters. Now, your trial begins. Do you pledge yourself innocent?"
"No. I am guilty." Why am I so fucking honorary?
"Then it is decided. Your punishment. You shall lose your memory temporarily, until you redeem yourself. You will become mortal, and have the same amount of power as one of your demi-god sons."
I lowered my head.
"I accept. But I have a final request."
"What is it, Titan?"
"I want my family, and partners to know what happened. But, as you were going to do, tell them not to interfere with what happened."
It shall be granted. Goodbye young one, I hope we meet again." Father time spoke.
"Me too. Me too." I whispered.
I was flashed down to the mortal plane. When I was about to reach, I clutched my head in pain. And then, I blacked out. I woke up on the floor, and I couldn't remember anything.
I was sent to a cave, and a wolf was waiting for me.
-OO- (3 months later)
Perseus was having a terrible headache. I felt like a part of me was missing, but the worst part is, I couldn't remember anything.
As I gazed straight ahead, I saw a pack of wolves in an attack formation. I tried to remember something, anything. But it was bubkes.
But somehow, a small memory flickered inside my brain. How to call my weapon, Shadow.
As I felt threatened, I summoned it in my hand.
The wolf closest to me, shifted in her human form. Her fur, and her smaller body melted into this -now human- body.
"What are you doing here, demi-god? No demi-god has come here for the past month, due to those pesky fauns." She whispered the last sentence to herself.
"I do not know how I am here, I can't remember a single thing leading up to here."
"It is okay. Pack, do not attack this demi-god, I sense something strong inside him. What is your name, child?"
"My name is Perseus. But you can call me Percy."
"Okay Percy. How about you tell me what you remember, tell me from the start."
I sat on a near rock, and told her everything I knew.
"Umm... Well, I just landed here, somehow, I was teleported. I can remember a few names, and a distinct memory. I can only remember Artemis, Hestia and Zoe. Do you know where I can find them?"
This got the pack, and her on high alert.
-OO-
Lupa was on high alert. Two of the names he told were of the Greek Gods. The Greeks were enemies of Rome. And, if he knew those names, he would have been related to the Greeks.
"No," she said strictly.
"There is nobody I know with that name. What is the other memory you have?"
"Well... first is how to summon my sword, Shadow. And, my father... I think." The demi-god confusingly replied.
This got Lupa perked up.
"Well..." she asked.
"I think his name is... umm... Perseus I think."
Lupa froze. A child of a Titan, who is as strong as a Primordial. The kid would be something special, and especially strong.
"Yes, he is Perseus. Well, boy, it is okay. Do not strain your brain much. You will get your memories someday."
He nodded.
"But you cannot stay here with me. You have to go to the Roman camp. Start to go west. You will reach there."
He nodded.
"But how will I contact you, Lady Lupa."
"You are the son of Perseus, child. You can hear everything from the shadows. Just contact me from there."
He nodded.
"Now, off you go."
He started walking out of the -once abandoned- house. Lupa went to the end of the cliff, and watched over Perseus till he was lost to her sight in the forest.
"This year is going to be very interesting." She mused.
-OO-
Perseus walked towards a shop. I was very hungry, and the closest shop I got was a bargain mart.
It was a rather small complex, and I had nothing on me before, but I found a few dollars in my pockets.
As I entered the store, my sixth -demi-god- sense started to go wild. I could feel monsters around me.
Still, my hunger was getting the better of me. I searched around the snack's aisle. I took a Hot Cheetos packet, and went towards the cashier.
Once I reached the cashier station, I felt the gaze of two workers on me. And, I heard a faint hiss coming from them.
As I turned towards them, their features changed to one of a gorgon. How do I know that?
But it looked like nobody else could see them.
I forgot the Cheetos, and started pace walking towards the exit.
I felt them walking behind me, secretly catching up.
I ran.
As I ran through the streets, they opened their wings and flew towards me.
I remembered Lupa telling me about my father. Well, she didn't exactly tell me about him, but she looked a little shocked when I told his name. So, he should be someone powerful.
I tried to find some powers inside me. I closed my eyes, and searched inside me, and used my sixth sense to guide me.
All I could see was Darkness and Light.
Could that be a sign?
I opened my eyes to find both the Gorgons standing in front of me. But I also noticed that the shadows around them were calling to me.
I imagined a big sword made out of those shadows, and they would impale the monsters in front of me.
And that was exactly what happened.
But they did not die.
They turned to fine gold dust, but quickly reformed.
"You cannot kill us, demi-god. We will not die." And then laughed evilly.
I used their shadows to hold them into place.
As they struggled to be free, I launched ahead.
Running at impossible speeds towards the West.
After about thirty minutes, I reached a street with a gate, and two people -who were armed- were guarding them. One was a boy, and one was a girl.
I walked up to them, but before I could say anything. The boy aimed his spear at me.
"Who are you? Why have you come here?"
But I could read their thoughts.
The boy was confused, while the girl was thinking of me as a god.
"He is handsome," I blushed at that.
"He could be a god. And, this could be a test. If we fail, we could get turned into bananas. Like the old stories." She thought.
"Frank. Put down your spear."
He looked at her, and with a nod, he put down his spear, though hesitantly.
"What is your name?"
"Percy." I replied.
The golden eyed girl nodded.
"I am Hazel, and this is Frank. Come with us."
As we entered the cavern, I noticed that Frank kept looking at me, then stopped, then repeated.
It made me really uncomfortable.
So, I walked towards Hazel.
"So Hazel, where are you taking me?"
"I will be taking you to New Rome."
"Yaa right. You have a great sense of humour. Now really, tell me."
"I am not joking, Percy."
"Even though I do not have my memories," they stared at me.
"I know that Rome is not in California."
"It is a long story, Percy. You will be told about it. Now come on, we have to cross the little Tiber."
"Little Tiber eh."
A bright light could be seen ahead.
We walked ahead, till we reached there.
A beautiful scene could be seen.
A whole town, and a city. Fully surrounded by a river. The Little Tiber.
As we walked down the cliff, towards the river.
I totally forgot about the Gorgons, which led them to be freed.
As me and Hazel reached down, Frank was still behind us.
But the Gorgons caught up, they used their talons, and trapped Frank's hands.
They captured the panicked Frank, and started increasing their altitude. He kept moving, trying to make them lose their grip, but it was to no avail.
A whole army of Roman soldiers started to come to the Little Tiber.
Some aimed their bows on the Gorgons. But I knew that if they shot, they would harm Frank. And I could not allow that.
So, I decided to take the situation in my hands.
I concentrated on my powers, and a feeling in my gut arose.
The Light started to gather, and the shadows of all the soldiers accumulated in the sky. All rising towards the now massive figure.
All the collected Light, and the shadows shaped into two large hands.
This got the Romans all shocked. And the pain in my guts worsened, as I knew that Darkness and Light do not mix.
But I continued my original plan.
The Light made-hand shot at the Gorgon on the right, and the Shadow one shot at the Gorgon on the left.
As it hit them on the face, they dropped Frank.
My shadow flew towards Frank, and carried him back on his home land.
While the hands smashed the Gorgons into golden dust.
As they started to reform, I sucked the dust into the shadows.
The dust was separated from each other, and the movement stopped.
As the Adrenaline stopped coursing through my veins, the hands vanished, taking my strength away. I was left breathless.
I now knew not to use my Light powers and Darkness powers together, unless in a dire situation.
Frank came toward me, and wrapped me in a tight hug.
"Thank you so much, Percy." He replied breathlessly.
"You are welcome, Frank." I replied.
I could sense Hazel smiling in the background.
I patted Frank on the shoulder, and pulled out of the hug.
I sensed the other soldiers staring at me. And a female in a purple cloak looking at me cautiously. She looked like the leader.
"Who are you, boy... err... demi-god." She changed the last part of her answer, after looking at me. She seemed to be around 16, while I was 18.
"I am Percy."
I replied while extending my hand. But she did not reciprocate, so I took it back.
"You look around 18. And you seem powerful, how were you not killed?"
"I can't remember anything. I uhm... have memory loss."
"Memory loss you say. But what do you remember?"
"I was standing in the wolf house, in front of Lupa."
"Lupa? But demi-gods now come here directly with the fauns."
"I told you, I can't remember anything before that."
"Okay. Soldiers! Go back to what you were going to do." She screamed.
"Hazel, take him to Octavian. Ask him if he can join the cohorts, and be a part of the legion."
As we were about to leave, a sign glowed above my head, and each and each and every one of them bowed.
The symbol showed Darkness and Light fighting.
"Why are you guys bowing?"
"Hail Percy. Son of the Destroyer, the killer of the Gods, the strongest Titan. Perseus, the Titan of Darkness, Light and Death." Reyna announced.
That's why I can control both the Light and the Darkness.
I followed Hazel towards the biggest building.
It looked new, and I saw many other buildings around there.
Two of the buildings looked like small sheds.
"What are those two?" I pointed towards the two buildings.
"Those are the cabins for Pluto and Oceanus." She replied.
"But why are those so small? Aren't those both Titans?"
"Yes, they are. But the Romans don't like them much. A few months ago, there was this huge battle between the Titans and the Gods. The Titans won, but there was this alliance with us Romans -which was made by your father- that if we don't participate in that war, we would not be eradicated. So, we naturally took it. We did not like the sea, so Neptune, and Death, so Pluto. So as Oceanus took Neptune's place again, we just changed his cabin a little. The Romans respect the gods less, but fear them more. As in the olden days, the sea was not a favourable mode of transport for the Romans. But I do not have a problem with either, as I myself am a daughter of Pluto."
I nodded.
"So where will I be staying?"
She pointed to another palace.
Though not as small as Oceanus's, it was not that big either.
"Then why is my father's cabin so small?" I asked.
"He is also a god of Darkness and Death, and the condition is similar to that of Hades."
I nodded.
"So where are we going?"
"Do you see that building over there?" she pointed straight ahead.
The palace was monumentally big.
"Whose is that?" I asked.
"Saturn's."
"Like Kronos?"
"Shh. We would have been in a huge problem if somebody heard us. You are not allowed to talk about the Greeks, or the Greek gods here."
"I thought they were all the same."
"They are not the same. I will talk about this afterwards, when we are alone."
As we reached Saturn's palace, I saw a skinny blonde sitting there.
"Hello Octavian." Hazel called out to the boy.
"Hello Hazel." he looked at me, "A new recruit I presume?"
"Yes." Though she looked annoyed.
He turned towards a buttload of soft toys, and plucked a panda out.
"Are those stuffed toys?"
"Oh yes. We used to use animal guts before," I cringed.
"But these toys can do the same thing. We thought, 'Why should we kill innocent animals.'"
"What are those used for?"
"To hear the will of the Titans."
He plunged a knife inside the poor stuffed panda. And chanted a prayer in Latin.
He opened his eyes, "You can be put in a cohort, Percy."
I nodded.
"I hope you vote for me, Hazel." She froze.
"It wouldn't help if the rumour was confirmed." He smirked.
I felt a brotherly affection for the daughter of Pluto. I was ready to smash Shadow's blade through his head.
But Hazel remained calm.
"I will think about it, Octavian."
"Now shoo."
As we reached out of his hearing range, I asked.
"Who was he? How can you let him talk to you like that?"
"He is a legacy of Apollo. We still allow children of the gods here. He can supposedly read the will of the gods. He wants to be the praetor, and there is a rumour about me. And it is nothing. Just forget about it. Anyway, do you want me to take you to the baths? You are looking very tired, and are stinking a little." She chuckled.
I laughed, forgetting about the incident which happened before.
"I am. Come on."
She practically dragged me to the baths.
As she gave me a t-shirt and pants, and she pushed me into the baths with just a towel around my waist.
I laughed at her antics, and went into the Roman baths. You have never truly relaxed, unless you have gone in a Roman bath.
