17:14, 21 November 2024Birthed 500 years before the Titanomachy, Perseus was the youngest and strongest Titan. He was the Titan of Darkness and Death. Thanatos and Keres were cousins, Thanatos representing peaceful death, while Keres representing Violent Death. Both, even though Primordials of their respective domains, were weaker beings than the Titan of Death. And, this is his story.
-OO-
Perseus walked down the forest, trying to find his girlfriend, his Metis. Known as, Lady Wisdom. Wisest deity aside from Chaos herself, was the Titan of Wisdom and Knowledge. She has been friends with him since his birth. She may be his niece, but due to the godly genes, Incest was non-existent.
The Titanomachy was going on, the fight between his brethren and his Niece and Nephews, the gods. He was always told that he was in the top 5 strongest beings list, by his mother, Gaia. First being Chaos, then Lady Nyx, his cool aunt, uncle Erebus, his cool uncle, Lord Chronos, and then finally him. Whenever he was angry, his siblings would always tell him that, even the primordial of the Earth, was scared of him.
Taking Metis for a stroll, he knocked on the door to her palace. Thump, Thump, came the noise of his knuckles thumping against the wooden door. "Hello Percy," Came the seductive purr of Metis. "Hello to you too Metis. Want to go on that date I talked to you about?"
"Yes, Percy."
She came out in a cotton chiton and a white bra. She looked beautiful, and breathtaking. No matter how many times I saw her, she always made my heart beat so fast.
I held her hand, as I pulled her to myself, and kissed her, with how much ever love I could muster, which to say, is a lot. I pulled back after a few seconds, and started to pull her as I went towards the forest. Metis was so desperate for any knowledge, she could not live, if something was kept from her. So, we would normally go out for research purposes, libraries etc.
Today we were going to see and learn about the wild flowers present in the wild. Roaming and discussing was always fun for us, we were so similar, hence we became a couple.
Suddenly, elemental traps sprung on us. Lightnings, Water shots, darkness. Due to my power, I was able to stop the darkness, and shield us with the shadows. The big three rolled out of the bushes as they came to see who became their prey.
The Titans were never at fault. Hestia has always been my favourite. Peaceful and level-headed. The big three were greedy, and wanted more power. They attacked and killed my brother Koios, but now as the war started, Koios has reformed. We had many alliances.
We knew that the elder gods had given birth to more immortals, so they could fight us better. I cocooned us in the shadows and teleported to the Titan palace. Metis had been injured. I took her to the infirmary, and helped her remain stable, and held her hand all the while.
Once healed, I flashed us to the council. "Brothers and Sisters. Me and Metis were on a date, when your 'big three' attacked us brother Kronos. She got injured, so I flashed her. This nonsense has been going on for too long, Titans. We finish it today. Hail Titans."
They cheered once more and flashed away. Today, we end this. I flashed to my chambers, and got ready.
I flashed to the battle field, where my brethren stood proudly. Though the gods may be strong, we the Titans are way stronger. As the gods entered the battlefield. We charged.
But an invisible barrier got in the way. I was blocked by an invisible barrier while my brethren charged. They were clearly outnumbered. I saw with my own eyes, as the Titans were murdered in cold blood, how Kronos, the loving parent was mutilated into three parts.
How dare those greedy immortals lay hands on my family. Feeling the barrier gone. I surged forward. The darkness exploded, the atmosphere became dark, it became cold.
The shadows were my chain of command, and I, their leader. I commanded the shadows to start suffocating the gods, decreasing their speed, as it pulled them into the eternal void called Darkness.
Shadows formed spikes, swords, chains as it went and ripped those gods apart. I was about to win when suddenly a voice of my beloved Metis came, she was standing with the remaining gods. As I stood there stunned, my anger washing away, letting shock and sadness enter, the gods came and hit me with their symbols of power.
Metis using her wisdom and strategies had crafted their whole battle plan. Tears fell from my eyes, not from the physical pain, but her betrayal. The gods tied me up in celestial bronze ropes and flashed me to a mountain. More specifically, Mount Olympus. This is where they held their council meetings.
I was tarnished, the warm and hopeful glow in my eyes diminished. I was dull and utterly helpless and weak. I was thrown into a cage, where everything was made out of Celestial Bronze, and a mini sun to keep darkness from entering, courtesy of their very own prophecist, Apollo.
Staring at the bronze reflection of mine, I missed their comments on their victory, and how they will rule. I regained my senses from a banishment.
Zeus said, "Hades, you are to be hereby to be banished from Olympus."
Hades was shocked, confused, and angry. "Why brother", brother was spoken with deadly venom. "You are the oldest brother amongst us, and you are a threat to my rule. I would also like to replace my sister, Hestia with my son, Dionysus."
At this almost all argued, Hestia was the hearth, the hope, and the peace of the council. But, being a peaceful deity, she quit. She didn't want to make her family fight against each other, and make a whole new war, just for her seat.
I knew it, I thought. Zeus is a bad ruler, due to his pride and paranoia. I had told everyone to be aware, but no. First, they turn on me, and now are killing my mother, by letting him be the King. How dumb. I sighed.
"I would like to establish rules for this new empire and government:
1. Olympus will be governed with democracy. But the king will always get the most depth in the vote.
2. Rules with meeting mortals should be established. No meeting your demi-god kids, unless necessary.
3. Whenever you have an immortal baby, you will have to get my approval.
4. My rule shall always be followed.
5. My children shall be treated properly.
These are the basic rules. We will improvise as we proceed into the future. Now, for the punishment of our dear uncle, Perseus."
I grimaced at what punishment I would get. Torture, lock up, who knows what goes into that twisted mind of his.
"You, my dear uncle, shall be trapped in a cage. It shall be an island, where you shall be alone for eternity. No night, one day, and you are not allowed to escape. You shall be surrounded by the ocean, and shall be loyal to only Olympus.
During the last sentence, I spat on him. How dare he, "Zeus, if this is what you decree, I shall accept it. But you should know. I shall never be loyal to Olympus. I will fight with my brethren in the next Titanomachy. I shall never stand with any of you. Just remember, I shall have my revenge. I swear on almighty Chaos, and Void itself. I curse you Zeus, never shall Darkness protect you, it shall never be with you. If you step into the shadows, you shall suffer the pain of thousands of knives pushing into your body, the pain of having your heart being stepped on, and finally the pain ends, because you will die."
With that rant, I was flashed away to a peaceful island. Gardening, flowers, I always enjoyed that. But Zeus forgot one thing, I could extract darkness from myself. A shadow formed behind me; I will get my revenge Olympus. Trust my word.
-OO-
A few days, years, centuries, I don't know, had passed. Time in Ogygia passed differently than time in the outside world. Suddenly, 3 ladies flashed in. The Moirai. They did this, they made my siblings suffer, they made me lose. They are responsible for my punishment.
With a red eyesight, shadows charged towards them, in the shape of spikes, spears and swords, it reached them before they raised their hands, "We are not here to harm you Perseus. We are here to give you your revenge."
At this, I smiled. "So Moirai, how much time has passed outside?"
"It's been 2 days. Anyway, we are here to tell you that you will have your revenge. There is going to be a Gigantomachy, another race of immortals, who are children of your mother, and your uncle, Tartarus. They are going to wage war on the Olympians, awaking Gaia, but they will be unsuccessful. Then after 2 Millenia's, the Titans rise has been written. Your siblings are going to rise again, they will rule again. But you will have to be patient for that. Ok?" Atropos asked.
"Ok!" I replied in an excited voice.
"We are going to give you something. A whole mansion is going to appear soon, two invisible workers, who will get you anything. A whole new armoury, a practice room, a huge garden and some dummies with the Gods' photos."
I personally liked the last one. "A sincere question Fates, tell me, who were actually the greedy ones, and wanted the Titan rule to end? And, for me to be punished?" I asked.
"Hades and Hestia. The oldest of the Gods, didn't want the Titanic rule to end, nor let you be punished. But they had to do so. They were being threatened. They love you very much, and always will. Don't treat them too harshly. Let me give you a hint. In the second Titanomachy, these both are going to be your biggest supporters, and Hestia will not remain peaceful anymore. Nor a maiden." Though the last part murmured.
-OO-
Hestia was so mad at herself. Why did she support her siblings? Why did she do nothing to save Percy? I hate you Metis. You fucking disloyal bitch. How could I have stayed silent when Percy was being punished.
Nobody ever knew, but she and Artemis had a huge crush on Percy. They loved him more than family. But the problem was, he was so dense. Denser than a black hole, which is like the densest thing in the whole wide universe.
She was taught combat; she was educated by him. Same with Artemis. We always dropped hints, but it would never get through. Me being the silent one, never brought it up to anyone, and Artemis had pride. She could not let her title, 'Biggest and Greatest Manhater' go away, with her being a love sick goddess.
She wanted to go so badly to him, and tell him the truth, that she never agreed to their plan, she was innocent, and professed her love to him. But, she couldn't. What if he hated her for not standing up for him? Not there for him, never helping the good side.
All those 'What if's' went over inside her head, over and over again.
The doorbell rang. She walked over and peaked through the watcher, to see the man hater, the moon goddess herself. She pulled up the handle, unlocked the door, and told her to come in. "So, what can I do for you dear Artemis?" She asked.
"Aunt Hestia. Do you promise to keep this between you and me? Fully confidential?"
She nodded. "Ok. So, as you know, Percy has been punished with banishment to the eternal cage, Ogygia." I nodded. "Well, the problem is, I have feelings for him. How, why? All those thoughts are continuously swirling in my mind. But, my heart, it is a completely different story."
"I knew that niece. I know that since you were born, you have had a huge crush on him." She looked shocked. "I too like him a lot. I want to proclaim his love. Feel it, let him make his love to me. But, well we betrayed him. You know that Percy's loyalty is not something to be tampered with. Once broken, it's almost impossible to get back." She agreed. "Even though we did not participate in the events of his punishment. We didn't stand up for him. And, that was wrong of us. So, we can't do anything."
"Thank you, Aunt."
And then she flashed away in a bright silver hue. Like father, like daughter. Both have a thing for theatrics.
I sat quietly, hearing the sounds of the blazing hearth. Thinking what I just said to her, we both love him, even though it's terrible incest. He was also my best friend, and I didn't support him, I didn't support my loving father.
The golden age was actually the golden age. It was the best ruling age, but my brothers attacked them due to power lust, and to gain the overall rule of the Earth. I know Perseus was not at his full potential. A Primordial can defeat all the Olympians and a Titan together, but Perseus was still young. And, he had not reached his full potential yet, what would happen if he did.
I don't know why I supported my brothers and sisters. But I also know father, and Perseus. They will not be submissive and trapped, they are going to defeat us in the next war, and if Perseus remains in his cage, he is going to grow stronger, I know it. The old Titan war will feel like a normal feud, all will fade.
Only 8 people know the truth of Perseus's sword, Shadow. It was a gift from Lord Chaos himself, it can make even Primordials fade and take their power. Even without it, he comes in the top 5 strongest deities in the universe. Only 7 people aside from Lord Chaos know about this ability, Me, Gaia, Nyx, Erebus, Tartarus, Zeus and Kronos. But the problem is, only he and Chaos can wield it, no one else, unless he gives it to them. He, with a normal unbalanced sword, had almost bested Tartarus, the best swordsman. If he gets his sword and fights him, he will most probably defeat Tartarus, and make him fade, and become even more stronger.
His sword is with me right now, safe in a locker, which is made out of celestial bronze, as that material is a power dampener. He will come for it, once he is free. And that is guaranteed.
