Percabeth Meets Mortals: Percy

"Can I help you?" were words that Percy was used to hearing come rolling out of his fiancé's mouth. Usually they came when someone of the male species decided to start hitting on her, usually because they didn't see, or chose to ignore, the ring that Percy had placed on her left hand. And usually, after those words came tumbling out of Annabeth's mouth, Percy interceded. 

They were pretty good at the whole thing by now. 

But when Percy heard those same words come out of Annabeth's mouth and she was on the phone, Percy put the two things that he knew to be true together in his mind, marched over to where Annabeth was sitting on the couch in their apartment, hand gripping the phone, and took it out of her hand and shoved it against his face. 

"Who is this?" He asked, semi-angrily. In front of him, Annabeth was going ballistic. She kept waving her hands around and mouthing things like 'What the hell' and 'Why would you do that'. 

"Uhhhh...Watercrest Flowers," a female voice squeaked. 

"Oh. Um. I'm so sorry. Have a nice day," Percy forced the words out, blushing furiously. 

As he handed the phone back to Annabeth, he heard some words come out of the phone speaker, but Percy was too occupied trying to plot his escape strategy to try to make out the words.

He was back in their bedroom when she got off the phone . Percy heard her footsteps stomping back to their room before he heard her voice. 

"Why on Demeter's green Earth would you do that?" 

"You said 'Can I help you' which is what you normally say to people of the male species trying to get into your pants. I'm sorry. I jumped to conclusions," Percy tucked his head. 

"It's okay, Seaweed Brain, but next time you're concerned, why don't you ask me?" She asked softly, coming over to where Percy was sitting on their bed. She leaned into him, and he wrapped her arm around her. 

"You know best, Wise Girl," he told her, kissing her forehead.

Sorry for the long time between updates. I had lots of tests and then finals and then family over and so it's been awhile since I've been on my computer. I hope this made up for the wait.
