Looking at her phone, y/n sighs as there was no notification on her lock screen. Not even a single text message and the day was also about to end in a few minutes. She sighs as she stood up and went inside her shared bed room with her 3 years boyfriend, Jungkook.
She brings out her note pad which contained random lyrics she has in her mind, when inspiration suddenly hits. It's always been a habit, even before dating Jungkook. She just writes it down and keeps it back inside right after, letting her thoughts and emotions hide within those drawers. After sitting down, she grabs a pen and lets her heart speak.
To endure, holding out is so hard. I can't
But even if I know already, I can't stop.
No way, no way, no way I'm falling down.
"Y/N?" She finally hears the door opening and the voice of her boyfriend who hasn't contacted her since morning and left without even saying goodbye.
"How was your schedule?" She asked, going outside of their room after hiding the notepad within their drawers.
"Tiring." Jungkook answered, sighing as he dragged himself towards the couch, lying with his stomach down, face buried on the couch pillow.
"Don't you want to shower up? I'll warm up some water—"
"It's fine. I just want to rest." Jungkook answered,
"How about dinner? Have you eaten? Should I heat up our food? I didn't know you'd be home late today so I kind of cooked early—"
"Can you please just let me rest?" Jungkook snapped, making y/n flinch at his sudden rise of tone. As Jungkook saw this, he sighed as he sat down and rubbed his nape. "I'm sorry. I'm just tired."
"It's okay. I'm sorry to bother. Go on and rest." She muttered, before walking away with her head down, heart pinching as she sat back down on her bed, taking out the notepad and writing on the same note she did before Jungkook came in, continuing what she has previously written.
As time passes by,
It just becomes more ruined.
No way, no way, no way it's collapsing again.
I keep saying it like a habit,
"We won't work in the end."
Even so I keep hoping,
As long as I'm with you in the end,
I'll be okay.
Y/N bitterly smiles at the lyrics she made, wiping her tears before sighing as she places it back in her drawer.
"Are we going to continue being like this, Jungkook?" she mutters, sitting on her bed with her ankles crossed as her hands fell on her lap. She was sitting with her back towards the door. She sighs, stopping a sob when she felt a weight shift from her side, and soon, arms wrapping around her.
"Jagiya, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to snap out on you like that." Jungkook cooed, keeping her in his arms as he rested his chin on her shoulder.
"It's okay." She answered,
It's not like it's the first time this happened.
"Are you still mad at me?" Jungkook asked and y/n shook her head with a sigh. She looked at her side where Jungkook's face was just literally centimeters apart, eyes locking with each other before Jungkook leaned in a kissed her on the lips.
"Like as if you'd let me stay mad at you." She says with a low chuckle with Jungkook smiling at her.
"Let's stay like this," Jungkook said, pulling her down with him to the bed. "You'll stay with me, right? Like we promised?" Jungkook asked, his eyes closed and his voice tired.
As long as I'm with you til the end, I'm okay.
"Ofcourse," She sighed, succumbing to his embrace as she closed her eyes, savoring this once in a blue moon moment where she won't be sleeping alone in their shared bedroom.

Y/N sat on her desk, having a pen in between her teeth, trying to solve a word problem on her notebook with a thick ass book opened as well.
She had told her parents she was moving in because she had to be nearer to her university she applied in which she got a scholarship in, and it was true. It was also helpful that her childhood friends Jimin and Jungkook will be here so moving from Busan to Seoul wasn't such a difficult bargain for her with her mom about getting an apartment in the city. She knew it wouldn't be easy, living alone and far away from her family for the first time, but she was happy—atleast in the first years she was with Jungkook.
It just had a slight change when Bangtan debuted, each showcasing their talents and having the burden of rising their company from the bottom. Jungkook was working hard, feeling as if he wants to contribute as much as his hyungs are in the group. It didn't take long as his efforts get recognized, him being labeled as the golden maknae.
It gave me pride, but it gave him more pressure. Pressure to live up to the title given to him, and that's when he started spending more and more time on practice rooms, gyms, studios and dieting without even properly caring for himself. He would rarely come home, and if he would, he was tired to death and not a decent conversation can be get out from him or else it just ends with a fight. Giving him the credit, he does apologize if he knows he's gone too far, but y/n can't deny the pain of each hurtful words exchanged through their fights when both of them are tired from the day that has passed.
Y/N ahh~ What are you doing right now? -Jimin
Studying. What's up? -Y/N
Oh come on. If you keep studying that much, you'll.... Look like a book! -Jimin
Y/N chuckled at the message she received from her friend. She was indeed in need of a break, and maybe Jimin would be able to help blow off steam and fatigue from all these studying for her finals.
Well, what do you have in mind that I do? -Y/N
Come over and bring some food! We'll all be waiting! -Jimin
She smiled, biting her lower lip as she felt excited. Jimin wouldn't have asked her to come over if they weren't free and so she concluded on her own that everyone would be there for a little hang out as they rest from their exhausting schedules. She couldn't deny that after all these busy days, she surely missed these guys; especially Jungkook.
She brought all the favorite snacks of each guys and after ringing their bell thrice—two short ones and one long—she was greeted with a bear hug from Taehyung and Jimin.
"She's here!" They announced, and the guys erupted in greetings and cheers.
"Hey kids, let her in first." Seokjin said, letting the two let go and having y/n smile at him and give him a quick hug. "How have you been?" he asked and she just shrugged.
"Finals around the corner but Jimin feared I'd look like a book if I study too much." She joked, having Jimin agree, defending himself that too much of anything is bad. They all had a good laugh while y/n scans the dorm for that one person.
"Who are you looking for?" Hoseok asks, sitting on the sofa as he pats the space beside him.
"Jungkook's not here," Jimin said, taking the plastic bags from her and bringing them over to the small living room they had where movies were already set up. "He said he wanted to practice some more." He shrugged, before Taehyung dragged her into the living room, sitting on the mattress laid on the floor as she got dragged down to sit in between Jimin and Taehyung.
Then again, she lost her time with her boyfriend to the practice room she had always been jealous of.

!! FANSERVICE AT ITS BEST WITH BTS'S GOLDEN MAKNAE, JEON JUNGKOOK !!
Y/N told herself to take a break from the 4 straight hours of studying as she scrolled through her time line when this headline of an article caught her attention, redirecting her to a video of one of BTS's recent fanmeets taken a few days ago. She smiled at the thumb nail of Jungkook wearing a bunny head band with a heart sticker on his cheek.
At first he was playing with a fan's gift, goofing around with Taehyung when this girl with straight, mid-length hair kneeled infront of him as it was her turn for Jungkook's time. He smiled dearly at her, something she missed Jungkook doing to her, before scanning through the album with sticky notes they would answer. After reading and answering while he nods at what the fan was saying, he suddenly looked up and chuckled nervously. He scrunched up his nose before pinching the girl's cheek and standing up to give her a hug.
Y/N paused the video as her heart started having this pinching sensation.
What are you doing? Y/N thinks to herself, Ofcourse it's their job. There wouldn't be Bangtan if it wasn't for ARMYs.
She continued the video until it went to the part where there was an interview for the members, the edited video showing only Jungkook's responses.
"ARMYs would like to know who's the most important person in your life after your family and members," The interviewer asked and Jungkook smiled.
"None other than my ARMYs." He answered with his bunny smile,
"Do you have anyone special in your heart right now?" the interviewer asked again.
"I have no time for it," he dismissed the idea, causing another stabbing pain in y/n's chest. "Having to cope up with school given my packed schedule, I can only have time to practice while thinking about our ARMYs." The fans screamed and the interviewers cringed alongside his members, but he was happy with the response as he just chuckles with a proud smile.
"Lucky ARMYs." Y/N muttered, placing her phone down as she went back to studying, but with what she just watched, her focus was already off of her lessons as she thinks of how Jungkook smiled at the fan and his words repeating over and over.
"I have no time for it;Having to cope up with school given my packed schedule, I can only have time to practice while thinking about our ARMYs"
He doesn't have the time for it. He doesn't have time for you, y/n thought to herself, like opening a fresh wound.
Just a few minutes later, her phone rang with her mom's name on the caller's ID. She picked it up on the third ring with confusion as she hardly receives call from them.
"Eomma?" I picked up, only to be greeted with a shaky sigh.
"Y/N ah... Sunmin..." her mother trailed off. She didn't like the feeling of the news she was about to hear regarding her childhood bestfriend whom she considered as her sister ever since they were born. "Sunmin's in a coma. It's been a month, but her parents want you to visit her after her mom had a dream with Sunmin saying she'll be waiting for you."
"W.w.what..." she lost all strength to even hold her phone up her ears as she sob.
The last time they had talked was when y/n told her about their current situation, Jungkook and her, and Sunmin just sighed and told her that y/n was a fool. You're fools, staying under a house of cards. It'll crash down any moment soon, was what she said, but y/n got upset with her and they fought. Y/n tried calling her afterwards, trying to reach out but she thought she shut her away as she doesn't let y/n reach her. She never knew her best friend's situation was that severe.
I'm sorry. Y/N thoughts were wiped clean as she was dead set on leaving Seoul as soon as she can. Looking up the clock, it says it was 9 in the evening.
Jungkook!
She dialed her phone, connecting to Jungkook as fast as she could—only to be greeted by a panting Jungkook.
"Jungkook ah! I—"
"I'll call you later. I'm still practicing." The line got cut with that.
"Fuck shit, Jungkook." Y/N cried in frustration before her phone rang again, this time it was Jimin.
"Y/N ahhhh we have a one week break before releasing the new album, 화양연화 pt2! They haven't thought of the outro yet. Wanna play?~~~" Jimin's voice just made me cry.
YOU HAD ONE WEEK. CAN'T YOU SPARE A MINUTE TO TALK TO ME, JEON JUNGKOOK?!
"Yah!" Jimin's panicked voice rang through the receiver. "Why are you crying?! Are you hurt?!"
"Jimin ah... c.can you go with me to Busan?" I asked shakily.
.
.
After practicing, his body feeling drained, he looked at the clock and saw it was 12 midnight. Jungkook took his ipod, detaching it from their practice room's audio as he heads out with his duffel bag at his shoulder, wiping his sweat away with a towel. With his state, he doesn't think he can come home to his shared apartment with Y/N, so he went straight to the dorm of the guys, just a few minute walk away from their company. He comes in, everyone still awake. The living room still noisy as Taehyung and Hoseok laughs at the screen, Jin reminding them to clean up the spilled snacks on the floor while Namjoon was looking for his charger and Yoongi probably in his room, composing since this is his usual time for creating music.
"Oh—Jungkook?" Namjoon noticed the maknae, going towards him when he sat on the sofa, all tired and drained as he closed his eyes. "You weren't with Jimin and Y/N?" he asked, making Jungkook half-open his eyes as he shakes his head.
"Let me stay here for the night." Jungkook said, slowly letting the fatigue to consume him.
"Alright." Their leader shrugged, letting the hard working maknae have his rest.
.
.
The next morning, Jungkook woke up in the same sofa he slept on last night when Hoseok tapped him.
"Let's have breakfast." He said, motioning their youngest towards the dining area where everyone's settled. Jungkook took his seat, sighing before thanking them for the food when he noticed the seven chairs with one unoccupied.
"Where's Jimin hyung?" Jungkook asked, still half asleep.
"He said he'd go to Busan. It looked urgent last night." Hoseok answered.
"What happened?" Namjoon asked as Jungkook just listened as he ate.
"He didn't say anything and just packed a few clothes before leaving in a hurry. He originally just wanted Y/N to visit us but he told her to stop crying before leaving to his room and grabbing things and just saying he'll be back within the week." Taehyung answered, making Jungkook drop his chopsticks.
"Y/N was crying and they're in Busan right now?!" Jungkook almost chocked in his food as he stood up, wide eyes, all his sleepiness wiped away from him. It didn't take a second before Jungkook ran, getting his duffel bag and sprinting to their apartment. He checked his phone, confused as he never got a text message from her.
"Jungkook ah! I—"
"I'll call you later. I'm still practicing."
Jungkook realized that and curses himself before quickly taking a shower as he was about to follow when he noticed a letter on their bedroom desk.
To: Jeon Jungkook
He was confused as this writing belonged to Y/N, and he was 100% sure of it. He sat down on the edge of the bed as he opened the envelope and stared at the hand writing, before focusing on the words written.
Jungkook ah,
If you're reading this, then it must have mean that I've already left. I'm sorry for leaving without saying goodbye, but I don't even think it would fit your busy schedule so I just wrote a letter, hoping that you'd have at least the time to read what I have to say, when you clearly don't have the time to listen to it.
I went to Busan, after hearing about Sunmin getting in an accident and being in a coma for a month already. Mom just told me last night and I called you—but then again, you were busy.
I know we promised each other never to leave one's side, that no matter what happens, as long as we're together, we'll be okay. But at this given situation, are we still together? I may sound selfish, but it feels like I've lost you. To your practice room, to your fans, to your career.
I know how music is important to you, and I know how much BTS and ARMYs can make you happy, so here I am. Letting you go so that you can enjoy the most out of your passion without having an extra luggage to hold you back, if ever I am an enough reason for you to be held back.
The memories we shared, the us before everything else, was the best time of my life and thank-you for being my happiness. I'm sorry we have to end this way, but with all that's happening, maybe Sunmin was right. Staying in this relationship was like staying under a house of cards. We're gonna collapse, that's already obvious.
I wanted to stay, like a fool, like I always had.
But it got harder—we got more ruined as time passes by.
I wanted to stay, I really do.
But I'm sorry, we fell.
Like a house of cards, we collapsed.

.
Two weeks had passed and Bangtan was in their last performance of their showcase for their newly released album. Jimin patted Jungkook's shoulder before he went into his position, readying for the last stage for their fans. As the beat started, Jungkook did his best to keep his tears at bay, singing the song from the scraps of notes Y/N left on their desk and from her last letter; House of Cards.
It's risky, it's dangerous. So bad, why us? To endure, holding out is so hard, I can't. Even if I knew already, I can't stop. No way, no way, no way, I fall. As time passes by, it just becomes more ruined, No way, no way, no way, it's collapsing.
A house made of cards with us inside, Even though the end is visible, even if it's going to collapse soon A house made of cards, we're like idiots. Even if it's a vain dream, stay like this a little more.
Flashes of memories hit Jungkook as he sings this song. Those smiles she smiles at him and only him, those times she was comforting him when he couldn't get it together, breaking down from all the pressure he was feeling, to the times when they'd just laugh and play, date carelessly as they had the happiest time of their lives.
As if there's no such thing as tomorrow, As if there's no such thing as 'next time' Right now, infront of my eyes, everything without you is a terribly picth-black darkness I say it like a habit, "We wouldn't work out in the end." Even so I keep hoping, As long as I'm with you in the end, I'm okay.
Regret. It was eating him alive as he sang the words from Y/N herself. Those moments when she must have felt so lost and alone while Jungkook was too busy drowning himself in the pressure and making things harder than it actually is, leaving him no time for that person who had always been there for him.
A house made of cards with us inside, Even though the end is visible, even if it's going to collapse soon A house made of cards, we're like idiots. Even if it's a vain dream, stay like this a little more.
The song ended and the crowd cheered, leaving Jungkook sobbing as tears flew freely down his face, not being able to stop the emotions flowing over him as the song ends.
Even if it's a vain dream... Please stay.
But he knows too well that it was over.
Like a house of cards, They have collapsed.
