The sound of knocks on the door woke me up completely after I had been drifting in and out of sleep for a couple of minutes. I ultimately gave in, opening my eyes even if my whole body screamed for me to stay still and fall back asleep, moving my hands to my eyes to rub the sleep away. Steady breathing beside me caught my attention next, finally realizing Bellamy was still there as he promised, a smile on my lips as I moved my head up to look at him, ready to murmur his name when he beat me to it.
- "I'm awake." –he slowly opened his eyes, immediately landing them on mine, smiling.
- "Please, tell me you didn't stay awake or else..."
- "I did fall asleep, Sam. I woke up a little ago."
- "And you didn't hear the door?" –I chuckled, raising my eyebrows- "Maybe you aren't at your prime after all."
- "I didn't want to wake you up, you looked peaceful."
- "Oh, shut up." –I rolled my eyes as I felt the heat on my face- "Wait, what if it's about Raven?"
- "Stay down, I'll go."
Bellamy let go of me, understanding my concern and moving to open the door as I ignored his words and rose too so that I could sit on the bed. I stretched my arms, keeping my eyes on the door, realizing it was Jackson there asking Bellamy if I was with him. As soon as I heard my name, I stood up, slowly walking to the door.
- "Is everything alright? Is Raven alright?"
- "From what I can tell, she is." -Jackson faced me as I stood next to Bellamy- "I came to let you know she is out of surgery and to take you with me to finish your blood transfusion and to take care of your last wounds."
- "Can I see her?"
- "Sam..."
- "I need to see her." -I turned to face Bellamy, expecting to see him ready to scold me or tell me that I needed to stay still but, instead, what I saw was a soft smile on his lips and a look on his eyes I couldn't completely read- "What?"
- "I know but..." –he looked down, a small gentle smile on his lips- "how about you put some boots on first?"
I followed his eyes, realizing I was, in fact, barefoot, smiling and thanking him as I walked back inside. Jackson parted ways with us to go to Medbay to set everything up for me and to tell Abby I was okay. Bellamy followed me inside, sitting on the bed beside me and putting on his boots, helping me up, asking me if I thought I'd make it to the infirmary that same day or it'd take me longer. I glared at him, hitting him on the upper arm before I walked out of the door, hearing him laughing as he followed me. Once we got to Medbay, I saw someone pacing back and forth next to the door, soon realizing it was Finn.
- "Finn!" –I waved at him, catching his attention, his eyes lighting up as he saw us- "I'm so glad you're alive!"
- "You gave us a good scare, Sam."
- "Thank you," -I squeezed his arms- "for trying to help back there with the Grounder."
- "Thank you for not dying."
- "Then thank this one here." –I pointed at Bellamy- "I'm alive because of him. And the docs, obviously."
- "Yeah."
- "So," -I looked around us- "Where is everyone else? I haven't seen anyone around."
- "Sam..."
Finn's voice died out, forcing me to turn my head to look at him again, seeing his eyes on the floor. I glanced at Bellamy, realizing he knew as much of this as I did for he had been with me since we got here.
- "Finn?" –I waited until he looked at me again to speak- "What happened?"
- "When Bellamy brought you back I went with some guards to the dropship." -I nodded- "When we got there, there was no one there. I think the Grounders took them. Well, Raven was there obviously and..."
- "Wait what?" –I spat cutting him mid-sentence- "How's that even possible?"
- "Sam, we'll find them." –Bellamy squeezed my shoulder.
- "You can bet your ass we will." -I glanced at him- "Those Grounders don't know what's coming." –I put my fits in front of me- "But first, I need to see my best girl so, if you guys don't mind..."
Finn smiled and nodded guiding me inside, hearing Bellamy coming after us, my eyes soon landing on Raven on one of the beds, knowing she was looking probably like I had when I woke up, asleep -or passed out- on the bed, covered with a sheet and with Abby next to her. I nodded at Clarke's mother, making my way to Raven but she was quick to stop me.
- "She passed out from the pain, Samantha." –I furrowed my eyebrows at her before looking back at Raven- "Why don't I check your wounds first, and then you can come back to see her?"
- "Fine, but do it fast." –I realized my tone was way too harsh- "Please."
Abby nodded and moved away from Raven, asking me to follow her. This was all too familiar from my days in lockup, one in particular but it was not the time to bring it up. I followed her, asking Finn to keep an eye on Raven from me, a smile from him and Bellamy was soon walking beside me after Abby.
- "You don't have to stay with me if you don't want to." –I glanced at him as we got to the next room, Abby patting the bed for me to jump on it- "You've already done so much."
- "I'll stay with you if you don't mind."
- "Thank you."
He smiled and kissed my forehead; then helped me onto the stretcher where Abby had asked me to sit, taking in a deep breath as I realized this would hurt more than I'd ever care to admit. Doctor Griffin informed me that she'd finish up my leg before checking my back so I laid on the stretcher, Jackson standing beside me and asking for my arm to start the transfusion again.
- "It won't take long, you were almost done."
- "Fine with me."
- "This will hurt." -Abby looked at me- "Ready?"
- "Won't complain."
She nodded, allowing Jackson to put the needle first in my arm as she tied my leg down to the bed so that I wouldn't move it while she was taking care of it. I could feel every last bit of everything she was doing as soon as she started as much as I hoped to be numb by now but I refused to complain seeing what Raven had had to go through. I closed my eyes and clenched my fists, only opening them when I felt a hand reaching for mine, landing them on Bellamy, recognizing the apologetic look in his eyes as he interlaced his fingers with mine. I knew he felt guilty and nothing of what I said would change his mind. Maybe sharing my pain wouldn't make him feel any better but it did me and he had offered so... When Abby finished she moved away to get some more supplies so I took that chance to look at my leg, choosing to see the best of the situation, letting go of Bellamy's hand and running my hand over my thigh.
- "That's going to be one cute scar, let me tell you." -I looked at Abby- "One scar on each thigh by each Griffin; I must've won the lottery or something."
- "You have a lot of scars, Samantha."
- "Well, life hasn't been exactly flowing calmly down here."
- "I see..." –Jackson moved towards my arm- "You are almost done here too. How are you feeling?"
- "Much better," -I smiled at him- "thank you, Jackson."
- "Alright," -Abby was next to us again- "now I need you to sit on the edge of the bed and lean a bit forward. I don't want you to lie down because that would put pressure on your leg wound and it is still fresh."
I nodded and did as told, silently wishing there were no open wounds that she'd need to sew back together but knowing luck wasn't exactly on my side, realizing only then I had a bullet wound that would definitively require some sewing on the back. I closed my eyes as Abby opened the gown. I could feel her eyes running up and down my back until she landed them on the wound.
- "Is this..." -I felt her hand on my skin- "You've been shot."
- "To ease your mind, it's only Raven and me with bullet wounds." -I glanced at her over my shoulder- "Clarke took my bullet out."
- "We need to treat this now." -I heard her move away- "Take your arm out of the gown and lay down."
I knew it was coming but that didn't stop me from cursing under my breath, feeling hands on my thighs, finding Bellamy looking down at me. Another thing he felt guilty about. That was not his day as far as feeling proud of himself went. I laid on my back again, allowing Abby to tie my torso and arm down this time, moving my head to the side opposite to my wound, clenching my jaw and biting hard on my tongue, feeling Bellamy's hand on mine again.
- "Hey, you got this."
- "I miss Jasper and Monty's booze."
Bellamy chuckled. That was what I wanted to do too but the pain wouldn't let me, only able to scream from time to time when the pain was too much, wishing this day would be over already, finding myself thanking whoever was listening for the fact that the bullet had gotten stuck inside me and not gotten out the other way because I doubted I could handle that same process again.
- "Okay, I'm done. How are you feeling."
- "Like I'm either going to vomit or pass out." -I felt something cold on my forehead- "Or maybe I'll develop some kind of pain tolerance from this."
- "I have to check your back."
- "I wished I had passed out."
Sitting down seemed like an awful ton of work but I knew I had to do it, managing to do it with both Jackson and Bellamy's help, resting my head on the latter's chest as he stood in between my legs once I let my legs hang down the bed. I could hear movement around me but I was too focused on staying awake to focus on it. I felt Bellamy kissing my head, then Jackson saying I was done with the blood transfusion, coming to take the needle from my arm, not finding it in me the strength to press the cotton to my skin, thankful that Bellamy had chosen to stay with me.
- "Okay, Samantha, let's check those cuts."
- "Can't wait."
I was aware of the fact that the only thing keeping me up was Bellamy so when Abby asked me to lay forward I panicked because I didn't want to land on my face. Bellamy kneeled in front of me, his thumbs rubbing soothing circles on my knees, choosing to focus on that, closing my eyes as Abby started doing something to my wounds, hoping it'd be just some type of cream and no more needles.
- "You alright?"
- "We've been through worse, honestly." –I clenched my teeth at the end as I felt a needle on my skin- "Fuck this, seriously."
- "You sure have." –he smiled at me- "Take my hand."
- "You will end up with a couple of broken fingers if we keep doing this." -I eyed him, seeing the hint of a smirk on his lips as he moved his hand over mine- "Don't get any weird ideas."
- "Me? Never."
I shook my head, closing my eyes again as Abby told me she was done closing all my open wounds, saying she'd clean them and I could be on my way. I was certain we couldn't have been in there for more than an hour tops but I felt like I had been sat there the whole day.
- "A couple more seconds and you'll be free."
- "Now that you mention being free..." -Jackson's comment reminded me of something I had been thinking of since they kicked me out of Medbay- "you know what I'd like to get?"
- "Not really."
- "Some actual clothes. I appreciate this gown but honestly, it is so ugly and I can't be running around in this, it'll ruin my reputation." –I smiled trying not to laugh as Bellamy chuckled- "Besides, it's like I'm walking around naked, it's cold down here, you know?"
- "We already found you some clothes." –Abby squeezed my shoulders- "We are done, Samantha, your tolerance to pain has increased since the last time I saw you."
- "Wait." -Bellamy stood up- "You know Sam?"
- "You don't think I stood still in lockup, did you?" -I chuckled as I sat straight- "Long story."
- "I'm sure you mean stories." -Abby stood beside me- "You can change and then come with me and see Raven."
- "That is awesome!" –I rose my hands in triumph, almost jumping from the table.
- "Samantha, you can't be running around now. You need to let those wounds heal."
- "How long?"
- "A couple of weeks."
- "Weeks?" –I almost screamed- "You'll be lucky if we don't get attacked in the next 24 hours."
Abby gave me a look and was about to question me when Bellamy spoke.
- "Sam's right, the Grounders could attack us anytime now. I'll take care of Sam, but she won't stay still for long, trust me." –he looked at me and I grinned- "But if you've met her before, I'm sure you know that."
- "You haven't changed one bit."
- "Abby, I saw you a week before I was sent down; I can't morph into another person that fast."
- "How's your head."
- "I've gotten a couple of crazy ideas, but that comes from before that class."
- "Take it easy."
- "Sure thing, doc."
Abby smiled before moving away, my eyes landing on Bellamy's questioning ones. Those days in solitary seemed so long ago and it wasn't something I wanted to relieve so if he had questions, he'd had to find someone else to answer them. Before he could open his mouth to ask them, Jackson came beside us, placing a pile of clothes beside me as I got down from the bed.
- "I'm so glad I have pants again, my legs were getting cold."
- "Wait," -I glanced over my shoulder to look at Blleamy- "let me at least turn around." –Bellamy argued moving away.
- "Oh, please." –I chuckled as I watched him, taking off the gown and looking at the pants- "As if you hadn't already seen a woman naked."
- "Sam."
- "What?" –I quickly got dressed, finding that Bellamy's belt was on that pile too- "You are so cute, but stop treating me like a sister, would you?" -I put on my shirt- "You can turn around now if you want."
- "Is that how you see me?" –he was soon standing behind me as I put on the belt- "As a brother?"
- "I mean, if you could stop your overprotectiveness and sometimes extreme caution around me, I'd appreciate it."
- "I don't want to be your brother, Sam."
- "That's fine with me; it'd be rather weird if siblings behaved and slept together like us." –I chuckled as I put on my jacket, feeling my shoulder sore from whatever Abby had done- "Now, c'mon, I need to see how my girl is."
I took his hand in mine and started pulling him so that he'd follow me, finding some resistance so I eyed him in time to see him bust out laughing, furrowing my eyebrows for just a second before he walked past me, pulling me with him. When we got to where Raven was, Finn had her hand on hers and Abby had a needle on her hand and I couldn't help but wonder how that'd turn out. I let go of Bellamy, standing next to Raven, opposite to Finn, running my finger gently over her cheek, a smile making way to her lips but she still looked so tired, like she had been awake for days.
- "Hey, Sam." -her voice was nothing more than a whisper- "You look okay."
- "I won't ask you how you are feeling."
- "Do I look that bad?"
- "You do look like you need to sleep some more."
- "I do."
- "But first we are going to check your legs." –Abby interrupted our conversation and I turned to face her- "Tell me if you feel anything."
Raven nodded, looking down myself to see her moving her hand so I held it, squeezing gently before Abby started testing if Raven had suffered any nerve damage on either of her legs. I felt my nerves spiking, trying to look as calm as I could not to make Raven any more nervous than she was. I felt a hand reaching for my free hand, not needing to look up to see it was Bellamy, squeezing his hand to thank him without moving my eyes from Abby's every move. She placed the needle on Raven's right foot and moved it from bottom to top as Raven's fingers moved due to the contact, cheering silently as Raven confirmed she had felt that.
- "Good, now the left."
Abbie proceeded to do the same on Raven's other foot, but nothing happened. I saw it in Raven's face. Something was wrong. Her leg seemed okay but she couldn't feel the needle. Raven was speechless but the one who had a lot to say was Finn, losing his temper easily than I had ever seen him, wanting Abby to repeat the test because it must have been wrong. I wanted to interfere, say something but Bellamy squeezed my hand, making me look back at him as he shook his head. There wasn't anything I could say really, even if I found my voice.
- "Raven." –Abby's voice regained my attention- "I want you to tell me when you feel something, okay?"
Raven nodded, her hold on my hand getting tighter as Abby proceeded to move the needle up her foot and to her ankle. Still nothing. The needle moved up her lower leg, praying to whoever was listening that Ravn could feel something. Anything.
- "There!" –Raven's voice broke the silence that was starting to get uncomfortable for me as the needle pressed against her upper knee- "Right there!"
- "Okay, good." -Abby nodded, putting the needle away, my eyes landing on Raven and smiling at her, squeezing her hand. If she could feel it there, it couldn't' be that bad, right? -"Raven, it appears that you have significant damage to the nerves in your left leg."
- "Will it get better?"
- "For now, you'll need crutches, but you are alive." –I saw past Abby's sudden positivism and I felt my blood boiling under my skin- "And you are not in pain anymore."
- "But I'm still crippled."
Raven argued inhaling deeply. I felt her frustration and her anger and I hated knowing I could do nothing about it. I hated that with every fiber in my body. Finn was soon next to her again, taking her other hand in his and I realized he wanted a moment with her. I might have not been able to help but I still could read the room.
- "We'll get through this, Raven, I promise." –I kissed her forehead and then looked at Finn- "I'm going to think of a way to get the rest back; if you need anything, let me know."
I left the infirmary, feeling the weight of the world pushing down on my shoulders, threatening to force the Earth to swallow me down. Raven didn't deserve that. It shouldn't be going down like that, she was supposed to be safe, to be okay. If anyone should've gotten nerve damage it was me for all the impulsive and uncalculated decisions I had made since I stepped foot on Earth.
- "Sam," -only then I realized Bellamy was out there with me, his hand still on mine as he pulled on it to make me face him- "There's nothing you could have done." -oh, but there was, he was wrong- "It's not your fault."
- "I should have let you kill Murphy."
Being in the infirmary with Sam had been tough, especially when Abby treated the bullet wound on her shoulder as I saw the tears running down Sam's cheeks from the pain, squeezing my hand until I felt numb but I'd never complain; she had taken that bullet for me. She could've broken my fingers and I'd still owe her. And then, finding out about Raven's state... It broke my heart seeing how angry and heartbroken Sam was over what had happened to her, trying to comfort her, wrapping my arms around her.
- "Sam..."
- "No." –she tried to get rid of me but I'd be damned if I let her go, finally feeling her give in- "You were right and I was wrong." –she buried her face on my chest, moving her arms around me and hugging me tightly- "Raven is now like this because I trusted Murphy again cause I'm so dumb and I swear if he is alive I'm..."
- "Sam? Bellamy? You guys are alive."
Oh no. That is not good. I turned around as Sam got rid of me to see Murphy standing in front of us. I felt Sam tense beside me and, before I could react, she moved, throwing herself over Murphy.
- "You are so dead right now!"
- "Sam, no." –I tried to take her away from Murphy.
- "Sam, Sam, wait." –Murphy covered his face, not fighting her back- "I..."
- "You almost killed two of the most important people in my life; I'll wait when one of us is dead."
I knew I could have pulled her away from him, but I didn't get the chance. We were soon surrounded by guards who took out their shock batons, fear settling in my chest as I realized what they wanted to do.
- "Don't," -I placed myself in front of Sam- "she is hurt."
I tried to stop them, push them away but they hit me with one of the batons; I fell to the floor, cursing under my breath, wanting to turn to look toward where Sam and Murphy were, doing so in time to watch as they hit Sam with the baton too. She fell to the floor but didn't stop fighting. I wished she would but that was Sam.
- "Hit her again."
As they did, I heard footsteps to my other side, turning my head to see Marcus Kane come into sight, still trying to control my breath. I heard Murphy complain and I knew they had hit him too, a thump on the floor.
- "Place them under arrest."
Kane didn't bother looking at us. I turned to face Sam again. She was lying on her back gasping for air through her lips, a tear running down her cheek before one of the guards forced her on her stomach.
- "Wait, wait!" –Finn came out of the infirmary running- "You don't understand. Murphy murdered two of our people, he shot Sam and Raven and he hanged Bellamy."
- "I don't care, you are not animals." –Kane answered- "There are rules."
Kane turned to face me as two guards tied my hands and made me rise from the ground. I didn't hold his gaze, looking at Sam who had her eyes glued to Kane. I knew how that would end.
- "There are laws." -Kane continued, his eyes moving behind me, to Murphy I assumed- "You are not in control here anymore."
- "You just wait."
Kane moved towards Sam with a threatening look on his face that almost equaled Sam's. I tried to get rid of the two guards but they stroke me again with the baton for resisting and I was left there just to watch afraid of what would come next.
- "I don't know who you think you are, but I'm now in charge around here and you will obey." –he looked at another guard- "Take her."
- "I have no plans on being your puppet, Kane. This is not the Ark and you will find out soon enough."
- "Enough, Besnik."
- "Are you going to hit me?" –Sam almost spat looking up at Kane for he had risen his hand to silence her- "I'm not scared of you."
Kane nodded at the guard behind Sam, who had his baton out, and he hit her again with it, watching as her body gave in. She'd have fallen on her face if the guards weren't holding her up. After that, he handcuffed her and Kane nodded at the guards who took us to a cell. Once we were in it, they untied us both and left us there, closing the doors after them. I started pacing the room as Sam remained sat with her back on a pillar.
- "Sorry."
- "For...?"
- "For bringing you into this mess." –Sam pointed out looking around us as I paused in front of her.
- "I told you if you got locked up, I'd be there with you." –she smiled- "But you should have stopped."
- "Sure." –she scoffed rolling her eyes as I squatted in front of her- "But someone had to let Kane know how things work around here."
- "And what did you get in exchange for your help?"
- "Three shocks with that electric shit. Wait until I get one of those..."
- "Shh." –I laughed shaking my head- "I don't need you getting in trouble yet again. Stop for at least a couple of hours, could you do that?"
- "I mean," –she rose her eyebrow at me- "I can try but I can't promise it."
- "You alright then?"
- "Uh, yeah, I'm not bleeding this time."
- "Good, you know..."
- "You don't want your blood spilled all over the place, got it, Blake." -I patted her lower leg as I nodded- "I still want one of those batons. I'm sure whoever has our people will love them. I'm sure I'm gonna get a couple of bruises."
- "Yeah, me too."
- "Thank you."
- "For what now?"
- "For trying to protect me."
Always. I stroke her cheek and she smiled, leaning against my hand. At that moment, the door behind us started opening and I rose in front of Sam watching as Kane entered the room alone.
- "How long are you going to keep us locked up in here?"
- "Until I'm confident you're no longer a threat to others."
- "Then we are going to be here for a while."
Sam whispered behind me as I tried not to smile at her words. Kane took a chair from one side of the cell and placed it in front of another, sitting on one and pointing at the other one as he looked at me.
- "I need information."
- "Now you need our help?" –Sam mocked him as she rose from the floor- "I thought you were in charge around here and therefore knew everything there's to know."
- "And because I'm in charge, you are going to tell me everything you know about those you call 'Grounders'. Murphy said there were hundreds of them attacking. Two? Three hundred?"
- "I didn't count." –I clenched my fits, feeling Sam's hand on my arm.
- "Why do you think they attacked? What provoked them?"
- "We were here, that was enough." –I looked at Sam and she nodded- "We are wasting time; the others didn't just vanish into thin air. They were taken."
- "And we are going to go after them." –Sam ended for me.
- "A search team is prepping to leave, but not before we've gotten the intel from you both."
- "I need to be on that team, please." –I begged sitting on the chair in front of him.
- "It's out of the question. You're not trained. It's too dangerous."
- "And who exactly is in that super prepared team then? A couple of guards from the Ark who know absolutely nothing from this place? Sounds like a great plan to me, yeah." –Sam scoffed as she stood beside me, throwing her hands in the air. She is not wrong- "If you want to succeed you need Bellamy in your team. He is the reason we survived. You won't survive without him."
- "And you?" –Kane questioned her- "You don't want to go?"
- "Of course, I do. Those are my people out there." –Sam crossed her arms over her chest, resting her weight on her good leg; I felt the impulse to pull her to sit on my lap but didn't- "But I know that if you are going to trust one of us, it is going to be the one who doesn't have a reputation and caused less trouble today, and that's definitely not me."
- "They are my people too."
- "Are you sure?"
- "Sam..." –I warned her, her eyes finding mine and I shook my head. She let out a sigh and rolled her eyes but didn't say anything else.
- "You want to help them? Tell me what we're up against." -Kane spoke to me now- "Grounder tactics, their numbers, what kind of weapons they used."
- "Arrows and spears, axes, swords. Their teeth."
- "No guns?" –I shook my head in denial- "You had guns."
- "The guns we found at the aid depot leveled the playing field. Maybe if we had more bullets, we could've..."
- "There were more bullets." –Kane interrupted me- "Search team just returned from the bunker, they found two more barrels with rifles and a third filled with bullets."
That couldn't be. Or it could. After Dax came after us, Clarke and I hadn't bothered to go look for more barrels. That had been a mistake.
- "Stop torturing yourself." –Sam placed a hand on my shoulder, squeezing as I met her eyes before she faced Kane- "You think you could have ended that army just with bullets? You haven't seen them. We ended them, we survived, we move on."
Kane was ready to answer Sam, but he never got the chance as the sound of the cell's door opening grabbed our attention. I furrowed my eyebrows as I stood up, pulling Sam behind me just enough to be the one faced first with what was coming. After the first guard came in, the reason Sam and I were in that cell walked inside: Murphy, tied up and with two guards, one at each side. I wasn't sure if it was to protect Kane from him or protect Murphy from Sam.
- "What is he doing here?" -I glanced at Sam as she murmured behind me- "Stop being overprotective." -she took a step beside me- "I can handle this."
- "I've seen it."
- "Excuse me, sir," -the first guard faced Kane- "Dr. Griffin cleared Mr. Murphy out of medical."
- "I clearly didn't beat Mr. Murphy hard enough." –the venom carefully intertwined with sarcasm as she pronounced Mr. Murphy didn't go unnoticed- "I didn't get a Miss Besnik. If everyone has to figure out who I am, they should at least put some respect to my name."
I shoved her to the side gently, not wanting to laugh but knowing I would if she kept going down that road. Her eyes had never been on me, following Murphy's every move and I knew she'd throw herself at him if she saw the opportunity. I turned my head as it was announced that Murphy would remain in the cells with us, watching as they moved him to the wall and tied him to it before another guard commanded Sam and me to get on our knees.
- "You are not seriously locking me... us, up with him, right? How long do you think it'll take us to kill each other exactly?"
Sam reluctantly got on her knees as she didn't get an answer. I was pulled up to the other side of the room and handcuffed like Murphy was opposite to me. They took Sam to a pillar in the middle of the room and made her sat against it, tying her up to it. They really thought we'd kill each other.
- "Well, this should be fun."
Sam rolled her eyes and laid against the wall behind her as the guard finished tying her up. There was no more room to discuss this as we heard gunshots outside, Kane commanding all the guards there to follow him, leaving us three there tied up away from each other. We could hear people screaming but we didn't know what was going on.
- "Yeah, I screamed too at the Grounder's camp. I did everything I could not to scream but eventually..."
- "But eventually you broke and you told them everything."
- "And you wouldn't have because you are better than me."
- "Damn right." -Murphy was lucky I had my hands cuffed- "I'm not a traitor. I didn't tell them where they could find us."
- "Are you both going to be like this the whole time?" –Sam interrupted us, her eyes on me before she turned to Murphy- "Yeah, you broke and shit went down, fine. It's good enough you even survived that. But you didn't have to try and kill us or shoot Raven."
- "I didn't want to kill you, I care abo..."
- "Save it for someone who cares." -Sam's tone was cutting, Murphy's mouth closing slowly as his head fell forward- "And you," -I gulped unintentionally as her eyes landed on me- "Bellamy, you're better than this."
- "But..."
- "No buts." –she cut me this time- "Now, how about we think of something to get out of this one, huh?"
- "We are tied to the walls and can't move."
- "Yeah, that's why I said 'think' and didn't just get up and leave." –Sam scoffed at Murphy's words.
- "We are not getting out of this one."
- "Oh, great! I can't believe I got myself locked up with the two most negative people on the universe."
- "I'm not negative, I was just stating a fact. However, your boyfriend over there knows how to kill the mood."
I tensed as Murphy spoke with venom in his lips. Boyfriend? We are not together, why would he even say that? I didn't know what to do; I was angry he was even here. I was sure with a couple more seconds and had Sam not been so fast, it'd have been me beating him up. And now that.
- "At least my so-called boyfriend over there didn't try to kill me and actually saved my dead ass, Murphy. Besides, why do you even care what Bellamy and I are?"
- "I don't."
- "Really? Then next time try to sound less bothered and then I may believe you."
- "Sam..."
- "No." –Sam attempted to move but she was tied tight to the pillar- "I don't trust you. You almost killed two of the people I care about the most; thankfully Bellamy is just fine but Raven..." –she closed her eyes, watching as she clenched her jaw- "If she never gets to walk around without help again, I'll kill you. And this time not even Kane will get you away from me."
Murphy sighed and gave me a quick glance, almost as if he were looking for an out. I focused on Sam: she had her eyes closed, licking her lips as she rested her head back against the metal, stretching her legs in front of her and relaxing her body. She must have felt my eyes on her for hers ended up landing on me, a smile on her lips and a knowing look that had always managed to comfort me.
- "You should probably relax, getting out of here may take a while."
I hated being tied up. I hated not having complete autonomy over my own body and being restrained only angered me more than I already was. But I had to remain calm before my rage ate me alive. I couldn't move and it wasn't like Bellamy was in a talkative mood with Murphy in front of him. I just hoped I'd fall asleep and get it over with.
- "Get up, we're going after the rest."
Finn entered the cell out of nowhere, moving to cut Bellamy's ties first while Monroe guarded the door as I wondered how the hell they had gotten the keys.
- "It's about time."
- "Yeah, how about you help me too, huh?"
I argued looking at Finn, pointing behind me to my tied hands for him to free me; he quickly cut the rope around my wrists before Bellamy helped me up, looking at me as I simply nodded, letting him know I was okay, thanking Finn and then we moved towards the exit.
- "Hey, wait! What about me?"
Murphy's voice made the four of us stop. Bellamy looked at Finn who shook his head in denial and then at me.
- "Don't look at me, you are the boss here." –I rose my hands in front of Bellamy- "I'm not making that call."
But, he could be useful. Bellamy took the pliers from the ground and moved towards Murphy who crouched even more against the wall as he approached him as if he feared Bellamy would hurt him instead of cut his ties.
- "Wait, no!" –Finn yelled moving towards Bellamy- "What are you doing?"
- "He's coming with us." –he said as he cut Murphy's ties and made him stand up.
- "No way."
- "He's been to the Grounder's camp."
- "He's right, okay? I can take you there."
- "Hey," –Monroe interrupted us- "Sterling just signaled, someone's coming."
- "C'mon people!" –I moved towards Monroe and turned to face the three guys- "What could go wrong?"
Finn looked at me and then at the other two. I started walking away as I heard him sigh and then steps behind me as I smiled. This shall be fun. We moved in silence, trying not to grab anyone's attention and getting out of the camp as fast as we could, only speaking once we were far enough. Bellamy did but Finn was quick to shush him, saying someone could hear us, and not even two seconds after, someone came to our encounter.
- "We've been busted." –I noted as a light moved over my face- "Great."
But, what came next, was something I couldn't have anticipated. The light turned off and Abby was soon standing in front of me, glancing beside me and telling Finn that he was late. Well now that I did not see coming. This is an interesting alliance, I wonder how long it will last.
- "Bellamy decided to bring company."
- "Murphy is the only person that's been in their camp."
Abby nodded to Bellamy's words, handing Finn a gun and one to me.
- "You wouldn't happen to know where my bow went, do you?"
- "Finn brought it back," -I turned to look at Finn, thanking him before Abby continued- "it's at Medical but we don't have arrows so I brought you a gun that will be more useful. I assume you all can use them..."
- "Keep it safe, please."
Abby nodded, not asking again about our knowledge on guns, moving back as the guard that came with her approached Bellamy. I felt the need to stand by his side, a part of me still thought the guard would hurt Bellamy even if his crimes had been pardoned.
- "Here, find my son." -the guard handed Bellamy his rifle- "His name is Nathan Miller."
- "Bring them home."
Finn nodded to Abby's words and started moving followed by Monroe. I looked at Abbie and Miller's father one more time and then I followed Monroe; I turned around for a second to see Murphy coming right behind me, followed by Bellamy who nodded at me as I gave him a small smile. Sterling came last after Bellamy. It's going to be a long night. Jasper, here I come.
