Chapter 45

08:36, 17 September 2025

Esined

I was in my room, wrapping my towel around my body and someone came into my room without knocking. August closed the door and stood there for a minute.

"August, are you okay?" I held onto my towel.

He didn't respond, he stumbled for a moment as he made his way to my bed. He plopped down. He lifted his head up, noticing that I was only in a towel. "C'mere baybeh,"

"Let me get dressed first,"

"Nah nah. Just like dat,"

I shook my head.

"I just wanna hold you,"

"You're being weird," I let out a nervous laugh.

"I am? I don't mean ta be,"

"I'll be back," I said, grabbing my clothes. I went to the bathroom and closed the door. I put on my pajamas and pulled my hair into a ponytail. I wrapped my hair around until it went into a bun. I secured it and looked at myself before going back to my room.

August was laid flat on my bed, staring at the ceiling.

"August," I said.

He didn't respond immediately. It took him a minute, but he sat up. He motioned for me to go to him.

I walked up to him and stood in between his legs.

He pulled me closer to him and wrapped his arms around me. He put his head on my chest and rubbed my lower back.

"Are you okay?"

"I can't feel my head or my chest," he mumbled, looking up at me.

"What do you mean?"

"You're so pretty. Man, I'm lucky," he sighed. "I got a beautiful ass girlfriend who loves and takes care of me no matter how whiny I'm bein'. You always reassurin' me of stuff I should be sure of. I should trust you a lot mo'. You ain't gon' hurt me, right?" he looked up at me with hopeful eyes.

"I'm not," I placed my hands on his shoulders.

"I mean, you was trippin' earlier, but I kinda see why. You ain't used ta me bein' like dis, so you don't know how ta react to it. I understand,"

"I know I was tripping. I'm sorry about that. I'm still trying to figure out what you said-"

"Shh. Shh," he reached up and covered my mouth.

I looked at him and he slowly removed his hand.

"Aug-"

"Don't even worry about dat, okay?"

"Is it that bad?"

"Probably ta you,"

"Tell me,"

"You gon' judge me,"

"No, I'm not,"

He sighed, staring at the floor.

"August,"

He stayed quiet.

"Baby," I moved my hands to his face and turned his face to me. "Tell me,"

"What do you think of smokin'?"

"I don't like it,"

"Why not?"

"Because I grew up with a dad who smoked like a chimney. I didn't like. Besides, it's bad for you. Don't tell me you smoke cigarettes,"

"No no. I smoke weed,"

I didn't say anything.

"You mad at me?"

"Mm. Not really,"

"I shoulda told you soona, huh?"

"That would have been nice to know before hand," I laughed.

"I'm sorry. You still luh me?"

I nodded. "Of course,"

"You so understandin'," he said.

I giggled. "Your eyes are so low and red,"

"They are? I ain't look at myself yet,"

"How does it feel?"

"Ta be high?"

I nodded.

"I don't know. I get a lot of different feelings. I feel like my chest is cavin' in right now,"

"Does it hurt?"

"Duh,"

I glared and he chuckled.

"Does it hurt?" he mocked my voice. "I said my chest feel like it's cavin' in, of course dats gon' hurt,"

"You are so mean," I laughed.

"Mhm," he wrapped his arms around me tighter.

"You're moving a lot,"

"I don't feel like I'm moving at all," he laughed. He lifted me up and pulled me into his lap as if I didn't weigh anything. He put his head on my chest and hummed a song to himself.

I rubbed the back of his head and listened to him.

He tapped his fingers on my lower back and looked up at me. He leaned up and kissed me.

I kissed him back, parting my lips.

He swiped his tongue across my bottom lip.

I gave him access and opened my mouth more. Our tongues met and danced at a slow rhythm.

He laid back slowly, pulling me down with him.

I straddled him, not breaking our kiss.

He sucked on my bottom lip and gripped my ass.

Our slow make out had become more passionate and slightly aggressive by the second.

August reached his left hand up and rested it on my side. His hand moved up further and further until he had one of my bare breasts in his hand. He cupped and massaged it as we kissed slowly. He rubbed his thumb over my nipple.

I naturally began to grind against him and let out soft moans.

He pulled away from the kiss and flipped us over. He was on top and in between my legs. He kissed my neck and sucked, leaving his love marks. He made his way down further, kissing my chest.

My breathing became more uneven. "S-Stop," I blurted, not wanting things to get more carried away than they already were.

He immediately stopped and looked at me. "What's wrong? You okay?"

"I-I'm sorry... We need to stop,"

"Don't apologize. It's okay. You aren't ready,"

"I was too into the moment to stop you. I didn't mean to lead you on. That was really wr-"

"Shh. It's okay,"

"It's late... I think-"

"I know," he stood.

I followed him over to the door. "Sorry," I mumbled.

"It's okay, baybeh. I'm not upset, okay?"

I nodded. "Okay,"

"Goodnight. Sleep good," he leaned down and kissed me.

I kissed him back and pulled away. "Goodnight," I watched him leave and go to his room. I closed my door and sighed, leaning against it. I wiped my face down and shook my head. "What was I thinking?" I asked myself.

I tried to get my mind off of what had could have taken place. I felt bad for letting things even get as far as they did. I'm just not ready for all of that yet and besides, I respect his mama and her home too much.

I couldn't just tell Ms. Sheila that I respect her and say that August and I aren't having sex yet, then turn around and have sex with him in my bedroom.

I'm not even ready for that. Besides I don't believe in premarital sex, but that clearly was flying out the window when I was all over him like that.

Next day

I naturally woke up at six am, then I remembered that I was suspended. I went to the bathroom and washed my face then brushed my teeth. I patted my face dry before leaving the bathroom.

I went to the kitchen and August was in there with Ms. Sheila. I felt like she knew what we were doing last night.

"Good morning, Esined," she smiled.

"Good morning, Ms. Sheila," I smiled back as I poured myself a cup of orange juice.

"Morning, baybeh. You slept good?" August asked.

"I slept okay. How'd you sleep?" I took my seat next to him.

"Amazin'," he stared at me.

"That's good," I stared back at him. "Um, how'd you sleep, Ms. Sheila?"

"I slept well. Thanks fa askin'. Esined, if you get tired of bein' home, I could use your help at work,"

"I'd love to help," I smiled.

"Great. I'll be leavin' at eight,"

"I'll be ready,"

My phone vibrated and I looked at it.

SnuggaPoo: You good? 6:17 am

I flipped it back over and he stared at me. I nodded.

"You tryna talk about it?" he asked quietly.

"When you get home from school we can,"

"Is it about last night?"

"Yeah,"

"I thought we were good,"

"I just have something to tell you,"

"Can it be discussed now or does it have ta wait?"

I shrugged.

"I got time ta talk. Come on,"

I followed him to his room and we sat on his bed.

"What's wrong, ma?"

"Last night... I don't know how to say this,"

He held my hands. "Just say it,"

"I don't believe in premarital sex,"

He chuckled. "Alright. Anything else?"

"You're not gonna be upset or anything?"

"Why would I be upset?"

"Because I don't want to have sex before marriage,"

"Only a lil ass boy would get upset over dat. Sex ain't a necessity ta me. I can live without it. I haven't had sex in months, I'm sure that I can go longa without it,"

I couldn't even hide my smile.

"Plus besides, you ain't ready fa all dat. I ain't gon' force you ta do it or make you feel bad about not wantin' to do it. Dat ain't gon' make you give it ta me. I know how y'all girls are, y'all virginity is special ta y'all. Yours is special ta me too, ya feel me?"

I nodded. "Yeah,"

"Whenever you feel it's right, then it'll happen. Trust me, we weren't gonna do it last night anyway. I knew ta stop, but I was tryna get a lil feel honestly. I'd prefer it ta be a lot mo' romantic or just how you want it ta be,"

"Thanks for being honest with me,"

"No problem. I'm glad you told me. I just want you ta know dat I am willin' to wait fa you. I'd ratha have a relationship based on love than lust,"

"I completely agree. Thank you for understanding,"

"Mhm. I gotta get ta school. Gimme some suga," he stood up.

"You sound like a grandma," I giggled.

He leaned down and gave me a kiss. "Have fun at work wit my mama. Be good,"

"As always," I said in a singalong voice.

"Except last night," he sung.

"Shut up," I hit his arm and he laughed.

"Bye baybeh. I'ma miss you,"

"Go to school, clingy boy,"

"I'll be dat," he knocked on Viola's door and I went to my room. I picked out an outfit to wear and laid it across my bed.

I made it simple, but sophisticated.

When it came time for Ms. Sheila to leave, I left with her and asked her what I'd be doing.

"You'll most likely just take and make appointments fa me. Maybe run some errands and get things fa the workas,"

"Basically run around for you guys?"

"Well when you put it like dat," we began to laugh together.

"It's cool. I like working,"

"Dats good. At least you aren't the type of girl ta sit on her behind and wait her man ta make moves,"

"Never that. I have to work, like I just can't sit on my butt. Not downing the girls or women who do, but I like to make money and have a guy who makes it too,"

"See. You're what a mama hopes fa in a daughter and an in law," she laughed. "Lord, please keep Yung wit her,"

I laughed. "Lord, please keep me with August,"

We both laughed together.

"I'm like really happy dat he has a girl like you. I feel like you're a blessing fa him in disguise. He got his heart broken and lost his dad, then you were there, right on time, and it seemed like everything was peachy wit him again. You have a strong impact on him,"

I smiled. "Awe. My goodness," I fanned at my eyes.

"I know dat he still cries at night sometimes and he'd probably be mad at me fa tellin' you, but he's not the happiest he could be,"

"Because of his dad?"

She nodded. "His dads birthday is comin' up and I know he'll try ta hide his feelings,"

"Can we do something special for him or do you think he'd like to be alone that day?"

"You can neva tell wit Aug. If he starts gettin' quiet, just know it's not you,"

"Thanks for the heads up,"

We pulled up to her job and made our way inside after parking.

There was a man sitting at a desk when we walked in.

"Looks like my assistant is here and I didn't even know it. I thought you called off sick, Charles," Ms. Sheila said to him, completely turning off her thick New Orleans accent.

"I did, but I felt better after I called off, so I came in. You didn't get my message?"

"I didn't check. I was driving. Well since you're here, maybe you can help Esined out and show her around. Show her what you usually do. She'll be up here some days this week and next week," she said.

"Okay," he sighed.

"Hey, play nice. No flirting, she's my sons' girlfriend,"

"Which one?"

"Why does that matter?"

"Because Melvin is the crazy one," he mumbled.

"What was that?"

"Nothing, Ms. Sheila. I'll make sure to show her around and not flirt,"

"Thank you," she said and walked down the hall.

"I'm Charles," he stood up from his desk, revealing his full height. He was taller than August. He had to be at least six-four. He reached his hand out.

"I'm Esined," I shook his firm hand.

"Nice name,"

"Thank you,"

"Yeah. Are you ready to be shown around?"

"Yes," I said. I followed him around the building. "So what do y'all do here?"

"Nice accent," He chuckled. "Basically, it's couples therapy and match making,"

"That's cool. Reminds me of that one movie by Tyler Perry... You look like the guy in the movie,"

"Lance Gross?"

"Yeah. Him," I said.

"I get that a lot,"

"I bet," I laughed.

He chuckled. "But yeah, all the lonely cat ladies come in here looking for love,"

"Awe. That's not nice. Don't call them cat ladies,"

"Not nice, but true," Charles turned to an elder woman who was walking by us. "See you next week, Ms. Shirley," he smiled, showing his straight, white teeth.

"See you next week," she smiled as he held the door for her.

"She's a cat lady," he said after she left.

I covered my mouth, trying not to let a giggle escape my lips.

"So, tell me about yourself," he said.

"I don't know where to start," I said.

"How old are you?"

"Seventeen,"

"I'm assuming that you're August's girl,"

"Yeah," I smiled.

"How long have you two been together?"

"A little while," I said, not wanting to give him specific details on our relationship. "How old are you?"

"I'm twenty," he said.

"Really?"

"Yeah,"

"You look so much older,"

He looked at me.

"I-I mean, it's not in a bad way,"

"It's cool. I get that a lot,"

Charles and I carried our conversation as he showed me around the whole office. He then showed me what he did as an assistant and we did a few errands together. We did simple things like making copies for the other employees or making appointments.

When lunch time came around, I was starving. Just as Charles was about to ask me something, my phone began to vibrate. He closed his mouth as I answered my phone.

"Hello?"

"I hope you hungry because I'm takin' you out fa lunch," August said.

"Awe, that's so sweet of you. I'm starving,"

"I'm hea,"

"Okay. I'm gonna tell your mama then I'll be right down,"

"Aiight," he said.

I hung up and looked at Charles. "What were you saying?"

"Never mind. It seems like you have lunch plans," Charles chuckled.

"Oh. Well thanks for being thoughtful anyway,"

"No problem,"

I went to Ms. Sheila's office. "Hey, Ms. Sheila. August is gonna take me to lunch. Did you want anything?"

"No, I'm fine. Thank you,"

"No problem,"

"Esined,"

"Yes?"

"You can call me Sheila. You don't have to say Ms,"

"Okay," I smiled.

"If you want, you can go home. You don't have to come back if you're bored or just want to rest," she said.

"You sure?"

"Yeah. I think Charles got it,"

"Okay. I'll see you when you get home," I said.

"See you later. Thanks for helping out today,"

"No problem," I gave her a smile before leaving. I told Charles goodbye and left the office. I took the elevator down to the first floor and exited the building.

August was parked in the front and waiting on me.

"Hi," I smiled.

"Hey, pretty lady," he smiled and gave me a brief hug. He walked me over to the passenger side and opened the door for me. He closed the door after I got in and circled over to his side.

We decided on somewhere quick to eat because he was running out of time and he had to get back to school.

"I wish I had mo' time ta spend wit you," he pouted as he pulled up to the house.

"I'll see you in two hours,"

"Dese two hours bouta be hell,"

I laughed. "You got this, champ," I fake coached him. "You're gonna go in there and you're gonna give it all you got,"

"Thanks coach," he laughed. "I enjoyed lunch witchu,"

"Awe, I enjoyed it too. Thanks for taking me out," I smiled.

"No problem. Gimme lips so I can go,"

I leaned over and kissed him.

He kissed me back and smiled when I pulled away.

I got out of his car and he rolled down the window.

"Aye!" he called when I got up to the door.

"Yes?" I looked back.

"I luh you, baybeh!"

I smiled. "I love you too, Snugga Poo. Have a nice day!"

His face went straight and I started laughing as I unlocked the door. I went into the house and waved. I saw him smile as he drove off.

I closed the door and sighed. I didn't even know what to do for the two hours I'd have to wait for August to get home, but I knew I'd figure something out. I decided to take a nap.

-Hallo. Wie gehts? (how are you)

Late with this update. I've been singing all day. Plus snapchat distracted me. Sorry.

I switched the plot from how I originally had it. I forgot to tell y'all.

Anyway. I hope y'all enjoyed the chapter and stuff.
