Island of Kyoshi

"Ugh! What's taking so long Uncle?"Lillian groaned as she rested her arms on the pai sho table, "Can't we just play one game before we report to Prince grumpy?"Lillian begged as she gave Iroh her best puppy dog eyes. Iroh looked up from the map and snickered at the young girl, "Patients my dear, are you in such a rush to lose?" Lillian rolled her eyes, "We haven't played a game in 2 weeks, i just want to be sure that I can still beat you." Iroh was not amused but allowed a smile to fall on his face, "Very well, let's just go give this report to Gru- I uh mean my nephew and then we can play."Lillian burst out laughing, "your were going to say grump pants weren't you???" Lillian wiped a tear away from her eye as Iroh made his way out the door, she stood up and followed close behind. Lillian and Iroh stood outside Zuko's door, Iroh gave Lillian a sly smile before handing her the map, " What am I suppose to do with this?" Lillian asked as she watched Iroh retreat, " Would you be a dear and give that to my nephew, I believe that I left my tea pot on!" Lillian grabbed the back of Iroh's collar before he could make his get away and raised the map to his face, " Sorry Uncle, but this is your grumpy baby!" Lillian gave Iroh a teethy grin as they opened the door.

Zuko sat alone in his room, he had a lot on his mind. So many things were racing through his head, what Zhao had said and how he was so focused on a Tenshi and then Lillian. Zuko shivered under that thought, the way Zhao touched Lillian made his blood boil....But why? Why did he feel this way whenever he thought about her or about anyone else hurting her. Zuko watched the flames of his candles, 'Different in appearance....' Zhao's voice ran through his head then suddenly an image of Lillian appeared in the flames and then... she vanished! Zuko held his head in his hand, " She's just different, she's not one of them... She's just Lilly..." He said to himself as he closed his eyes and began to meditate.

General Iroh pushed the door open, as he walked in Lillian noticed that Zuko sat in the lotus position and was meditating, " The only reason you should be interupting me is if you have news about the Avatar." Zuko said, Lillian's eyes grew wide, 'Nope! Not in the mood to see a tantrum!' Lillian thought to her self as she made her to the door but was stopped by Iroh's hand on her shoulder, " Well there is news Prince Zuko but you might not like it. Don't get too upset." Iroh said as he gave Lillian an encouraging smile, " Uncle, You taught me that keeping a level head is the sign of a great leader, Now what ever you have to say I am sure I can take it." Zuko said as he took a deep breath, " Ok then... We have no idea where he is." Lillian crouched to the floor to avoid Zuko's outburst, "Yeah... Calm head, not." Lillian mumbled to herself, Iroh took out his fan and handed Zuko the map. Lillian dusted herself off and stood besides Zuko as he looked at the map with a few confusing squiggly lines on. " There have been mulitple reports from the villages where they have spotted him, but other than that we don't seem to have a good lead, he seems impossible to track down." Lillian said as she ran her finger over the lines on the map, Lillian felt Zuko's shoulders tense, " How am i going to find him? He is clearly a master of evasive maneuver." Iroh placed his hand on Zuko's shoulder before he left.

Lillian sat down on Zuko's bed and watched as he paced up and down, " He couldn't have gone far." Lillian said as her eyes stayed on Zuko, " Please just sit down... You need to rest." Lillian said in a gentle tone, " I'll rest when I have him in chains." Zuko growled as he gripped the map even tighter. Lillian sighed and stared at the floor, Zuko was obsessed and it was unhealthy. Zuko stopped his pacing a looked over at Lillian, she was staring at the floor deep in thought. " I Know!!! Zuko! Take your clothes off" Lillian burst out as she jumped to her feet, " Your coming swimming with me right now!" Zuko widened his eyes in shock, " Excuse me? Wha-" Lillian groaned as she pulled her armor off, " oh come on! Just do it!" She grabbed Zuko's armor and pulled it off over his head ," Lillian what on earth?" When Zuko's armor was removed he noticed Lillian before him only wearing her wrap and shorts, "Hurry up Zuko! I'll be waiting for you outside, don't make me undress you." Lillian said with a wink as she walked out the door. After some time Zuko finally came out in his shorts on and a slight blush, "Great! Let's go!" Lillian grabbed Zuko's arm and pulled him towards the deck, Zuko stumbled behind Lillian barley keeping up. Lillian placed her fingers at her mouth and gave a sharp whistle once they were on deck, Zuko was barley able to see what the guards were doing when Lillian pulled him up behind her on Kasai, "You better hold on tight Prince Prissy!" Lillian said over her shoulder as she kicked Kasai's ribs and yelled, " Kasai! Janpu!" And with that Kasai took off with a jolt and jumped off the ship, Zuko wrapped his arms around Lillian's waist in fright, "Lilly!!!!" He yelled and then there was a splash. Iroh ran to the side of the ship as he tried to comprehend what had just happened. "What is the meaning of this!!!" Zuko yelled as he floated on the surface," Lillian swam around him with only her eyes visible. Zuko raised his brow and began swimming to the ship, "Don't worry about us Uncle! We'll catch up soon!" Lillian waved at the General looking over board.

Kasai popped up with a fish in his mouth in front of Zuko before he could even get to the ship. Lillian climbed on Kasai's back and held her hand out to Zuko, " Come on Zuko, Just spend 10 minutes with me, no avatar, no crew just us... Like old times?" Lillian's eyes sparkled like rubies when Zuko stared into them, how could he say no? " Fine..." Zuko growled as he took he hand and got up behind her. Kasai swam slowly behind the ship occasionally diving down which resulted in Zuko and Lillian nearly drowning. Lillian floated on her back as Zuko swam besides her, " It's funny, isn't it?" Lillian whispered as she watched the clouds in the sky, "How quickly we both had to leave our childhood behind and grow up to be these boring teenagers..." Zuko didn't say anything but only watched her. Lillian was silent for a while before she spoke again, "What's going to happenwhen this is all over?" She rolled back on her stomach and swam besides him, " When what's over?" Zuko asked as he stared at her, Lillian shrugged her shoulders, "When you catch the Avatar and go home... Are things going back to how they were?" Lillian asked in a soft whisper, " I mean... I know that you need to claim the throne and all that, but... our friendship. Are we just going to go back to everything that will most probably be the same as before?" Zuko stopped in the water and watch Lillian swim, he gazed at her scars that were on her back, "things will never be the same again." Zuko said as he stared at her. Lillian swam up to Zuko so that she was right in front of him, she placed her left hand on his shoulder and held out her pinky, "Promise?" Zuko shivered at her touch and felt his heart rate increase, 'What in Agni is going on with me?' he thought to himself as he wrapped his pinky around Lillian's, " I promise." Zuko whispered. Zuko stared at Lillian for a few seconds before he felt both her arms snake around his neck, she was so close to him. Zuko felt the heat raise up to his face when Lillian smiled at him, she leaned up to his ear " Zuko..." she whispered and his whole body filled with heat as she whispered once more, " Hold your breath!" And with a sudden push Lillian dunked Zuko under the water. Zuko rushed up gasping for air as Lillian held her hand over her mouth to suppress her laughter, "What was that for???" Zuko yelled, "for fun, hehe you should have seen your face." Lillian giggled, she closed her eyes and wiped a tear away, when she opened her eyes Zuko was gone, " Real funny Zuko, you can come up now." Lillian said with a smirk as she swam around but when there was no sign of him she panicked, "Zuko!?!?! Where are you?" Lillian yelled as she swam frantically around. Lillian finally took a deep breath and swam down searching for Zuko but only saw darkness. Lillian resurfaced and took another deep breath before swimming below the surface staring down the dark abyss of water, suddenly two arms wrapped around her waist and pulled her to the surface. When Lillian opened her eyes she saw Zuko grinning before her, "Gotcha!" he said as he began to laugh, Lillian's eyes filled with tears as she watched him, "Your okay?" she whispered. Zuko looked at Lillian's tear filled eyes, " Uh...sorry I guess that was a bad joke. Um.... we should be heading back to the ship." Zuko said as he held Lillian's arm, "yeah... horrible joke." she sobbed. Kasai swam under them and came up so that both of them were on his back, " Will Kasai be able to catch up to the ship?" Zuko asked as he helped Lillian dry out her hair, Lillian smirked, " just hold on tight." Zuko wrapped his arms around Lillian's waist as Kasai sped through the water. Lillian looked down at Zuko's arms around her and realized how close he actually was, she could feel his heart beat through his chest as he rested against her back. Lillian's face heated up as she focused on him but then a thought crossed her mind... 'Zuko is the prince of the Fire Nation and I am the Princess of the Tenshi Sky temple, this... will never work.' Her face regained its normal color and she shook the feeling off.

When Lillian and Zuko made it back to the ship it was already time for dinner, Lillian decided to take an early bath before eating. Lillian sat in the bath inhaling the sweet scent of midnight jasmine. Her bath oils always helped her relax, "ahhh, this is what I needed.." Lillian said as she laid back in the bath almost completely under the water. "Lillian! Where are yo-" Zuko stopped mid sentence as he caught site of Lillian sitting in the bath, "ZUKO! GET OUT!" Lillian yelled as she threw a bar of soap at him, Zuko stood and covered his eyes as he walked to the door, " The uh... um sorry! theavatarisonkyoshi!!!! He yelled as he stumbled out the door. Lillian slumped back in the bath, " So much for relaxing..."

Lillian rode on Kasai as they approached the Island, " I want the avatar alive!" Zuko ordered to her and the men that were on the rhino's. The sun was starting to set, the orange colors filled the sky and fell over the empty village. Lillian held Kasai's reins tightly, 'I hope he doesn't recognize me...' She thought to her self, " Come out Avatar! You can't hide from me forever!" Zuko yelled, Lillian climbed of Kasai and sent him back to the ship. Everything seemed so quiet until a group of woman with green dresses attacked them, the one who seemed to be the leader charged for Zuko but Lillian blocked her attack and disarmed her. Another female warrior began to attack Lillian and Zuko was pulled off of his rhino completely surrounded. Lillian jumped over one of the girls and had her back against Zuko, suddenly Lillian felt Zuko hook his arms around her's and she was lifted onto his back, he spun around and she bent fire from her feet. Once the warrior's were down Zuko stood in the middle of the village, " Nice try avatar, but these little girls can't save you!" Zuko taunted, Lillian ran to help their men, as she ran away she heard the voice of the avatar and felt that she didn't need to be there. Lillian stopped before some houses and watched as they were burning, "I'm not like them..." She said as she clenched her fists. Lillian began to bend the flames in a way that she was killing them, 'If I could just release me wings, it be so much easier...' Lillian thought as she felt her energy disappear, "Why would you do that?" the voice of a young boy asked, Lillian turned shocked to see the avatar standing with his staff, "Your the girl? The girl who jumped off Zuko's ship to save me?" Lillian stared at the boy, he was so young almost the same age as Rohan, " I am.." Lillian whispered, " Do you know anything else about me avatar?" Lillian asked as she began bending the flames of the next house, " My name is Aang by the way, and I think so...but I can't remember.." He said as he held his head, " My name is Lillian, our paths are destined to cross young avatar but not in these conditions. You will understand soon..." Lillian said, " Lillian!! Get him!" Lillian's eyes fell on Zuko as he was running towards them, she took her fighting stance and face the avatar, " Blast air at me, hard enough so I land in the house behind me, I refuse to fight you..." Lillian harshly whispered to Aang, all he did was nod and airbent her into the house behind her, "Lilly!" Zuko yelled, he blasted a fire ball at the avatar before he took off on his glider. Zuko ran into the house and found Lillian knocked out between the rubble. Zuko picked Lillian up and carried her outside, " Sir! The avatar has left on his Bison!" Said one of the guards, Zuko growled and looked down at Lillian, "Back to the ship!!!" he yelled as he placed Lillian on his rhino and rode back to the ship, 'how dare he hurt her!' Zuko's face was filled with so much anger that he didn't even notice the avatar jump off his bison until he heard the water tribe girl yell. He dove into the ocean and appeared on the back of a great sea creature that breathed water over the town leaving Zuko and his men soaked.

Once everyone was back on the ship Zuko carried Lillian to her room. As he made his way down the hall he felt her shift and noticed that she was starting to wake up, "hmmm, Zuko?" Lillian looked up at him, "Welcome back Lilly. How you feeling?" Zuko asked as he kept walking, Lillian stared at Zuko's scar, " What happened? The avatar! did you-" Zuko pushed Lillian's door open and laid her down on the bed, "No... he got away. Get some rest." Zuko placed the sheet over Lillian but she grasped his arm, "I'm sorry Zuko..." Zuko looked away, but Lillian didn't let go, " Um... Zuko... w-would you m-maybe stay with me for a w-while?" Lillian felt her blush as the words left her mouth. Zuko looked down at her and blushed himself, "uh... yeah, sure..." Zuko sat next to Lillian on her bed, she leaned against the wall and rested her head on his shoulder, "night night Zuko..." Lillian mumbled as she fell asleep, Zuko smiled at her, " Goodnight Lilly..."
