Vol. 1 Just a Dream

I slowly opened my eyes thanks to the loud sounds. Ugh.. did the silencer broke or something? i rubbed my eyes and was about to complain to Tear, until a shocking scene appeared before me.

"Where.. am i?" it's not his room. A very familiar, yet unfamiliar place. battlefield? my vision is too blurry.. i can't see anything.

Just as he's about to use his magic, a silhouette he's the most familiar with became visible. The silhouette rushed towards him in a hurriedly manner, before finally showing its appearance.

It was.. Athy.

After reaching up to him, Athy sat down with a panicked look. She quickly scanned her brother condition. After confirming he was okay, Athy looked up to him. Her gaze were different. No, more importantly, she's grown..

Athy suddenly hugged him tightly with sniffling sounds. "Brother! i'm glad you're okay.. are you able to stand up!? i will call Jennette over!"

He couldn't discern what is happening currently. Another presence from another direction also appeared from within the fog.

As they came closer, Ranath could see who it was. This time, it was Lucas."Ranath! no need to call for the chimera.. let me heal you." Lucas slides over next to Ranath and immediately used advanced healing spell.

As Ranath observed the two of them, he found something. They're hurt terribly. Wounds all over their body, both from magic and swords. Their breathing were ragged, as if they're running after time.

Ranath rubbed his temple, a sudden striking pain throbbed in his head. It took a moment for him to look up at Lucas. "Lucas.. what.. what are we against?.."

Athy instantly let go of her embrace. Both her and Lucas were staring at Ranath with widened eyes, as if in disbelief.

"Idiot! you only passed out for a bit and you've forgotten who we're going against? it's the God Of Life!" Lucas almost shout on his ear. The two currently have concerned face, bewildered and afraid. They only have one thought on their mind. How did he lose his memories!?

Hearing Lucas answer, Ranath's eyes dilated in shock. What?.. huh.. but.. but... He was sleeping on his chamber before! Ranath is currently having distorted thoughts in his mind. His anxiousness grew second by second.

We're in the middle of the battle? then what about that life? what is going on? was that all only a dream? i passed out during our battle and dreamed of a happy life without.. 'him'? is it the remaining of my hope that makes me dreamed of a bright.. life..

If that's the truth then, what should he do? accept fate?

At that moment, Athy constant panicking calling went to his ear. "Brother! Brother! why did you blanked out all of the sudden?!" she got frightened look on her face.

"Pull yourself together! we need to hurry up.. the others can't hold back any longer without you!" Lucas encouraged him. It took quite a while to recover Ranath quickly, but it's necessary no matter how long it takes. That's because, Ranath is the main attacker here. The key fighter whose needed the most.

"Brother! we need your power to withstand him! PLEASE!! if.. if we can beat him now.. we will finally be free.." as she spoke the last words, Athy teared up subconciously. She gritted her teeth and wiped away her tears immediately. Now is not the time to cry.

It's Impossible. We will never beat him. We will never get our happy ending.

Hah.. hahaha.. am i so desperate that i dreamed of such things? am i really that hopeless?

The scenery before him suddenly glitched out. At first, he thought he was going crazy, but no he's not. The scene before him really changed.

It switched into a bloody and gruesome scene.

His companions were all splattered on the floor, with no sign of life. The World saturation seemed to have faded, the world lost its colors. They were all gone.

He was left all alone, once again.

A vivid call.

"Ranath!"

"Ranath!"

"Hey!! wake up!!"

Amaranaath jolted up. His body were full of sweats as he's panting heavily. He raised his hands and could see how his corruption suddenly developed faster, almost rotting his whole arm. Thankfully, he's fully aware now. There's only one sole reason this happened, he's on the verge of death.

Ranath turned to the bed side, seeing Lucas on his side. Lucas was also sweating frivously, more because he's panicking instead. And Ranath also noticed how there's a mana line between his hand and Lucas's.

Lucas was absorbing his mana to keep him stable.

Lucas, still with a shocked expression, finally softened up. He could finally take a breather when he saw Ranath doesn't have any more issues. But still, he can't be relieved just yet."RANATH!! you got mana malfunction! what happened!?" it's obvious Lucas were trying his hardest this whole time.

He felt dead right now, so Ranath couldn't procceed any reaction nor expression. "I.. i got that dream again. I'm sorry for making you worried, Lucy." ranath rubbed his temple, feeling his head ache.

Lucas pursed his lips and muttered. "Seriously.. you scared me to death.." lucas sighed deeply. "I literally just come back from hunting that tree only to find you in the verge of dying?"

Lucas paused briefly, taking a moment."Don't die on me, idiot." "I.. no, we still need you."

With the firm yet deep words from Lucas, Ranath finally take back his emotions. He curved his lips into a slight smile. "I won't. I promise i will never." he assured him.

At that moment forth, his corruption began to cower in defeat. Releasing their domination over his arms. Lucas broke off the mana transmission, and Ranath tried to compose his mana waves that's currently in chaos.

Normally, one will explode once their mana began to act abnormally. It's not entirely the case for Ranath.

It took half an hour for Ranath to connect his mana back in line, while Lucas only sat there waiting patiently. He was observing Ranath condition incase something might happen.

Ranath take the last exhale and finally finished his attempt, which resulted in an easy success. "Huff.. i'm getting tired from all those stuff." he stretched his body, feeling more better.

Ranath glanced at Lucas who remained there quietly. He curled up his lips, "Let's sleep together for tonight. Surely you wouldn't want me to met with any accidents, no?" back to his usual behavior, Ranath took advantage of the current situation.

Lucas rounded his eyes insurprise. "Playing little tricks now, eh? whatever.." he rolled his eyes non-chalantly. Lucas are too used to Ranaths dirty little games.

"Jump on." Ranath moved a bit to gave Lucas a place. Lucas went on, magically changing his clothes, and lay down next to Ranath. Ranath covered them both with the blanket. "Sleep well."

Lucas closed his eyes first, and Ranath touched his hair gently. While him on the other hand, his mind were still stuck on something else he couldn't bring himself to sleep.so i still carry that memory with me.. perhaps it might be that Quill who controlled my curse. I'm.. glad. As this goes on, i can.. he narrowed his eyes.

Ranath pursed his lips. Although suddenly, a touch could be felt on his hand. Ranath instinctively turn to look. It was Lucas. He hadn't slept yet."Sleep." he firmly said.

Ranath almost laughed but shrugged it off. He lay down back next to Lucas. With Lucas on his side, Ranath could sleep easier.

The silent night continues, without any further incident.
