part 21
01:45, 21 June 2021Hoseok's chest rose up and down as he took deep breaths. His hair stuck to his face due to his sweat and his skin was moist. He stood up from the ground and looked over himself; he was sweating all over. And it honestly felt good. He glanced over to Yuna who was in the same state as him. Her long hair was laid over her shoulders as some baby strands stuck onto her face. Her breath was heavy and short, the exhaustion visible just from her harsh pants and gasps for air. Hoseok raised a brow toward her, suggesting. "Round two?" He asked but Yuna chuckled and brought her hair up to tie so that it would no longer stick onto her sweaty skin. She suddenly removed her shirt and revealed herself in her sports bra but Hoseok was not fazed by it at all. He brought his fists up in front of him again while Yuna swung her fists at him, using all of her strength to bring him down but Hoseok dodged and blocked all of her attacks. This was how they would greet one another whenever they'd see each other; they'd talk with their fists instead of their mouths. "So," Yuna spoke as she threw another punch at him. "Did you do what I asked last time you came?" Hoseok grunted as she hit him straight in his chest. "No," he groaned and took a low swing at her which she swiftly dodged. "I told you that I don't give a damn about what you tell me to do." He threw another punch and Yuna stumbled as she held her stomach but her movement didn't stop. "Oh, is that so?" Yuna chuckled, out of breath. "I wonder what will happen to your precious little Luna, hmm?" Hoseok froze and Yuna found the opportunity to punch him in the stomach and grab his arm to flip him over her back, Hoseok landing on the floor with a loud thud. He groaned and Yuna smirked, putting a hand to her waist. "That's enough for today."
"So why did you call me out here?" Hoseok asked while he brushed a hand through his wet hair, his straight strands turned curly. Yuna glanced to him and shrugged while tossing her shirt over her shoulder, giving the man an unimpressed look. "I wanted to see if you were keeping up with what I've told you to do but I've realized you've been..." she glanced to him with her arms crossed over her chest. "Extremely distracted." Hoseok rolled his eyes at her words and scoffed, "I've told you thousand of times that I will never work for you. I'll never betray my friends." Yuna's eyebrows raised in amusement and a smirk crept onto her lips as she took slow steps toward him. "Oh, really?" She chuckled and stopped when she stood right in front of him, staring into his soul with her deep set eyes. It was almost like she was hypnotizing him. "Then what are you doing here, Hoseok?" Yuna asked him and Hoseok only raised his eyebrows. He couldn't understand what she was trying to lure him into this time; he knew that Yuna was big trouble, especially to you and the boys, yet he continued to meet with her. He couldn't quite put the puzzle pieces together even if he tried. "If you being here isn't betrayal, then I don't know what is." Yuna smirked and walked past him, brushing her shoulder against Hoseok's as she handed her shirt to one of her men that she had on standby. She changed into a brand new t-shirt that she made sure to bring since she knew Hoseok would meet up with her; she realized to do so due to their brutal brawls they'd always have. "I'm not betraying them. You and I both know that you keep forcing me into this shit." Hoseok fought back as he turned to look at her but his anger grew when Yuna only shrugged her shoulders nonchalantly, seeming not to care much. "Sure, but you end up coming back anyway. Am I wrong?" She spoke and played with her nails. "I'm doing this to protect them—" Hoseok defended but Yuna was quick to object. "No, you're doing this to protect her." Hoseok froze from her words, knowing exactly who she was talking about. Yuna looked up from his nails and smirked again. She knew she hit him in the worse place possible. "Gotcha." She chuckled and snapped her fingers toward one of her men. The guy immediately went to grab a chair for her to sit on while Yuna leaned back reassuringly, crossing one of her legs over the other. "Face it Hoseok, you're only doing this for Luna. This has nothing to do with your friends," Yuna said. Her words continued to stab Hoseok in the chest one by one. He knew she was doing this on purpose— he knew Yuna was just trying to get under his skin, yet, why does he feel so guilty and ashamed? Hoseok took a deep breath in and chuckled to himself, making Yuna raise an eyebrow in confusion. He refused to let her get to him. "Maybe you're right," Hoseok agreed. "Maybe I'm just doing this to be selfish. But at least I have dignity and the balls to remind myself that I will never, ever work under you Yuna. We're completely different." He walked over to her and towered over her figure. He bent down, his gaze turning dark and serious. "Now leave Luna out of this conversation, and tell me the real reason why you fucking called me." Yuna stared back at him and scoffed, glancing away in irritation. She reached out to push his chest away since she didn't like the closeness. She preferred to be miles away from Hoseok but this was what she needed. "You know what I called you for," Yuna stood up and faced him. "Give me the girl and you won't have to—" Hoseok tilted his head while shaking his head from side to side, his expression showing genuine displeasure. "No! Haven't you done enough to her, Yuna? What has she ever done to you?" Hoseok shouted. His heart was racing as the anger and anxiety rushed through his veins. He wished this could've been a dream instead of reality. "Her family has ruined us!" Yuna shouted back. "They took our parents away and you just want to sit and act like nothing ever happened?!" Hoseok shook his head again. "This isn't about that." "Then what, Hoseok? Her grandparents ruined our future. They completely ruined our childhood! Don't you remember when they took Mei away?" Yuna said and that was the last thing that made Hoseok break. Mei. Of course he could never forget that tragic day. The house was raided and fire was everywhere; Hoseok remembered it like it was yesterday. He took in a deep breath. "Yuna," he sighed. "Y/n had nothing to do with this. She was just a kid, like us!" He shook his head again, for what felt like the tenth time. "Hoseok," Yuna said. "Out of all the people I know, I thought you would understand me the most." Hoseok scoffed and grabbed his jacket to head out of the warehouse. He knew that if he wasn't back before sunrise then the others would go looking for him eventually. He suddenly stopped in his tracks. "No Yuna, I understand completely." He said, slightly turning his head to stare at her back side. "You're the one who doesn't understand." Yuna whipped her head around and her eyes met with Hoseok's. Her blood was boiling with the anger inside of her. "Shut up, Jung Hoseok." She groaned. "Don't you see, Yuna? You're becoming just like them. You're no different." Hoseok said before turning back to walk out of the warehouse and toward his motorcycle. He quickly drove off into the night, hoping no one would give him anymore headaches.
Later, when Hoseok quietly entered through his window, he sighed when he saw everything still in place. He slowly closed his window shut and sighed before backing up and turning around, throwing his jacket on his desk. Just as he was about to crawl into his bed he heard a knock on the door and froze when he saw Luna poke her head through the door. "Hey, are you awake?" She softly asked. Hoseok nodded his head and gestured her to enter his room which she gladly did so. She walked inside and closed the door behind her before making her way to Hoseok who sat himself down on his bed. "Is there something wrong?" Hoseok asked as he looked up at her and before he looked away, he smiled when he saw her blush. Luna shook her head as she wrapped her arms around herself and create friction for her body. "N-no! I just couldn't sleep, that's all..." she trailed off but Hoseok knew her better than that. He knew there as something else. "You know you can always talk to me." Hoseok said as he sat up straight and looked her straight in the eyes. Just a while ago he was dreading the thought of her but how she was all he could think about, and Hoseok didn't mind it at all. Luna sighed and looked down, fiddling with the hem of her shirt. "I had that dream again..." she confessed. Hoseok's eyes softened at the sight of her almost crumbling in her spot. He patted the spot next to him and opened his arms, "Come here." Luna did as gold and crawled up next to him on the bed and quickly wrapped her arms around his body, craving for his warmth and heat. She buried her face into his shoulder as Hoseok rubbed her back while leaning his head against hers. He knew exactly what dream she was talking about. "It was just like before, Hobi..." Luna whispered against his skin. "They took me a-and then the house was on fire—" Luna tried to speak but grew silent as he tried to push down her tears and memories that constantly popped up over and over again. "Shh, you don't have to say anything." Hoseok shushed her as he caressed her hair in attempt to calm her down. He heard her sniffle multiple times before raising her head up to look at him with her teary eyes. "Do you think things would've been different if Yuna was here?" Luna suddenly asked. Hoseok stared down at her and rubbed her shoulders soothingly. "She's gone, Luna. She died. There's no reason to be caught up all in the past, yeah?" He softly spoke, hating the words he spoke with his own mouth. He hated lying to her. However, Luna nodded her head before resting against his shoulder once more. "You're right..." she whispered, hugging him tighter. "I just wished she was here." Listening to her Hoseok sighed softly as he pulled her close and rubbed her exposed arms to keep her warm. "I know." He replied, hoping that Yuna wouldn't go anywhere near them.
