29. Strange Greetings

01:40, 19 July 2013

Abby's POV:

"Greyson? Greyson! You're meant to be dead!"

My brother shrugged awkwardly, with Elijah still pinning him to the wall. "Maybe I am. I have been on the other side for a few years Abby."

My phone started furiously buzzing in my pocket but I ignored it, running over to Greyson and pulling him into a hug.

"I've missed you so much." I breathed a sob up into his jersey, all cosy and warm, just like the ones he used to wear. Elijah promptly let the boy go, and whipped my phone out of my pocket, answering it for me.

"I don't know why you can see me Abby. I have been watching over you and the others, watching as you make mistake after mistake. It's a bit like a comedyfest to be honest."

Elijah was furiously murmuring into my phone in the other corner of the room. I sighed at my little brother.

"Well I'm just glad that you're here." I smiled at him, and leant in to hug him again.

He put his arms around me and hugged me tight. To think that the reason I left this town was because of him. I never want to lose him again.

After a minute he pulled back and gave me a grin. "So. Where am I staying?"

I raised an eyebrow. I actually didn't know. My time ranged between the Salvatores and the Mikaelsons. I didn't have my own house.

"The Salvatores will love to see you again. You'll have to stay there with me." I smiled at him, and he nodded with a laugh.

Elijah turned to look at me from the other side of the room. "Abby... we have a problem .."

"What?" I snapped. Wow, that came out harshly. He raised an eyebrow.

"Damon and Stefan have Allaric in their house, and Rebekah just called to say Klaus got attacked by hybrids. Whatever this is, I think people are coming back from the dead."

I frowned, deep in thought, and turned back to my baby brother. "So you might not be here for long.."

He grinned. "Let's make the most of it."

I nodded with a smile. "But first, I have to help my friends."

Stefan's POV:

Allaric was in my house. Back from the dead. Drinking our alcohol.

Damon ran over to him and pulled him into a huge hug, before joining Rick with the scotch. He looked over at the drunk man.

"If you're alive, it looks like something had gone terribly wrong." He smirked.

I rubbed my temples, deep in thought. Who else would be alive, if Allaric was. The hybrids that Klaus killed of course, and maybe a few other werewolves and vampires the originals had killed. I had to call the Mikaelsons and see.

Flicking out my phone, I dialled in their number and pushed talk. Almost instantly, Rebekah picked up the phone.

"Hello? Is this Stefan? We need your help."

This came out very fast, with no spaces between words, and I frowned at her panicked mood.

"What's wrong Rebekah."

She sighed. "The hybrids Klaus killed came back to life. They can't kill him of course, but they're having a lot of fun trying to. They forgot that I'm here."

I frowned again. "Where are your brothers?"

This sparked something in her, and she gasped. "Elijah! I'll call him right now, although his phone is here, so I'll have to call Abby. Thanks for the help- bye!"

And in a blink, she had hung up. I rolled my eyes at the phone call, then turned back to my brother and his best friend. They were having a great catchup, and drinking their hearts away.

I grabbed my keys and headed for the door. "I'm just going to check on Elena." I called out to the twosome.

They nodded quickly, then turned back to their drink. I was slightly surprised they both didn't want to come.

Klaus's POV:

I awoke again, still the throbbing pains all through my torso, from the stakes lodged in my body. These hybrids really didn't know there research. They didn't even know how to kill themselves, because I was just the master race version of them.

I only fluttered my eyelids slowly, because I knew that as soon as I showed any sign of awaking, they would stake the shit out of me. In my own house.

I had been tied from two ropes, hanging from the roof banister in the dining room. Frankly, I had no idea where any of my siblings had got to. But maybe if ghosts had come back to life they had problems of their own.

Out of the corner of my eye I could see one hybrid sitting on the couch gulping down my bloodbags. Those were the only ones I had left. He would pay for this.

I heard a commotion in the entrance hall, a few squeaks, and the bangs of many doors. Whoever it was, they better be coming to save me.

I hung there, wide-eyed as five figures burst into the room. All three of my siblings, Abby, and a strange boy I didn't know. Huh. I would have to give him a medal later for volunteering in the fight.

The hybrid on the couch flashed over and tried to rip out the heart of this guy, only to get stabbed with a stake in the exact same way I did. I smirked. Payback.

Abby and Rebekah zipped over and started frantically untying me, while the others fought with the hybrid pack. They were going down like flies.

My sister whispered to me. "Are you okay brother?"

I nodded. "Yes Rebekah, but I am wondering who that boy is, so fearlessly defending my honour."

Abby smiled with the last rope undone. "He's my brother."

I raised one eyebrow. "Then I guess this is worse than we thought."

Rebekah unleashed the last chain, and I dropped to the floor with a thud. Slowly, I stood up and watched the last of my torturers fight their final death battle. I had to say, Elijah was doing a great job today. He looked really mad. Or maybe it was something else fuelling him along.

I looked over at Abby and her brother, who were having a big heart to heart, and I smirked. Trouble in Paradise between Abby and my brother then. Jealousy overpowers all.

The last hybrid dropped down, and I realised that if they were ghosts, they wouldn't be dead for long. I clicked my fingers over at Kol.

"Take 'em to the dungeons will yah mate." He rolled his eyes but obliged, dragging along one hybrid on each shoulder.

The others all helped along apart from Abby, who came over to me with a frown. "You're not healing as fast."

I looked down at my bruised and wounded body. It seems so. I looked up at her. "Fix me up please?"

She just rolled her eyes but gestured me to follow her to the kitchen. I can't remember if we even had a first aid kit, I mean, it's not like we'd ever need it.

But Abby found one in the top cupboard and started rubbing me down with some alcoholic liquid that was meant to 'protect the wounds from getting infected.' I can't say I've ever heard of that before.

She flicked her eyes up at me once or twice as she worked, obviously finding it awkward that she was rubbing liquid all over my body. And my body wasn't in bad shape, even if I do say so myself.

"So what's with Elijah and your brother?" I pondered.

She raised both eyebrows up at me. "What about them?"

I rolled my eyes with a smirk. "Elijah seems.. angrier than usual. And your brother has come back."

She grimaced. "I did snap at him earlier. I haven't had a chance to apologise."

I nodded, leaning back so she could do a better job of patching me up. I had no idea why the wounds were taking their time healing, and I was sure I didn't need whatever she was doing to me. But what type of man would I be if I objected to this.

With the last bandage done, she hopped up on the counter next to me, and looked over.

"How's Caroline going?"

I frowned. "I was meant to grab her off Tyler. She is mad at him now, for ignoring her and staying with that Hayley girl."

Abby laughed. "Well do it then. Sweep her off her own feet."

I looked over at her with a stare of disbelief. "It isn't that easy love."

The world stopped as she looked up into my eyes. I knew she felt something too. And I had to act on it. Whatever the consequences were.

I zoned into her eyes. "Abby. You are going to come upstairs into my bedroom, and sleep with me. And you are going to like it."

Her pupils dilated, and I grinned. If she had been taking vervaine things would have gotten very awkward. She took my hand and dragged me out of the room, then up the stairs. It was actually working. As she pulled me along she turned back to grin at me, and I smiled guiltily. My brother already hated me. Let's just add to it some more.

As the door closed behind us, she pulled me onto the bed, and straddled on top of me, kissing up and down my neck and around the sore spots on my torso. Gradually she moved up to my mouth and kissed me willingly. Her hands roamed up and down my body and as I already had no shirt, she skipped straight to the point.

She pulled off her own singlet, then started unbuttoning my jeans. However guilty I felt, this was going to be fun.
