19. Hybrid Death March
17:17, 17 July 2013Elijah's POV:
I went straight to the Bennett witch, knowing how she trusted me, and asked her to track down Abby.
She looked at me unwillingly. "Isn't she in safe hands with Klaus?"
I shook my head, worry lines creasing on my forehead. "Who knows what he will do."
Bonnie simply shrugged, and grabbed the hairbrush which I had snatched out of Abby's room. She started humming and magically waving her hands around the map of the state, making soft air waves. I had chosen this map, knowing my brother and his laziness, and I was sure he wouldn't have gone out further than that.
After about a minute, her nose started bleeding. I knew this wasn't a complicated spell, she must be really struggling with the power. Suddenly she whipped her head up, in a trance-like state.
"Spill some blood on the map."
I raised my eyebrows, but obliged, leaving more than enough. It started bubbling about, then slowly moved across, past Mystic Falls, on towards an even smaller town to the west.
Ah yes. How could I forget. Klaus's second mansion. I mentally face palmed, but patted Bonnie on the shoulder as a thanks, before rushing out the door to get there as fast as I could.
I needed Abby back. If anything happened to her, I couldn't live with myself.

Abby's POV:
Klaus's mansion was quite a relaxing place. More relaxing than the other Mikaelson mansion, always bickering going on.
And the hybrid kept making more and more food. I guess if I had lived for a thousand years, I would be a great cook too.
But like a lot of other things, I sucked at cooking. Most of my vampire years I had spent partying, or trying to hunt down Katherine for killing my brother.
I was across the couch, flicking through the channels on the overly-large TV, until I found one displaying Mystic Falls news. Nothing new. Boring stuff.
But hey, there was a Founder's Day celebration soon. Damn, I always loved those. I skimmed my eyes over to Klaus, to see him furiously yaking into his cellphone, some top model thing.
He didn't seem very happy, but then again, he barely ever was. I tuned into the conversation.
Klaus growled. "What. Why are you doing this."
Another voice, sounded like a Salvatore, chipped in. "Give Abby back. And come and help us with our little problem. You can't just wimp out and run without consequences."
"You know how much I want my hybrids. And you know, that destroying them WAS NOT a good idea, considering that I can grab Elena and make some more."
"Elena's a vampire now, genius. You can't even use her blood." They scoffed.
"I will kill you, and everyone you have ever met."
"Good luck with that. The deed is done. Killing won't save anything, dick."
Huh, sounded like Damon. Klaus growled ferociously and slammed the phone down. I struggled not to laugh, and looked at him wide-eyed, innocent face in tune.
"Your friends the Salvatores, have decided that killing all my hybrids would make me help them." As he yelled this, he threw a chair into the TV, smashing it, nearly toppling it off the wall.
I grinned. "Hey hey hey, I'm watching that. Calm down, it's all done now, nothing you can do about it right?"
He nodded slowly, then more rage took over him, and he threw another chair, this time into the fireplace. I shrugged.
"Dude. Soon we'll have nothing to sit on if you keep up with that."
He growled. "Next it will be you I throw into the fire."
He strolled over and ripped open a blood bag, sucking it all down in less than a minute. Weow. Hardcore Klaus. This would be fun. Maybe it was a good thing I'd never pissed him off.
"What are you going to do about it then, Mr Hybrid?"
He turned back to me, with a blood smeared face. "Well love, I'm going to town for a drink. Care to join?"
He grinned menacingly, and I knew by 'drink' he meant mass murder. But I saw a chance to escape while he was gone.
"No thanks. I'm fine here." I gestured towards the TV, now half cracked and slightly tilted.
He grinned and walked out of the room, death march. Just before he closed the front door behind him he yelled out his last words.
"And don't even think about escaping Abigail. You'll regret it."
Dammit. I sighed, and sat up properly on the couch, before deciding to raid his alcohol drawer while he was absent. He was more loaded than Damon, and that's saying something.

After about half an hour of lazing around, I decided to flick the TV on again, and switched through the local news channels. Oh god.
'ANIMAL ATTACKS FOUND IN SMALL TOWN, SCATTERED AROUND WOODS. ALL VICTIMS DEAD.'
I sighed, but smiled at Klaus's ruthlessness. It was kind of good being friends with him. I would hate to have someone like him on my bad side.
Just then, I heard the door slam, and the man himself come waltzing into the room. Blood covered his white collared top, and he looked quite proud of himself. Jesus Klaus. I would hate to be a human when he's rage kill.
He came over and flopped down next to me with a grin, staring up at the TV, looking at the results of his feeding.
"Day's job done. That was fairly easy."
I rolled my eyes. "Maybe just stick to the bloodbags. Avoid the loss of life?"
He moved closer and looked me in the eyes. "Sweet-art, I was trying to prove a point to your Salvatore boys. They make me mad, I show them whose boss. I'll find someone to send back to Mystic Falls and knock off a few council members as well."
Sounded like he wasn't going back there any time soon. Damn. I missed my friends. And I missed Elijah.
Elijah. It's funny how he hadn't rescued me yet, or even contacted me. Oh well. Soon enough.
I leaned back further on the couch, stretching out. "Good point. But maybe think about it less as collateral damage, and more of a loss of human life?"
He smirked down at me, moving in closer, and whispered. "Do I look like I care love?"
I froze. I felt weirdly attracted to Klaus. Maybe it was his strength, or his good body. Or maybe just that accent. But him moving closer sparked something in me.
I couldn't answer him, so I just slowly shook my head. He caught onto my vibe, his smirk turning off, moving in closer and closer, until his lips brushed mine. Then I snapped.
I grabbed his face, pushing it onto mine, a billion thoughts zipping through my head at that moment. What was I doing? I LOVED Elijah. Klaus didn't even care for me. He just wanted some fun? Why the hell did he smell so good?
As he pulled me closer, a floorboard creaked across the room, making us both freeze. I whipped my head around, breaking apart from Klaus too see none other than Elijah, standing across the room, come to save me.
His face crumpled, a look I had never seen on him before. Like heartbroken. A sorrow so deep that someone had pulled all the happiness out of him, and drained it away.
This face, made me feel so guilty. So, so, so guilty. I wanted to run to him, explain everything. Explain that I didn't like Klaus, it was just a rush out of the blue. That it meant nothing. I wanted to hug him and tell him that everything would be okay.
Unfortunately. I never got that chance.
A few seconds after he had entered the house, Elijah swiftly zipped away.
