Chapter Six: The Pep Talk

(Y/n)'s POV:

Ruby and I were called to Ozpin's office, Most likely it was because we fought that lady in black last night, I wasn't sure but something just told me she looked like Cinder, but if it were true that would be a huge accusation, I don't even have evidence to prove such a thing, I mean for the most part her and team haven't done anything that could cause trouble, but then again where was she last night? I only saw Emerald and Mercury at the dance not her.

Ruby: "Are you okay? Your not mad are you?" Ruby asked who was beside me in the elevator, she basically pushed all the buttons on the elevator so the it had to keep stopping as we went up.

(Y/n): "Nah I just have a bunch to think of." I said with my thinking face on.

Ruby: "Your not worried that we're in trouble are you?" She asked.

(Y/n): "Heh, no, it's nothing important honestly don't worry Rose pedal." I said giving her a smile.

Ruby: "Okay...but I'm here if you want to talk." She said grabbing my hand.

(Y/n): "Yes Ma'am." I said as we finally made it to Ozpin's office.

Ruby: "Ah! Sorry it took so long (Y/n) here thought it'd be funny to push all the buttons on the elevator." She said smirking at me, you sly little devil!

Ozpin: "Anyways thank you for coming you two, how are you feeling?" He asked as i saw Professor Goodwitch and General Ironwood also here.

(Y/n): "Peachy." I said as I crossed my arms and faced away from Ruby who was trying to poke my cheek.

Ruby: "Okay I guess, I'd feel better If Lightning Rose's bad-guy-catching score wasn't 0 for 3." She said chuckling as they stared at her, the tone in the room was quite the serious one.

Ruby: "Okay that's the tone we're going for, got it.." She said scooting closer to me.

Ironwood: "(Y/n), Ruby, I feel it's appropriate to let both of you know that what you two did last night, was exactly what being a Huntsmen and Huntress is all about, you recognized a threat, took action, and did the best you two could." He said putting one hand on my shoulder and the other on Ruby's.

Ruby: "Thank you sir." Ruby said.

(Y/n): "No need to Praise us too much sir." I said trying to sound funny.

Ironwood: "I disagree." He said smiling at me.

Ozpin: "Now, the general here has already informed us of the events, that transpired last night, and now that you two are well rested, we were wondering if you two have anything to add." He said.

Goodwitch: "Was anyone with her? Did she look familiar to any of at all?" She asked as I started thinking to myself, I could say she looked like Cinder...but I could be wrong..i don't want to mix her into this if she's innocent.

(Y/n): "No, she didn't look like anyone I know." I said looking down.

Ruby: "Me neither, she was wearing a mask, and she never said anything to us, but I know she fought with glass, and I'm also sure that wasn't her Semblance though, her clothes lit up everytime she attacked. " She said.

Goodwitch: "Save for the glass, that sounds like the women that I fought when I met (Y/n) and Ruby." She said.

Ironwood: "Embedding dust into clothing is an age-old technique, it could have been anyone." He pointed out.

Ruby: "Wait you think this lady is connected to the White Fang and Torchwick?" She asked as I looked at her confused.

Ozpin: "Its possiable, but we all lack the evidence to link the two together." He said as Ironwood gave him a mild glare.

Ruby: "Actually I remember overhearing her say something about a hideout or something, in the southeast, just outside the kingdom." She said as I gave her the "What are you saying?" Face, she just gave me a wink.

Ozpin: "Interesting." He said with a smile, great now he suspects somthing.

Goodwitch: "I thought you said the intruder never sai-"

Ozpin: "Thank you for your cooperation you two, why don't you spend sometime with the rest of your team, you two have a big day ahead of you." He said as I quickly grabbed Ruby's hand.

(Y/n): "Thank you sir!" I said as I grabbed Ruby and took her to the elevator.

Ozpin: "Before you go you two, remember to keep this matter... discreet." He said.

(Y/n): "Yes sir!" I said as I tried to close the elevator door fast, and once it did I spoke my mind.

(Y/n): "That was really REALLY RISKY!!" I shouted at Ruby as she took it by surprise, I quickly composed myself and took a deep breath, the elevator opened and I zoomed out of there with Ruby to our dorm, as soon as we came in the rest of the team was waiting for us, they suddenly surrounded us.

Yang: "What happened?" Yang asked.

(Y/n): "Well..." I said as I looked at Ruby while she gave me an innocent smile, I told everything Ruby and I said and they gave Ruby the "Are you serious!?" Face.

Weiss: "That was a risky move." Weiss said crossing her arms.

(Y/n): "Exactly what I said." I said as I looked out the window.

Blake: "No, I think you handled it well." Blake told her.

Ruby: "I hope so.." She said with a sad expression, I sighed and walked up to her, ruffled her hair and gave her a smile.

(Y/n): "Don't worry Rose Pedal, The way I see it, one way or another, Ozpin would have figured something was up, but that ain't going to stop us, Torchwick and the White Fang have to be stopped and we going to do it, together." I said confidently as Ruby put her hand on mine.

Yang: "Anyway Rubes we got something in the mail form dad!" She said as Ruby got on her back excited.

Ruby: "Ooohhh!! Something from home!!" She said excited as she tried to grab it from Yang while on her back, suddenly something fell out and started moving, we all surrounded it and saw it was a dog! Everyone jumped from either surprise or excitement.

Ruby: "Zweeeiiiii!!!" Ruby yelled in excitement.

Blake: "He sent a dog!?!" Blake asked.

Weiss: "In the mail!?!" Weiss asked.

Yang: "He does stuff like this all the time." Yang said as Ruby was being licked by Zwei.

Blake: "Your father or your dog?" She asked now being on top of Ruby's bed.

Weiss: "Are you telling me that this mangy, drooling, mutt is going to wive with us forevah, oh yes he is, yes he is aren't you just adorable." She said in a tone you would talk to a baby too.

Blake: "Please keep it away from my belongings." She said as they stopped talking and looked at me, I walked slowly to Ruby and took Zwei from her, then I started spinning with him in my arms, while a certain song came on in my head.

One thing as a kid, I always wanted was a dog and now we have one!

Yang: "Wow I've never seen you so happy." Yang said as I kept spinning with Zwei.

(Y/n): "why wouldn't I be! I've always wanted a dog as a kid!" I said putting him down and petting him.

Goodwitch (over P.A.): "Would all first year students please report to the amphitheater." Goodwitch announced.

Weiss: "Well we can't exactly leave him here while we're gone for a week." She said.

Yang: "Look there's a letter:"DEAR GIRLS, I HAVE TO LEAVE THE ISLAND FOR A FEW DAYS SO I'M SENDING ZWEI TO YOU TO TAKE CARE OF, ENCLOSED IS ALL THE FOOD YOU SHOULD NEED, LOVE YOU BOTH,TAIYANG."

Yang read as she dropped a bunch of canned foods on him.

Weiss: "What is he suppose to do with that?" Weiss asked as Yang dropped a can opener on Zwei's head.

Yang: "Well, that settles it, come on girls, Zwei will be here when we get back." She said as she walked out.

Weiss: "Oh I'll miss you so much, we're going to be best friends, I can't wait to see you again." She said walking out while Blake jumped off Ruby's bed and on to a table to avoid Zwei.

Ruby and I we're the last to leave.

(Y/n): "We're not leaving Zwei here." I said to Ruby who looked at me surprised.

Ruby: "I don't want too either so what do we do?" She asked picking up Zwei.

(Y/n): "Get your backpack and put Zwei in, no one will suspect anything since we're going out." I said smiling as we did so and headed to the amphitheater.

Once we got there all the first years of every kingdom where all in lines, based on their kingdom, Ruby put her backpack down and we got in line with our team where all the first years of Beacon were at.

Goodwitch: "Professor Ozpin would like to share a few words before we begin." She said as she walked to the side and Ozpin walked to the Mic.

Ozpin: "Today we stand together, united; Mistral, Atlas, Vacuo, Vale.The four kingdoms of Remnant, on this day nearly 80 years ago, the largest war in recorded history came to an end, it was a war of ignorance, of greed, and of oppression, a war that was about much more than where boarders fell or who traded with whom, but about the very idea of individualism itself, we fought for countless reasons, One of which being the destruction of all forms of art and self expression, and as you all are aware that was something many could not stand for, as a result those who opposed this tyranny, began naming their children after the core aspects of art itself: Color. It was there way to demonstrate that not only would they refuse to tolerate this oppression, but neither would the generations to come, and it was a trend and it was a trend that is held up to this very day, we encourage individuality, expressionism, and unity, through diversity. As I've said before, today we stand togehter, united, but this bond cannot exist without effort, which is why today while the rest of the world celebrates peace, Huntsmen and Huntresses will work to uphold it. As first year students, you will be tasked to shadow a professional, Huntsmen and Huntresses on a mission." He said as screens started popping out on the sides.

Ozpin: "some of you will be taken out of the kingdom for several days, others may work within the walls for the rest of the week, but no matter which path you choose, remember to be safe, remember your training, and remember to do your very best." He said as he walked off.

Ruby: "This is perfect! All we have to do is shadow a Huntsmen in the southeast." She said excited.

Yang: "Yeah! We'll follow them around by day and give them the slip at night." She said proudly.

Weiss: "Lets check "Search and Destroy"." She said as I i suddenly heard a voice in my head.

??: "Destroyer..." It said as I grabbed my head in pain.

Blake: "(Y/n) Are you okay?!" Blake said grabbing my shoulder.

(Y/n): "Yeah just felt a bit dizzy, but let's go see that "Search and Destroy" I'm itchin to go" I said giving her a smile and walking to get Ruby's backpack that had Zwai in it.

Zwai: *Whine*

(Y/n): "Sorry boy you have to stay hidden for a while longer okay?" I said petting him through the backpack opening as he licked my hand, the girls were checking the screens when Ozpin showed up, oh boy here we go.

(Y/n): "What's going on here?" I said walking up to them.

Ozpin: "Nothing just your team here are trying to go to Quadrin 5 southeast of Vale." He said smiling.

(Y/n): "So?" I said plainly.

Ozpin: "Well unforunitly the concentration of Grimm there is too extreme for first years, it seems that particular region is rather popular,In fact I have the sneaking suspicion that the five of you will make your way there no matter which job you choose." He said as the girls glared at Ruby.

(Y/n): "Well honestly that was pretty much the whole plan yeah." I said smiling as all the girls gave me a shocked expression on their face.

(Y/n): "What?" I said looking at them.

Ozpin: "Interesting, so is that why you all were at the docks last semester?" He asked.

(Y/n): "Yeah!" I said excited as they gave me a "Are you serious!?" Expression.

Ozpin: "And how you know there's a "Hideout" in the southeast?"

(Y/n): "Yup." I said as Yang and Blake started mouthing me to "Shut up!"

Ozpin: "And that's why witnesses and citizens reported rose pedals, giant robots, and an individual with a war hammer fighting in the highway?" He asked.

(Y/n): " Torchwick was actually in the robot, but other than that you pretty much hit the nail on the head sir." I said smiling as the girls faceplated.

Ozpin: "I see, well then how about instead of me waiting for you all to break the rules again, let's bend them a bit." He said smiling as he did something in the scroll of his and basically got us the mission, the girls all looked happy.

Ruby: "We won't let you down, thank you Professor." Ruby said.

Ozpin: "Do not thank me for this, teamwork and persistence have carried you far, but you must understand, the things that await you beyond the protection of the kingdom will not care, stay close to your Huntsmen at all times, and do exactly as he says, he will be leading you on this mission, and he can send you back to Beacon if he finds your skills to be unsatisfactory." He said as he stood there with a serious expression and the girls had a concerned expression on their faces.

(Y/n): "No offense sir, but that was the worst pep talk you've given." I said plainly, as he chuckled and walked away, the girl were now all staring at me.

(Y/n): "What?" I said.

Yang: "You really have to learn to keep  things to yourself." She said giving me an annoyed expression.

(Y/n): "That's lame, personally when your getting shit done and you might get in trouble for it, I rather own up to it and face the fire." I said as I shrugged and walked away.

Blake: "That just gets you into trouble." She said walking to my side as the rest followed behind.

(Y/n): "Eh, tomato tamoto, As long as I'm getting answers, kicking ass, and  doing it cuz I believe it's right, I'll take any consequences that come my way." I said proudly.

Yang: "You have a rediculous habit of saying the right things Tiger." Yang said walking at my other side.

(Y/n): "So I've been told." I said smiling as I suddenly felt pumped to go, suddenly a random student bumped into me.

Random student: "Sorry about that but team CFVY is back!" He yelled as I quickly perked up to see my honey bunny walking with her team, I quickly zoomed at her.

(Y/n): "VELVET!!!" I shouted with joy as she turned and saw me.

Velvet: "(Y/N)!!" She said excited as I ran up, picked her up, and spun her around in a hug.

(Y/n): "Its so good to see you!" I said as I continued to spin and she giggled.

Velvet: "I'm so happy to see you too, I've missed you!" She said in her cute accent.

??: "Who's this?" Some guy said as I bumped into him and I looked up at him.

(Y/n): "Holy shoot your tall!" I said putting Velvet down and turning to him.

Velvet: "Don't worry Yatsuhashi, He's the guy that stood up for me when team CRDL bullied me at lunch that one time." She said smiling.

Yatsuhashi: "I see, then allow me to properly thank you, any friend of Velvet is a friend of mine." He said as he shook my hand and I shook back.

??: "Who's this?" A female's voice said as I turned to see a girl with some cool shades.

Velvet: "Coco, this is (Y/n)! the one I told you about!" She said as she grabbed my hand excitedly like a little girl wanting to show something off in show and tell.

Coco: "I see.." She said as she circled around me, checking me out.

Coco: "Your cute, I'll give you that, but honestly I'm not too impressed." She said standing in front of me with her shades lowered.

(Y/n): "Ouch, right in the feels!" I said Sarcasticly holding my chest like it hurt, she and Velvet giggled.

(Y/n): "That's okay, but try not judging a book by its cover sweetheart." I said as I winked at her.

Coco: "Oh, I like him." She said to Velvet as she past by me and slapped my butt.

(Y/n): "Ooo okay, she's good." I said to Velvet as she giggled, after that some guy in red passed by silently following Coco.

(Y/n): "Who's that?" I asked Vel.

Velvet: "Oh that's fox, he quite silent." She said.

(Y/n): "I see, he looks cool though." I said.

Yang: "(Y/n)! Come on we're leaving!" Yang yelled.

(Y/n): "Coming!" I yelled back waving.

Velvet: "Are you going on a mission?" She asked.

(Y/n): "Yup we're shadowing a Huntsmen." I said proudly.

Velvet: "Nice! Well be careful okay?" She said as I booped her nose.

(Y/n): "Huntsmen extraordinaire!" I said as she giggled and hugged me goodbye before walking away, I ran up to my team who for some reason had worried expressions on their faces.

(Y/n): "What's wrong?" I asked.

Ruby: "just a little worried about going out there is all." Ruby said giving me a weak smile as I quickly flitched each of their foreheads.

RWBY: "OW! What was that for!?" they said in union.

(Y/n): "Are we not team RWBY? Are we not four Huntresses and a Huntsmen in training?" I asked as they looked at me confused.

(Y/n): "I'm not going to tell you not to be worried or concerned, we don't know what's out there but are you girls up to this? Are you?!" I asked them as they remained silent.

(Y/n): "Look you all have to tell me now, because people's lives are at stake, we're about to go to a place filled with Grimm, and it's just five students and a Huntsmen, it doesn't make sense, but I'm going to go out there because I believe we're right about this, and I don't want any of you to go out there if your scared, if you all want to head back to stay that's fine, but if you all put your hands in right now, we're going out there and we're going to fight whatever gets in our way, if you put your hands in right now, your a Huntress." I said to them as I stook my hand out and waited for them to put their hands in too.

Ruby: "He's right girls, we've never back down before we're not going to start now!" She said as she put her hand over mine and I smiled at her proudly.

Blake: "Lets do this." Blake said putting her hand over Ruby's.

Yang: "Heck yeah!" Yang said putting her hand over Blake's.

Weiss: "This is crazy." She said plainly as we all stared at her.

Weiss: "But at this point it's too late to back out now." She said putting her hand over all of ours and I smiled proudly.

(Y/n): "That's right! We have our little fearless leader, our Ice Queen, our ninja kitty, our flaming powerhouse, and the Huntsmen extraordinaire!!" I said excited as Ruby gave me a confident smile, Weiss gave me an eyeroll with a smile, Blake gave me a blushing smile, and Yang gave me a wink and a smile.

Ruby: "Right! Besides it won't be just us fighting out there. We'll be fighting alongside a genuine Huntsmen." She said.

Yang: "Yeah!" Yang shouted with excitement.

(30 seconds later!)

The girls were in a state of confusion and shock on who our Huntsmen to shadow was, me on the other hand, I was actually pretty excited.

Oobleck: "Why hello girls and (Y/n)! Who's ready to fight for their lives?" He asked excited.

(Y/n): "I am!!" I shouted back excited as the girls now looked at me with the  same expression.

(Y/n): "What?" I asked.
