Chapter Four: I'm with you

(Y/n)'s POV:

After that day with Torchwick, I haven't slept good or even had much contact with my team, I try to avoid them and every time they try to speak to me, it ends with me walking away in silence, because I don't sleep, I've taken to training  all night long and lately I've seen Blake also doing the same thing, only she's always reading and looking stuff up about the white fang. Yang and her we're the ones most mad at me, they have the right to be, we don't talk or even eat lunch together.

Right now we were watching Pyrrah take on the team CRDL single-handly, Jaune sure is lucky to have her as his mentor, gotta love them redheads. As she finished up Goodwitch came up to end it.

Goodwitch: "Well done Ms.Nikos, you should have no problem qulifiying for the tournament." She said complementing her as I rolled my eyes, I was grouchy.

Pyrrah: "Thank you professor." She said respectfully.

Goodwitch: "Alright I know that's a tough act to follow but we have time for one more sparring match, any volunteers? Ms. Belladonna? You been rather docile for the past few classes why don't you-"

Mercury: "I'll do it!" That Mercury guy said.

Goodwitch: "Mercury is it? Very well let's find you an opponent." She said looking through her scroll.

Mercury: "Actually I want to fight...You!" He said as to someone while I had my head down.

Goodwitch: "Mr.Valkyrie!" She shouted as I perked up and looked at her, only to see that Murcury actually picked me.

(Y/n): "Oh um can I be excused." I asked as she nodded her head no.

Goodwitch: "I was going to have you and Ms. Belladonna fight, since you both have been quite docile in your classes, but you've been chosen,  now please come up here." She ordered as I jump down and walked to the ring with Mercury.

Mercury: "May the best man win." He said taking a battle stance as I looked annoyed and drew Point Break out, which is the only weapon I wanted to fight with for now.

(Y/n): "Your going to regret this." I said sternly. We stood there for a second in a stare down, till he charged at me and tried kicking me with his left leg, but suddenly he changed his attack and kicked me with his right leg on my face.

Mercury: "Oops sorry about that." He said as he smirked at me. That was what was triggering me nowadays, being smirked at. I quickly got up and threw Point Break at him, he did a matrix move blocking it from hitting him, I ran at him, he quickly recovered and tried to give me a high kick in the face but I slid under his kick and made Point Break come back to me but instead of it coming to my hand, I put my hand down and the hammer flew back hitting Mercury in his chest and knocking him down.

(Like this)

(Y/n): "Oops sorry about that." I said smriking as I made Point Break come back to my hand, but he surprisingly got back up.

Mercury: "Is That all you got?" He asked as I looked at him angrily, he smirked again, and I charged at him swinging Point Break wildly as he blocked all my hits, every time I missed I felt myself get angrier and angrier, he did a flip in the air and kicked me hard and knocked me on my back, I decided to end this, so I pointed Point Break toward him and used my semblance and shot a lightning bolt at him it took him by surprise and shot him back hitting the wall hard, but I didn't stop there, the stream of lightning didn't stop shooting as I got closer to him, he was shouting in pain as everyone started yelling at me to stop, but I couldn't hear them all i hear was a voice in my head shouting: "Your a destroyer!" But suddenly I was floating in the air and Point Break got thrown out of my hand and stuck on the wall while I was slammed on the ground.

Goodwitch: "ENOUGH!!" Goodwitch shouted as I looked at her with anger.

Goodwitch: "Get him to the infirmary!" Goodwitch shouted as Emerald got up and helped Mercury up.

Mercury: "Ow I'm fine." He said leaning on her shoulder as Goodwitch let me go.

Emerald walked witb Mercury pass me as she glared.

Emerald: "What is wrong with you?" She said as I looked at her with concern, I looked up at my team and saw all of them looking at me with concern but with something else too.Fear. I looked at them then I felt tears running down my face and ran out of the classroom.

Ruby/Nora/Goodwitch: "(Y/n)!!!" They called out but I just kept running wanting to get away from it all.

3rd POV:

After the whole fiasco in class the Rwby team were walking out of the class worried about their teammate.

Ruby: "What's wrong with him? I'm so worried." Ruby said feeling super sad about her boyfriend being conflicted.

Weiss: "I agree something is definitely up with him, ever since the fight with Torchwick, I mean he tried to kill him and that Mercury guy! He's losing it for sure." Weiss said.

Yang: "We should go look for him.." Yang said surprising everyone except Blake who was not even listening at all.

Sun: "Hey Blake! You doing okay?" He asked coming up to Blake.

Blake: "I'm fine." She said.

Sun: "So I hear there's this dance going on this weekend. Uh sounds pretty lame but you and me i was  thinking not as lame huh?" He asked.

Blake: "What?" She asked not understanding.

Sun: "The dance, this weekend, you want to go or what?" He asked her.

Blake: "I don't have time for a stupid dance, I thought you of all people would get that." She said walking away, as her team looked at her worried.

(At the Rwby dorm)

Blake: "You what!?" She yelled.

Ruby: "We want you to go to the dance." She said.

Blake: "That's ridiculous!" She said angry.

Yang: "Blake we're worried about you and (Y/n), you guys are letting this investigation get to your guys heads." Yang said.

Weiss: "You guys don't sleep, (y/n)'s been going out to train all night long, you two are hardly eating, and to be honest, your grades have been suffering." She pointed out.

Blake: "I'm pretty sure I speak for (y/n) and I when I say do you honestly think we care about grades? People's lives are at stake! And at least (Y/n) and I  are worrying about what really matters!" She shouted at them angrily.

Yang: "We know and we're all still trying to figure out what Torchwick is up to." Yang said.

Ruby: "And thanks to you and Sun, we know their operating somewhere out  in southeast Vale."

Weiss: "And the Schnee company records singled out Vale as the primary target for dust robberies over the last few months." Weiss added.

Yang: "Don't forget about their missing military tech too." Yang pointed out.

Blake: "But there is still some unanswered questions, plus I'm sure (y/n) knows something too." She pointed out.

Ruby: "Blake you won't be able to find anything if you can't even keep your eyes open." Ruby said concerned.

Yang: "All were asking is you keep it easy for one day and we'll tell (y/n) too when we find him." Yang said.

Weiss: "It will be fun! Yang and I will make sure of it." Weiss said trying to make it sound nicely.

Yang: "Yeah we're planning the whole thing!" Yang said excitedly.

Blake: "Excuse me?"

Weiss: "Team CFVY's away mission took longer than expected."

Yang: "So Weiss and I were asked to pick up where they left off. Now we can make sure you and (y/n) have the perfect night."

Weiss: "And once it's all over we can get right back to our search, rested and ready."

Ruby: "So what do you think?" Ruby asked her

Blake: "I think this is a colossal waste of time." She said getting up and leaving.

Blake: "I'll be in the library if you need me." She said leaving and closing the door.

Yang: *Sighs* "Great." Yang said sounding disappointed.

Weiss: "She can't keep going like this." Weiss said also disappointed.

Suddenly there was a knock at the door, Weiss went to answer and saw Jaune with a guitar.

Jaune: "🎵Weeiisss!🎵" Jaune sang as Weiss slammed the door on him.

Jaune(through the door): "Oh! Come on. Open the door. I promise I won't sing." He said as she opened it again.

Jaune: "🎵I liiieeed! 🎵🎵Weiss Schnee will you accompany me to the dance... Sunday?🎵" he sang to her.

Weiss: "Are you done?" She asked.

Jaune: "Yes?" He said.

Weiss: "No." Weiss said slamming the door shut.

Weiss: "What?" She asked as Ruby and Yang stared at her.

Yang: "And that is why your called the Ice Queen." Yang told her.

Weiss: "All my life, boys have only cared about the perks of my last name, besides, I already have a date in mind." She said smiling.

Ruby: "Date or no date, none of this matters if we cant get Blake or (y/n) to go." She said worried.

(Meanwhile on Beacon's roof) (Y/n)'s POV:

Jaune and Pyrrah were practicing their sword play as I was hiding watching them, and Juane was actually doing really well, Pyrrah is one hell of a teacher, but suddenly Pyrrah sweept his leg which meant he had to work on his footing, Pyrrah laughed and helped him up.

Pyrrah: "Well done, your sword play has improve immensely."

Juane: "Couldn't have done it without you." He said.

(Y/n): "Though your footing could still use some work!" I said climbing up.

Jaune/Pyrrah: "(y/n)!" They said happily.

(Y/n): "Sorry if I worried you guys." I said scratching my head.

Pyrrah: "Are you okay?" She said with concern.

Jaune: "Yeah man you almost killed that guy back there." He pointed out.

(Y/n): "Yeah...im Sorry." I said.

Pyrrah: "Do you maybe want to... talk about it?" She asked putting her hand on my shoulder.

(Y/n): "Not today Pyrrah..but soon." I said giving her a weak smile.

(Y/n): "So Sugar bear, how'd it go with Weiss?" I asked Jaune to change the subject.

Jaune: "I don't know Weiss, well she shut me down, big surprise right?" He said.

Pyrrah: "Well like the saying goes "There's more fish in the sea." She said getting closer to him.

Janue: "That's pretty easy for you to say I bet you have a bunch of guys clamoring over each other to be with You." He said.

Pyrrah: "You'd be surprised." She said.

Jaune: "Oh please if you don't get a date to the dance,  I'll wear a dress. Heh." He laughed as I looked at Pyrrah who had a sadden expression.

(Y/n): "Mind if I sleep with yall tonight? In your dorm with my sister I mean." I asked her.

Pyrrah: "Sure.." She said.

(Y/n): "Id also like to bet something too." I said as she turned to me.

Pyrrah: "What would that be?" She said giving me a weak smile.

(Y/n): "Pyrrah I'd ask you to the dance myself, but something tells me Sugar bear in a dress is going to be the most funniest thing ever, so the best I can do is one, claim a dance from you, and two, my bet is: when he does wear his dress and ends up dancing with you I'll have a rather embarrassing thing I'd like to do just for you, but also so Sugar Bear doesn't end up being the only one remembered." I said giving her the sweetest smile I could, she smiled more sweetly and then did something that shocked me, she hugged me also kissed me in the lips.

(Y/n): "P-p-Pyrrah?" I said studdering and blushing as red as her hair.

Pyrrah: "You know, I wanted Jaune to be my first kiss, but your the next best thing." She said giving me her famously adorable smile.

(Y/n): "You know most guys don't like hearing somthing like that." I said.

Pyrrah: "Yes I know, I'm sorry to say but that's all I can give you, if Jaune had never walked into my life I think id would have fallen head over heels for you." She said blushing, she was bold I'll give her that.

(Y/n): *Sighs* "Its okay." I said Sarcasticly.

(Y/n): "Besides, Sugar Bear is a hell of a catch, sure he might not be all that strong or skilled, but with your help he'll become something, don't worry Pyrrah I may not have your heart in a romantic way but I got the next best thing, your friendship, I just hope Sugar Bear realizes there is a beautiful redhead waiting for him before it's too late." I said as I hugged her, she giggled but hugged me back, I may not be on good terms with my team but I got team JNPR to always turn too, but I will fix things with my team, I have too, and I also got a kitty to talk to.

Pyrrah: "Come on, let's go get some sleep." She said pulling me, I smiled.

(Meanwhile) Cinder's POV:

Emerald: "And finully, Pyrrah Nikos." Emerald said as we were going through those potential threats.

Me: "Oh the invincible girl." I said a bit interested in her.

Mercury: "She's smart, but not invincible." He said reading a comic book.

Mercury: "We shouldn't talk about her too much she just uses polarity as her semblance, she just makes it seem like she's invincible, not saying she isn't a threat but still the "Real" threat is that Valkyrie guy." He said throwing his comic book aside.

Mercury: "He's got everything we should worry about, strength, power, flexibility, etc. And he still looks like he can grow." He said.

Emerald: "He did hit you with his lighting." She said chuckling as he looked annoyed.

Mercury: "I'm serious, that hit was no joke, if he had used more power he would have gone through me like Swiss cheese." He said seriously as we looked at him surprised, Mercury is never a serious person but this was different. He seem scared.

Me: "Worry not Mercury when the time comes we'll properly dispose of him and everyone else especially that Pyrrah Nikos, once I get the power she has I'll be able to take her out and (y/n) as well." I said smirking.

(The next morning) (Y/n)'s POV:

I don't really mind sleeping with my sister, but she's a sleepwalker, that actully gets up too go eat pancakes with syrup wherever she can find any and just to give Ren a night off to sleep, I took the job to watch over her, unfortunately I fell asleep and woke up with syrup on my hair, which took me two hours to get off, but anyway today was the day to apologize to my team for acting aggressive and stuff, I also needed to talk to Blake.

I heard they were in the ballroom so i headed there, as I walk into ballroom i saw Weiss asking Ruby something but she looked kind of down.

Weiss: "I need you to pick out a tablecloth." She said sliding the same colored tablecloth to her.

Ruby: "Aren't they both the same?" She asked as Weiss sighed in frustration.

Weiss: "I don't even know why I asked!" She said until she turned around and saw me.

Weiss: "(Y/n)!?" She shouted as Ruby perked up and Yang quickly dropped a giant speaker.

RWY: "(Y/N)!!!" They shouted tackling me to the ground.

(Y/n): "Girls!! ....Your... squishing me!!" I shouted with struggle as we all got up, but Ruby got on my back and had tearful eyes.

Weiss: "Your in big trouble mister!!" She said pointing at me.

Yang: "Damn straight!! Where were you?" She asked with her hands on her hips meaning she was serious, I quickly grabbed Ruby and set her in front of me just to be serious.

(Y/n): "Look...I needed some space, ever since that fight with Torchwick, I've...been feeling off my game...I know how I've been behaving is honestly aggressive and cold and it's honestly unacceptable, and I'm truly sorry...Truth is I've been feeling a certain way and I promise I'll talk about it with you guys but...im really ready yet... so if you'll forgive me now id like to be back with my team, I promise I'll tell you guys what's wrong another time." I said nervously and serious too.

Yang: "Don't you mean "Your Girls"?" She said chuckling as I blushed and looked away.

Ruby: "I forgive you." Ruby said giving me her sweetest smile.

Ruby: "But your taking me to the dance!" She demanded.

(Y/n): "I was going to take you anyway..." I said blushing.

Weiss: "I forgive you too, however id like... a dance as well." She said crossing her hands and looking away blushing.

(Y/n): "Okay! Definitely one my first dances." I said as Ruby hit my hip and pouted as I ruffled her hair, I looked at Yang who looked like she was debating real hard.

Yang: *Sighs Deeply* "Honestly I forgave you a while ago..." She said not looking at me as I smiled a bit.

Yang: "But three things are going to happen and you are GOING to do them." She demanded.

(Y/n): "O-Okay.." I said nervously.

Yang: "First, your going to help me convince Blake to come to the dance and by convince I mean I just want you there. Secondly, you OWE me a dance. and Finally, you are going to tell us what Torchwick said to you, that has you all freaked out and scared and don't give me excuses you hear me and it will be soon not today not tomrrow but soon?" She said crossing her arms with a serious expression.

(Y/n): "Okay..Ill Do it." I said confidently looking straight into her eyes, for a second we stood like that, till she giggled and ruffled my hair.

Yang: "Your too cute Tiger, and it's good to have you back." She said giving me a quick peck on the lips.

Ruby: "Hey! I wanted to kiss him first!" She said as she pulled me for a kiss that was honestly really rough but a good kiss no less.

Weiss: "Jeez get a room you three!" She said rolling her eyes and walking away to do something.

(Y/n): "Where's Blake?" I asked as Ruby went back to slouching.

Ruby: "She's in the library..She doesn't want to go to the dance." Ruby said sounding sad about it as I rubbed her back.

Yang: "Don't worry she'll come." She said confidently as I looked at her curious as to what she's going to do or say to get Blake to come, she saw me staring and winked at me.

Yang: "Weiss! I thought we agreed no doilies!" She said as Weiss came up to her.

Weiss: "If I don't get doilies! You don't get fog machines!" She said sternly as I chuckled, the door opened to reveal Sun and Neptune coming in.

Neptune: "Your dance is going to have fog machines?" He asked coming up to us.

Weiss: "We were thinking about it." She said sounding a bit innocently cute, I just rolled my eyes, and who needs to get a room?

Neptune: "That's pretty cool." He said.

Sun: "Are you ladies all excited to play dress up?" Sun said making fun of them.

Ruby: "Pfft yeah right." She said as I ruffled her hair.

Yang: "Laugh all you want, I'll be turning heads tomorrow night, especially one head." She said smirking at me, as I blushed and looked away embarrassed.

Weiss: "What are you two...Three wearing tomorrow?" She said looking at me and the guys, damn it i haven't even thought about that.

Sun: "Um this?" He said pointing to his usual outfit.

Neptune: "Ignore him, for he does not know what he says." He said blocking Sun.

Sun: "I may have moved to Mistral, but I grew up in Vacuo, it's not exactly a shirt and tie kind of place." He said.

Yang: "Yeah, we've noticed." She said sounding unimpressed.

Sun: "So..what does Blake think of all this? Is she still being all...Blake-y?" He asked.

Weiss: "Obviously." Weiss said.

Ruby: "I still can't think of a way to change her mind." Ruby said concerned, bless her heart.

Yang: "Guys, trust me, Blake will be at that dance tonight, right (y/n)?" She asked me out of nowhere.

(Y/n): "Ummm Yeah?" I said still confused, as she grabbed the collar of my shirt and pulled me away.

(Y/n): "Whow! Where are we going?!" I asked.

Yang: "Catch us a kitty." She said smiling as I looked at her confused.

(At the library!)

So here I was at the library, and Yang told me her plan to draw Blake's attention, and let me just say honestly it would be adorable, but if I was a cat Faunus like  Blake, I'd be insulted a bit. Her plan was to use a laser pointer to draw her to us like an actual cat, to my surprise it actually worked, and here she was coming to us.

Yang: "🎵Hellooo!🎵" she sang as I nodded my head.

Blake: "what are you guys-"

Yang: "We need to talk!" She said grabbing Blake and I was zooming away with us to a classroom, oh no.

Jaune's POV:

I was looking for (y/n) for some advice about girls but I couldn't find him so I went to the next best person, Ren was coming out of the bathroom when I caught him.

Me: "We need to talk." I told him as I dragged him away.

Jaune: "Ren...Im just going to come out and say it, you are one of my best friends, these past few months I feel like we've really bonded, even though you don't say much, I mean you are really quiet, to be perfectly honest I don't know much about you personally, but darn it! I consider you to be the brother I never had!" I shouted honestly.

Ren: "And I you.." He said nicely.

Me: "Which is why I wanted to get your advice on...Girls." I said embarrassed.

Ren: "Girls?" He said confused.

Me: "I just don't know...how to...Girls, I guess what I'm asking is..well how did you and Nora..?" I said as he looked even more confused.

Ren: "Uh.."

Nora: "Ahem. Umm Ren and I aren't really together, together." She said smiling on a bed with headphones and a book.

Me: "Nora! I said headphones on!" I shouted at her as she quickly put her headphones on.

Ren: "Jaune..what is this all about?" He asked me.

Me: "Its Weiss, I'm completely head over heels for her, and she won't give me a chance, she's cold but...she's also incredible, she's smart, graceful, and talented, I mean have you heard her sing?! I just wish she'd take me seriously you know? I wish I could tell her how I feel without messing it up." I told him.

Pyrrah: "then do it." Pyrrah said standing at the door.

Me: "Uh wha?" I said as she came in.

Pyrrah: "Tell her exactly what you just said, no rediculous schemes, no pickup lines, just be honest." She said.

Me: "But what-"

Pyrrah: "Jaune...you cant get it wrong If it's the truth." She said as I looked up at her with a newly found confidence.

Jaune: "your right! Thanks Pyrrah." I said getting up

Jaune: "Good talk Ren." I said as I went to go find Weiss.

3rd POV:

As Jaune left, Nora and Ren looked at Pyrrah with concern.

Nora: *Sighs* Practice what you preach Pyrrah." Nora said giving advice as Pyrrah walked away sadly.

(Y/n)'s POV:

I grabbed my head for a second as I just felt something went super wrong.

Yang: "What's wrong (Y/n)?" Yang asked me looking at me worried.

(Y/n): "I don't know, I feel a disturbance." I said.

Blake: "Yang if your going to tell me to stop, you might as well save your breath." Blake said to Yang.

Yang: "I don't want you to stop, I want you to slow down." Yang said to her as Blake walked back and forth.

Blake: "We don't have the luxury to slow down." She said sternly.

Yang: "Its not a luxury, it's an necessity." She said.

Blake: "The necessity is to stop Torchwick." She said angrily.

Yang: "And we're going to, but first you have to sit and listen to what I have to say, both of you." Yang said looking at us both patting the space next to her.

Blake: "Fine.." She said sitting down as I also got closer too.

Yang: "Ruby and I, grew up in Patch, an island just off the coast of Vale, our parents were Huntsmen, our dad taught at signal and our mom would take on missions all around the kingdom, her name was Summer Rose, and she was like, Super-mom, baker of cookies and slayer of giant monsters." She said as I started getting excited inside, she sounded like the best Huntress ever.

Yang: "But then one day she left for a mission and never came back." She said as my excitement died after hearing that.

Yang: "It was tough. Ruby was really torn up but I think she was still too young to understand what was going on you know? And my dad just...shut down." She said, I mean, who wouldn't? when your wife who was a strong women and mother to your children doesn't come back home like she normally always did, I'm guessing that's what it feels like to "Feel dead inside".

Yang: "It wasn't long before I figured out why, Summer wasn't the first love he lost, she was the second." She said as I looked at her with confusion and then realized what she meant right away.

Yang: "The first... was my mom." She said as I hit the nail on the head.

Yang: "He wouldn't tell me everything, but I learned that both of them had been on a team together with Summer and Qrow, and that she left me with him just when I was born, no one had seen her since." She said as I got up and just took a minute.

Yang: "You okay (y/n)?" She asked, I didn't turn around. I couldn't.

Blake: "Why did she leave you?" Blake asked the million dollar question.

Yang: *Sighs* "That question...why?" She said getting up as I turned to her curious.

Yang: "I don't know the answer, but I was determined to find out." She said.

Yang: "Its all i thought about. I asked anyone i could what they knew about her." She said starting to draw something on the chalkboard.

Yang: "Then one day I found something, what I thought was a clue so I could find answers, or maybe even my mother, I waited for my dad to head out, put Ruby in a wagon and headed out, I must have walked for hours, I had cuts and bruises, was totally exhausted, but I wasn't going to let anything stop me, when we finally got there, I could barely stand, but I didn't care, I made it. And then I saw them, those burning red eyes, there we were, a toddler asleep in the back of a wagon and a stupid scared little girl who was too exhausted to even cry for help, we might as well have been served on a silver platter, but as luck would have it, our uncle showed up just in time, my stubbornness should have gotten us killed that night." She said finished with her drawing as Blake got up.

Blake: "Yang..im sorry that happened to you..and I understand what your trying to tell me, but this is different! I'm not a child and this isn't just a search for answers, I just can't-"

Yang: "I told you I'm not telling you to stop! I haven't, to this day I still want to know what happened to my mother and why she left me, but I will never let that search control me. We're going to find the answers were looking for Blake, but if we destroy ourselves in the process what good are we?" She said as I got a bit closer to both of them.

Blake: "You don't understand, I'm the only one that can do this!" She said angrily.

Yang: "No YOU don't understand! If Roman Torchwick came through that door, what would you do?" She said angrily as her eyes glew red.

Blake: "Id fight him!" She said angry.

Yang: "Youd lose!" She said pushing her.

Blake: "I can stop him!" She yelled trying to push Yang but failed.

Yang: "You can't even stop me!" She yelled pushing Blake on the table as she fell on the table weakly, as she got back up Yang hugged her.

Yang: "I don't want you to stop...just please get some rest, not just for you but for the people you care about." She said as she walked up to me and put a hand on my shoulder giving me a small smile.

Yang: "(y/n) already owes me a dance but I'll save one for you too Blake." She said giving her a wink and leaving.

Blake: *Sighs* "she has a way with words doesn't she?" Blake said walking up to me, I didn't answer, this just made me worse than before, one thing I never thought of was my parents, I didn't even know them, suddenly Blake hugged me from behind.

Blake: "Can I....also get a dance too?" She asked me as I looked at her with a emotionless expression, I wasn't going to answer her, but...

(Y/n): "Who said I didn't already have a dance saved for you?" I said with a smile, and carried her on my back giving a piggyback ride

(Y/n): "Lets get you to bed." I said as she smiled, kissed my cheek and closed her eyes.

truth is I can't think about that now, I already had a family, Nora, my girls, and my friends. That's all i needed.

(Y/n): "Hey Blake?" I said as she perked up and looked at me.

Blake: "Yeah?" She asked.

(Y/n): "I'm with you till the end of the line." I said as I looked at the corner of my eye to see her staring at me with curious eyes.
