How Do I Do This
09:18, 25 December 2023Draco sat in his car looking out the window at the place he would now call his.
"Well, this is it," he thought, "the new me."
He opened the car door, got out and stretched. Every house in the vicinity was enormous, though not as massive as Malfoy Manor. Since the divorce was fast, the place was recommended to him by a family friend.
The long walkway was beautiful with flowers and shrubs on both sides of it. He slyly used his wand to unlock the front door and immediately saw how vast and spacious the inside was. The three-story residence wasn't necessary, but it was what he was used to.
Because there were bound to be some Muggles in the houses surrounding him that saw him arrive, he would not be able to unpack magically. At least, not in broad daylight. Being so, he needed to move in at least a few things, otherwise, they would wonder why he wasn't unpacking his belongings. So, Draco did just that.
The two suitcases he decided to manually bring in were full of clothes, shoes, and as ridiculous as it sounds, kitchen supplies. The fact that he shoved a bunch of things from his kitchen into a suitcase showed just how desperate he was to leave Astoria as soon as possible.
The area right inside the front door was one big space, with the hallway ahead, the kitchen being on the immediate right and the living room on the left. The emptiness made him feel like a pathetic bachelor, though one living in a huge house.
Sighing, he placed the suitcase with the kitchen paraphernalia inside it, on the island. The first thing he took out was a brand new blender, a Muggle appliance. Astoria bought it to try and act like she cared about Muggles, but, of course, never used it. So much for 'blending in'.
Never having to organise anything in his life, Draco wasn't certain how to go about unpacking, so he placed the blender in the corner of the granite countertop and took a step back to see how it looked. He sighed again. This new life already felt bleak.
"I really don't want to do this. How on earth do Muggles unpack things by hand?"
Giving up on it he took out his wand, and, with a wave, everything meant for the kitchen was sitting on the counter.
"There. That's better." He dusted his hands off as though he just moved a large couch by hand, then he went off to explore the rest of the three-story home.
There were several bedrooms on each floor, each one large in size. A bathroom was on each floor, too. On the top floor, there was what was clearly the master bedroom, with a jacuzzi in its bathroom. One other thing he was pleased to find on the top floor was a smaller room. He planned to transform it into an at-home office. He never got to have one when he lived at the mansion because Astoria used all three of them to store some of her valuables.
Deciding that most of the Muggles would be asleep by now, Draco went outside to his car to bring the rest of his belongings in.
