Chapter 18

Two days have gone by and Hiromi or "Shadow" had gotten his way into the hospital. The kids showed up more during visiting hours, visiting us both. I heard a rumor that Reki had got to the hospital but quickly left before he got to see Shadow. I hope he was doing okay. Miya has been visiting me more, although he's just been sitting quietly and playing games on his Nintendo. I do enjoy the company. 

It was 4:00 PM now and I was in the lobby with Shadow. We were talking about "S". I knew we weren't supposed to, he did too, but we did it anyway. It was important. So much had happened in two days. Reki had become friends with Langa again and he was going against Adam, in substitute to Shadow. The beef was happening tonight.

" That kid has to have said 'no', right?" Shadow asked in disbelief. 

" He's not smart enough to decline," I told him. Unlike Shadow, I was calm. I knew that Reki found his spark again and I knew that Reki was confident enough to stay on the road longer than he did before.

" Is he an idiot?!" Shadow shouted in the hospital. Some people looked over, wondering what the hell we were talking about. " Oh! Sorry." He said to the surrounding people. He turned to me again. " Did he forget he got his ass handed to him?"

" Most likely," I answered. I just hope he doesn't end up like me. 

" Mr. Sakurayashiki?" A light voice called for me. I turned and Ms. Fujiaki was standing next to my wheelchair. She had her normal smile on her face. " You're going to be signed out soon, we need to get you ready." 

" Oh, right," I said and followed her as she walked ahead of me. 

We went to my hospital room and she got medication for me ready in a bag. I decided that Kojiro was going to help me with my life, Kojiro didn't decline. She gave me papers to sign and told me that Kojiro was going to come in a few hours. She left me, taking the papers with her. I moved to the window and moved the curtains aside, watching people walk and drive and watched as the sun and clouds shifted.
