Chapter 13

Joe was in the lead. I noticed Langa was slowing down. He looked hopeless. He was losing badly and only a few people would shout out to the two of them, otherwise, we were all watching intently on the race. I looked away for a moment, adjusting my belt, and when I looked up people were cheering for Langa again. He started going faster and catching up to Joe. 

How are you going to make it out? 

Joe moved out of his missile-style and into a standing position. The two were getting close to the abandoned factory and there wasn't a close enough entrance for Joe to get to. So he made his own. He went up a ramp and crashed his way into the factory. People cheered for him. I knew he would have the physical strength to do a stunt like that. He always liked being aggressive.

Everyone watched as Joe did a sort of maneuver with his board and feet where he pumped off of the steel frame. A move like his Power Break. Joe's fans continued shouting and cheering for Joe to win while some others focused on what would happen next. Langa sort of copied Joe's Power Break, which surprised me. I wouldn't think he had enough calf muscle to land it nicely. Shadow and Miya joined the shouting as I focused on the screen. Kojiro.

Joe and Langa were so close to tieing. It was incredible how fast they were going. My eyes widened as the winner crossed the line first. The two skaters breaked and Langa's skateboard broke and he stumbled and fell back. I let out a breath I didn't realize I was holding. 

There was one more competition tonight. We waited for Joe and Snow to come back to the starting base and the crowd got closer to the stage for the last competitors to be announced. The two skaters were Adam and . . .
