Chapter Seven
07:10, 9 April 2012The Doctor and I had been traveling for about two months, traveling to many places and facing many different creatures, the Doctor decided to take me on a fun trip. To a space beach. I was so excited when he told me.
We didn't worry about packing as we went flying through time and space. We landed with a VHROOMPH VHROOMPH as we ran to the door. But before I could open the door, the Doctor's hand was holding the door shut, a smile plasted on his face. "Ready?" he asked. I nodded as he flung the door open, stepping out. I followed, only to be hit by cold air.
"Doctor?" I asked, not sure why it was freezing outside. The Doctor was last in thought, with his own confused look on his face.
I looked out over the land to see a frozen ocean, snow covering everything, ice hanging from everything. It was the complete opposite of what I thought a space beach would be.
The Doctor ran up to a random person who was walking by with a fishing pole and an axe. Like he was going to go ice fishing. "Excuse me mister, why is it so cold?" the Doctor asked, looking very serious. The man just stared at him like he was crazy. "Have you been around here in the past 14 years?" the man asked, now examing the Doctor and I, realizing we were different. "No, what's happened over the past 14 years?" the Doctor asked, taking a step closer to the man, extremely interested.
"This!" he yelled, dropping his supplies. "14 years ago the weather was perfect! It was 90 degress out, the sun shining every day, kids played at the beach. Then suddenly it went down hill. Every year now the tempeture drops ten degrees. Now it's fifty below every day of the year," he said, clearly angry at the weather. And I didn't blame him. I would be very angry at it too.
"We're travelers. I'm Violet and this is the Doctor," I said, taking a step toward the man. He was a older man, probably about fifty years old. He had gray hair, his skin was wrinkled from when the sun was out every day. His hands were chapped from the cold weather. But he seemed to be very nice, dispite his temper about the weather.
"Hello Violet, I'm Randy," he said, his hand outstreached. I kindly took it, shaking his freezing hand. I smiled at him. "I'm a fishermen but work isn't very good. I live near by," he said, picking up his fishing pole and an axe to break through the ice. The Doctor walked up, patting him on the shoulder, "Oh good. Could you point us in the direction?" he asked, thinking we were staying there that night. I giggled, when Randy shot him a look, not sure what to do.
I slightly smiled him when he looked to me. He sighed, "Take the main road. It's the first house on the right." The Doctor took off up the road. "Thank you," I said to Randy, before chasing after the Doctor.
That night, the Doctor and I laid next to eachother in a small bed the Randy had. He only had one spare bedroom with a small bed. He was very nice and gave us many blankets. It was very cold in the room, well it was very cold everywhere. I yawned, curling up next to the Doctor, feeling the warmth of his body. I slightly smiled falling asleep.
In the morning, I woke up with the Doctor sitting on the bed, putting his shoes on. "Get up, Pond. Something is taking the sun's energy and we need to find out what," he said, throwing me a jacket. I took it, getting up and slidding it on.
After walking in the cold for an hour, we arrived at a cave. The Doctor jogged up to the cave, pulling out his sonic screwdriver.
He quickly soniced the cave, then looked at the screwdriver. He had a serious, curious look as he looked into the cave. "It's a deep cave, that is very cold," he said, looking in the cave. "Doctor, everything is cold!" I yelled sarcastically at him, as a shiver went down my spine.
But the Doctor ignored me as he ran into the cave. I followed him, when he came to a sudden stop. I looked up at him. He was looking intently at the wall. I looked up to see many strange drawings. They looked like they were in a different language. "What is this Doctor?" I asked, staring up at them. "I don't know. The TARDIS can translate any language. This is a language that the TARDIS doesn't know," he said, staring at it.
The Doctor stared at the wall for about an hour lost in thoughts before I looked outside to see the sun start to set. "Doctor," I said, looking at him as I started to shiver. I went up and shook his arm, he looked at me with concern. "Doctor, it's starting to get dark and colder out," I said, concern we weren't going to get back in time. "Ok, we'll leave," he said, starting to head out.
When we got back to Randy's house we went to bed. I laid next to the Doctor, under many blankets. I looked up at him to see that he was very deep in thought. Probably thinking about the strange drawings in the cave. He seemed in his own little world but he seemed very stressed and confused. He also looked very good looking, with the way his eyes stared at the ceiling, the way his hair lightly laid against his face.
I thought about all the dreams I had of us. Not just of us traveling but us romantically. I never truly thought about us romantically, if it would work. We were both Time Lords, that wouldn't age and die like a human. We could travel for a very long time together. Could it work?
I closed my eyes as I blocked out all my thoughts. I opened my eyes, and quickly leaned over placing my lips on the Doctor's.
The world just melted away as my lips sat on his. The warmth of his lips met mine. He didn't kiss back at first but after a few seconds, his lips started to move with mine. The world only had the Doctor and I as our lips moved. My eyes were peacefully closed, as we broke apart. I wasn't sure what the Doctor thought about it so I decided not to look. I avoided his look as I laid down, snuggling up next to him. I felt a little bit of hope as I felt his arms wrap around me. I smiled as I drifted to sleep.
Doctor's POV. . .
My head was running wild with thoughts of the cave and of the strange drawings, and now all those thoughts were watched away with my thoughts of Violet and I's kiss. It was amazing. I felt so alive, then I had in my 900 years of living.
And I knew it would be. I knew that if we ever kissed, it would be amazing, even if I was married. Every since she told me about her dreams. Should I tell her about what they mean? Did she already know?
I sighed, I for once didn't know what to do. I took a deep breath before closing my eyes. Trying to force myself to sleep.
Violet's POV. . .
I woke up, with the Doctor already up and running around. "Ready Pond?" he asked, handing me my jacket. I smiled, putting it on. But inside I felt horrible. He didn't say anything about last night. I wanted to know what he thought. Did he like it? Did he dislike me for it? I didn't know what to do, I was always taught that the Doctor lies. So I kept my mouth closed.
As we approached the cave, we saw new fresh tracks in the snow around the cave. I looked at the Doctor, who stared at them, then looked towards the cave. "Violet, I'll follow the tracks, you look in the cave at the drawings. I need a Time Lords eyes," he said, looking at the tracks. I looked nervously at him.
He sensed my nervousness and looked up at me. He stood up, and put his hands on both sides of my face, gently. "Violet, I need you to listen to me. You're a Time Lord, you were made to do this. You were made to travel with me. You will be fine, I will come back in a few minutes," he said, as his lips softly kissed my forehead. I nodded, smiling slightly.
I walked into the cave as the Doctor walked away. I stared at the drawings, when something clicked. I knew what it was!!
It was-
Third Person POV. . .
Violet hit the ground hard. The wooden object that she was struck with fell to the ground. Violet was grabbed at the ankels and was slowly being dragged away as blood started to leak from her head. The Doctor was on the other side of the entrance, missing Violet being dragged a few feet away before she was picked up being carried across the snow covered land.
