Tomato Face

"REESE!" I cried, chasing after him as I ran out of the parking lot. "I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING TO YOU!" He screamed, running faster. "YOU DIDN'T DO ANYTHING AS FAR AS I KNOW, REESE! I NEED YOUR HELP!" He stopped running and started walking back towards me. "You.""Me.""Need my help.""Yes.""Why in the hell."I sighed before looking up at him. "I think Malcolm likes someone else."Reese stared at me for a few seconds, stunned. "You really think so?" He whispered."Yeah. There's this new girl and she was all over him, Reese. The worst part is that he never even made a move to stop her. He looked at her weird a couple times, but that was it. And then after school ended, she asked him if he wanted to hang out." I stopped talking and Reese figured out what happened next. "He said yes."I looked at the cracks in the sidewalk and nodded slowly. Reese sighed and pulled me into a hug. He pulled away and I looked at him, surprised. "I hate hugging but you really need one right now," He muttered, trying to hide the growing redness of his cheeks. I smiled and kissed his cheek. "Thank you," I said, laughing as the color of his face turned into the color of a super ripe tomato. I heard arguing from behind us and turned. I scowled as I saw Malcolm and Dewey running down the sidewalk. "Hey, I'll keep an eye on him and I'll call you tonight, okay?" Reese asked. I nodded and gave him one more quick hug. "Thanks, Reese," I said, running down the sidewalk towards my house.I just really hoped he could figure it out before I would have to.
