"Okay fine..." Haneul muttered, closing her eyes. She didn't have any energy to argue against him as well. So it's better to shut up and sleep.
Her head felt like it was gonna burst any moment, and her body was in too much pain. She felt him sitting on the edge of the bed, reaching out to caressing her head, she let it go, thinking it was her hallucination, but it felt good and again her eye lids felt heavy, and sleep engulfed her.
While Wonwoo was surprised with himself, at how tender and caring be was acting around her. But he didn't dwell on it, telling himself that he was doing this as a responsible human being. He sat there by her side, patting her head, until doctor arrived, with the butler.
Wonwoo got up, giving space to the doctor to check up Haneul. Wonwoo was thankful that Eva wasn't here, she would be freaking out given Haneul's condition.
The doctor checked her. "Mr. Jeon there is nothing to worry about it's just a viral fever, but it's pretty high, so I have given her an injection, she will be okay, after she wakes up give her warm porridge and then medicine i prescribed, let her rest then she will be alright in couple of days." he said, handing Wonwoo a note of prescribed notes.
"Thank you doctor." Wonwoo thanked sincerely, "Mr. Lee, please escort him to the exit." He added, addressing to the butler. Said Mr. Lee quickly nodded, escorting the doctor to the exit.
Sitting on the bed again, by her side, he quickly ordered the medicines. And kept his phone away. He turned his attention to Haneul, who looked so peaceful and adorable while sleeping. He shifted to sit beside her head, and started massaging her temples. Leaning his own head on backrest of the bed.
He didn't even change out of his office attire, he had only removed the tie and blazer.
He then remembered something and he picked up his phone calling his Mom. "Hello? Wonwoo-ya!" his mother chirped through the other line of the phone.
"Hello Mom, I wanted to ask a favour. Can you keep Eva there tonight?" Wonwoo asked, looking at Haneul's sleeping face.
"Hmmn why? Is something going on? Am I going to get news soon?" his mother teased him.
"Mom please it's nothing Like that!" Wonwoo sternly denied, sighing he added. "Haneul is down with the viral fever, so I'm sure she wouldn't want Eva to caught fever as well. That's why it's better for Eva to stay with you. And it's the weekend tomorrow so let her stay. I'll call you when Haneul's fever would go down."
"oh is that so, then take care of her properly." His Mom warned him, with concern.
"Yes Mom, I'll take care of her, now where is Eva?" He asked, with a chuckle. "She is good and is currently out with her grandpa." His mother said, he could possibly hear the mocked Annoyance in his mother's voice. That only made him chuckle.
"Mom you are acting like she doesn't love you, at all?" Wonwoo, muttered over the phone.
"Of course, she does but sometimes she loves her grandpa more than grandma, hmph!" his Mom sulked. He smiled again, at how his Mom was being dramatic. "But Wonwoo-ya what about Haneul, is Eva getting along well?" His mother added, suddenly getting serious.
He looked down at Haneul, he continued to tenderly run his fingers through her locks, massaging her scalp. He smiled when she leaned more into his touch, seeking comfort. "Mom, ask about this to Eva and you won't hear the end of it. She is more clingy and affectionate with Haneul than me." Wonwoo, chuckled softly. He couldn't take his eyes off Haneul.
"I'm glad, see your Dad wasn't wrong when he said he trusted his friend's daughter was the right one for our Eva." His mother said on the other side of the phone.
"But Mom... I'm still scared... What if she-"
"Wonwoo-ya she is not like her, I promise you can entrust your heart to Haneul. She is a sweetheart. And I can tell it's not a pretense." His mother, cut his sentence short. With a soft voice, he kept looking down at Haneul who was sleeping peacefully.
"I know Mom, I'm trying slowly... I can see she genuinely cares for Eva and me, in fact all of us. That's why I decided to be more friendly towards her, I'm trying to take care of her, at least half the amount of how much she is giving us." Wonwoo said, when Haneul started stirring awake,
"Mom i think she is waking up, so I'll hang up and look after her." Wonwoo said hurriedly, then bidding bye they quickly hung up the call.
"Hey... How are you feeling now?" Wonwoo asked, softly. "I feel okay, but I'm thirsty..." She muttered still quite weakly.
"Wait..." He quickly made her sit up, beside him and brought the glass of water to her lips. She looked at him, for a moment. He gestured for her to drink. She let him make her drink water. "Now don't move an inch I'll come back with the porridge." He warned her firmly, leaving no room for any argument, she just nodded and watched him rushed downstairs.
'He is still in his office clothes? Was he sitting by my side the whole time?' Haneul thought with a small smile tugging at her lips, looking at the door from where he retreated.
Soon he emerged through the bedroom door. "Here, let's feed you." he climbed up on his side of the bed, she reached out to get the bowl from him. But he stopped her, "Wait, I'll help you." she stared at him, like she had seen a ghost. "What? Friends do take care of each other." He added, looking at her expressions.
She was slapped with reality that he was taking care of her as a friend not as a husband. She just nodded, opening her mouth obediently. When he bought a spoonful to her mouth.
"I called Mom, and asked her to let Eva stay there tonight, because doctor said you are having viral fever." Wonwoo said, while feeding her slowly and steadily.
"That's better... Or else she would just be clinging to me and I don't want her to get sick again." Haneul muttered softly. ...Guys I'm really sorry for just disappearing, but my Wattpad was acting up and I was busy because I got a new job and my exams were there as well but I'll update from today just a few chapters are left!!! 😭😭
