07:00, 17 April 2025It was a sunny Saturday morning. The flowers opened under the warm appearing sunlight, even more doing so since it was the first day of May. The birds were chirping their morning song, the roosters in the countryside were waking their owners and the unhappy neighbors up with their crows, and a horned ginger was fast asleep in his bed. The rising sun peeked through the blinds of his window, irritating his sleeping consciousness. He still did not fully wake up until he heard -you guessed it- a pounding on his door.
"Junior! Court day! Wake up, get ready, and look presentable!" Bowser shouted from outside Junior's locked door. Junior sat up groggily in his bed, trying his hardest to rub the tiredness out of his eyes. It then fully hit him that it was the day he'd both been waiting impatiently for and dreading. He decided to save the worrying for later and for now find a nice outfit to wear to possibly make himself seem less crazy. Crazy people don't dress nice for these sorts of things, right?
After digging through his entire closet, he finally found a white short-sleeve dress shirt with a black vest over it, a blue tie, and some fancy black pants he had no memory of even buying. He slipped those on and went to the bathroom to look in the mirror. He surprisingly looked very nice, even with his messy hair which he quickly combed through. He then went back to his room, where he saw he had a text from Cody.
Cody Messaged You: Court day today. How are you doing?
Junior: Still nervous, but at least I look nice.
Jeffy was woken up by his father knocking on his door frame. He sat up, and yawned. "Daddy, there's no school today..." He grumbled.
"I know Jeffy. It's court day. I got you a suit so you'll look nice." Marvin told him, hanging the suit on his son's doorknob. He waited for Jeffy to stand to make sure he didn't go back to sleep, then left the room to get himself ready.
Jeffy kiss his cherrios good morning, reluctantly took off his comfy bunny suit, and put on the suit his dad gave him. He looked at himself in his phone camera (which he managed to steal back from his dad) and sent a picture to Rose. She answered back fairly quick.
Mommay messaged you: Awwww my handsome boy :D I can't wait to see you again. I've missed you.
Jeffay: I mis you to mommy
He then put his phone in one of the suit pockets and went to go get some breakfast. On the way to the stairs, he met up with Junior. Junior's clothing wasn't as fancy as Jeffy's but he still looked snazzy. "Hey Junior. You ready to see that big-horned bastard lose?" Jeffy greeted.
"If that happens, then absolutely." Junior replied, giving the helmeted boy a small smile. They went downstairs and saw some slightly-burnt pancakes on a plate at each seat, with some crispy bacon on the side. Marvin and Bowser were already sat down, one of Bowser's pancakes already down his esophagus. Junior sat down and started cutting his up.
As he cut his breakfast, he noticed that his father was in the same outfit he wore during that interview. He knew Bowser was far from a fancy man, but if he was so confident about winning you'd think he'd wear something different. As for Marvin, he was still in his nightshirt, the front of it having bits of pancake batter on it. He looked like a mess, though he was probably busy cooking all morning, so Junior didn't blame him. Chef PeePee looked like that a lot too, especially around dinnertime.
"Everyone hurry up. It's nearly 8 o' clock and I want to be there early." Bowser said, finishing the last part of his food before going to the kitchen to throw away his trash. Junior started picking up his eating pace, along with Jeffy and Marvin.
Once everyone finished, Marvin quickly put together a half-assed fancy outfit while Jeffy and Junior stayed at the table.
"I really hope the jury doesn't mess this up... And I hope Chef PeePee can defend himself." Junior said.
"Me too. I'm sure after this Bowser's gonna kick us out too if he wins. Then it'll be even harder to help you." Jeffy agreed, also sharing his worries.
Junior's phone buzzed with another text from Cody. He pulled it out and read it, then showed it to Jeffy.
Cody messaged you: Good and semi-bad news Junior. My mom isn't going to be able to testify in court, but she will be on the jury. Idk how they let that happen but yay!
"What's that mean?" Jeffy asked.
"It means that Cody's mom will be able to convince the other jury people to put my dad in jail." Junior said, a little happier than he originally was. "I hope it works out."
Marvin came back downstairs, this time in a much fancier outfit. It was a black suit-jacket with a white shirt and red bow-tie underneath. He also had on some black pants that looked kinda like Junior's. "Jeffy, come on. We're getting in the car to leave."
Junior sighed and put his head down on the table. "I'm not ready..."
