Chapter 3
21:43, 6 April 2019Link was on his way to where the Gorons were. Death Mountain. Though the location stuck out like a sore thumb, he knew that he would need thorough directions to get there safety. Perhaps he can gather intel from the town that was the halfway point.
In a pleasant yet lively town, Link read the sign as he was entering. Kakariko Village. He knew the people were well informed about the Gorons since the two villages agreed to a compromise years ago. But who could he ask?
Turning towards what it seems to be a bar, Link knew that would be the best place to gather information.
Going through old western swinging doors, Link made his entrance. The people there grew silent, looking at Link with caution. All eyes were on him at this point. Some looked tough while glaring, some looked intimidated by Link's demeanor.
Not saying a word or even looking their way, Link walked forward towards the bartender. Sitting on the stool, Link took out some rupees, laying them on the counter. "I'll take a shot."
The bartender arched an eyebrow. "Aren't you a little young to be drinking?"
Irritated on the inside but not letting it show, Link took out his ID, showing proof. "I am of legal age." The ID did in fact say that Link was 21 years old.
The bartender gulped, feeling somewhat embarrassed for mistaking Link's age. "Coming right up, sir!" He quickly pour a drink in a shot glass.
Link grabbed the small glass, quickly drinking it in one gulp. Placing the glass back down, Link wiped his mouth with his sleeve. "I got a question. Can you give me directions to Goron City?"
"Goron City? It's much too hot to go there! Your body will burn up in a crisp!"
"I'm well aware of that. I just need clear directions to get to it."
"Well... Death Mountain is a pretty big mountain. It's easy to get lost if you're not careful. I'll draw you a map of the easiest way to get there."
"Thanks."
"Would you like another shot? It would be on the house."
"I would. I appreciate that."
After taking another shot of the drink, the bartender handed him a folded piece of paper. "If you follow what the map says, you'll be there in no time."
Link took the piece of paper, stuffing it in his pocket. "I appreciate your help."
"I hope you don't mind me asking, but what are you going there for? Are you going to do a mineral trade or something?"
Link was silent for a moment. "Something like that."
The bartender started laughing. "I don't blame you! I've done a bit of mineral trading back in the day. The Gorons have one of the finest minerals you can get."
Getting the information he needed, Link got up from his seat. "Thanks again for the drinks and directions." He began to walk away towards the exit.
As Link was making his way out of the bar, he bumped shoulders with a drunk man. The drunk man looked pissed out of his mind. "Hey! Watch where you're going, kid!" Link was staring him down, making the drunk man even more angry. "You think you're better than me, tough guy?!" He was about to land a very sloppy punch towards Link.
Just in time, Link grabbed the drunk man's fist with his palm. Tightening his grip, Link managed to twist the man's arm, throwing him over his shoulder. In result, the man landed flat on his back, knocking him out cold.
The men who all witnessed Link taking out a drunk guy were all in shock. They knew not to mess with him at this point. Link stared at the knocked out man for a minute before heading his way towards the exit. He hated people who started fights for no reason.
Wanting to prepare himself before he headed towards Death Mountain, Link had stocked up on some heat resistant elixirs along with a face mask that only covered his nose and mouth to prevent him from inhaling too much ash.
Consuming an elixir and pulling up the face mask, Link was ready to start his first part of the mission.
~
The way towards Goron City was tougher than Link thought. Though he drank an elixir before entering the area, he felt his body trying to shut down on its own due to fatigue. From both the heat and the slope of the mountain.
But he wasn't going to let that get in his way of his mission. He needed to get that sword for his master no matter what. He would obey his master's orders without fail.
Drawing near Goron City, Link knew he had to study the area before sneaking in. This was a stealth mission after all. He had to take out the underlings in the shadows.
Once Link fully scanned the area, he jumped up onto a small ledge, making his way on top of the rocks. Swiftly, he jumped from rock to rock until he was inside Goron territory.
Peeking his head, Link saw that the Gorons were carrying a bunch of minerals. The whole city was basically an entire mine. It was such a shame to see this whole place wiped out in a matter of minutes.
Taking out his bow and arrow, Link saw many explosive barrels in the area. He didn't even need to strike anyone with an arrow, the explosives would easily wipe them out with ease. Though he wondered why there were explosive barrels in the first place. Either way, it made it much easier for him.
Counting how many barrels that were in the area, Link shot the first arrow, followed by several more. All in a second, a huge explosion occurred inside Goron City.
The smoke was covering everything, unable to see if he managed to wipe everyone out with that one blow. Link's eyes averted towards the sound of a big Goron approaching. He knew he was the main priority. The Goron leader.
The smoke was clearing, revealing all of the Gorons wiped out. A lot of them were cracked opened, the explosion took a huge toll on most of them. They weren't dead, only severely injured and clinging onto life.
The Goron leader approached one of the fallen Gorons with worry in his eyes. "What happened here?!" The Goron did not answer or even move.
Link jumped down from the rock, wanting to make his appearance know. He started walking towards the Goron leader, dragging his sword across the stone floor.
The Goron leader looked up, seeing Link walking up to him. Arching an eyebrow, he started scratching his head. "A Hylian? What are you doing all the way out here?"
Not answering in words, Link pointed his sword towards the Goron leader. His eyes showed no mercy, dull as they can be. They showed no signs of life, only a desire to kill. "I'm here to take the Biggoron's Sword. And your head."
The Goron leader's eyes widen, gritting his teeth. "Just who the hell are you?!"
"The name's Link. An assassin working under Master Ganondorf."
