Part Sixty-Eight
16:20, 18 July 2014Niall’s POV
“So, let’s get this party started,” Mel cheered and skipped out the room, before returning with pizzas.
“I’m coming up so you better get this party started!” Sophia sang loudly, Pink, Get This Party Started.
“I’m coming up, I’m coming,” I did the little background bit, joining in with Sophia.
“Making a connection as I enter the room,” Mel continued the song walking back in the room with the pizzas.
“Food!” I hollered; cutting of the singing, and dived towards the pizza tray. I grabbed multiple slices and shoved them all in my mouth.
Deliciousness.
“I’m not sure those are the next lyrics Niall,” Liam laughed and everyone joined in.
“Vateva, I as ung-y,” I said through a mouthful of food- I was trying to sat ‘Whatever, I was hungry’.
Everyone laughed again, but took slices for themselves and began to eat. Other than Sophia. Once I’d finished eating, I looked at Sophia. She hadn’t eaten anything.
I took her hand and led her out the room quietly, and un-noticed. I didn’t think she’d want to be the centre of attention whilst I’m talking to her about this.
“What’s going on?” She asked.
“I could ask you the same question,” I shot back.
“What are you talking about?” She avoided my gaze; knowing exactly what I meant.
“Sophia, I know you haven’t eaten anything,” I said, giving her a look, “You ate only one chip when we had the meal earlier, and you literally had no energy to walk at the foo.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” She lied; her voice barely above a whisper. I hate it when Sophia lies to me; it’s so obvious, because she isn’t the best liar, to be honest.
I just want her to know that she could talk to me about anything, and I wouldn’t judge her. I want her to know that I’d be here for her no matter what. I want her to know that I only want to what’s best for her and to help her. I want her to know that I love her.
Even now, when I tell her almost everyday that I love her, and she says it back, I can tell she doesn’t believe me. She doesn’t think she’s good enough for me. She thinks I deserve better.
But I love her; she is the girl I want to be with.
“Sophia, don’t lie to me, please. I just want to help you,” I whispered, placing my hand lightly on her cheek.
“I know,” She stepped back, away from me, and turned around, so her back was facing me.
“Then talk to me, please,” I begged. There was no way I was leaving until I knew she was going to be okay.
“I’m just worried is all,” She mumbled.
“About what?” I asked, stepping towards her.
“You going away… finding a pretty American girl,” She whispered, “There are so many pretty girls out there, but you picked me… and I’m not pretty, I’m not special… I’m just me… and I have put you through hell; I’m just scared of losing you, because I know, Niall. I know that I don’t deserve you, and one day you’re going to wake up and see me for who I am and regret everything… and then you’ll leave.”
“Sophia,” I whispered, a lump rising in my throat at her speech, “I do see you for who you really are, and that’s why I love you. Yes, there are lots of pretty girls in the world, but none of them are as amazing, beautiful, honest and loving as you. Sophia, you have put me through hell, but you know what? If I could go back… I wouldn’t change a thing. Because, it would mean that we might not be standing here, together, today. Yes, you were ill, but you’re getting better now, and that’s what counts. Yes, we’ve had our moments, but what couple doesn’t? We pulled through them though didn’t we, and that’s what matters the most, we pulled through them together. I don’t know what I’d do without you Sophia. You are gorgeous, you are special, and yes, you are a nuisance, but you’re my nuisance. You mean everything to me Sophia, and I am not going to let you go because I see some pretty American girl.”
I can’t believe she ever thought that I would do that to her. She turned to face me, tears slowly making a path down her face.
“I love you Sophia. Whether I am standing next to you; or I am on the other side of the world, I love you, and nothing will change that.” I smiled and wiped away her tears with my thumb.
“I love you too Niall,” She whispered and I kissed her gently.
“Come on you two lovebirds, it’s DVD time!” Louis popped up next to us, making us both jump in shock.
“We’re coming,” I laughed, taking Sophia’s hand and leading her back in to the lounge.
We sat on the floor and Louis played the DVD. It was Final Destination 5. I wonder why we are watching the last one and not the first. I bet Sophia chose the DVD.
“Here,” I handed her the last slice of pizza.
She just nodded and took it out my hands. I turned my head back, so it looked as though I was watching the film, but I was actually watching Sophia out of the corner of my eye; making sure she was eating the pizza.
“I know you’re watching me Niall,” She giggled. I blushed as she caught me. “It’s fine Niall, I know you’re only doing it because you’re worried about me. But you don’t need to be, I’ll be fine, I promise,” She smiled.
I smiled back and kissed her cheek. “Eat,” I commanded.
“Yes Sir,” She saluted me.
She slowly brought the pizza slice to her mouth; her eyes locked on it the whole way. Then she squeezed her eyes shut and took a small bite of the pizza. Her hands shaking slightly.
She slowly chewed it and then swallowed it. She then opened her eyes and I smiled at her; at least she was trying, she smiled back and took another bite, this time she was a little more confident. After a good ten minutes she finished her pizza slice.
I kissed her and she smiled at me; looking proud of herself, as she should be.
She moved herself so she was sat in between my legs and leant back against my chest. I responded by wrapping my arms around her waist, and resting my head on the top of hers as we settled to actually watch the film.
By the end of the film I realised why Sophia had chosen this film. There was a massive plane explosion. Trust her. She explained that it was a prequel to the first film, so the last film made was actually the first film in the series. Which also explains why there is a ‘The Final Destination’ and then they made a ‘Final destination 5’.
We all settled down to get some rest before Paul called for us in three hours. Liam’s orders. He’s a very boring person sometimes. We argued that we could get some sleep on the plane but Daddy Direction had spoken and he wasn’t backing down.
Sophia slept close to my chest and hugged on to me tightly in her sleep. I could tell she was asleep because of her soft breathing. It as like she didn’t want me to go… which she probably didn’t. I didn’t want to have to leave her either.
Sophia was coming over to see us, like all the other girls were, of course. But she was the last to come down out of the girls. They were each coming twice. Sophia was coming down the second week of the second month, then she was coming again the last week of the tour, and she would be flying back with us.
So I had to wait the longest to see my girlfriend.
I closed my eyes and finally got some sleep. I couldn’t have been asleep more than ten minutes when a loud banging at the door woke me with a start.
“I’m coming, I’m coming,” Molly grumbled and hauled herself out of Liam’s grip and stumbled over to the door, before unlocking it and letting Paul in.
“Everyone up,” Paul announced and all those that weren’t awake woke up at the sound of his loud voice.
“I’m just going to nip to the bathroom,” Zayn announced.
“Probably a good idea boys,” Paul said and we nodded before heading upstairs and into our girlfriends bedroom to use their bathroom.
Whilst I was in there I nipped toilet, cleaned my teeth and sorted out my messy clothes; trying to look a little decent, because no doubt someone would get pictures of us.
When I deemed myself presentable I left the bathroom again and headed downstairs. Paul was now holding a holdall, and our things from the corner had gone- so I presume they were in the holdall.
“Everyone ready?” He asked as Zayn finally walked in the room.
“Let’s go,” Lauren cheered and the lads and I looked at the girls quizzically.
“What?” Lauren frowned.
“You didn’t think we’d let you go without a goodbye, did you?” Mel laughed.
“Of course we’re coming to the airport with you!” Beth grinned.
“Leggo guys,” Sophia shouted and we all walked out of the house, now wide awake and ready for the long journey ahead of us.
The ride down to the airport was full of singing, banter and a whole lot of laughter. Mainly mine, what can I say, I live to laugh. And yes, I meant live, not love.
When we got to the airport, we all climbed out the car, grabbing our luggage and putting them on the trolley’s the girls had fetched for us.
We pushed the trolleys into the airport, people taking pictures of us in every direction. There were three trolleys between the five of us, so I didn’t have to push one. Paul had one, Louis had one (which Liam decided he’d catch a ride on) and Harry had the final one. We’d swap in a bit.
We got easily and quickly (too quickly for my liking) to the terminal, where we had to leave the girls. I turned to face Sophia, who had tears brimming in her eyes. “Don’t cry, it won’t be long,” I smiled and kissed her.
“I love you,” She whispered, as we rested our foreheads against each others.
“I love you too Sophia,” I smiled.
“Come on boys, we have to go,” Paul announced, and I kissed Sophia once more before pulling away.
“Oh Paul, we’re going to miss you,” Sophia shouted and all the girls hugged Paul, who hugged them back, laughing.
They pulled away from Paul and walked back over to their boyfriends, so Sophia came back over to me. She kissed me once more, wrapping her arms around me in a tight hug. Around me I could see each couple bidding their teary farewells.
“Now, don’t go off with any American girls,” Lauren smiled at Harry.
“Wouldn’t dream of it,” And he kissed before he had to pull away and we had to go.
“I’ll see you real soon,” Zayn kissed Mel and she adjusted his hat, so it was tilted a little.
“That’s better,” She grinned.
“I love you,” Beth smiled at Louis.
“Love you too Beth,” Louis kissed her.
“Enjoy it Liam,” Molly smiled.
“Yes ma’am,” Liam saluted and kissed her.
“Now get out of here,” Molly grinned and pushed him over to the rest of us.
The girls formed a group and waved at us. We waved back quickly before I took one of the trolleys, Louis took one and Harry took the third. Liam jumped back on the trolley Louis was pushing, hitching a ride, the lazy bugger. Zayn held Lux’s hands (Lux was out stylists baby; who was coming with us on tour) and helped her walk with us.
Once we’d sent our luggage off on the conveyer belt thing. We all turned back to face the girls. But they were gone. We looked around for them for a minute, wanting to say another goodbye. But it was too late. They’d left.
“It’s time to go,” Paul announced. We nodded silently and followed him through the airport. We took our seats on the plane when we were called. The airplane began to move once everyone was aboard.
We began to rise into the air and I looked out the window. The city below us began to get smaller and smaller as we flew higher into the air and further away from it. From our girlfriends. From our families. From our homes.
Goodbye England.
Sophia’s POV
Once the boys had left us to get their luggage weighed on the conveyer belt thing, the girls and I all left quickly. We didn’t want another emotional goodbye from the boys, the little goodbye was enough. We were all tired and upset; we just wanted to go home. So we did. Well, first we had to fight our way through the fans and photographers.
“Sophia! Sophia!” A girl about fifteen shouted. I turned to face her; she was obviously a fan or Directioner, as she was wearing a One Direction tee shirt. I didn’t want to be mean and ignore one of Niall’s fans; even though I really wanted to ignore them all and go home.
“Yes?” I smiled politely at her.
“Why are you and Niall together?” She asked me.
“What do you mean? We love each other,” I said; I thought someone her age would understand that…
“Is that what they told you to say?” The girl asked, suddenly every camera and microphone was shoved into her face.
“Who?” I frowned, so confused.
“The boy’s managers,” She said simply.
“I have no idea what you are talking about,” I said honestly.
“Don’t act dumb. I know that you, Mel, Molly, Lauren and Beth all signed a contract with the boy’s to be their girlfriends. I just can’t wait for that contract to end and the boy’s will be free of you money-grabbing, fame-leech, b*tches,” She said loudly into all the microphones, now addressing all the girls not me.
“Is what she said true?”
“How do you know this?”
“Do you have any evidence?”
“What do you have to say about this?”
Various questions were thrown at the random girl and us.
“I have something to say,” Lauren said loudly.
All the microphones were shoved towards Lauren, as she stood strongly in front of them.
“We love our boyfriends, and they love us. We have not signed any contracts or anything of the sort; our relationships are not arranged in any way. We are not after fame, because with the fame we have ended up having lots of hate, I even had to delete my Twitter account at one point, and somehow people got my E-Mail address and phone number, so I had to get rid of my phone and E-Mail. The hate is the worst thing about this, and the boy’s try their best to stop it, but it doesn’t stop, ever. If you were really fans you’d be happy that the boy’s have found people they are happy with, if you hate on us, it won’t make the boys like you anymore, only dislike you. Their money means nothing to us; we always insist on buying our own things, in fact we have our own jobs. Molly works in a café, Sophia is a model, Beth is a photographer, Mel works as a waitress in the evenings, and I volunteer in a dog shelter as often as I can and I work in graphic designing. You see, we have our own lives, and they have theirs, but we love each other so don’t tell me that we are only doing this to promote them because the amount of hate we get for this wouldn’t be worth it if we didn’t actually love them.”
After Lauren finished her speech we all pushed our way through the crowd and ran out of the airport and jumped in the car. “Can we wait please,” I asked quietly as I looked out the window.
“Sure,” Beth answered form the drivers seat; knowing exactly why I wanted to wait.
We sat for about another half an hour until we saw the plane we assumed the boys were on. We judged it by the make of the plane (we knew who they were flying with) and the time it took off.
As it took off into the air I placed my hand on the window. “I love you Niall, have a great time on tour, I’ll see you soon,” I whispered under my breath as the girls whispered their own goodbyes to the boy’s.
This whole thing reminds me of the JLS song, Other Side Of The World.
I know you're leaving you've got plans to make
Don't catch me crying as you walk away
I'm right here
You're out there
Til you're back again
I'll be holding on
I got everything I want but tell me what's the use?
When the one thing that I need has no substitute
So I'd run a thousand miles just to be with you
The song played in my mind as I thought about everything.
So much has changed in the last year; but definitely for the better.
I wonder where I’ll be a few years from now…
Will I still be with Niall?
Will I still live in England or back in Ireland?
Will I be married?
Have children?
Will I be happy?
Will I even be alive?
Will the girl’s still be with their boyfriend’s?
Will the boy’s still be singing?
Will the boy’s still be in a band?
Who knows what the future holds for all of us.
