We were waiting at the same bridge we always do, in silence may I add, before Sakura just has to butt in with her annoying voice.

"Ughh! Why why why! He sets the time and we have to wait hours for him!" Sakura yells.

I sigh, not this again.

"It's not fair!" Naruto yells in agreement.

"What about my feelings huh?! I rushed here so fast I didn't have time to dry my hair!" Sakura screams.

"And I didn't even have time to brush my teeth or change my underwear!" Naruto yells with his fist in the air. Eww...

"You.. didn't? That's really disgusting Naruto." Sakura tells him.

Meanwhile Sasuke and I just stand there, silently thinking of ways to kill them. You can't plan a murder out loud, right?

Finally, Kakashi poofs in front of us. "Hey! Good morning everyone." Kakashi says nonchalantly. "Sorry I'm a little late, I'm afraid I got lost on the path of life."

"YOU LIAR!" Naruto and Sakura scream at the same time. They synchronize a lot, don't they?

"I know this is a bit sudden, but I recommended all 4 of you for the Chunin Exams." Kakashi tells us. "These are the application forms." He hands us each a slip of paper.

"Application forms?" Sakura repeats.

"You're repeating me Sakura. This is all voluntary, it's up to each of you. If you don't feel ready, you can wait till next year." Kakashi informs us.

"Alright!" Naruto yells passionately. He jumps on Kakashi and gives him a hug.

"Get off of me!" Kakashi says, putting Naruto back on the ground.

"Whoever wants to take the exams, sign the application form and come to room 301 at the academy. It's at 3 PM, 5 days from now. That's it." Kakashi tells us.

"Hehehe, Chunin Exams! Chunin Exams!" Naruto laughs happily.

We all start walking back together, and Naruto suddenly starts to talk.

"Huh, Chunin Exams? I'll be up against a lot of really wicked ninja!" Naruto tells us.

I hush my voice so no one can hear me, "And I'll be able to see if I'm strong enough to kill a certain someone...."

I see Naruto turn his head towards Sasuke, looking at him like he was excited to fight him.

He giggles.

I look over to see Sasuke wearing a victorious smirk, also looking excited to fight someone.

I feel Sakura stop, and so I stop too. But Naruto and Sasuke keep going. She looks a little down, like she knows she isn't strong.

"Sakura. Believe in yourself, I know you will become a wonderful kunoichi! Your sharp mind set and amazing chakra control, not to mention your determination, will come in handy during the exams. Don't think so little of yourself!" I tell her cheerily.

She looks back up at me with a smile on her face, and catch up with Sasuke and Naruto.

I feel a bunch of heartbeats enter the village, all of them foreign. Some are ninja, and some are villagers who came to watch. But I feel a familiar heartbeat... one who I wouldn't ever forget.

(Timeskip woohoo)

I woke up, nightmares suddenly coming at every twist and turn of my sleep. It was about 9 AM, the sun shining through my window.

"Can the sun, like, turn itself off?" I ask nobody in particular.

I hear Minoru chuckle in my head.

I take my usual morning shower, brush my teeth and hair, then stroll down to the kitchen. I grab an apple, and pop it in my mouth. I bite down on it to hold it in my mouth as I put my socks on, and walk out of the door. I stroll around the village, buying a few things here and there. I walk to some training ground and sit down as I take out the to-go bowl of ramen I bought.

I hear a heart beat approaching me quickly, and I look up to see someone I've never seen before. I activate my kekkai genkai, immediately making him freeze on the spot. I cover up my ramen again, making sure no flies get near it, before strolling over to the ninja. I cut their leg slightly with a kunai, "You better tell me who you really are, cause I know I've met you before. If you don't... Well let's just say your heart will magically stop beating." I tell them menacingly. They sigh, and poof back into Iruka.

"Hah! I knew I recognized you from somewhere, so, did Gramps put you up to this?" I ask Iruka as I go back to start eating my ramen.

"Uh, yeah." Iruka says.

"I can tell you're worried, don't worry, Naruto will be safe. I'll make sure of that, even if it costs me my life. Plus, it helps that he is the next Hokage." I say jokingly.

He chuckles, before waving goodbye, leaving me to finish my ramen in the peace and quiet of the training grounds. I close my eyes for about 30 minutes, savoring the sounds of the birds and tree leaves rustling.

I shoot open my eyes, sensing 3 heart beats approaching me, foreign heart beats. I get in a defensive stance, taking out a kunai.

I see three ninja, one with two buns and a pink shirt. I see another in a green body suit, and another with pale eyes.

So this is Guy's team. Lee, Neji.. and .... Tenten! Now I remember.

I sit back down, well try before a barrage of kunai is thrown at me. I dodge each on gracefully, and turn back towards the team who threw them at me.

"Hello Lee, Neji, Tenten." I say.

"How do you-" Neji starts, but is cut off when Lee starts to blabber.

"My lady! You are beautiful! Will you be my girlfriend, I vow to protect you with my life!" Lee asks me.

I chuckle at his enthusiasm. "Sorry Lee, but I already like someone. But, it's really cute how excited you get." I tell him, and I swiftly pull down my mask to give him a kiss on the cheek. I quickly pull my mask back up making sure no one saw my face. I pull back, and see Lee falling on the floor with hearts in his eyes.

I laugh at his expression, but Neji decides to butt in. "Who are you and how do you know us?" He asks .

"I'm Kaji. I know your sensei." I tell him, getting the point across that I am not an enemy.

He relaxes slightly, and I go to gather my things. I pick up my now empty bowl and all of my bags.

"Well, it was fun chatting with you guys. Peace." I say, tossing a three fingered wave over my back, and then teleporting back to my house to drop off my belongings.

I hope I get to fight that Neji kid, he looks strong.

He'll be a good measure of strength.

(TIme skip! This is when they are at the academy for the exams!)

Naruto, Sasuke and I were all waiting in front of the academy for Sakura. I hear her heart beat, and she walks up to us.

"Hey! Sakura! You're late." Naruto tells her.

"Uhh right. Sorry guys. Good morning Sasuke." She tells him, not sounding at all fan girl-ish.

I look at her in question, usually she'd be glomping him. I can see Sasuke narrow his eyes at her. "Yeah." He tells her.

We walk into the academy, pushing our way through a crowd. I see Lee get punched to the ground by two chunin who are in disguise. Wait, why wouldn't Lee fight back? Lee is as strong as Sasuke!

"Hah! You're taking the chunin exams but you can't even get past us?" One of the fakers says.

I activate my kekkai genkai, making them fall to the floor. "Look here, go back to doing whatever you were doing as chunin. Oh, and if you could, reverse the genjutsu. We want to go to room 301." I say, towering over the two chunin.

"Well well, you noticed the genjutsu huh?" They ask.

"Not just me. My whole team did." I tell them.

"Go ahead Sakura, tell them. We all know you have the sharpest mind and best analytical skills on this squad. You saw it a mile away." Sasuke tells her.

"Uh... Well sure. Of course I did, we're only on the second floor." She tells them smartly.

"Right!" Naruto nods his head in agreement.

The sign that said 301 morphed back into 201. All the people surrounding us gasped.

"Huh, well aren't you the smart ones?" One of the disguised chunin said. "So you noticed an illusion. Lets see you try to dodge this!" He yells suddenly about to kick Sasuke, but Lee stops both of their legs from colliding. His lighting speed obviously impressed everyone, and he lets go of both of their legs. The two chunin retreat behind one of the doors without anyone noticing.

"Hey. What happened to the plan?" Neji asked. "I thought you were the one who said to keep a low profile, and not let anyone see our skill level."

"I know but-" Lee is cut off by Tenten.

"Never mind, it's over. Forget it."

Lee looks at me and winks, and I chuckle before nodding my head to Sakura. He gets the hint and looks at her, a blush spreading over his face.

He walks over to Sakura and stands directly in front of her. I know where this is going.

"Guys, I'll go on ahead. Later Neji, Tenten, Lee. Good luck!" I tell them.

I walk ahead, going up the remaining flight of stairs before coming to a door with Kakashi standing in front of it.

"Are you the only one who came?" Kakashi asks surprised.

I chuckle at his bewildered expression, "Nope. Sasuke, Sakura, and Naruto are all downstairs. I just came up here because I want to look at my competition." I tell him.

"All right. You can go in. Know this Kaji, I'm proud to have you on my team!" He tells me, ruffling my hair. "Good luck!"

I open the door and all eyes turn to me. I strike a pose like a model would on a fashion walk and some of the glare while other try to hold in their chuckles. I freely chuckle at all of their 'intimidating' expressions.

"Ohh soooo scary. Spooky." I say sarcastically, moving my hands in front of my face mocking scaredness. (A/N is that even a word?)

The just glare harder at me, "Glaring me won't kill me guys, man, some genin are just so stupid." I say aloud, making sure everyone heard me.

They all looked away, and I take this chance to observe my prey. I catch eyes with Gaara and his team and send them a wink. I continue my analysis before I hear a heart beat approaching me. They put a hand on my shoulder and I immediately twist their hand around, making them yell out in pain. I take this chance to get behind them, holding their twisted arm against their back, and a kunai at their throat.

I don't like this guy, he seems way more evil than anyone here. I hear the door open.

This guy has gray hair, and it's up in a pony tail. Black eyes, that are brimming with evil, and glasses. He wears a weird purple get-up.

"Kaji!" I hear Sakura and Naruto yell.

I raise my head up, and for some reason glare at my teammates. "What?" I ask them harshly.

Naruto pulls me off of the evil guy, asking me if I was ok. I ignore him and keep my glare on the evil person.

"Sasuke! Where have you been!" I hear an annoying voice squeal. I rip out of Naruto's grasp and massage my temples. I walk past the evil guy and whisper, so only he can hear, "If you mess with my team, I'll kill you. I know you are evil, so stay the fuck away."

I walk over to an empty bench, and massage my head. I feel a burning headache coming on. I don't know why but that guy's presence just irks me. I try to will my headache to go away, but just as it was almost gone, a huge puff of smoke fills the room and an annoying deep voice shouts, "It's time to begin. I am Ibiki Morino," Ibiki says, and I groan really loud.

"And from this moment, your worst nightmare." Everyone gasps at that but I just snort.

"First, you candidates from the village Hidden in the Sound! Knock it off, who told you that you could fight?" Ibiki shouts at some weird kids who were beating up that evil guy.

"Sorry." Dosu says slyly, "It's our first time. Guess we were a little jumpy... sir."

Ibiki smirks, and then looks back at the rest of us with a stern look on his face, probably making most of the genin shit their pants, "I'll say this once so listen up! There will be no combat between candidates," I groan even louder. "No attacking each other without the permission of your proctor, and even then the use of fatal force is strictly prohibited!" He shouts at us.

He lowers his head and gives us all a menacing glare, "Anyone who even thinks of messing with me will be disqualified immediately. Got it?" Ibiki questions us venomously.

"Dude, hate to interrupt your 'cool' speech and all, but I really wanna get on with this test. And your annoying voice isn't exactly helping the problem." I yell over to him. Everyone in the room gasps, but Ibiki just smirks at me.

"You've made it to the Chunin Exams, eh Kaji?" Ibiki questions with a smirk.

"Darn tootin I did. Now shut up." I tell him, plonking my head back on the table.

"Now if you are ready, we will proceed to the first stage of the Chunin Exams. Hand over your paper work. In return, you'll each be given a number. This number determines where you will sit. We'll start the written test once you are all seated." Ibiki explains.

I hear Naruto panicking about there being a written test.

We all take our seats, with a chunin at the end of each of our rows, to make sure we don't cheat. Due to my extensive knowledge about, well most things in life, I already know what to do.

I have number 59, my lucky number, and I have been sat next to this weird grass nin, with a freakishly long tongue. But I don't like her, she's evil. Even more evil than that guy with the gray hair! Kind of reminds me of someone... but I just can't remember who. I take a good look around the room to find all of my teammates, seeing Naruto near the front with that shy girl... what was her name again? Sasuke was next to some random ninja, and so was Sakura.

"Everyone eyes front!" Ibiki yells, startling me.

"Are you fucking kidding me just when my headache was about to go away." I mumble quietly.

"There are a few rules you need to be aware of. And I won't answer any questions, so you better pay attention the first time around. Alright rule number one is this: the written part of the exam is conducted on a point reduction system. Contrary to what some of you may be used to, you all begin the test with a perfect score of ten points. One point will be deducted for each answer you get wrong. So if you miss three, your final score would be seven. Rule number two: teams will pass or fail based on the score of each of their members." Everyone gasps at this, and I have to admit I'm a little worried to. For Naruto, I mean I really want to pass.

"WHAT? Wait a second! You're saying that we all get scored as a team?!" Sakura yells.

"SILENCE!" Ibiki yells. "I have my reasons. So shut up and listen. Rule number three: the sentinals you see positioned around the room are there to watch you carefully for any signs of cheating. And for every incident they spot, they will subtract two points from the culprits score. Be warned, their eyes are extremely sharp-"

"Yes, they are so sharp. Especially when they're taking naps at the front gate." I whisper to myself.

"And if they catch you five times you'll be dismissed before the tests are even scored. Anyone fool enough to be caught cheating by the sentinels doesn't even deserve to be here."

"I've got my eyes on you guys." One of the chunin say to my row, I think his name was Kotetsu. Convenient, I'm the one closest to him.

"Oh my gosh you're making it worse. Your job it to watch not to talk, so shut up." I tell him grumpily.

"If you want to be considered shinobi, then show us what exceptional shinobi you can be." Ibiki says to us.

"One more thing, if any candidate should get a zero and fail the test, then the entire team fails." Ibiki tells us, making my team gasp and me softly sigh.

"The final question won't be given out until 15 minutes before the end of the testing period. You'll have one hour total." He informs us.

"Finally. One hour of nap time, here I come." I say to myself, making the people around me snicker.

Ibiki waits for the clock to hit the 12.

"Begin!"
