Chapter 26 Mae's pov
16:14, 19 January 2022We all head out to the field as we joke around with each other. We finally get there and all spread out, each starting our own warm up routines. I was doing jumping jacks when I caught something out of the corner of my eye. I walked over to the burnt pattern on the group to get a closer look at it while the others were still doing warm ups.
I hear a loud noise and take a step back, looking up to try to find the source. A bright light appears in front of me, making me throw my hands up to shield my face. Arms reach out of the light and grab me, dragging me into it.
I open my eyes a moment later to see a golden dome around me.
"Hello Lady Mae, welcome to Asgard." A deep voice says, making me look to see a man with golden eyes, and a huge sword. I stare at him before I realize what he said and close my eyes.
'Oh fuck' was my only thought as I'm dragged by 2 warriors, the Einherjar.
We finally get to what I assume is the throne room. I'm forced to my knees harshly, them cracking against the floor, making the sound echo in the large room. My head is forced down as my red hair falls forward. I hear a couple of gasps from people as my limiters glow brighter for a moment because of the pain.
I grit my teeth and remain as calm as I can, given I had been kidnapped, brought in front of the king and queen of a realm, and am now in an execution position.
"Leave." A single command from a booming voice, much like his son's, makes people start to shuffle. The last 2 to leave are the ones holding me. They pull away, while I remain in the position they forced me into. Once they seem satisfied I won't move, they leave and slam the giant doors behind them.
"Rise." The voice booms again and I have to stop myself from laughing at the likeness. I do as I'm told, touching both knees to heal where they had been busted, and cleaning the floor of blood with a flash of purple.
"Allfather, Allmother." I greet as I look up to face the 2 people, a wicked smile on my lips.
Third person pov
The group stood still, not understanding what had just happened in front of their eyes. It was Thor who got his focus back first, surprisingly.
"No!" The god shouted as he ran to the mark. This seemed to snap the others back as confused noises filled the air.
"Heimdall! Open the Bifrost!" Thor shouted above his friends as he raised his hammer over his head, his booming voice traveling in the open area.
"My apologies, your highness, I cannot. Your father wishes to speak to Lady Mae alone." A deep voice says, filling the air, causing the avengers to stop talking. Thor stares up for another moment before lowering his hammer. He looks to his brother with tears in his eyes.
Loki has fallen to his knees, eyes wide with unleashed tears of his own. Cerberus and Bucky are looking frantically between the 2 gods, while the team stares at Loki. They had never seen him express such emotions before.
All at once the hellhound and super soldier fall to their knees as well. They all put a hand on the left side of their chest, on Mae's sigil, and groan in pain. They could feel she had been hurt. Thor threw his hammer in anger, knowing they had all taken her oath.
The team finally figured it out and gasped as all 3 men stood, and proceeded to destroy everything around them in panic and rage. Soon, they all stopped and just stared off into the distance. The group rushes to the hellhound, super soldier and god and moves them, trying to herd them into the tower.
The team finally get them inside after trying for about 10 minutes. They all sat around the living room. All they could do was hope she would return soon, and in good condition.
Mae's pov
Frigga rushes over to me immediately, pulling me into a tight hug. I returned it quickly.
"I'm so sorry about all of this. Forgive him, he's stupidly stubborn most of the time. Oh and please call me Frigga dear." She whispers to me. I nod my head as I smile softly. I can see why Loki took her name. She kisses my check before returning to stand by her husband who is looking at her in anger.
She returns the look with a glare of her own, making Odin look surprised. He looks back to me and the angry look returns.
"Mae? Or Lucifer? Luci?ย Which do you like? Or is experiment 0666 best?" He asks with a hard glare.
"Whichever you like, I do suppose. Though since you are deciding which you will use, so will I, Odin." I counter with a grin. Frigga laughs quietly while Odin's face turns red.
"You disrespective quim. I should take your head off for that alone. However, there are things we need to discuss." Odin says, rubbing his chin.
"The first of which is, you are to stop associating with my youngest son. He is on Earth to make up for his past discretions, not get involved with someone like you. The second, that I will allow you to instead get close to Thor. He will need a queen with your kind of wits when he takes the throne of Asgard and is a much better suiter for you. Lastly, you will come back to Asgard periodically to give us reports and updates on all events involving my sons." He says as he leans forward in his throne.
I look between the 2, Frigga looking at her husband, appalled, while Odin stares holes into my head.
"I have already informed Heimdall to allow you to use the Bifrost when you need." He adds, still not catching his wife's murderous glare. I see where Loki got that from as well. I decided I like Frigga very much. As I continue to look between them I burst out laughing. I cackle for a good minute before regaining my composure.
Odin is looking at me confused while Frigga is still glaring daggers at his head. I take a couple deep breaths to calm my breathing back to normal.
"Oh, you're serious? I see." I stand straight, waving a hand as I flash on a red and black ball gown and crown.
With a serious face and tone, I take a few steps closer to him. My eyes shift to their electric purple color as I start to speak, watching him sit back in his throne.
"Listen to me well Odin, Allfather, king of Asgard, and one of the worst fathers I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. I will not be told what to do by the likes of you or anyone. You have absolutely no control over me or my actions. Do you see these?" I ask, holding up my wrists.
"They eat power. I wear 4 as I stand before you, yet I can control my powers just fine, as you have seen. I am stronger than the likes of anything you have ever seen, even your precious Hela. You don't want to start this war, you will not win and your world will crumble." He looked shocked at that name, Frigga did as well.
"Oh yes, I know of your secrets, the multitude of which is staggering. I also know of all the abuse, neglect, and misfortune your wife's son has fallen to at your hands. Quite literally." I say before smirking, the words from a dream long ago floating through my mind that now makes perfect sense.
"Now is not the time for golden retribution, wait until the stars align with perfect judgment passed, to feel the burden of the wrongs fall on corresponding shoulders."
The words drip of my tongue in an otherworldly tone. Frigga gasped, recognizing it as a prophecy.
I nod and curtsy with a "Odin, Frigga." And rise to leave. I feel a sudden pain in my shoulder just as I go to teleport to the Bifrost. I look down to see a dagger buried in my shoulder.
"Ah, I see Loki did get at least one quality from you. His love of knives." I say staring my now bright red eyes into Odin's one. He gasps in shock. I teleport out just as I see Frigga slap Odin across the face.
I make it there and turn to Heimdall.
"Open the Bifrost to the Avengers tower please." I say as I curtsy to him. He smiles with a knowing glint in his eyes and moves his sword to open it.
"Tell my darlings I miss them. I do believe we will be seeing each other again soon. Take care, Lady Mae." Frigga voice floats softly into my mind just as I step into the Bifrost.
