Chapter 57

06:57, 25 June 2014

LEILANI-

We sat in complete silence as I waited for Aubrey to answer my question, with every second passing I grew more and more pissed.

"Jade was there."

"Oh? And what did she want?"

"Nothing," he shrugged "I told her we were still together and she got mad at me. But other than that, there were a lot of females, but nothing happened."

"So girls grinding on you and kissing your cheek is nothing? I saw the pictures on TMZ, next time you should probably tell your ho's to not take pictures."

"I'm sorry Leilani..." he said lowly

"Aubrey, do you want to be single?"

"Of course not," he sighed as he wiped away my tears

"Prove it then! I love you with everything in me, but if you're unhappy in this relationship, let me know."

"It's not like that baby, shit has just been so hectic, I got caught up."

"I'm the last thing on your mind," I got up and laid down on my bed

"What do you want me to do?" He knelt down in front of me

"Fix it."

DRAKE-

I took one more big drink out of my foam cup before smoothing out the creases in my tuxedo. With my new found wealth, I was able to finally get out of my mothers basement and rent my own condo on the east side of the city. I planned out a nice dinner for Leilani and I, one of the many things I loved about her was the fact the simple things made her happy. I didn't have to rent out the CN tower or take her on a helicopter ride trough the city for this date to be perfect.

She wanted me to fix it and that's what I'm going to do. I busted my ass trying to prepare the perfect meal for her, I'm no where near a terrible cook but I rather have someone else do it for me.

The doorbell rang, catching me off guard. I downed the rest of my codeine mixture before answering the door.

"Hey Aubrey," Leilani flashed her beautiful, genuine smile

"Damn, you look amazing," I looked at her from head to toe

She could be a model. The emerald dress, emphasized her intensely, deep green eyes, she even went as far to straighten her unruly curly hair. I didn't even realize how long it was, nearly reaching the small of her back.

"Are you just going to stare at me or let me in?" she chuckled

"Uh yea, my bad baby," I quickly pecked her lips and moved to the side

"I like your place Aubrey, this is nice," she examined the living room, picking up one of the pictures I had framed of us on the coffee table

"It could be our place," I mumbled to myself

"What was that?" she turned around, flashing her smile once again

"Oh nothing, are you hungry?"

"Mhm, what did you get to eat?" I pulled her chair out and she sat down

"I made us Rotisserie chicken, mashed potatoes, and green beans," I poured us two glasses of champagne

Something else to help calm my nerves.

"You made all of this?" she took a bite of the mashed potatoes

"Yea, I can throw down in the kitchen,"

"I can tell, all of this is amazing," she grabbed my hand

"I'm glad you like it baby," I threw my drink back as she looked away

After sneaking 2 more glasses of champagne, I became more laid back as we finished up our dinner. It feels like old times again, making her laugh, reminiscing, cause that's all I do these days. It's safe to say our relationship has been rekindled.

"I got one more thing for you," I pulled the velvet box out of my pocket and sat it down on the table infront of her

"What's this?" she opened it up

She gently lifted the 5K, diamond, pearl, and emerald incrested ring, what I like to call, 'the deal breaker'.

"When you told me to fix it, I racked my brain with ideas, realizing I had already come up with one," I slid it on her left ring finger

"I know you're not about the material things, but I got this for you when I got my first check."

"It's beautiful," she sniffled

"I want this ring to signify not only the love I have for you but the promises I've made to you, I want it to signify that you'll always be the first thing I think about when I wake up, that there's no one else I rather be with, and even when I'm not physically here, you won't have to worry about me getting into trouble or doing something that'll end up hurting you. All this fighting between us needs to stop, I want us to grow together instead of hurting each other."

"I love you Aubrey," she wrapped her arms around my neck

"I love you too baby," I pecked her lips

"Can you promise me one more thing?"

"Anything," I picked her up and made my way to the bedroom

"Promise me you'll never change."

"I promise."
