Chapter 50

LEILANI-

"Dad, I'm home."

After pouring my heart out to Gina I decided to attempt to get along with my new family.

"Where have you been? I was worried sick about you!"

"I was at Gina's, can we talk please?"

"Of course, have a seat."

"I'm sorry, for what I said the other day, I really am. But this all hit me so hard, put yourself in my shoes. After you and mom got the divorce, I never imagined neither one of you would move on, I wanted you guys to work your problems out. And seeing that you have a daughter with someone other than mom, it hurts because we'll never be a family again."

"I had no idea you felt like that." He rubbed my back as I silently cried "I'm sorry that I couldn't keep our family complete, the responsibly did not just fall on your mom it fell on me as well and neither one of us were able to pull through, but I found someone who loved me completly and couldn't let her go, although Ive moved on I'll always love your mother."

"Mommy, I don't want to go!" Angel whined as they walked down the stairs

"Brian, tell her she needs to go to school, we're going to be late!"

"Leilani please don't let them get me!" She jumped onto the couch and hid behind me

"What if I took you?" I tickled her stomach

"I'm scared." She tried to hide her giggles

"Don't be, I'll take you inside too."

"Ok!" she smiled and ran off to go get her backpack

"Thank you Leilani." Jasmine smiled

"No problem." I smiled back weakly

See looked like she wanted to say something else but an excited Angel came running up to me.

"Ready?" I chuckled

We got to Forrest Hill elementary school 15 minutes later.

"Lets do this." I smiled

I helped her out of the car and she grabbed my hand as we walked into the building.

We came upon her classroom as the teacher greeted the students as they came in,

"And you must be Angel?" she smiled

"Yup, that's me!"

"It's very nice to meet you, I'm Miss Rose, are you her mother?" She looked up at me

"Oh no, she's my sister." I chuckled

"Well you two look exactly alike." She laughed "And your name?"

"Leilani." I shook her hand

"Nice to meet you as well, I have some paperwork I'm going to need you or one of your parents to fill out." She handed me the red folder "Do you have any questions for me?"

"I don't." I chuckled

"Ok, well I'm sure I'll be seeing you around plenty." she smiled before walking into the classroom

"Yo, Leilani is that you?"

I turned around to see Isaiah in a tribal print tank top and a pair of kaki shorts, his arms looked fucking amazing, if I do say so myself.

"Hey, what are you doing here?"

"I had to uh drop off my brother, what about you?"

"I just brought my sister in."

"That's what's up, how you been?" he asked as we walked out of the school

"Good, you?"

"I can't complain." he shrugged "I like them kicks you got on though." He smirked

"I like them too, some ugly boy got them for me."

"Damn, it's like that though? You look cute in them though, actually you just look really cute."

"You're kidding right? I look horrible right now." I laughed

"I'm playin' girl, you look rougher than ever, and that hair." He chuckled

"Shut up!" I slapped his arm

"It's the truth." He shrugged "But you got any plans for today?"

"Nope, you?"

"Not shit, lets go get lunch, your treat."

"Fine with me, you wanna take my car or yours?"

"Lets take your whip, that Lexus is the shit."

I pulled up to the nearest bistro, and made our way inside and got seated.

"So why you ain't hit me up since your party?"

"I've been busy, I got back from Houston a couple of days ago."

"Coo, what's happening down there? Why'd you go?"

"Oh just a mini vacation." I lied

His phone lit up on the table, displaying a picture of him and his brother.

"Your brother is so cute." I cooed as I grabbed his phone and looked at the picture

"Yea 'bout that, I kinda lied, he's not my brother."

"What is he? Your nephew, cousin?"

"He's my son."

"Your son? Why didn't you just say that?" I took a sip of my sprite

"Most girls hit the road whenever I say that." he laughed

"Well I'm not like that, I'm the last to judge someone."

"Well that's good to know." He sighed in relief

"Just don't lie to me again, or I'll be obligated to kick your ass."

"You about that life shawty?" He laughed

Lunch went by great, I'm glad he's opening up to me, and I'm able to do the same. He's something special and I want to get to know him more.

"So, you doin' anything Saturday?" He asked as we pulled into the school carpool lane

"I have a date, with my bed." I chuckled

"How about you have a date with me?" He smirked

"Depends, where would we be going?"

"To Lil Wayne's concert, you down? I got really good seats."

"Yea, sure. I'll go."

DRAKE-

I was reciting the lyrics to myself as I paced back and forth in my dressing room. I've never performed for so many people in my life,

"Drizzy! 2 minutes." The stage manager yelled "Get your ass out here!"

I looked over myself one last time before making my way to the entrance of the stage.

The beat for best I ever had started playing, here goes nothing. I ran out on stage and the crowd went wild, my city really showed up for me.

I grabbed the mic and started getting up and personal with my audience, one thing I told myself to always do.

I looked deeper into the crowd finding the girl I wrote this song about,

"Lei, is that you?" The words echoed throughout the stadium

She hid behind some guy as the spotlight found it's way to her.

I shook her presence out of my mind but seeing her with some other guy, didn't let my mind empty the thoughts.

'You don't even trip when friends say you ain't bringing Drake along'

I continued on, not missing another beat, replaying the steps I practiced in the rehearsal my right foot got caught in between one of the hundreds of wires on the stage.

I tried to play it off without looking like a complete idiot, until my whole body came crashing down.

An agonizing pain ran through my leg as everything else around me became blurry and silent.
