Chapter 3 : First Day

Mirae's POV

Shit! It's him!

I mentally cursed myself for bumping into him again. I hung my head low and tried to sneak away from him.

Why does it have to be him out of all the people?

"Wait!" he said.

I paused in my steps and turned back to face him. "Y-Yes?"

"Haven't we met before?" He slowly came and stood in front of me, bending a bit to come to my eye level. "I think I've seen you before."

I laughed awkwardly. "I-I think you got the wrong person."

"I don't think so. You're..." He narrowed his eyes.

God, please save me...

"Choi San-ssi!" We heard someone say and he turned back to that voice. "We're late. Come quickly!"

He just gave me a glare before walking away. I breathed out heavily when he was out of my sight.

"I thought he was going to kill me right then." I sighed again. "But wait a minute! Did that person just call him Choi San?" I gasped, realising that the person did call him by that name.

"And the one for whom I would be the personal bodyguard is... him?!" I ruffled my hair, messing it up.

"Why does it have to be him?" I sighed for the nth time. I was lying on my bed, blankly staring at the ceiling. "I'm doomed..."

I picked up my phone which was lying beside me and searched his name. I wanted to know about him as I was going to work with him from now on. Early preparation is a good thing.

I was going through his profile when I learnt that he's the same age as me. He's an actor and soloist under KQ Entertainment.

He's also famous for being a great dancer and has acted in many dramas. His fanbase is also huge in South Korea.

"He's pretty famous."

Just then I recieved a text from KQ Entertainment. It said that I had to reach the company tomorrow by 7:00 am. I put the phone aside and closed my eyes to sleep.

I just hope everything goes well tomorrow.

I woke up to the sound of my alarm. I looked at the time, it was 6:02 am.

I have enough time to get ready.

I got up from my bed and walked towards the bathroom with a towel. I took a good twenty minute bath and got ready. I did my breakfast and left for the company.

It was 6:54 am when I reached the company. I went to the receptionist and got the list of my schedules. The schedules were really tight.

Will I really be able to do this?...

"You need to change into these clothes." She handed me some clothes. "You can get changed in that room." She pointed to a room at the very end of the hallway.

I did as I was instructed. And I made sure to lock the door properly before changing my clothes. It was a full suit, but without a tie. They also gave me in-ears so that we could communicate with the other bodyguards.

"This fits me perfectly," I mumbled to myself as I checked myself in the mirror.

When I was all ready, I walked out of the room. I walked to the entrance and saw some people standing there. They wore the same clothes as me which meant there were the other bodyguards. I went near them and stood beside a lady.

"Are you new here?" she suddenly asked, turning to face me.

"Ah, yes... It's my first day today."

"Ah, I see. Your name?"

"Mirae. Kang Mirae."

"Nice to meet you Mirae-ssi. I'm Jeon Jiwoo." She held out her hand for me to shake.

I shook hands with her. "Nice to meet you too."

"How old are you?"

"I'm a 99'liner."

"Ah, so you're three years younger than me. In that case, you can call me unnie."

"Okay." I happily nodded.

"Who's bodyguard are you by the way?"

"Mr. Choi San's."

"Choi San?" She seemed a little shocked.

I nodded. "Why?..." I looked at her in confusion.

She then gestured me to come closer. "I'm warning you. You should stay away from him... I've been working here for four years now and he's the only one whom I don't want to work with... He's a total jerk."

"Ah, really?"

"And if he gets mad at you... Then you're dead. He's the scariest when he's angry. So watch out for him."

I instantly got goosebumps when she whispered that to me. I knew he was a little scary by his appearance, but after hearing more about him made me freeze at my spot.

"But don't worry," she said. "As long as you don't get at his bad side, you'll be fine." She patted my shoulder.

Will I really be okay?...

"Good morning San-ssi," one of the bodyguard said, snapping me out of my thoughts.

"Good morning Minhyun-ssi," he greeted him back and the others too. But when his gaze landed on me, he just rolled his eyes and walked away.

As long as I don't make him mad, I'll be fine.

Then we all headed towards the parking lot. I was still walking behind the senior bodyguards when I tripped. I was about to fall on my face when someone held me and saved me.

"Are you okay?" I heard a soft voice say.

I stood straight and turned to see an ash grey haired boy, looking at me with concern. I kept looking at him for a while.

He's so handsome...

"Are you okay?" he asked again.

"Huh? Yeah, I'm okay."

"Are you new here? I haven't seen you before."

"Ah, today's my first day."

"Then, I'll see you around."

He gave me a sweet smile and walked towards a van. I kept staring at him as he went inside his van.

Is he even real? I feel like I'm dreaming.

I was still lost in thoughts when someone bumped their shoulder into mine, making me stumble a bit.

"Stop dreaming," San said, passing by me, his hands stuffed in his pockets.

He went straight towards the van to where that grey haired boy went earlier, without even sparing me a glance.

"What's with him?..."
