It's A Trap
10:27, 12 February 2024I listened to the Orc's war horn blare once again. Azog must have given another order. I looked to the Mountain. Has Thorin sent the company in to help yet? Are they all still alive? Have the Orc's won and taken the Mountain?

MEANWHILE UNDER THE MOUNTAIN
Thorin emerged from the depths of the Mountain. The company was waiting. Kili stood when he saw his uncle. He was angry.
"I will not hide behind a wall of stone while others fight our battles for us!" He snapped. "It is not in my blood, Thorin."
"No. It is not. We are sons of Durin. And Durin's folk do not flee from a fight."
Kili grinned with tears in his eyes. Thorin was back!
"I have no right to ask this of any of you. But will you follow me one last time?"
Everyone stood, ready to fight alongside their King.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Another horn, this time it was answered by a different one.
I looked to the Mountain.
"Thorin." I whispered.
The company was joining the fight. I smiled, this means Erebor has not yet been lost to the Orcs.
The battle cries of the Dwarves echoed through the mountains, now the battle was truly on.
I got up and ran to the highest point I could find. Gandalf followed. I looked out to the battle field back at the Mountain.
"It's the Dwarves. Thorin's back! They're rallying!" I said with a grin.
"They're rallying to their king." Gandalf agreed happily.
I just prayed they all made it out alive.
Below Bard was gathering his men.
"Any man who wants to give their last follow me!"
More Orcs flooded Dale but the town's people weren't about to lay down and die.
We hit back with everything we had.
I quickly ran to update the women and children.
But when I got there I was pleasantly surprised.
"I say we stand with our men, in life and death!" Hilda said.
She told all the women to arm themselves, and they did.
One woman was trying to convince an older lady to fight. The older lady brushed her off arguing in a high pitched voice that suddenly dropped when she got tired of saying no.
I marched over and ripped the cloak off the old "woman".
"Alfrid, you cowardly little bastard, get your ass out there and fight!" I snapped.
"Coward? Not every man is brave enough to wear a corset!"
"A man?" I laughed. "You're no man. These children are braver and more 'manly' than you could ever hope to be. You're nothing but a little weasel."
With that Hilda and I lead the women into battle. Some of the elderly and older children followed right behind us, ready to fight to the death for their people.
These sweet, kind women were surprisingly viscous.
I fought my way back to a high point to check on the battle at the mountain. I saw Thorin on a ram riding away from the fight with some of the Dwarves on a battle carriage following behind. They were headed to Ravenhill. To Azog.
I raced back to Gandalf.
"Thorin, he's going after Azog!"
"Go! I'll be there when I can."
I nodded and took off. I found Bard.
"I need your horse!"
"Take it!" He said, slicing through an Orc's chest.
I nodded my thanks.
I rode off as fast as the horse could go. I'd meet them in the pass between the mountains.
"What the hell are you guys doing?!" I cried as I rode up next to them.
"Ashryn!" They cried.
Their happiness in seeing me was short lived as a Troll jumped down behind us. I jumped from my horse landing in the carriage.
Kili quickly hugged me.
"You're crazy." He said.
"Yeah but you love me." I smiled back.
Balin was driving, Dwalin was manning the arrow launcher and Kili and Fili were on either side of the carriage ready to fight off anything that got too close.
"Bring it down!" Dwalin yelled. "Shoot it!"
"Where?!" Kili yelled nocking and arrow.
"In his jambags!"
"His what?!" I asked, looking at Dwalin.
"It doesn't have any jambags!" Kili cried.
Kili fired at its arm as it swung at us. The Troll reeled back but kept coming.
"Hang on lads! I'm coming!"
"Bofur!" I cried happily.
I turned and my eyes went wide. There was Bofur steering a Troll towards us, by it's eye sockets. The Troll had maces where it's hands and feet should be.
Bofur laughed as the Troll swung one of his mace hands into the Troll chasing us.
The mace got caught and Bofur's Troll was pulled down. The other Troll roared as it forgot about us and began fighting Bofur's Troll.
Bofur wasn't going down without a fight. His Troll swung a mace into the others head. We all cheered. I shook my head Bofur is truly one of a kind.
"Bofur you beauty!" Fili yelled as Bofur fought off the other Troll.
We were sliding all over the icy path. We came up to another Troll, this one carrying a bridge filled with Orcs. Dwalin fired one arrow after another knocking them off the platform.
"Come on, you hairy hedgepig!" He yelled.
All it took was one perfectly aimed shot and the Troll fell. We rode over it and kept going, following Thorin to Ravenhill.
"Wargs!" Kili yelled, as they leapt onto the ice.
The two of them took out our two lead rams sending us skidding across the ice. Kili grabbed onto me as we swerved.
Once we stabilized he let go of me to fight off the oncoming Orcs.
I pulled out my blade and started swinging.
There were more Wargs coming from behind us. Dwalin turned to Balin.
"We're pulling too much weight. We wont make it."
"Cut the tracers. Ride them to Ravenhill."
Dwalin placed his hand over his brothers.
"No Balin."
"My goat riding days are over. Durin be with you brother."
"Balin." I said, I didn't like this plan.
"And with you too lassie."
I smiled and kissed his cheek.
"With you as well." I said before we all leapt onto the goats. I hopped on behind Kili, wrapping my arms around his middle.
We all cut our rams free and rode off, leaving Balin behind to fend for himself. Hopefully Bofur wasn't too far behind him.
"Onwards!" Thorin called as we caught up to him.
"Lead on!" Dwalin yelled back.
We made it to the snowy mountain top and began yet another battle, with the Orcs.
We all jumped off our goats and dove right in.
MEANWHILE IN DALE
Legolas rode into the city.
"Gandalf!"
"Legolas. Legolas Greenleaf."
"There is a second army." The Elf prince said as he dismounted his horse. "Bolg leads a force of Gundabad Orcs. They're almost upon us."
"Gundabad. This was their plan all along. Azog engages our forces, then Bolg sweeps in from the North. Ravenhill. Thorin, Fili, Kili, Dwalin and Ashryn are all up there."
Tauriel who rode in with Legolas looked up at the mention of Kili and Ashryn.
She knew then what she must do.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Once we had taken out all the Orcs on Ravenhill we looked around for any sign of Azog.
"Where is he? It looks empty." Kili said referring to the place Azog had stood since the battle began. "I think Azog has fled."
"I don't think so." Thorin replied. "Fili, take your brother. Scout out the towers. Keep low and out of sight. If you see something, report back. Do not engage. Do you understand?"
"We have company." Dwalin said before they could answer. "Goblin mercenaries. No more than a hundred."
"We'll take care of them. Go!"
Kili gave me a quick kiss.
"I love you."
"I love you too." I replied.
I watched the boys run off before turning to the goblin hoard.
The Goblins weren't too hard to fight. They were oddly shaped and unbalanced. Not the strongest fighters. But I guess when you live underground there isn't much need for fighting abilities.
I heard a horn blare, this time it was from the Elves. Thranduil was recalling his warriors.
We finished taking out the Goblins and Thorin started pacing trying to see where Azog had gone.
Suddenly someone appeared next to me, panting as if they'd just run a marathon.
"Bilbo?!"
"Yeah." He panted.
"I thought you left!"
"Well you see I did but then I came back. Thorin! You have to leave here. Now! Azog has another army attacking from the North. This watchtower will be completely surrounded with no way out."
"We are so close. That Orc scum is in there, I say we push on." Dwalin countered.
Thorin stopped him with a hand on his chest.
"No. That's what he wants. He wants to draw us in. This is a trap."
Thorin looked to where Fili and Kili had gone and my heart sank. We have to find them and warn them.
"Thorin we have to warn them!" I said.
He turned to Dwalin.
"Find Fili and Kili. Call them back."
"Thorin, are you sure about this?"
"Do it. We'll live to fight another day."
Suddenly the sound of drums echoed through the mountain. I looked to where Fili and Kili had gone and saw lights flickering in the shadows. The army was here. We're too late.
"Fili!" I screamed as an Orc dragged him out by his hair.
He held Fili up over the edge of the watchtower, and spoke in Black Speech.
"This one dies first. Then the brother. Then you, Oakenshield. You will die last."
I had no idea what he said but I knew it was nothing good.
I felt tears stream down my face while I braced myself for what was about to happen.
"Go! Run!" Fili yelled.
Thorin shook his head.
I screamed as Azog stabbed Fili in the back right through his chest. Thorin pulled me to his chest trying to shield me from the sight, but it was too late. Azog had already dropped Fili's lifeless body from the tower.
Thorin gasped, all the air seemingly knocked out of him at the sight of his nephew's death.
I pulled away from Thorin, I had to find Kili.
I heard someone yell and saw him coming running out of his hiding place.
"KILI, NO!" I screamed.
Thorin yelled for Kili and ran after him. Dwalin and I followed. I turned back to Bilbo as I ran.
"Bilbo, get out of here!" I ordered.
Bilbo slipped the ring back on and disappeared.
As we ran Azog came flying out of nowhere and attacked Thorin.
"Go! Find Kili!" He yelled at me as he fought the Orc.
I nodded and ran. War bats flew over my head as Bolg's army appeared.
I prepared to fight my way through when Dwalin came barreling over swinging his axe.
"Go! I'll hold them off!"
As I ran I searched for Kili. I found him battling Orcs on a ledge. It was far but I wasn't going to stop until I got to him.
As I got closer I spotted a familiar red haired She-Elf.
"Tauriel!"
"Ashryn! You're ok!"
"I'm fine, I have to get to Kili!"
"I'm coming with you."
I nodded and we took off.
Three Orcs appeared and before I could do a thing Tauriel did what she does best and finished them off.
I heard Azog yelling and looked down to see a small army advancing on Thorin. Out of nowhere arrows were flying taking down Orcs one by one. I looked up to where they were coming from.
"Is that Legolas?"
"Yes, come on!" Tauriel said pulling me along.
Tauriel continued clearing the way for me, letting me save what was left of my strength to help Kili.
"Kili!" I yelled as we got closer.
"Ashryn!" He yelled back.
An Orc came up behind me and kicked me into a pile of rocks.
I groaned as the stone dug into my skin.
Kili fought his way down, filled with a rage I'd never seen in him before.
Tauriel was in an all out battle with Bolg, he must have been the one to attack me.
She cried out as he twisted her arm and punched her to the ground. She was out cold.
Bolg advanced on me and grabbed me by the throat. I struggled against him but I was too small for it to make a difference. The Orc practically laughed in my face at my efforts.
I managed to kick him, which apparently pissed him off as he threw me into a wall and reached back pulling out his axe.
I groaned in pain as I bounced off the stone and hit the ground.
"Ashryn!" Kili cried.
Bold lifted the axe above his head as Kili came down on him.
Bolg threw Kili into some stairs, but he was quick to jump back to his feet.
Bolg disarmed him and punched him in the face before raising his blade.
I pushed myself to my feet and launched myself at the Orc.
He shook me off throwing me a few feet away.
"KILI!" I screamed.
Bolg raised his blade and slammed it down into Kili's chest.
"NO! KILI!" I was sobbing at this point as I felt my heart shatter.
As the light faded from his eyes he looked at me and mouthed 'I love you', before Bolg dropped his lifeless body to the ground like it was nothing.
I screamed as I ran at Bolg. I grabbed him and jumped kicking off the ground and springing off the rocks next to me, I used every ounce of strength I had left in me as I kicked off that rock sending us both toppling over the edge of a cliff.
We rolled and bounced off the rocky mountain side as we fell. I finally landed on a small platform. The wind had been knocked out of me. I couldn't move as Bolg got up and came for me.
I heard a roaring and both Bolg and I looked up to see Legolas on the Troll Bofur had been riding. He ran the Troll head first into a near by tower, knocking it down, creating a bridge. Bolg forgot about me and went after the Elf prince.
I watched still unable to move as they fell into the tower. Legolas was strong, stronger than I thought. He was effortlessly holding his own against Bolg.
I got up and crawled my way back to Kili. I pulled his head into my lap as I sobbed.
"Kili. Kili!" I cried.
I knew in my heart he was gone. So was Fili. I wiped the tears from my face and with some effort I picked up Kili and carried him to a safe place before laying him down.
"I love you." I said as I placed a kiss on his forehead.
I stood and grabbed my sword. Thorin is still alive, I wont lose anyone else tonight!
