Chapter 46- Stupid Cupid

Sweat dribbled down from the tip of his nose trickling down on the girl's pearl white skin. His narrow, half-lidded charcoal eyes made his way to her trembling figure below him.

He lowered his head and softly nimbled on her porcelain neck as his hands travel around her exposed abdomen. The girl flinched at his bold move, her teeth gnashed against her supple lower lip.

Sasuke could feel her shudder under his audacious touch, his lips curling up in satisfaction. The lass inhaled a sharp breath when she met a sturdy sensation on her chest. Firm hand obstructed her delicate wrists against the pillow, keeping her still from pushing his arms.

His sharp gaze pierced on the piece of fabric that was left of her, hiding two shy voluptous bosoms from his viscious eyes. His calloused fingers lifted the hem of the clothing slightly, revealing a part of her breasts making Sasuke gulp on his own saliva.

"S-sasuke...", a mellow voice called out.

He affectionately glanced at her tear-strickened face before planting a gentle kiss on her eyelashes, wiping the tears away. He freed her hands, letting the girl wrap her arms around his neck. The fast drumming of his heart enchoed in his ears as he tenderly stroke her cheeks lovingly.

Finally taking notice of the damsel who was succumbing to the lack of oxygen, Sasuke leaned back.

Sasuke stared at the greyish white ceiling above him. His fist was on the bedside table, his alarm clock shattered from the impact.

Lhexi frowned at how Sasuke ignored her. It's been like that ever since the incident with Itachi but, occasionally he would still respond with a nod. Today just seems different that he made sure he was three meters away from her and constantly making her believe her existence is a lie.

She stared ahead, awkwardly side glancing at the Uchiha who had his back turned around her. She misses his warmth after spending the night alone once again. She have gotten used to his hobby of invading her privacy that the bed felt bigger without him.

"Lhexi!", she abruptly stood straight after hearing Sakura dashing towards her with a bright smile as she wave her hand, her pink scarf swaying behind her. "Here! Here! What do you think?"

Lhexi's eyes twitched at the sight of numerous black balls all inside a green pouch. They were producing a strange and dangerous smell that shouldn't be inside soldier pills.

"U-uhm...S-Sakura they look great...yeah! They look great!"

Sakura's eyes gleamed with stars. "Yes! Mission Success! Although kaa-san banned me from using our kitchen forever."

Lhexi suddenly placed her hands on Sakura's shoulders. "Sakura, promise me to never ever ever enter a kitchen."

The pinkette stared at Lhexi, confused. "Why?"

"Just promise me. Please."

"Alright." Sakura nodded. "I promise to never ever ever enter a kitchen."

The black-haired girl placed her hand on her chest finally able to breathe in relief.

"Oi! Ohayo ttebayo!"

The two girls turned their head towards the literal yellow ball of sunshine who approached them, a red scarf around his neck.

"Eh? Lhexi-chan, you're not wearing a scarf?", Naruto asked.

"Ah, it's not yet that cold here in the Fire country. I'll just wear them later when we arrive in the Land of Snow."

The blonde and the pinkette bended forwards, looking shell-shocked at Lhexi who sweatdropped.

"What do you mean Lhexi, it's freezing cold!", Sakura voiced out loud.

"It's so cold out here when it's not even yet winter.", Naruto shivered earning a nod from Sakura who agreed.

The long haired girl scratched her chin. "Well, I'm used to the cold."

She flinched, the familiar sensation surging through her veins. She looked down to see Naruto holding her hands as he closes his eyes.

He snapped his eyes wide open, slightly glaring at the girl. "Stop lying. 'Used to the cold' my ass, you're freezing ttebayo!"

She giggled underneath her breath when Naruto snatched the black scarf from her hands when she was about to put it on. He wrapped it around her neck in a quick motion, rotating it thrice.

"You're so chewy to Naruto, Lhexi.", Sakura teased and Naruto lowered his chin inside his red scarf, trying to hide the blush on his cheeks. "By the way, what's wrong with Sasuke-kun?"

The three turned their attention to Sasuke who was secretly listening to their conversations with his back turned on them.

"Kakashi-sensei is late again, well it's not surprising anymore."

Sasuke slightly turned his head, nodding in recognition before staring outside the gate once again. Naruto scrunched up his eyebrows, sensing something weird. He malicious grinned, a prank forming in his head.

Several minutes passed, and the team except for Sasuke continued to talk. Bickering and joking to one another.

"Yo, my cute little students!"

The four turned to their teacher. The three genins gave him a deadpanned look while Lhexi smiled at him.

"Uhm...a black cat--", Kakashi's students immediately cut him off.

"--'crossed my path so I had to take the long way around.'", his three genins simultaneously said in sync before sighing in the end. "Can't you think of a better excuse?", Sasuke asked.

The three genin stared blankly at him, the only Chunin in the group smiling at his appearance. Lhexi can't really fit in the team so fast. Kakashi sweat dropped at how the original team 7 ignored him. At this point, they were no longer surprised that he was late once again.

Lhexi chuckled awkwardly as she sweatdropped sending a look of symphaty towards the jonin who slumped in defeat.

"As if we're gonna believe your lame excuses, Kakashi-sensei.", Naruto pointed out.

"Try harder next time.", the pinkette added another bullet.

"W-well, l-let's go, shall we?", he tried to divert the topic only to be ignored by his former students who idly walked past him. "Minna...how can you be so cruel...?"

"Ah by the way Lhexi-chan, you will teach me fuinjutsu after the mission, right?"

"Fuinjutsu?", Lhexi suddenly remembered what she promised yesterday as she watched Naruto bobbed his head enthusiastically. She laughed a little before ruffling his hair, earning a glare from a certain range. "Sure why not. You're an Uzumaki so you will learn it no time."

"Haah! Arigatou!"

Sakura chimmed in between their conversation. "Uhm...you think you can teach me the basics of Medical Ninjutsu? I've been asking Lady Tsunade and she's always turning me down. Shizune-san told me to just keep going until she gives in."

"I'll gladly help you out, Sakura."

The pinkette enclosed Lhexi's hands in her palms. "Thank's a lot. I'll be in your care!"

Sasuke remained silent from the distance, sharpening his kunai.

"M-minna...", Kakashi outstretched his hand at the three genin including Lhexi who completely forgot about his existence.

'Perhaps its Karma? This is quite painful.'

He faked coughed to gain the attention of the whole team. "I don't really have any advice. Just be careful. I'll say this now, before I forget about it."

The four scowled. 'And you call yourself a teacher? How irresponsible...'

"You have grown stronger over the year and I'm quite confident we can complete this mission without a hitch.", his former students smirked after getting praised.

"If you give them more of that, their heads gonna get bigger."

They all turned their heads towards the walking male brunnette who appeared out of nowhere just a couple meters outside the village gate and Sasuke's eyebrows twitched in annoyance.

"Oh, Kyuuji, you're back. How did your mission go?", the silver-haired jonin raised his hand as a sign of greeting.

"Okay. I guess.", he replied, not really giving much of a surprise to his senior. Kakashi approached him, getting all friendly which was totally out of their sensei's character.

"Sakura-chan, you know him?", Naruto asked as he cover his mouth with his hand with his body leaned slightly towards Sakura.

Sakura stared at the brunette from a distance as their not so socially butterfly teacher had a friendly conversation with him. "I've seen him before but, I don't really know him that much, well I don't even know his name."

"He's Ryuugaime Kyuuji and my teacher.", the black haired girl casually stared at the male Ryuugaime with an unreadable expression.

"Ryuugaime...?! Ah! That famous guy...!", Naruto hissed with mouth agape.

Sakura chimmed in. "He's your teacher...?! Since when...?!"

"For only a month during the Chunin Exams. Well, he still calls me for a sparring session every now and then when he has some free time."

The two leaned back with sparkles in their eyes. "That's amazing...! You have the hero personally training you!", Sakura yelled.

"Hero?", she asked, her fabulous acting slipping up.

"Isn't that what they call him? The one who lead the group that exterminated that whole evil clan?", the pinkette proudly exclaimed olivious to the girl who dropped her mask for one entire moment.

This time, Lhexi's mind went blank. 'Hero...? That man is a hero...? Evil...? Us...? What does that mean...?'

Sakura continued to blabber unaware of the killing intent surging around Lhexi who's hands tightened with the aim to strangle the Haruno. Kyuuji and Kakashi tensed up for one second, chills running down their spine as they look towards the source.

Lhexi slowly raised her hand up towards Sakura who was recalling rumors she've heard about a certain clan. "All of them are psychopaths who have no mercy towards the wea--!"

Sakura's shoulders went rigid as a floating black cloak appear before her, underneath the clothes was a skeletal who's non existent eyes bore through her soul, with a sickle in his arms.

"I see! I didn't know much about that, thanks for telling me Sakura."

Sakura blinked her eyes to reality feeling the hand of Lhexi on her shoulder. She was sure someone was out to kill her barely a few seconds ago.

Kakashi glanced at Kyuuji who nodded, both thinking the same thing when they had their kunai knives in their hands.

"I guess, there are other things Lhexi-chan doesn't know yet. Hm. Hm. I totally understand.", Naruto crossed his arms acting like a scholar.

"Tring to show off your stupidity?", Sasuke asked with a smirk.

Naruto grew a tick mark. "Urusai! Teme!"

Sakura tried to shake away her thoughts by asking another question. "By the way, I don't see much ninjas in the village? Did something happen?"

"All Jonin and several Chunin are assigned to high ranked missions.", Naruto blinked his eyes in confusion, a question mark popping over his head. Kakashi approached them, eyeing someone dangerously. "We can't show the other nations that we can easily be invaded and we can prevent attacks by stabilizing our relationship with the other villages."

"That's tough, sensei.", Kakashi glanced at Lhexi, almost not seeing the twitch on the corner of her lips.

He eye smiled facing his body towards the girl. "Yeah. Especially, since a traitor is presumably among us.", he matched Lhexi's fake smile with his own.

"I hope you find that person soon...", she exasperated as an ominous silence grew between the two. A tense atmosphere that could hardly be cut down by a butter knife.

Naruto broke the silence, completely oblivious. "Ehhh...you got any clues about that guy?"

Kyuuji intercepted. "We have a few suspects. We will find that person soon."

He observed the Uzumaki who inherited every bit of his father's traits except for his personality and attitude that he got from his red haired mother, a hundred precent.

"I'm afraid we're running out of time. Shall we go?", Kakashi asked.

Kyuuji placed his hand on Lhexi's back. "Be careful.", the girl's eyes grew wide dumbfounded. She smiled before nodding although in the back of her mind, she felt that it wasn't for her rather for someone else.

"We've been waiting for that! Ttebayo!", Naruto fist pumped the air as they finally began their first mission with Lhexi who silently clenched her teeth for slipping up.

Kyuuji watched her from a distance, his hand print on her back glowing blue as several seals activated without her knowledge. Kakashi looked straight ahead. He will assess her true identity in this mission without fail. He will judge with his own eyes, who she truly was.

Several hours of traveling by jumping from one tree to another, Kakashi sensed someone else following them, their chakra signature almost unnoticeable. He remained calm despite the situation, not letting his anxiousness slip from his act.

'This is bad...', Lhexi thought to herself. 'I need to finish things quickly. Kakashi-sensei's suspicion on me grow larger day by day. It won't take long before he knows my true identity. And who the hell is spying on me?! I can sense someone always watching my every move. I can't even train properly because of that. Damn it.'

After days of travels and breaks in between, Team 7 finally arrived in the Land of Snow. Much to the three genins worry, the cold was worse than they thought.

With only warm white cloaks to protect them from the freezing night, they checked inside an inn to everyone's pleasure.

"We will start our search tomorrow. Well, just take as much rest as you can. I'll be taking a bath first, jane~!", Kakashi left his students inside the room who slumped either on the bed, the wall or the floor due to exhaustion.

"That stupid sensei, hogging the onsen before us. How unfair!", Naruto dropped his bag on his bed, running on the halls carrying his towel and yukata borrowed from the inn.

Sakura stood by the doorside, shouting at the blonde who already disappeared from her sight. "Oi, Naruto! Don't just leave your bag in a mess! --mattaku, that idiot..."

"I'm surprised Kakashi sensei knows an onsen in a rural place like this.", Lhexi said as she removes her green vest.

"He's probably taking this chance slacking again.", Sasuke abruptly added to which Sakura giggled at.

Taking her white towel and green yukata, Lhexi stood up from the bed she was sitting. "I'm gonna take a bath. Sakura, wanna join me?"

The pinkette waved her hands. "Hmhm. I'll join you later. Is that alright?"

"Okay, hurry up before midnight, kay?", Alexa replied in return with a little frown on her face, while secretly being happy inside for she doesn't have Sakura to see her scars. She would definitely ask questions which is a pain in the ass.

Sakura watched Lhexi finally leave the viscinity before her inner monologue screamed in joy. Finally, she can now have a private meeting with Sasuke.

"Sasuke-kun...", she called a little hesitant at the boy who was rummaging through his bag, his back turned on her.

"What?", he asks, not quite interested.

"I wanted to tell you something...", she trailed off and Sasuke urged her to continue to which she smiled at. "T-the truth is...uhm..."

She played with the locks on her hair and Sasuke briefly glanced at her, with a deadpanned look. "What is it?"

Sakura locked eyes with Sasuke and she held her breath before finally speaking out her feelings she've hidden for years. A blushing mess, a crampled dress, a nervous smile.

"I like you, Sasuke-kun."

Silence engulfed their conversation as Sakura shut her eyes close. She finally said it at long last. Slowly opening her eyes, Sasuke blinked his eyes at her as if he was thinking about something.

She brought her hands close to her chest, hearing her heart pounding like crazy. "I liked you for a while now...w-will you go out with me?"

"Sorry. I don't have time for that."

Sakura stood there alone, with wide eyes and mouth agape. Sweat trickling down her forehead. "Y-yes...?"

"I'm joining the others.", he stood up, an aloof expression on his face with his empty hand stuffed in his pocket like some girl didn't confessed to him just a second ago.

Sasuke walked past her without looking back and Sakura gritted her teeth before twirling her heels around.

"What don't you like about me?! Tell me! And I'll fix them! So please! Don't just leave me here!"

The raven haired Uchiha stopped on tracks, looking back, his head over his shoulder.

"I don't hate you but, I don't particularly like you either. Whether you change your personality or appearance, I don't really care.", Sakura was taken aback with Sasuke's cold answer.

She looked down, her fists curling into a ball and Sasuke simply turned away and went on his merry way.

"You like Lhexi...right?"

Sasuke stopped not looking back, his hand on the doorknob.

"I noticed it whenever she's around, you always looked relax and comfortable. Everytime you look at her, there's always this longing gaze I see in your eyes." Sasuke didn't reply and just stood there, listening to every words she says. "It's not something I can make you feel..."

"It's as if..."

"Stop it, Sakura.", Sasuke warned, his voice low.

"...you wanted Lhexi to look at you the same way.", Sakura continued as tears welled up her eyes before finally dripping down with a heartwarming yet painful smile on her face. "You love her right?"

Sasuke heard her sniff as she wipe her tears away.

"Whether I like her or not doesn't concern you.", he started, his grip tightening. "And, I won't let myself get distracted with such childish emotions."

He finally opened the door at long last before shutting it close, the girl inside fell on her knees sobbing against her palms. Sakura's words rang in his head as he walk down the halls with an irritated glare.

Lhexi looked around the hot spring, seeing no one else but her. She smiled before taking off her yukata as it slid off her shoulders, dropping on her feet.

She massaged her stiff shoulders a little, her fingers brushing lightly against the prominent scars on her back. She stepped out of her clothes, tossing it inside a basket before dipping her right foot on the warm water.

She carefully went in the water, her body instantly relaxing at the soothing onsen. A content sigh instantly escaping her lips. Her wet black hair, cascaded down her naked skin like flowing waterfalls. It's been a while since she rested like this.

She heard bubbles coming from below and looked down at the water, staring at the dark figure behind her reflection.

Sasuke's POV

So annoying. That girl kept reappearing in my head like a damn cockroach. She's what I dream off when I'm asleep and she's the first person I remember whenever I wake up.

Don't she had enough of it already?

Tch. Why does it has to be that loser? All she does is smile all day and yet I...

I combed through my hair, sweeping it back from my forehead as I stare at the cloudy sky. This is worst that I thought. I closed my eyes, recollecting my thoughts.

"Damn i--!"

A huge splash went across my face, a hot sensation trembling on my nerves as I glare at the tanned skin perpetrator.

"HAHAHA! Operation to splash teme with water, SUCCESS!", he laughed at his own prank.

"Naruto.", I snarled as I grab a wooden tub of water floating in from of me. Filling it up with water before splashing in on his head, his mouth catching some water.

That small attack cause him to fall back in the water, drowning in the process. I watched him rise quickly, shaking his head, water sprinkling everywhere from his yellow hair.

I probably caught his stupidity when I smirked above him. "Usuratonkachi. A sneaky attack like that won't--blurb!"

Someone pulled me on my ankle down the water and I forcibly kicked down the yellow haired boy with an idiotic face before rising up to the water, gasping for air.

He rose up next to me, glaring at me again as he touch the red footprint on his cheek. "That hurts, konoyaro!"

"You two, this isn't a playground. See, you're not the only ones using the onsen.", he motioned for us to look around to see men staring at us in annoyance. We both stared at our stupid teacher who had a white towel wrapped across his face.

Is he that insecure about it?

For some reason, I wanna know what he looks like behind that mask.

I sighed before resting my back against the huge rock in the middle of the hot spring. Staring at nothing in particular while ignoring the idiot who was recklessly swimming around like he owns the place.

"You seem to be deep in thought."

I ignored him, hearing a piece of paper folding. He's still reading that book while bathing?

"Let me guess. It's a girl, right?"

I grew a tick mark on my forehead, splashing water towards him to which he dodge. He chuckled at my response while still continuing on reading his book.

"I'm right."

Tch. It's one after another.

"Lhexi...huh? You're just like Naruto."

I turned away, getting myself reminded that she was bathing behind the bamboo walls, mere meters away. I brought my palm against my lips. What would she looked like with only a towel draped around her body...?

Damn it. What am I thinking?

"You don't want her distracting you. So, why don't you settle it with her, once and for all?"

This old man.

I glared at him, "What do you know about girls?"

"Oh ho, are you forgetting something?", he giggled darkly. Argh. I feel like throwing up. "I'm an adult and I might have no experience with girls but, I know a lot about them you know."

He wiggled his book around.

"As my precious student, I'll let you borrow my precious book."

I raised an eyebrow. "What's your game?"

"Hm? I don't have a game.", he eyesmiled. That annoying face. I want to rip it to shreds. "This book will help you understand girls so you will get closer to Lhexi-chan~ What do you think?"

He leaned closer, my fingers twitching to grab the book and start reading it already.

I crossed my arms, my pride winning over my desire. "Humph. I don't read books based on romance-genre written by that idiot's master.", I glanced at Naruto who suddenly dived into the water.

He leaned back, a little disappointed. "Then what novels do you usually read?"

"Any book written by Ryuu."

On the other side of the hotspring, Lhexi sneezed to herself, her skin shivering in cold despite being in the warm water. The person below her finally emerged out of the water to her surprise.

"Oh, so have you read his newest volume."

My ears perked up as I look at him. "You mean the Tale of the Dark Hero: Demon Series?"

"Yes yes."

"I have yet to read it."

"Then, why don't you try reading Make-Out Paradise first?"

He shoved the book on my face and I struggled to push him off. "I. Don't. Want. To!"

"If you don't you'll never get closer to Lhexi...", he taunted and another irk mark grew on the other side of my head.

"She's not like other girls...! Tsk. I'm done here.", I rose up from water, drying my body with a towel noticing sensei's obvious tease before wearing my yukata.

Suddenly, I heard a loud explosion coming from the opposite of the onsen where Lhexi was currently at. My eyes widened running towards the said place. I'm a ninja but, despite that, I still have a personal reason to respect women's dignity.

"Lhexi?", I called entering the covers of the Women's Bath.

Just then, a dark figure ran outside the mist accidentally brushing against my shoulder. It was a man with a dark bruise covering half of his face.

I tripped him, after finally realizing what he have done. Someone appeared before my eyes, kicking him on his gut, he threw up before his body slammed against the wall creating a visible crack.

"You saw that, didn't you?!"

I sweatdropped, hearing her rage from her calm voice as I cover my eyes with my hand. I peeked between my fingers seeing her lower body loosely covered with a white towel.

Her thighs could be seen from the slits. The problem is, why isn't she wearing anything on top?

If it wasn't for her long black hair that covered her bossoms, I wouldn't have to wait for marriage to see her bare chest.

Huhu. Sorry guys, I might be dropping this story 'cause I need to concentrate on my studies.

I already have some drafts of the following chapters but, I can't just bring myself to continue writing and editing and stuff.

But, I'll try to continue this book.
