Chapter 21- Her Sun
20:18, 5 March 2022Third Person's POV
Alexa looked around the opened scrolls and books messily arranged around her. She heaved a yawn and rubbed her itchy eyes that desperately needed sleep. She could pull out 3 all nighter if only she was in her original body. The child needed rest and her hands are twitching to get a cup of coffee but, she can't because of her promise from her foster mother.
"Not until you're eighteen.", she's irritated, since its not like she's gonna drink something, its just a cup of coffee. She wonders why Matilda warns her to never drink one.
She plopped on the ground exhausted, dust circled around her from the impact against the old books. She have been reading and researching a lot of jutsus mainly summoning ones to start spying on her targets. She have to gather more information about the village including the other hidden villages, since she might get a useful data and because they will serve as a threat in the later years.
She stared at the white ceiling above her before she let out a yell of frustration when she couldn't gain a single summon. She sat up straight and heaved a deep breath before sticking her hands together performing the necessary handsigns as she focus her chakra. She bit her thumb and slammed it on the floor.
Not a poof of smoke appeared nor was she summoned to the land of summons. She ignored the bleeding cuts on her hands caused from biting them again and again as she tried doing it again.
"Boar dog bird monkey ram.", she recited the same words like a mantra in her head.
An hour passed, and she rested herself once again, her back laid on the floor. She needs help from someone, a jonin but, she has to do this alone. She can't let anyone know for the time being.
Picking herself up together, she saved the summons for later. She has to atleast do something productive for the day like polishing her kenjutsu skills or adding more ninjutsus to her list. But she has been doing this for the past 4 years, she needs something else, something she needs but she haven't tried before.
She looked around at her weapons displayed on the wall. 'What is it? What am I missing? Something...something...'
Eyeing her opened closet more particular her clothes that are neatly organized unlike the scrolls and books around her. She sat up and eyed her shinobi standard shoes including her arm gaunlets then back to the weapons on the walls.
An idea popped into her mind. "That's it...!"
She began rummaging through the messy papers trying to find a clean and empty one. She ended up finding a couple empty bond papers before finally setting herself to work. After sketching the picture on mind on the piece of paper she quickly stood up and dashed outside her door.
Running around Konoha trying to find the best weaponrist of the village she found herself infront of a rather humble store. Hearing the bells ringing as she opened the door, she locked eyes with hazel ones.
She bowed slightly as the girl infront of her did so. The room was filled with weapons of all sorts.
"Koninchiwa, what would I get for you?", Tenten asked. Lhexi smiled and headed towards the counter.
"Hello. Do you possibly manufacture weapons?", Tenten leaned slightly.
"We usually don't, since we purchase these from someone else outside the village.", she pointed at the weapons displayed.
Alexa made a slight disapointed face and Tenten immediately took notice of it and tried to take her words back. "B-but, we can make exceptions! Do you perhaps have something you want to be personally made?", the girl stuttered.
"Actually yes." Lhexi smiled and brought out a piece of paper. "Well, can you make these?"
Tenten placed her fingers on her chin as if stroking her non-existing beard. Leaning forwards to get a better view, her eyes sparkled as her vision roam around the drawing.
"This is...!", her eyes darted from Lhexi and the drawing.
And at the top of her voice she shouted. "TOU-CHAN! COME DOWN HERE!"
The girl chuckled as she tilt her head to the side her hair slightly moving, hiding away the malicious smile on her lips.
A few minutes later...
"Then, I leave the rest to you, Tenten-san.", Lhexi eyesmiled and the older girl infront of her was trying her best not to gush out loud.
"Yeah! Don't worry, we'll finish it in two weeks, Alexa-san!"
The two were able to get to know each other in the few minutes they talked. They were both kunoichis so, they were able to get along well.
"Arigatou. I'll get going now.", Tenten waved her right hand as Lhexi smiled walking outside the shop.
'Should I start training?', Alexa placed her hands behind her back interwining them as she walk the streets of Konoha.
Her eyes caught a glimpse of blonde hair eating at Ichiraku Ramen. Smiling to herself she trudge her way towards the boy only to notice he was with his team. Stopping midway, her heart raced in fear and anxiety after seeing the silver haired jonin.
As much as she wanted to join the boy she wanted to escape from where she was standing. Slightly turning around, she clenched her fists and was about to walk away.
"--sei! Give us a better mission! I'm tired of these boring stupid--!"
"Alexa?"
'You did it. Sakura.'
"Lhexi-chan? Where?"
Stiffly turning around, she was met with Sakura and Naruto poking their heads out of the covers of the shop.
"Hey...", her voice was forced and so was her smile.
Naruto's eyes lost the brightness in them for a split second no one was able to notice after remembering what happened to his best friend.
"Come here! Come here!", he patted the seat next to him.
Sasuke turned his head a little bit, just enough for him to get a glimpse of her face before turning back to the bowl of ramen he was eating. Lately, he was always eating together with his team, shocking the rest of them considering he was known to be a loner back in the academy. Well, he just took the advice of the first girl he ever talked with in the academy.
Though not concerned by the constant squeals of his female teammate, he was annoyed by their lazy teacher and the continuous loud bickers of a certain blonde. And yet he was finding them comfortable to be together with, warming his cold heart that was filled with vengenance.
Lhexi shaked her hands frantically trying her best to get away from the jonin seated. "...sorry...I'll have to go somewhere..."
Naruto pouted striking her heart with arrows by the cuteness overload of the future hokage. "It won't take a while 'ttebayo."
She can't possibly deny his request but, the presence of their teacher scares the shit out of her. Naruto noticed the hesitancy of the girl and he gave her the puppy eyes as he clasped his hands together.
"Please...!"
The sparkles in his eyes was brighter than her future. Sighing defeated, she picked herself up and tried to ignore the copy cat ninja.
"I got it.", she put up a small smile and took the seat next to Naruto.
"Yatta! What do you want? Sensei will pay!"
"M-matte, Naruto." Kakashi paled at the outbursts of his student trying his best not to sigh before shooting a look at the girl.
Lhexi shook her head before turning to the old man infront of them. "Mmmn. I'll pay for mine. Teuchi-san, miso ramen for me."
"Got it!"
She tapped her fingers and the sole of her right foot turning slowly impatient to eat and get out of there.
"Shouldn't you be with your team, Alexa?", she turned her head to the side to look at Sakura before giving a bitter smile.
"I can't."
Curiosity peaked the whole team 7 except for Kakashi. "Why?"
"Team 13 is no more."
"Huh?"
Her hair slightly moved as she give a bright small eyesmile. "We disbanded."
Sakura immediately shut her mouth close and Naruto fidgeted on his seat. Sasuke gave a look at the girl whose eyes were darkening. They were all thinking the same thing.
'Will team 7 also disband?'
"Alexa?", the girl stiffened and gripped the chopsticks on her hand.
"H-hai?", her voice was shivering, one that Kakashi took note of among the numerous suspicious actions she was making.
"Can you send regards to Aiko for me?", Alexa parted her lips slightly and nodded while staring at the broken chopsticks on her hand.
"What regards? Kakashi-sensei.", Kakashi eyesmiled at Sakura.
"Shouldn't Alexa answer that? She's your teacher."
"W-well, she's pregnant."
The three genins gave a surprise look. "Then! Then! Let's get flowers for her!"
"Sure!"
"Hn."
Kakashi was eyeing the girl on the corner of his eyes watching her every action. No one was able to notice the small tension growing between Kakashi and Alexa. Teuchi placed the bowl of ramen in front of the girl who was too disturb to even notice her food was already served.
Naruto blinked his eyes. "Lhexi-chan, you should eat ramen now or it might get soggy."
Lhexi was pushed out of her thoughts and immediately grabbed another pair of chopsticks before proceeding to eat. "You're right."
She gave a quick glance at the only jonin in the group who flipped another page of his orange book.
Naruto was silent as he observes the girl's free hand which was trembling uncontrollably. He suddenly remembered in the past whenever they walk around the village, Lhexi always holds his hand. At first, he thought it was because she won't get lost but, as time passes, he noticed that she holds him to support him from the fear and disgusted looks people throws at him.
She was warm and it gives him comfort now it was time for him to do the same. Although not quite aware of the reason why she looks so scared, he held her hand tightly below the counter. The girl stiffened before relaxing to his touch. She smiled as she took a spoonful of soup, thankful to the blonde.
Naruto, however was having a hard time using his left hand to eat. He could not control it properly, he had to adjust uncomfortably. Sasuke finally took notice of the boy's unusual behavior.
'This dobe. Why is he...?!'
His eyes widened when he saw their hands intertwined, he felt something boiling in the pit of his stomach rising to his head. He stood up all of a sudden gaining the attention of the others.
"Sasuke-kun, What's the matter?", Sakura asked.
Naruto looked at him confused. "Oi, Sasuke, done already?"
He glared at the boy, his eyes cold and menacing, something crawled on the skin of Naruto and he shivered. His eyes moved towards the girl who just stared back at him with same confused look like Naruto's. His eyes softened at the appearance of the girl he only was able to look clearly.
Then he was back to glaring at their holding hands, he slammed the bill on the table. "I'm going to train.", he announced not the slightest disturbed about the questionable looks thrown at him.
Kakashi just stared at him unamused. "You should probably digest what you ate, before training Sasuke."
Sasuke ignored his team and walked out of the shop, his hands in his pocket a cold aura surrounding him causing people to avoid him.
"What's that guy's problem?", Naruto shrugged his own question away.
Sakura also stood up from her seat placing money on the table. "I need to go.", she quickly run on the streets following the raven-haired boy.
"What's wrong with those guys?", Kakashi chuckled earning the looks from his remaining student inside the shop.
"Kakashi-sensei?"
The jonin stood up. "Mah, that's for you to find out. Then I'll take my leave.", he shunshined away and Naruto fumed in anger. "That bastard, he still hasn't paid yet!"
Lhexi held his hand tighter before he could even follow Kakashi who's nowhere in sight. "It's alright. I'll pay."
Naruto shyly nodded as the girl pull out her wallet. After eating and paying for their meal, they walked out.
"Sorry, Lhexi-chan, that turned kind of awkward.", Lhexi waved him off and gave a smile.
"It's okay."
Naruto scratched the back of his head in embarrassment.
"By the way Lhexi-chan, what about Itsuki?", the girl looked down at the ground as they walk.
"He was placed in team 26." Her voice was rather gloomy.
"You?"
She shook her head from side to side, "I'm not yet informed."
It was comfortably silent between them as they walk together to nowhere in particular. They both felt their hands occasionally touch. Naruto wondered why his face was heating up, when they already held hands before and even slept next to each other. This feeling was totally different for him compared to before, the contact of their skin sent him goosebumps, his heart was racing fast and loud he thought Lhexi could hear it.
He blushed madly when Lhexi took his hand. Walking hand in hand probably gained a few stares from people they passed though it didn't bother them.
'Is this what they call a date?!', he asked in his mind receiving no answer.
The black-haired turned her face towards him who only grinned even brighter than the sun, Lhexi could not handle the amount of guilt she was burying at the back of her emotions. He was the light to her stained black empty heart. No matter how dark her path was, there was always a lamp guiding her, Naruto would always be there. She sent him a smile, one that was filled with remorse and guilt.
She held him tighter not letting go, for once just one moment. She wanted to forget about everything, about her revenge, her hatred. She knew that their relationship would not last long so she strives to cherish every moment with him not wanting to waste any second.
She couldn't find herself wanting to kill the pure hearted boy. She could not even imagine the look on his face once he finds out about her true motives what more if she has to slaughter him with her own hands. It was killing her slowly, like an illness that would attach itself on her forever. It tortures her mind, her soul, her body, her sanity that was long gone. She was dying and no one was able to notice. No. she was already dead, and no one might not be able to even notice.
She wishes to wake up from this nightmare that's clouding her thoughts with nothing but revenge. What kind of sin could she have done in her last life that she has to accept this pain? She wishes to end it once and for all in exchange for her life but, she can't because she was already dead inside. She's just a vengeful soul longing to avenge her clan.
She hates the world for taking away her family and her friend. She wanted to make the world pay for turning her into a monster. She wanted to envelop the world with nothing but, complete darkness.
Never once in her past lifetime that she ever wanted this to happen but, now she has to. Her hand reaches for help from the diminishing source of light as black hands filled with blood pull her deeper. The girl has already drowned into deep depravity with no chance of pulling her back to the surface.
"Lhexi-chan!", the voice was warm.
She pulled herself to him closer. And at that moment she found herself at peace and tranquility, not knowing it would be her last because her painful and bitter life was just starting.
