Amora

It was now about three months into the school year and I realized one very thing.

Just how many girls completely adored Benny and fell entirely head over heels for him.

I mean I don't blame them. Look at the boy?

Not only that but he was way smart, charming, funny, sweet. Everything a girl would adore. Or anyone for that matter.

I hadn't realized it then because we started dating around the end of last years school year, going into the summer.

Now that we were back in school. Boy did I notice it tons.

So now I sat eyeing the group of girls that sat at a table across from me, completely drooling over him.

"Girl are you ok? You suffering from buyers remorse or something?" Carrie questioned sitting down next to me.

"God no nothing like that. It's just... that!" I shook my head, motioning towards the girls.

The group of girls continued to whisper and giggle to each other, continuously glancing over at him.

"Well, they could be drooling over someone else? There's nine of them?" William shrugged, looking over at the group.

"Yeah plus, I mean I don't them blame them if they're gawking over him" Penelope laughed, watching the scene.

"True, like I said. He does look like some sort of model Amora" Mads nodded her head, patting my arm.

"Well what a bust, what could I bring too the relationship?" I crossed my arms, putting on a frown.

"Hey- you're a complete model too? I'm sure you've got lots to offer" Theo comforted, patting my shoulder softly with a smile.

"Ugh whatever.. thanks" I whispered softly, curling my frown up into a smile once I glanced at him.

I crossed my arms looking up at the girl who placed down a plate in front of me.

She was totally making eyes at Benny. And making it way obvious that she was trying to flirt.

"Alright, your blt sandwich. Can I get you guys anything else?" She questioned, looking up and scanning the each of us.

Everyone looked too each other, looking for other orders or responses before shaking their heads.

"No that'll be all. Thank you!" Carrie chirped, sending her a smile.

The girl slowly nodded before trailing her eyes back over towards Benny, making my eyes squint slightly as I watched her briefly glance him up and down.

She shot him a small smile before walking away as my eyes followed her, still fuming with anger.

"Dude, you practically have smoke coming out of your ears" William laughed, nudging my arm.

"What's wrong?" Benny whipped his head over, questioning immediately at his statement.

"She's going through what every girl does in a relationship. Jealousy. Oh what a curse. It's only natural" Carrie informed, shaking her head.

"Buzz off" I muttered, rolling my eyes as I looked away angrily.

"Oh..Amora you don't have too be jealous? You already know that my eyes are only on you ever" Benny laughed, wrapping an arm around me.

"Whatever. I'm not even jealous...pfft as if!" I scoffed, looking down at the plate in front of me.

"Yeah..when you go 'pfft as if' it's an automatic sign you're a complete liar " Carrie added, quoting with her fingers.

"Oh by the way! We must discuss this trip down to the beach for Saturday" she continued, setting her fork down.

Immediately everyone bursted into excited chatter, discussing the subject.

I picked up a piece of bacon, taking a bite from it as I continued to angrily eye the waiter who now stood in front of another table.

What's going on with me? Hm, maybe I'm starting my period soon.

"Amora. Baby, you can relax" Benny laughed, shaking me softly to get my attention.

Immediately my face softened, and the anger slowly washed away as a smile cracked across my face.

I slowly turned over, tilting my head."Did you just call me baby?" I questioned, looking up at him with a smile.

His face instantly grew to a light pink as he looked down with a small smile, shrugging his shoulders slightly.

"I did" he cracked a light smile, wrapping his arm around me tighter."Sorry if you don't like it I'll-

"No no, its fine!"I cut him off, nodding my head. "Awe, aren't you just so adorable?" I repeated, teasingly poking his blushed cheek.

He rolled his eyes before squeezing me tighter and pecking my forehead, making me smile as I turned back towards the group in front of me.

"Oh papa don't even worry. I can totally drive. I've been practicing for a bit now" I smiled, picking up the keys from the desk.

He sighed lowering his glasses, giving me a stern look. "You better be careful" he ordered firmly.

"Of course dad, I love you I'll see you later!" I called out, walking off towards the door.

I slowly slowed down my pace, tugging my bottom lip between my teeth as I let out a sigh  once I received no reply, slowly walking out of the house.

I leaned over, smiling once seeing the group making me stop the car in front of them.

"Hop in losers!" I called out to see Benny, Carrie, and a few other of the boys who stood on the sidewalk.

The rest all went with William who was also the only one in the group that had a car and could drive.

Though I didn't have a license, but I did certainly have a permit! Besides, I need something to practice on anyways.

"Woah! This car is sick!" Kenny exclaimed, admiring it with awe.

"I know right! Dad gave it too me for my birthday. It's got four wheel drive, dual side airbags and monster sound system!" I smiled, watching as they jumped into the car.

"Uh Amora, you sure you can drive?" Benny asked, sitting down in the front seat next to me.

"Yeah, you aren't the best at it yet" Carrie added, strapping her seatbelt in.

"Duh? I've been practicing. I'm sure I'm way good" I assured, beginning too drive off down the road.

"You're sure? Just sure! Oh god were dead" Kenny shook his head, sighing as he slapped a hand over his eyes.

"Shut up, I am good! You'll see" I rolled my eyes, turning the wheel and driving down the corner.

"Amora? That was a stop sign!" Bertram called out, pointing back at the sign as we passed it.

"What? I totally paused!" I shrugged, frowning as I turned over and glanced back at him.

"Hey! Eyes on the road!" Benny snapped, immediately turning me back around.

"Ugh alright father!" I groaned, rolling my eyes as I gripped onto the wheel.

"Stop it!" he shook his head, scrunching his eyebrows in disgust making me laugh.

It's now been about 10 minutes into the ride and everyone was still, very on edge. Practically gripping onto their seats with every turn I made.

That was, until I played music from the radio.

Now they were singing and shouting as if they were at some sort of concert or something.

"Gosh the drifters has you guys dancing in your seats?" I laughed, listening to their awful but quite adorable singing.

"Now this song is definitely going to be playing at Wendy and I's wedding" Squints stated, smiling proudly.

"In your dreams squints" Yeah-yeah laughed, earning him a smack on the arm.

Suddenly a little girl ran across the street making me instantly jerk back, sending everyone harshly back into their seats.

"Goodness fuck! I almost ran over that gremlin thing?" I groaned angrily, continuing too drive once it was across the street.

"Oh god. Now we're all going too go to jail for running over a child!" Bertram shook his head in disappointment.

"Shut up, we're totally fine here it was just a little slip up" I assured, shaking my head as I ran a hand through my hair frustratedly.

Moments later a stupid, random car decided to swerve right into my lane making me immediately turn abruptly.

Everyone let out shrieks from the sudden swerve, as they all quickly grabbed onto each other.

"Oh my god! Who let that total, moronic idiot drive?" I scoffed, angrily glancing back at them briefly.

"Maybe that idiots friends. Like someone here we know who won't listen to us!" Kenny replied, pointing a finger towards me.

"Oh we're so dying today. I can't die yet I still have much more to do!" Squints shrieked, covering his eyes in fear.

"Oh yes, your very important lifelong goal and dreams too marry your oh so lovely Wendy Peffercorn?" Carrie questioned, perking up an eyebrow as she nudged his arm.

"Exactly!" He exclaimed, throwing his hands up.

"Can you guys just quit it! Ugh nerves are making me-

"Eyes on the road Amora!" Benny shouted over me again cutting me off, and quickly turning me back around.

"Ok ok..gosh, what's next?" I sighed, referring to the map in his hand.

"You're going to take a left on.. Ashby street" he ordered, making me nod as I listened.

"Hey- I said left?" He questioned, furrowing his eyebrows in confusion as he tapped my arm.

"Alright alright, chill out will you?" I groaned, pushing his hands away and taking the turn.

"Hey James Bond..you know in America we drive on the right side of the road?" Bertram questioned, looking down and out of the window.

"I am. You try driving in platforms?" I scoffed, frowning as I shook my head.

Immediately I looked over at the mirror sticking out in front of me once noticing a small smudge of lipstick on my chin, quickly wiping of it off and jumping up once hearing Carrie shriek.

"Amora! Hey-you just ran a red light?" She called, sitting up and looking back.

I curled my lip up into a cringe, tilting my head. "Oops?"

"I swear to god. I swear to god, you can't drive for shit woman" Kenny cracked a small laugh, shaking his head at me.

"Im not trying to hear that!" I held my finger up, glancing back at him.

"Hear it from me then. Your driving sucks" Bertram added, leaning over my shoulder to look at me.

"Hey! I'm totally doing fine here?""It's your guys freak outs back there that's making me majorly tense here" I defended, shaking my head.

"How can we not? You're drinking like a blindfolded maniac!" Kenny exclaimed, throwing his hands up.

I scoffed, angrily whipping my head back too look at them from the front seat."You know what, if you're so scared then why don't you-

"Oh my god Amora. Stop looking away from the stupid road!" Benny groaned in frustration, turning me back around.

"Geez ok! You guys are way freaking out over nothing, you're even making me nervous over here. It's super distracting!" I exclaimed, shaking my head at them.

"I swear to god if I hear another peep out of you guys I'm going to pull over and drop you right on your asses. You got-

My eyes widened when seeing a raccoon that was slowly making its way across the street right in front of the car.

Immediately I turned the wheel swerving abruptly, causing everyone to turn over in their seats.

The sound of a bump made my eyes widen even more as I quickly turned the car.

Everyone, even including me now. Let out screams as the car spun around with me swirling the wheel too get out of the way as quick as possible.

Finally I abruptly stopped the car in the middle of the road, making all us go forward in our seats before harshly falling back.

I looked down at the wheel, letting out a stunned breathe before looking back to see everyone practically shaking as they clutched onto each other.

"Holy shit, are you ok?" Benny immediately questioned, grabbing onto my hands.

"That was awesome!" Bertram suddenly shouted, throwing his hands into the air.

"Awesome? Awesome. We nearly just died!" Kenny shrieked, widening his eyes as he looked at him in confusion.

"Yeah! That was like a ride or something" Bertram explained, clapping his hands as he cheered.

"Yeah no, theirs something definitely very wrong with you" Carrie chimed in, shaking her head disappointingly at the boy.

"You want too talk to my dad? He's a therapist, I'm actually really worried here for you" She continued, giving him a concerned look as she rubbed his shoulder.

"Shut up" Bertram muttered, crossing his arms with an eye roll.

"Are you ok?" Benny ignored them, asking me again as he gave me a very worried expression.

I slowly nodded before widening my eyes once I remembered the raccoon, quickly unbuckling my seatbelt and jumping out of the car.

Everyone looked to each other before immediately following behind once seeing me quickly leave.

I ran towards the back of the car immediately letting out a gasp once seeing the poor little thing on the ground.

"Oh...my god" My voice quivered, looking down at it with my eyes beginning to tear up.

"I'm a murderer!" I cried out, cupping my mouth too hold in a cry.

"Ew! Oh that is just gross!" Carrie gagged, covering her eyes once seeing the corpse.

I kneeled down feeling my legs suddenly go weak at the awful sight, covering my face as I continued to let out cries.

"Ugh ok I'm going to puke. Oh my-I can't even look at it" Carrie continued to gag, shaking her head as she slapped her hand over her eyes.

Wow I felt awful. My stupid driving and these stupid idiots I call my friends killed the poor little thing.

"Hey- hey? Baby don't cry it's just a raccoon at least it wasn't a person!" Benny placed a hand on my back as he slowly crouched down next to me.

"Just a raccoon? Are you an idiot! I'm never driving again!" I cried out, shaking my head.

"Well, you kind of have too....we still have to get to the beach. You can't just leave us stranded here!" Squints chimed in, throwing his arms up as he looked around.

"Shut up squints!" Everyone scolded, making him widen his eyes and quickly hold his hands up.

"Amora, it's ok. It's not you're fault, we were distracting you I'm sorry" Benny sighed, grabbing onto my hands lightly.

"Yeah Amora I'm way sorry. We were freaking you out. Right guys?" Carrie called out firmly, shooting the boys a look.

They all looked to each other, quickly nodding their heads, making her smile and nod in approval.

"Yeah cmon. This time..we'll shut up ok?" Kenny sighed, rubbing my back softly.

I slowly uncovered my face, looking up towards them as they all nodded in agreement towards his statement.

Benny slowly lifted me up, placing a kiss onto my forehead before helping me back into the car.

I rubbed my eyes continuing to let out soft sniffles, slowly beginning to calm down as I looked down at the wheel in front of me.

Geez, these hormones are making me majorly emotional?

"Oh..and thats my favorite animal too Benny?" I frowned, letting out a sniffle as I rested my forehead onto the wheel.

He cracked a small smile, shaking his head with a laugh. "Yeah, I know"

Slowly I pulled my head up, sighing as I wiped off my eyes and cheek before placing the key back into the ignition.

"You sure you can start driving? We can wait as long as you want until your ready?" Benny questioned, taking my hand into his.

"Actually..we kind of can't. I really have to pee-

"Squints!" Everyone shouted, angrily cutting him off.

I nodded, wiping a tear from my cheek before looking back to see everyone give me sympathetic smiles.

I sighed, turning back around and starting back up the car before driving off.
