Amora

"And then. He kissed me! Well on the cheek but whatever" I waved my hand, continuing my ramble.

"I know Amora, I was there!" Carrie laughed, holding up the mirror towards herself.

"Thank god those dorks didn't ruin everything! I'm super surprised he didn't run off!" I groaned, shaking my head with the reoccurring memory of the night.

"Well, I got some more shopping to do. I'll see you" I sighed, stopping and turning towards her.

"Alright, then you can tell me a million more times how he kissed you on the cheek right?" She placed the mirror back into her bag, laughing.

I rolled my eyes with a smile before waving at her and parting ways down the street.

——

I stepped out of the shop, groaning once I seen the sky had already began to darken.

I threw my shopping bags onto my arms, beginning to walk down the quiet sidewalk only hearing the sound of my heels clicking onto the concrete.

I looked around running my hand through my hair slowly, beginning to grow nervous at how dark it was.

I turned the corner passing another store, suddenly feeling myself bump into a hard chest sending me back.

I stumbled back and luckily caught myself, looking up to see an unfamiliar group of boys.

"Woah" one whistled, as they all snickered to each other looking me up and down.

I rolled my eyes angrily, scoffing at their behavior.

"I've never seen you around here before? Im Ryan" A brunette haired boy smirked, holding his hand out to me.

I glanced down at his hand, before shaking my head. "And I don't care" I muttered pushing his hand away, turning to walk around them.

"You're a fine looking babe aren't you?" Another boy asked, stepping in front of me.

"Yeah, and that's a nice looking necklace you got there?" A different boy added, pointing at my neck.

I looked down seeing the sparkly necklace that rested on my chest, before looking back up.

"Yeah! You're right it is boys!" Ryan smirked, beginning to play with a piece of my hair.

I scoffed again smacking his hand away, before taking a couple steps back.

"That's nice, maybe you boys should go buy it then?. Somewhere else" I turned to leave before getting stopped again.

"No, I think you should just give it to us right now? How does that sound" He smirked, titling his head slightly.

I stepped back seeing he stood really close in front of me before letting out a disbelieved laugh at his suggestion.

"Yeah, sorry no way" I shook my head, moving to walk away before getting stopped when they stepped closer to me.

"Oh, you guys cannot be serious right now!" I groaned, looking between them all and taking a step back.

They all looked to each other, letting out snickers at my statement."Dead serious toots" one of the boys replied.

I crossed my arms growing even more nervous, seeing them all still looking at me.

"No no! I can't!" I cried out, dropping my mouth into a frown.

"Just hand it over babe, and we'll let you go" Ryan piped up, gently moving a piece of hair away from my face.

I scoffed again, looking around seeing them still waiting as they looked at me in silence.

"You don't understand! This is a Tiffany's necklace!" I exclaimed, pointing at the piece wrapped around my neck.

"What the hell is that?" One of the boys spat, giving me a confused look.

"Ugh! It's like a totally important jewelry brand" I groaned, rolling my eyes as I explained.

"Exactly then! That thing will make us bank!" Ryan smirked, with the rest of them snickering after.

I dropped my arms, looking at each of them realizing they were really not leaving me anytime soon.

They all stared at me as Ryan gave me a serious look, perking up his eyebrows, motioning me too continue.

I let out defeated whines and cries as I closed my eyes, reaching back to unclip the necklace.

"Hey hey! What's going on?" A voice shouted, making me open my eyes to see Benny running over.

I watched as he stood in front of us, glancing at me before glaring towards the guys.

"Oh nothing man! Just having fun here with this little chick" Ryan snickered, reaching to caress my cheek.

"Yeah and that's enough" Benny pushed him back, now making me widen my eyes at the push.

"Hey- whats your deal man? It's not any of your business!" Ryan let out a breathy laugh, surprised from the hard shove, taking a step back.

"It is my business. Why don't you leave her alone?" Benny shot back, stepping closer.

My eyes flickered back and forth watching as they continued to shout at each other, before seeing Ryan get another hard shove shot towards his way.

"Alright alright bud! We don't even need that stupid thing anyways" Ryan spat, motioning towards me.

"Let's go!" He shouted angrily, looking back to his boys.

He gave us both a glare before turning away, as they all shook their heads and walked away.

I watched, waiting as they walked away far enough before finally bursting out.

"I can't believe those jerks!" I shrieked, with my eyes watching them continue to walk away in the distance.

"Are you ok? What happened!" Benny exclaimed, looking down at me widening his eyes.

"Those candy asses tried to steal my precious necklace! Can you believe the utter heart break I would have!" I exclaimed, throwing my hands into my hair as I paced around.

"Well are you ok? Did they hurt you or anything?" He continued to ramble with his questions, examining me for any damage.

"I'm fine I'm fine!" I groaned, pushing his hands away from me.

"Why are you even out here this late? It's pitch black out here you could get hurt!" Benny flailed his hands around, as he scolded me sternly.

"Geez I don't know dad, I guess I lost track of the time?" I sighed with a shrug, adjusting the bags on my arms before walking past him.

I looked around beginning to walk down the sidewalk, before slowly peering over my shoulder.

"Benny! What are you doing?" I furrowed my eyebrows, seeing him following behind me.

"Well I'm not letting you walk home alone? Especially not after that!" He explained, stuffing his hands in his pockets as he walked forward.

I rolled my eyes turning back ahead, before letting out a tired huff.

Moments later my pace slowed down, as I approached the familiar house. Letting out a wince once I noticed a light was on from the window.

I looked up at the house before clearing my throat and glancing over towards benny.

"Well, uh.. thanks" I breathed out, fiddling with my fingers, suddenly feeling awkward.

"It's fine, uh I'll see you.. tomorrow?" He rubbed the back of his neck shrugging it off, beginning to walk backwards.

I slowly nodded, making a small smile crack onto his face.

"Cool, uh I'll-

He was cut off when he bumped into the mailbox, making him stumble back a bit.

I shook my head, letting out a light sigh and rubbed my eyes tiredly.

"Sheesh watch it doofus" I sniffled a light laugh, shaking my head as he caught himself.

"Right. See you" he nodded, giving me a small wave before taking off.

I watched as he walked down the sidewalk, before shaking my head again and finally walking up the porch steps towards my door.
