The guys go inside

20:25, 29 April 2025

We had made it just in time to get Abel. Tara was glaring at us because she felt as if she was his mom. She attempted to kill her own kid and Jax doesn't trust her with Abel. She can glare all she wants. Happy did forewarn me to keep ahold of Madelyn, he didn't give me too many details; just to keep a tight hold on her and to enjoy the show.

Madelyn hugged and kissed Tig, told him to be safe as I wished him luck. I know that it was an order that came from his president, but with that I feel like he knew better. He should've paid attention, he shot a member's wife in the back of the head, fucking gang style.

We made our way over to Happy. He hugged Madelyn and dapped me up.

"So, Hap. Looks like you've got a goddaughter." Madelyn tells him with a giggle.

Happy goes pale, I never thought I'd see the Tacoma Killa look so scared. I've seen that motherfucker be tortured, shot, and stabbed. He's never looked the tiniest bit scared, and yet here he is looking terrified because he found out that he's going to have a goddaughter. I stare him down waiting for him to snap out of it.

"Oh fuck. We're gonna need more guns." Happy days as he recovers causing me to laugh.

"I've got an armory, brother. Trust me." I inform him. Madelyn slaps my chest playfully causing Happy to chuckle.

"Be safe in there, brother. Don't get yourself killed because of this bullshit." I whisper in his ear as we hug.

Leading us to this moment, I have my arms locked tightly around Madelyn, not enough to hurt our daughter; but tight enough that she can't run. The guys are all screaming at Jax calling him a rat. Oh wow they're really going for it huh. Stahl has a smug smirk glued to her face.

Madelyn is crying, Gemma is screaming at Clay and the guys that it was Stahl, that he had no choice. They load the guys up in the back of the van after cuffing them being sure to separate Jax from the others.

Then I observe the parking lot, it clicks that Opie, Piney, and Chibs aren't here. Madelyn attempts to comfort Gemma while I watch the prospects take off in a hurry. I have Abel in my arms who is half asleep. Tara is shooting daggers my way and I allow myself to take in everything as I hold my nephew.

Shortly after Gemma and Madelyn calm down, Tara comes marching up to me attempting to take Abel from my arms.

"He's my son. He's going home with me." She states viciously causing me to chuckle.

"Not happening. Madelyn has guardianship. He goes home with us. You aren't stopping us and if you had any sense, you'd get the fuck away from me." I growl out. She's visibly shaking with fear at that, yet she stays planted in her spot in front of me.

"He doesn't belong with either of you." She sneers

"Bitch if you know what's good for you, you'd back the fuck up." Madelyn pipes up.

Tara's head snaps towards Madelyn.

"I'm not going anywhere without my son." Tara says.

"You don't have a son. Abel isn't yours. He's mine. I have the documents that say so. Would you like me to call the cops or do you want me to fucking shoot you?" Madelyn states.

Tara runs out of there bumping into Opie. The remaining guys all follow in behind him.

"They're only doing 14 months. Jax didn't rat, it was planned. Stahl is dead." Opie tells us.

"Oh thank god." Gemma says as she lets out a gasp.

"You had the scan the other day. Do you know what you're having?" Opie asks looking between me and Mads.

"Leilani Jade Delaney." is the reply that escapes my mouth.

"Oh shit, we're gonna have to kill some fuckers. Especially if she looks like her mom." Opie says with a grin.

"Good thing that Happy is the other godfather." I state.

"Oh yeah. We got this shit in the bag." Opie says with a laugh.

"She's fucked, babe." Gemma tells Maddie.

"Oh yeah. Add in the fact Tig and Otto are her grandfathers. We're all fucked." Maddie says.

"Have you visited him?" Gemma questions.

"Yeah. Seen him before coming here. He has a few of the ultrasound pictures." I respond.

"That's good baby." Gemma replies.

Piney and Chibs join us at our table and begin talking. The prospects are hanging around doing their duties. Clay being gone definitely puts my mind at ease. This place actually feels comfortable without him hanging around. Clay Morrow reminds me of a human mixed version of pennywise and a fucked-up joker.

I just hope and pray that my best friend will make it out of prison alive. I know that the club pissed off the Russians. I can't focus on that though. My focus is on Madelyn, Abel, our pups, and our baby.

"Jax left you a letter, ma'am." Phil tells me.

"Don't call me ma'am." I respond before taking the letter.

I find myself walking into Jax's room, then sitting on his bed before opening it to read it. What shocked me the most was he was telling me to keep Abel. He wanted his son safe, happy, and healthy. He knew that Emmett and I wouldn't treat him any differently than our own.

I didn't notice anyone had entered the room until Ope sat down beside me and wrapped me up into a hug.

"He's doing what he feels is best." He says.

"I know that." I respond.

"It's not easy for him. He thought long and hard about it. He made that decision based on a lot of shit and most of that being the danger that is still to come. This life... Mads you know that it's gonna kill us. Emmett is different than me and Jax. He would pick you and the kids over anything especially this club. I couldn't do that for Donna or my kids. The way that shit is, is uh too complex for us. Getting out sounds good but what can we actually do outside of the club? We barely got our geds, we're halfassed mechanics." Opie says.

"You guys are so much more than that, Ope. You guys could change this shit." I tell him with tears in my eyes.

"I've gotta take care of Clay first. Before I even think about it." His voice comes out as a whisper, before he presses a kiss to my head and leaves.

Emmett comes inside with Abel and notices the tears on my face.

"What's wrong baby?" He asks but I don't feel like speaking so I hand him the letter. I watch as Emmett reads it and his eyes fill with tears as well.

"I didn't expect this." He says but his voice cracks.

"Let's head home." I tell him as I look at Abel in his arms.

Authors note: I did mention abortion and of course you heard Emmett's thoughts on the matter. However, I do not feel that way so please do not send me any hate. I feel it is up to that person. I don't have any feelings about what someone else does with their body. I only have control of my own.
