Chapter 13:

"What? Are you sure I don't look like a tool?" I heard Scott asking Kendall. Kendall had helped Scott out with picking something to wear, and we were currently at Kendall's apartment. I sat in the living room as Scott and Kendall bantered from the hall bathroom about which color Scott's shirt technically was. Scott said red, Kendall says maroon. I had gotten dressed in a long black dress I bought on Scott's bro-shopping spree with Kendall. The dress was high necked with black lace and came down to my shoulders showing off most of my tattoos. The dress it's self with out the laced top would be strapless and flowy from the waist down. Kendall had said I looked like a Rockstar, while Scott said I looked 'girlie'. My hair was down in soft waves down to my mid back, I had time to go get my hair done today, which really said something about how long Scott and Kendall took. I had the lady put a platinum blond streak near the front of my hair so it'd frame my face for when I wore it down like now, but I also got copper high lights. My make up was my usual, and my shoes were none other than my combat boots. Kendall couldn't get me to wear heels if it was the last day on earth, or our wedding day for that matter.

"You look fine!" Kendall yelled at Scott who slammed the bathroom door since Kendall had tossed something at him and walked out. He let out a breath as he smiled at me. He straightened his blazer and came towards me. "That guy has some issues." Kendall said sitting down next to me. I giggled and held out my hand.

"Of course. That's Scott for ya." I said. Kendall then examined my tattoos that were visible aside from the one he had already seen before which was hidden behind lace.

"'Everyday has the potential to be beautiful'...." Kendall read the tattoo on my left bicep. He then moved my arm to see my wrist where a black cross was. "I've never noticed this one. 'Faith is with me'. You're so inspirational." He teased. "I've only seen three." He says looking at me. I smiled and slipped off my combat boot and sock. I showed him my big feather fading into birds with 'there's a difference between the right way and the easy way'. He nodded in approval. "Four." He said smirking at me his eyes crinkling, truly enjoying what we were doing. I then flexed my right arm to show him my raven flying with music notes on the inside of my bicep. "Five." I showed him my right outer bicep showing him a pocket watch with 'time is the only constant'. "Six." I sighed for the next one. I reached up to the collar of my lace top and unzipped it enough and moved my hair. This was my most personal tattoo. 'Fearless' was right at my hair line almost, with 'mom' the date of her death and 'grandma&grandma' underneath my moms with the dates of their deaths each underneath their names. I quickly zipped it up as Kendall said "seven." I threw my hair over my shoulder, and smiled sadly at Kendall. "Still a mystery to me." He whispered speaking about me. I was a mystery to him. He maybe someone I've been seeing everyday for awhile, but yet he was still lost in how I functioned and thought. That was cute.

Kendall then leaned his hand on my knee and leaned his head to mine as I gripped his jacket bringing him closer. Our lips moved in sync as I let him take the wheel. He gently pushed me down to where he was on top of me as I laid on his couch. We kissed for what seemed like hours as Kendall's jacket had made its way off and his button down had been unbuttoned. Even knowing Scott was changing in the other room, I knew I wanted Kendall. His lips, his grunts, and sighs all drove me crazy. My breathing increased as I began feeling like my lungs were going to collapse. He must've been the same way. We pulled back and looked in one another's eyes. In that moment, his leg next to mine, his bare chest illuminated in the moon light casting down from his living room window, his hands in my hair and resting on my cheek, I knew, I was in love with him. It was a short moment, but it was the best moment in my life. I wasn't going to question anything he wanted if anything he needed. I also wasn't going to question doing anything for him. He was going to be mine. I was going to be his. He then stood up, buttoned his shirt, and put his jacket back on. I laid on the couch a moment catching the breath which was no longer within me. Kendall then held out a hand and sat me up. I smiled up at him after his kissed the top of my head.

"Hold on real quick babe." Kendall told me holding up a finger running into the hall by the door where Scott had been the last fifteen minutes. Kendall knocked on the door on his way back to where I think his bedroom was. "Hurry up bro!" Kendall yelled. Scott flung open the door and looked around only seeing me on the couch. He walked out and motioned to his attire. I nodded holding up a thumbs up, mainly because I couldn't speak just yet. Kendall was back, holding the red box that was attached to the lilies earlier, yet I hadn't noticed him grabbing it before we left. He came over and sat next to me on the couch. "Here, Bobby, for you." He smiled. I took the red box and opened it. Sparkle and shine was all I could see. It was beautiful. The necklace was perfectly polished and... Expensive. The chain was a delicate smooth silver, and what clung to it was a beauty in it's own. The chain slowly changed into stick looking silver, almost like stems fading into blood red roses made of what I'm guessing was rubies. Man, he was a big spender when it came to me, yet he lived a simple lifestyle. The necklace was so beautiful as I actually felt tears well up in my eyes. "Bobby, Roberta Winona Adams, will you...."
