4 days later

"Rick! Carl!" I screamed out."Carl! Rick! Rick! We- we have to go get them!" Michonne panicked.

"Go! Run!" I heard Carl yell, walkers surrounding him and rick.

"H-hey! Over here! We're over here! Come over here!" I shouted, pointing my gun in the air and shooting into the sky to try and get the walkers attention.

"Get out of here! You have to go!" Ricks voice echoed.

"No, no!" I went to run, but felt arms grab me and hold me still."No! Let me go!" I cried, fighting against the force, tears streaming down my face as I watched Carl and rick being swarmed by walkers.

"Nurses office." I pointed in front of Carl and I, a door that clearly read 'nurses office'.

We currently were searching a old high school that I actually was supposed to go to but then the world turned to shit.

I reached for the knob, but the door was locked. I tried to pull it open again, but there was no hope.

"I got it." Carl playfully bumped my hip, scooting me aside. He pulled his knife out and stuck the tip of the blade in the lock hole.

He moved the knife around until we heard a clicking noise. Carl turned the knob and opened the door.

"Ladies first." He stepped aside, motioning me to go in."Why? You scared?" I played back, walking inside, pointing my gun.

I checked around the room for any dead ones."Clear." I put my gun down.

"I'll check the cabinets you check under the bed and the drawers." I told Carl."Got it."

I opened the cabinets on the top first, finding nothing but dust and empty boxes. I crouched, searching the cabinets on the floor.

I opened one and there was absolutely nothing in it. I opened another, seeing a box of bandages. I grabbed it, opening it and seeing bandages in it."Hey, I found bandages." I looked over my shoulder at Carl.

"Is that some sort of eye joke you want to make but are too afraid to actually say it." Carl sarcastically chuckled.

"No, it's not." I smiled, tossing the bandages at him. He caught them, chuckling again and looking at me.

"I miss your smile." Carl set the bandages on the counter next to him.

"Yeah." My smile faded and I continued to look throughout the cabinets.

"Antibiotics." I said, tossing them to Carl.

"Peroxide." Carl informed me.

We searched the room until there was absolutely nothing else to search."Three things. Not bad." I put the supplies in the little bag that I had.

"Yeah, not bad... let's go check some class rooms maybe even the actual office part." Rick, Aaron and Michonne were along with us, but they were in a whole different building.

"Okay, you want me to lead the way?" I questioned, standing in front of him."Go ahead, but neither of us really know where we're going." Carl grinned, pinching my left cheek with his index finger and thumb.

"That's true." I admitted with the tiniest smile.

"I really miss your smile." He sighed, his happiness no longer showing."There's just not much to smile about anymore." I mumbled.

Carl breathed out heavily, his shoulders slumping. He leaned forward and placed a kiss on my forehead.

"I love you, Alexa. I really do." He sounded like he was giving up on trying to make me happy and honestly I don't blame him.

"I love you, too, Carl." I knew he wasn't happy with me. He knew it was hard for me to express any feeling except anger or sadness.

"I know... let's just go check the rest of this building." Carl walked out of the nurses office. I huffed to myself and followed him out.

Our footsteps were nearly silent, our eyes looking for any threat.

"Alright, lets check these rooms." I pointed at the line of doors.

I don't really know what could be stored in a school that may be useful to us, but rick insisted that we check anyway.

Carl turned to the first room on the left and pushed it open. Inside was exactly what I expected. Scattered desks, ripped pages, and blood.

Probably when it started the kids who thought about doing something did something.

Or maybe someone camped out here awhile ago.

Ripped pages crinkled under our feet as we cautiously stepped around, observing the room.

"It's sad." Carl spoke, still looking around.

"The kids here were probably scared. Now they're most likely dead." I muttered, looking at the empty bookshelves and ripped up walls.

"I'll search the teachers desk, search the closets and like behind the book shelves and stuff. Maybe people hid things." Carl instructed.

I nodded before walking to the closet door and opening it.

Teachers closets were always so big.

I walked inside, turning my flash light on.

There were books that looked like they had never been touched. There were stacks of paper and school supplies.

I walked through the racks, looking on each shelf briefly. I stood in the middle of the room, turning slowly as my eyes scanned the room.

"There's just books and stacks of papers." I said loudly enough for Carl to hear.

"Check in them, they might have something in it."

I sighed and grabbed the stacks of papers, dropping them on the floor, causing them to scatter.

Nothing.

"This is useless." I stated."Stop being such a downer and look." I heard Carl chuckle.

I grabbed a book and flipped through the pages. Nothing.

I did that with a few more, my impatience growing to an extreme.

I dropped the book on the floor and swiped the rest off of the shelf, causing them to slam to the ground.

I heard a different noise hitting the ground. Carl was right. He was smart.

I crouched onto the floor and picked up each book. I had picked up the last one and a gun fell out. A glock 19 semi automatic.

My brows furrowed, my hand reaching for it and I picked it up.

I checked the clip, it was fully loaded. I smiled lightly and put the clip back in.

"Carl, you were right." I stood up and walked out of the closet, holding the gun up.

"Yeah, I know." Carl showed me a colt m1911 with a smile.

"Carl, Alexa, we need to leave right now! The front of the school is surrounded in walkers and the fence in the back is about to break. Meet us in the back, now!" Ricks voice came through the walkie talkie.

What the hell?

Oh shit. The fence we passed earlier.

"We can't go in through the back... look." Aaron pointed.

I followed his finger with my eyes, seeing a fence that held walkers behind it.

There were so many of them. How the hell did they get there?

Someone must've been staying here and tried to keep them out.

"Let's work fast."

"Come on, come on." Carl held his arms out to me. I took his hands, stepping out of the window and onto the little roof thing where rick, Michonne and Aaron were.

Carl's hands helped me down, getting me to our people.

I could hear the fence snapping, it slowly breaking apart.

"Okay, you're gonna have to crawl on that beam and jump over the other fence and run as fast as you can. Get out of here." Rick told us.

"Get going-" as rick started talking, the fence crumbled to the floor, carelessly being stepped all over by the rotted corpses.

"Shit, go!" Carl pulled his gun out as the walkers stumbled towards us.

Michonne first walked across, jumping over and running a few feet away.

"Aaron, go." I tapped his back. Aaron hopped on, carefully tightrope walking the small beam. As he was, it made creaking noises and that grabbed my attention.

The cheap, old, rusted metal was barely going to last. I watched Aaron so he could make it across safely.

He made it to the fence and hopped over, meeting with Michonne.

"Carl, come on-""Not until you go." He shook his head. There was no time to argue.

Rick started shooting the walkers that got too close, their hands reaching for our flesh.

"Alexa, go!" Rick yelled.

I just hopped up and slowly walked on the beam. I struggled to keep my balance considering the walkers that crowded underneath the beam, their hands trying to rip at my flesh.

All the hands pulling on the beam and my weight caused enough strength to break the beam, making me to slip. I screamed, my reflexes acting quickly by grabbing onto the part of the beam that was still barely hanging on.

It was at a slant, my hands nearly slipping.

"Alexa!" Carl, Michonne, Aaron AND rick all called out in fear. Carl and rick started shooting his gun at the walkers under- Well more around me now.

I felt decomposed limbs grabbing onto my body. Thanks to my fathers jacket and my jeans, I wasn't getting scratched and surprisingly bitten, they were shooting at the right time.

I used my legs to kick some back, trying to buy myself some time to pull myself up.

My hands started to get clammy and slipping. I whined in fear, trying to get up as I was being pulled down.

"Go now, you have time!" Rick informed me.

I grunted as I pulled myself up, reaching to the fence and barely catching onto it. I used all my strength to pull me up and over, my body falling onto the ground on the safe side, but as I grabbed onto the fence, the beam had completely snapped off and was lost into the sea of the dead.

Michonne and Aaron ran to my rescue, helping me up and quickly getting me away.

Once I recovered, I turned around, watching rick and Carl.

"Come on!" I shouted. Once I yelled that, I realized they had no way to get over. The beam was broken.

Shit.

"They- they can't." Michonne had also realized this."Fuck, no no." Aaron hissed.

The roof thing we were standing on was cheap metal and would break at any time."They can't get out." I whispered.

As I said this, more walkers piled in on them.

"We- we can- we can-" Michonne stuttered as she tried to think of something to help get them out.

Then I heard a snap and 2 yells. My eyes widened as one of the support pillars broke, causing the metal roof thing to go to a sudden slope, slipping them off.

It got about 20 of their attention, them tripping and trudging their way over.

"Get then out of here Aaron!" Ricks voice echoed.

"No, no!" I went to run, but felt arms grab me and hold me still."No! Let me go!" I sobbed, fighting against the force, tears streaming down my face as I watched Carl and rick being swarmed by walkers.

Not again.

Not Rick. Not Carl.

I couldn't lose Carl, too.

"Come on, we have to go." Aaron and Michonne grabbed onto me. I knew it killed Michonne to do this.

Her tears fell, as well as mine.

I sobbed and sobbed, fighting against their strength as I could no longer see rick or Carl in the swarm.

My heart was ripped to shreds, probably like their skin right now.

The thought of it even gave me a sickening feeling.

"Let me go! P-Please!" I almost fell, but Michonne and Aaron held me tight enough to catch me.

"W-we have to go. Come- come on, honey." Michonne weeped into my ear.

I let out a scream cry as they pulled me away from the scene.

Rick and Carl didn't deserve this.

Oooo do they die or do they live????
