Chapter 12: Are we there yet?

Ugh, it has been a whole week since I've updated, I'm sorry. Ninth grade is kinda harder then I expected, but yeah yeah.

Once again, Lucy was attached to the cell wall. All of her limbs felt numb and tingly, even the parts of her limbs that weren't covered by the slime, like the top of thighs and her shoulders. Everything hurt, and she had kind of given up on trying to break free. At the moment her clothes were tattered from trying to break free. She had also lost her sense of time. As before, there was still no window, so it could easily be in the middle of the night. She didn't even know how long time had passed.

Haichi and Delora had fed her when she should eat, and the French toast and baked beans were replaced with disgusting canned food. Either it was mashed potatoes or really old, stewed meat. It looked the same. It was probably a punishment for not cooperating voluntarily.

Her thoughts couldn't keep her entertained, because... what should she think of? She had barely knowledge from a whole week. She could only think of the guild and Team Natsu, but those thoughts had died out. They were entertaining at first. The guild, with all of the noise, laughter and smiles. It had made her smile. Just a little, because she was too tired to smile. Though she was just hanging from a wall, she had to tense all of her muscles to hang straight. It was too uncomfortable the other way.

The opposite concrete wall began to melt again.

Here we go again. Lucy thought, and rolled her eyes.

"Good morning, Lucy-san!" Haichi exclaimed as she walked into the cell, Delora walking close to her. In Delora's right hand she had the usual canned food. The label was ripped off so she wouldn't know what she ate.

"Haichi, you weren't supposed to say what time it is," Delora said, and Lucy could tell, that she tried to sound sweeter. It didn't quite succeed. "Master Zeref told us that she weren't supposed to know that."

Haichi pouted and crossed her arms. "Gomene, Delora-chan," she mumbled. She then smiled at Lucy and took the canned food out of Delora's hands. "Let's get you fed up, shall we?"

Lucy sighed, not willing eat. She had both lost her lust to eat and her appetite. She really just wanted to sleep, though she slept through the most of the day. She was completely drained of energy.

"I think I'll pass the breakfast today," Lucy muttered, her eyes feeling heavy. "I'm not really in the mood for canned-whatever that is." Haichi pouted, and lowered the can a bit.

"I'm tired of this," Delora exclaimed and grabbed the can from Haichi's hand. She ripped off the lid and shoved a spoon into the mosh. "Master Zeref ordered us to feed you and keep you alive! So because of that-" she lifted the spoon with the mosh on, in Lucy's mouth direction. "You're going to eat!" She shoved the spoon into Lucy's mouth, and she nearly choked on it. She coughed, and grimaced when the awful taste spread in her mouth.

"Aw, be gentle, Delora-chan," Haichi exclaimed, sweetly. "The poor girl doesn't even know what she's eating!"

"Look," Delora said, sighing. "We have to keep you alive, and since you don't approve that, you give us no choice." 

In the corner of Lucy's eyes, tears appeared. She didn't want to die. She wanted to be with Fairy Tail. She wanted her memories. She wanted to be free from that prison.

"W-Why... am I the sacrifice?" Lucy asked, getting another spoonful shoved into her mouth.

Delora and Haichi exchanged looks. To Lucy's surprise, they were actually considering telling her. She waited in excitement. Delora looked up, her face calm.

"Okay, we'll tell you," she said, and Lucy's face lit up like a Christmas three. "Because I pity you... or mostly in your current state." Lucy sweatdropped over Delora's smirk.

"Well, Master Zeref can do many extraordinary thing," Delora started out, shoving a few more spoonful into Lucy's mouth. "In a dream, he saw a vision of an old attempt on bringing chaos to the world. I believe you were sacrifice there too...?" Lucy looked confused. "Oh, well, I guess you don't remember. So, Master Zeref have always wanted to world in that exact way, disorder. He wanted to bring chaos to the world, his own way. He needs you to complete that."

Lucy blinked in confusion. So much information, but none of it made any sense. She just had so many new questions.

"That's a great story," Lucy said, sarcastically, which made Delora shove another spoonful in. After she swallowed it, she continued. "But that still doesn't explain why I am the sacrifice."

"So impatient," Delora sighed, giving the empty can to Haichi. "In those dreams Master Zeref also saw the chosen one, as he calls it. The chosen one is the same one as for over seven years ago. It's you. You may not remember it, but you were in the exact same position for over seven years ago! This time, I'm sorry to say, you are not walking out of here, alive." The last word made Lucy swallow in fear.

"So..." Lucy whispered as tears appeared in the corners of her eyes. "You two are just going to stand here and watch while the world is getting... destroyed?"

"Well," Haichi said. "It aren't getting destroyed... It's just becoming different from what it used to be." She ended her sentence with a smile. It didn't calm Lucy down, though. She hadn't even considered what death was like, because she just entered this wonderful world. The three words coming up when she thought of death was dark, cold and alone. Three negative words.

"Plus, it's not our world," Delora added. "We're just here because we owe Master Zeref." Lucy just frowned at her.

"Oh, don't look so gloomy," Haichi said when she saw Lucy's unwanted frown. "We gotta go know, have a nice day!" Nice? Yeah, not really.

Hachi and Delora left the room, and the wall repeated itself again. Lucy tried one last time to break free, but as she pulled she let out a cry of pain. Afterwards she gave up, and went back to sleep. She was both exhausted and sad, so sleeping was great option. For now. _______________________________________________________________________________

"A-Are we there... yet?" Natsu whimpered. The rescue team was again on the way. And as usual they were travelling via train. A travelling from that neither Natsu nor Gajeel approved. Natsu had curled up in a ball on one seat, so Wendy could sit on the other one, while Gajeel had laid his head on Levy's lap on another seat, as she stroked his forehead. Lucy had taught her that it comforts Natsu, so she chose to check it out herself. It worked.

"Well, since this train is driving so much faster than the usual trains does," Levy said. "I would say about three hours more. And then we're walking the rest. Which takes about a day."

"I just want... to save her..." Natsu squeaked, hugging Happy so tightly that the poor exceed was about to choke.

"We all want that, Flame-brain," Gray matter from the seats on the other side of the aisle. "We just have to figure out how. And we don't even know what Elimar wanted with Lucy... and if Zeref is involved in this."

"Yeah, what was that all about?" Erza said. She was sitting beside Juvia, because Gray had begged her to. Gray sat beside the sleeping Loke. They let him sleep to regain his energy. He was weirdly weak, but it was also his third day in the human world.

"Well, that was what Lucy told me after Elimar tried to manipulate her," Gray said, putting a hand to his chin. "He tried to convince her to believe that it was actually Zeref who had taken her memories.

“Maybe it means something," Juvia muttered. Erza, Levy and Gray looked surprised at Juvia "Or maybe Elimar just needed someone to blame for it, so he could earn Love-riv... Lucy's trust."

"I must say, Juvia," Gray said, slightly smirking. "You actually said something pretty smart right there." Juvia's eyes then turned into hearts and she smiled bright.

"Gray-sama acknowledges me..." she whispered, loud enough for Gray to hear it. He then sweatdropped, as Erza giggled.

"Well, whether he's just using Zeref as a bait or not," Erza said. "We have to be extra careful. We still don't know what magic power Elimar uses."

They were all silent after that comment. What magic did Elimar use? No one of them had ever seen any of that magic - not even Levy! 

The only sounds that interrupted the silence was Natsu and Gajeel's endless moans and groans. It quite entertained Gray, which made both Natsu and Gajeel want to slap him, if they could.

After twenty minutes of silence Loke began to wake up. But only because his sleep was disturbed by someone blonde. _______________________________________________________________________________

Lucy was half asleep. Her brain was awake while body was relaxing in a sleep-like state. She had gotten an idea. Though she didn't have her keys, she should be able to contact the spirit world, right? She was a Celestial Wizard after all. Natsu had taught her the meaning of the word Celestial Wizard, though she had taught him the meaning before she lost her memories. Contact with the heavens. She should be able to contact her spirits without her keys.

But even if she could contact them, how would they help her? She dropped her keys in the forest when Elimar captured her.

She shook the negative thoughts of her, and began, with all of her might and a little more, to contact the spirits.

Her face was contracted, due to her concentration. She didn't even know what to think at, it just came by itself.

All the pictures of her Celestial Spirits popped up in her head, though she had never seen them after her awakening. Their faces all looked so comforting, even the mermaid-looking one, who glared annoyed at her. They were all some of her dearest friends. And she knew that.

In her head, she was floating in mid-air. All of her spirits were surrounding her.

"C-Can any of you help me?" Lucy asked, looking around at the many spirits she possessed.

"Lucy," a familiar voice said from behind of her. Loke. "In the real world I'm on a train with some of the people from Fairy Tail."

"Is Natsu there?" Lucy asked, hopeful.

Loki smirked and adjusted his glasses. "Yes, he's there too. Can you tell us what is going on?"

"Yeah, well," Lucy began. "This is a really long story!" _______________________________________________________________________________

"I got news from Lucy!" Loke exclaimed as he woke up. The whole rescue team was starring at him in confusion, even Natsu and Gajeel. Loke was panting as if he had just ran a marathon. He looked both shocked and scared, so Gray put a comforting hand on his shoulder.

"What do you mean?" Levy asked, shocked over Loke's current state.

"Lucy... figured out a way to contact us spirits," Loke whispered, looking down at his hands. "She told me... the whole story."

"T-Then tell us!" Natsu insisted, trying to sit up straight, but failed.

"Zeref is involved!" Loke said. Everybody either gasped or just looked completely shocked. "He is gonna use her as a sacrifice... just like seven years ago. He wants to bring chaos back to the world, just like Nightmare did. He's... just better at it."

The whole rescue team was paralyzed in shock as Loke told about Elimar, Haichi and Delora, from the other worlds.

"They are keeping her in a small cell, attached to a wall." Loke completed. Natsu finally sat up straight, with the help from Wendy and both of the exceeds. Happy were currently holding him up, so he didn't fall back.

"T-That bastard," Natsu muttered. "I won't... let him do this to Lucy. I won't hesitate to kill him. He deserves... it." First the others looked shocked, but their faces calmed as they nodded, understanding Natsu's anger.

Natsu smirked through his motion sickness. "I'm all fired up...!" And then he fell back down on his seat, and curled up in a ball. _______________________________________________________________________________

Will the rescue team make it before Lucy is going to be sacrifised?
