He trailed his slightly rough hands up and down the skin of my thighs. Our clothes ruffled against each other, touch increasing the rapid breaths that escaped our mouths every time we pulled away. When we went back in for more. And when my chest pressed further into his.

My fingertips dug into his tatted biceps, reluctant, yet filled with excitement. His lips were as soft, kissable, and skilled as every dream proposed. The apprehensive caution present before aired out through the cracked window. It felt shattered like the pieces of glass on the floor.

I let his hands grasp my waist, his grip squeezing my body like he meant to release the frustration from my body. The almost touchable stress flew like a cool breeze around us, and it forced chills up my spine.

Harry's skin was warm and smooth, the swirls of ink barely traceable. I let my mouth part lightly against his, and influenced his tongue to slip skillfully through my lips. I skimmed my hands up his shoulders, slowly tracing a path up to his neck.

With my legs still wrapped around his waist like previously, I felt him press his hands to the very low of my back. The more furiously our lips moved, the quicker the temperature would rise. Harry destroyed his anger with his kiss, and for once I found the strength to let my own frustration dissolve for just a little while.

He made no other move other than kissing me. I could not deny myself the feel of his lips and touch. For such an abrupt way of showing affection, the attempt was fulfilling.

"I'll never understand," he breathed heavily onto my lips as he spoke. My eyes were closed until seconds later when he made no other move to lock our lips again. I fluttered them open with nervousness and the slight churn in my stomach and the heat on my cheeks from embarrassment.

The pale green in his eyes locked with my own. I relaxed myself a little. I inhaled deeply and thoroughly. My hands moved against the skin of his tatted neck slightly, feeling a little more of his heavenly skin.

"Why did you kiss me?" I asked quietly, fearful of his answer. If it was going to hurt, I wanted to know now rather than be hurt by bringing my hopes up through the time.

Harry, as usual, frowned. With a hard stare, he lowly said, "Because it felt like the moment to do it. Why it felt that way, I'm not sure."

"You're very abrupt." I whispered. "Kissing me after I nearly took off your head with one of my high heels seemed like the right moment?"

"I didn't know what else to do, Catalina," Harry persisted. I swallowed down my embarrassment when he leaned into my face again. "You keep pushing me to my limits." His tongue poked out from his reddened lips and slid over them, coating them in moisture. He clenched his jaw afterwards and remained unfazed.

I didn't answer as he started pulling away and moving away from my body. My legs dropped from his waist when he soothingly removed them from his waist, not before letting his hands explore the skin for a second time.

Harry looked into my eyes quite deeply. "Don't throw shit at me again."

When I never opened my mouth to speak, Harry's hand reached up and took a grip on my chin. I snapped my eyes away from his, only making him hum and asked, "Is that clear enough?"

"You deserved it," I tested softly.

He frowned deeper and let his lips graze mine a little. I swooned in my mind for his lips, but at the same time wanting to push him away. I give up too easily. "I did," is all he said, to my surprise.

I shook my head and sighed heavily. "I'll never understand us."

"I don't want to." He replied, locking his mouth with mine once more for a short time. "I don't want to understand." He murmured against my lips. "Maybe it's just better that way." Harry rasped out.

I suppose he was right. There are other things on my mind; other things in the way. Much more important things. It would be better if we didn't give it any thought. Save those issues for later because there were already enough.

Harry dropped his hand from my chin and lowly rasped, "Come back downstairs with me and let's figure this out, Dollface."

"So, now you want my help?"

"Don't fight me," he warned lowly.

        "Alright."

Then it was back to work --- maybe act like nothing happened -- but in the back of our minds there was something different in the air. As cheesy as this sounds, in a world where my own fairy tale, and hopeless romantic fantasies didn't exist. It was all about guns, violence, relocation, and endless people I had faint memories of by now.

Harry was the only person I've spent way more than two weeks with. It just goes to show that both of us don't do very well together, and now that we both felt somewhat relieved, it was different. It would either get better or worse at this point. God only knows which.

"Pass me that file over there," he said, and I reached behind me for the paper. Again, they were spread everywhere and we sat next to one another, quickly going through files.

I sighed heavily and rubbed my eyes as he examined the piece of paper. As he did so, I glanced down at the arm where his wound was. I grew curious and lifted his sleeve up slightly on his arm, pressing my hand lightly to his skin, right above the wrapped bandage.

"Is it feeling better at least?" I asked him, and realized he had been looking at me since the second I had placed a finger on him.

Harry nodded and turned away to the paper. "I suppose."

        "Are you sure?" I persisted.

        He sighed. "Yes. Now, --"

Something began to ring. At first, it stunned me so I barely had the decency to even give it thought. I frowned deeply and stood with Harry, both of us looking for the phone now that had been probably tossed to the floor in the previous commotions.

I searched for the sound, and found it soon underneath Harry's desk. I crouched down and handed it to Harry.

It stopped when he answered it. Immediately, he put it on speaker. I remained silent next to him, staring down at the device and refraining from saying anything.

        "Hello?" A voice quickly asked.

        Harry frowned. "Zayn?"

"Harry, fuck. Are you guys alright? I overheard their plans. About the shooting. They left because you took down at least three of their men of the five. They're coming back in a few hours. You've got to get Catalina out of that country right now, Harry," Zayn quickly explained.

"What? I just got shot in the arm, but I'm fine. Catalina is unharmed. But, are you and Liam still captive or?" Harry questioned, looking at me with his frowning, angry expression. I stared back, still listening to Zayn's alert, fast voice.

There was a pause before a heavy sigh was heard. "We're still in some damn apartment. They haven't done shit to us so far, because they already knew you were in Brazil with Catalina. I doubt they won't use us at a point, however."

"How much time do you have?" I abruptly asked Zayn.

"Catalina?" Zayn questioned before obviously knowing it was me. "I'm glad you guys are alright. I can't communicate with anyone else at the moment. I've got just enough time to explain to you guys what you need to know."

"What is it?" Harry inquired lowly.

Zayn breathed. "You need to get Catalina out of Brazil right now. We've shut down in over five countries at the moment, one of them includes then one you're in right now. You need to find Ray in New York. He's the only other guy I trust right now."

There was no turning back now, I suppose. Harry ran a hand through his hair and sighed out, "What do you mean he's the only other one you trust?"

"Our own men can't be trusted as of right now. Don't trust anyone but Ray. You can't go for back up and you certainly can't give away your location to any of them. So be aware of that and be careful. I hate to say this, but you're on you're own until Liam and I find a way out of here."

That was all we needed to know. Where we were heading now; New York. This had to happen as fast as possible, no questions asked. Harry hung up the phone, smashed it into pieces as if to destroy any evidence, and then we both began to rush and pack our things.

I threw clothes after clothes into the suitcases without giving it much mind on how they would wrinkle or how unfolded they were. Harry stood at the doorway waiting for me to finish. I frantically began to zip the one suitcase up and picked it up from the bed.

Harry placed a gun in his back pocket, clenching his jaw tightly as he sprinted down the stairs. I shuffled the papers and placed them in a pile for Harry to take. He did so and folded them, shoving them underneath his arm and picking up his suit case. Even still, he showed no sign of pain for his wound.

"Are you ready, Dollface?" He asked as we settled in the car, our luggage thrown to the back seat.

I put my seat belt on swiftly, locking my eyes with his a second after. "Ready as I'll ever be."

He looked through the rear view mirror, and turned as he began to back out of the driveway. The house, from outside, looked like the mess it was from the inside. Everything we left behind was a disaster. This just goes to prove that statement to another level.

note// not the best chapter i've written, but i can't wait to move onto New York ;)
