Chapter 4: Finding Him

Zara's POV

After we had Gene held down, curtesy of my brothers, I called Lucinda.

"That's a Potion alright," she says. "But not a Forever Potion. Just a control potion. It has the same effects it did on me, Aphmau, and Zane, but not permanently."

I nod.

"Could Zara snap him out of it? Using her controlling talent?" Aphmau asked.

"She probably could. Zara, wanna try it?" Max asked me.

I nod. I walk over and stare into Gene's evil green eyes. he's fighting, trying (and failing) to get Garroth and Vylad off him.

"Gene, Snap out of it. Stop being under the potion's control. Now." I command.

His eyes turn white, then back to their beautiful blue color.

"Thanks Zara," he says.

"No problem Gene," I say, forcing a smile. "Garroth, Vylad, let him go."

They do. Gene sits up and rubs his head.

"So, what does Tristan want with my brother?!" I ask, a little too harshly.

"All I know is that he wants people who have unusual abilities," Gene said. "He wants the abilities for himself."

"Then why didn't he just take me!?" I pick up something random and throw it out the window.

"Woah, calm down big sis," Vylad says, running over. "Everything's going to be fine."

"No, it won't! They kidnapped my brother!" I shout as my eyes turn red. Garroth gasps but I don't care.

Vylad comes and hugs me. After a minute, my eyes go back to normal and I hug him back. I start to cry.

"He means the world to me..." I say to Vylad.

"I know sis. Don't worry, we're going to get him back."

Narrator POV (With Zane!)

Zane sits, tied to a chair, still gagged. He's clinging to the hope that someone will come for him.

Ivy comes in. Her eyes are green, and she has an evil smile on her face.

"Hi Zane," she says nastily. "How are you feeling?"

She takes off Zane's gag.

"You won't get away with this!" he shouts. (Cliche much?) "My friends will come for me Ivy!"

"Oh, but I think I will," Ivy says, twirling her hair. "Do you really think your so-called friends are going to come for you?"

Zane hesitates. This is what he's been worrying about.

"Your "friends" are probably celebrating now that you're gone. They never liked you. I talked to Garroth in high school, he never liked you. And your sister, she's so popular she doesn't need you. As for Aphmau, she doesn't like you now that she has Aaron," Ivy bends down and smiles at Zane. She pulls out more duct tape and cuts a piece. "You're stuck here, and soon Brother will have all he needs to finish his project."

She places the duct tape over Zane's mouth again and leaves.
