16. Together again

~Lockwood's P.O.V.~

Its been 8 months and Lucy and I have decide to be together again. She has really showed that she loves me and that she wants to be with me again. Lucas and Evie are official now and they go on lots of dates.

Jake, well, Jake is still Jake but he has accepted that Im his father now. Well, I have been his father this whole time but he still believes that Kipps is his biological father.

George and Holly are super excited, they're having another baby, they don't want to find out if its a girl or a boy but if its a boy they're apparently naming him Anthony and if its a girl, they'll name her Melody. I'm hoping its a girl.

"Hey, Lockwood, can we go to the store later? I need to get some things" Lucy says from the restroom. "What, yeah" I tell her.

She walks into the room and sees the journal and pen on my hands. "What are you writing?" She asks, coming closer. "Nothing" I say softly and put the journal inside the bedside table.

She glares at me playfully and goes back into the restroom, "what things do you need to get?" I ask going after her. "Just.........things" she says and hides her smile.

"Mmh" I moan as I hug her from behind and look into her eyes through the mirror. "You sure you cant tell me" I smile and she shakes her head "its a secret" she laughs.

"Ima go make breakfast" I say after a while of failing to convince her to tell me.

"Dad!" Evie yells "yes?" I ask asshe comes into the kitchen. "Dad, can you take Lucas and I to the mall later?" She asks and I sigh.

"Evie, please ask your mother. You know I hate going to the mall" I tell and she walks around the counter. She places her hands on my shoulders and peaks her head from the side.

"But you're my favorite" she says and gives me the puppy eyes. "Fine" I sigh and a smile that reminds me of my own appears on her face, "thanks" she says and runs out of the kitchen.

A while later Jake comes in "hey, can you set up the plates on the table?" I ask and he nods. He takes 7 plates and cups and places them neatly on the table.

I notice his big smile and ask "What's going on?", no matter what he says he's usually always in a bad mood. "Umm, I....... I got a girlfriend" he finally says.

"Congrats" I say and hug him from the side, "yeah" he smiles "when are you presenting her to us?" I ask and he shrugs.

"She told me she wants it to be a secret. She hasn't told her parents" he says and I shake my head "I'm sorry son but you have to break up with her" I say and he shakes his head "no but he thinks everyone will judge him!" He yells.

"He?" I ask and he turns to run but I get a grip on his arm. "Dad, I really like him. And I'm sorry if you don't approve of it, but I don't care!" He yells and a few tears fall from his eyes.

"Jake! Why on earth would you ever think that I wouldnt approve" I yell "because" he says. I kneel down infront of him and place my hands on his shoulders so I can see him better, "you're my son. I wouldn't ever disapprove of you. If you like boys, then that's fine. I want you to be happy" I say. He moves quickly and hugs me tight, I hug him back as tight and don't let go for a few minutes.

I pull him back and he has teary eyes, "come on, dont cry, you'll make me cry too" I joke and a small smile appears on his face. "Go call everyone to come down and eat" I tell him and he walks away.

"Guys, we're going on a vacation next week, all of us" I say to them and they all cheer. "Today though, us parents are going to the movies. You children are going to the playground or something" I say and Jake nods excitedly.

"Actually can Lucas and I umm......" "We're going on a date" Lucas finishes for Evie. Holly and Lucy smile. "That would be nice but who would take care of Jake?" I ask and Evie frowns.

"Ooh, I know!" Holly yells in excitement "you two guys can go to the movies and have bro time. Us 2 ladies can got to the park with Jake and them 2 children can go on their date" Holly says and Evie nods quickly.

"Okay, okay" I sigh and Evie shares a look with Lucas, "well at least we can watch a movie we actually like" George adds and Holly slaps his chest playfully.

When Evie and Lucas are about to kiss I say "So is everyone finished with their plates?" I ask and Lucas and Evie's moment is ruined.

Woops. I begin to gather the plates to start washing them, once I'm finished I go upstairs and find Lucy puting makeup on.

"Who wears makeup to the park?" I ask and she laughs, "someone who cares about their appearance". I chuckle "but you're already beautiful, you know that right? I love you for you" I tell her and she nods softly.

After we've gotten our tickets we sit down "umm" George whispers "what?" I ask "Kipps is literally 2 chairs away from me, I don't know how I didn't see him" he tells me and I sigh.

"Maybe because he's turned away and eating that girl's face" I whisper and George frowns. "How can he move on so quickly" I ask and look away.

Another Kipps passes infront of us? "Kipps?" I accidentally say "oh....uh..... Hi I didn't know you guys were here, is Jake with you?" He asks and I feel my face get really hot.

"No he isn't" I say a bit too harshly, I'm guessing he misses my son, well at least I know he cared for them. I calm myself down and say "so? What are you doing here?" I ask and he shrugs.

"I'm here cuz my brother said he was nervous about meeting this girl" he tells us. "Him? Nervous?" George mutters but Kipps still hears him and chuckles.

"Can I just sit with you guys and act like I don't know him?" He says and I laugh quietly. "I'm pretty sure everyone would know you're siblings. You have the exact same face" I tell him and he nods "but go ahead" I tell him and he sits beside George.

~George's P.O.V.~

I get a text message from Holly saying the house is ready. "Uuh we have to go" I whisper to Lockwood "what? The movie just started" he complains and I roll my eyes.

"It's important" I tell him and he sighs "sorry Kipps, we have to go" Lockwood says and we get up to leave "you can come along if you want" he says, probably without thinking.

"Umm wont it be awkward? I mean I'm guessing Lucy'll be there" Kipps say and I nod "you're right Kipps, lets go Lockwood" I say and push him. "Ugh fine" Lockwood says and walks without me having to push him.

I pull up to the driveway and Lockwood gets out and heads for the door. I follow him, he gets his keys out and starts unlocking the door, "what was so important that we had to leave the movie theatre?" He asks and swings the door open.

"SURPRISE!!!" Everyone screams and I smile "Happy Birthday" I tell him and he gasps. "I totally forgot it was my birthday" he says and everyone laughs.

~Lucy's P.O.V.~

I walk up to him and hand him a small box, "I love you, but open the box after you've opened the others" I smile and he hugs me tighter than I can stand.

"I love you" he whispers in my ear "I...love.....you.....too but....I can't breath" I say and he lets go of me "sorry" he says and I peck his lips.

After everyone has congratulated and hugged him we all go to the dining table for the cake. We sing happy birthday songs, blow out 39 candles, make him wish a wish, push him into the cake, cut the cake, eat the cake.

Everyone sits around in the living room laughing. He finishes opening the last gift box which is a watch from Evie. "Okay come with me so you can open my present" I smile and everyone makes a big whining sound. "It's special" I laugh and take his hand leading him upstairs.

"I bet they're just gonna makeout" Holly laughs and I glare at her playfully "we are not" I say and she laughs again.We go into our room and sit on the bed facing eachother.

He takes the box from his pocket and opens it. Inside he finds a paper folded multiple times, he looks at me curiously. When he opens it he smiles and starts reading it.

~Lockwood's P.O.V.~

Inside the box I find a paper folded multiple times, I look at her curiously and unfold the paper. I smile when I see the title.___________________________

My Vows To YouI loved you all along, I just didnt know it at first, and then you kissed me and its like my whole world changed.

I felt your lips on mine and I just knew you were going to be the one. I wanted you to love me, and you did, and I love you for that.

I love that you fought through with me through everything we've been through. Im glad you did because if you hadnt, I wouldnt have had the chance to be with you now.

Im ready to wake up everyday and find you laying next to me, I'm ready to fight, fight through everything we need to, to be with you. I love you.___________________________

Its only a piece of what she said that day but it's still beautiful. "Thank you, Lucy" I smile and she tries hugging me as tight as I hugged her earlier except I'm stronger, so she can't really squeeze me.

"I love you" I tell her and when I pull her back there's tear stains on her cheeks and her eyes are a bit red. "I'm sorry. I promised myself I wouldn't cry" she laughs and I shake my head "it's okay" I tell her and she shakes her head.

"We need to talk, and I mean really talk, wenever talked about what happened with Kipps and......and I can't move on like this. I need to talk about it, let it out" she cries and I hug her closer to me.

I put the small box on the bedside table and lay down beside Lucy. Our eyes lock and we just lay there quietly for a bit.

"I'm really sorry. I......I really missed you and I wanted you back so bad. I didn't know what to do... So I went to Kipps. I felt like he was there for me and he was. But it wasn't the same.....I needed you" she cries and I cup the side of her face.

"It doesn't matter. I love you, and I'm glad you love me back too. I know you never stopped loving me" I tell her "how?" She asks and I shrug.

"I knew. When I looked into your eyes that day I reappeared, I saw how scared you were" I say and kiss her head "I was scared. I was scared because, I didn't know what I'd do. I was so happy to see you but so scared about Kipps. I can't explain it. I wanted you more than anything, I love you more than I can comprehend" She tells me and kisses my lips softly.

"I love you more than anything" she says "I love you much more" I smile and we fall asleep after a bit of just looking at eachothers eyes.

I know I said I would wait until September-that's when the 4th book comes out- but I couldn't help myself so I wrote all the chapters during this long while and doing that, my book is now finished/complete. Hopefully you enjoy the rest of my book. Besides that I'm glad I'm back now, hope you enjoyed this chapter. I know it's short but the next one is already up so read on. plz vote and comment. XD
