Chapter 9
05:07, 8 August 2016Kurt's POV~
Blaine: You'll just have to give it to me tomorrow then. Do you think my food will be able to wait that long to see me again? It must miss me dearly.
I stiffed a laugh as I sat down on the park bench, typing out a response.
Me: Two days without seeing you? Hmm, I don't know if it will survive. I can barely go one day without seeing you ;)
Risky, but maybe he won't think too much about it.I watched as I saw a little boy running around the field playing tag with his dad. I smiled slightly, maybe I'll give dad a call later. I haven't seen him in a while. I miss him. Suddenly a large golden retriever ran up to me and placed his head on my lap.Great, now I'm going to get doggie drool on my favorite jeans. He picked his head up and placed it back down again, staring at me with huge puppy dog eyes."You remind me of Blaine." I said moving my hand to stroke the top of his head.
"You've seen his puppy dog eyes, now all you're going to do is compare him to dogs." I heard a voice say behind me.I turned around to see Wes standing there with an empty dog leash in his hand. He moved next to me and plopped down on the seat.
"Lexi, girl, you alway run away to find strangers. Next time, find a hot single lady." He grabbed the dogs- Lexi's collar and buckled it into the leash.
"Hello to you too, Wes."
"Where's Blainey?"
"Home?"
"No he's not. Just went up there, bellboy said he left. I saw you here and figured he was here too."
"Nope. Just me.."
"Just sitting here attracting puppies?"
"I guess so." I laughed. Lexi whined as she lifted her head back up from my lap.
"Dinner time! I'll catch you around, Kurt! Might want to leave here, looks like it's about to pour!" Wes said as he started jogging away, Lexi running with him.
I looked up at the sky. Maybe I should get going, it does look like it's going to rain. I walked back over to my car, the moment I got in, it started down pouring. It was raining so hard I couldn't even see out of my windshield. I might as well sit here until it lightens up a bit. I unlocked my phone expecting there to be a message from Blaine.Nothing. I went back into our messages.
Me: Hope I didn't scare you off! :)
Good job, Kurt...*buzz* *buzz* "Dad calling"
"Hey dad." I answered, placing the phone to my ear.
"Hey Kiddo! How's it going?"
"It's good! I was actually about to call you. I'm stuck in my car waiting for this storm to pass by so I can drive home. How are you? How's Carole doing?"
"She's good! I'm good! We're good. So you're not home yet? Do you know when you will be?" He asked.
"Umm I'm not sure. It doesn't look like this rains clearing up any time soon. Why? Are you coming to New York?!"
"What? Oh no no. I just sent something over to your house and I wanted to know if you got it already or not."
"Oh.." I said with a frown.
"Sorry kiddo. But we'll see each other soon! One of us will come to visit another."
"Yeah, I know. I just... miss you, that's all."
"Me too, bud. So tell me about you day? What did you do?"
"I went to work, got done really early so I went out to coffee with one of my students and his friend. He needed help with translating. Then I came to the park and hug out for a little bit, I saw it was going to rain so I went back to my car and now here I am, talking to you."
"You went out for coffee with your students? Aren't they a bit too young to be drinking coffee?"
"Oh, he's 25, Dad. The first adult I've ever taught."
"And do you like this student?"
"DAD!"
"What! I just want to know! You went out to coffee with this guy."
"His name is Blaine, and no- i don't know if I like him."
"Hmmmm."
"Don't you 'hmmm' me. You know I hate that." I rolled my eyes.
"Hmmmmmmmmm."
"Goodbye, Dad."
"Wait, Kurt!"
"I'll call you later and let you know when I get your package, okay? The rain has lightened up a bit so I can drive home now. I love you."
"Love you too, kiddo. Drive safe." I hung up as I picked my key up and stuck it into the ignition. I can't wait to get home.
Blaine's POV~I'm wet, I'm cold and I want to go home, but I don't want to have to see Dad. I can't believe him. He wants me to live with this disability forever when I have a chance to get my hearing back. To continue making my dreams come true. How am I suppose to do that if I don't have my hearing? It's like he doesn't want me to do anything with my life.Where even am I? I looked around the empty road. Great, now I'm lost. I don't even know how long I've been walking for.Ugh.I saw a light come up from behind me, so I slowly moved farther away from the street. I could see it slowing to a stop.I turned around to a figure getting out of the car and walking towards me. It was Kurt.
"Blaine. What the hell are you doing out here?" He asked.
"I got in a fight with my dad, so I left." I responded.
"Come on, I'm taking you home."
"No. I'm not going back there."
"Come on, Blaine. Get in the car."
"I'll get in the car if you promise not to take me home." I crossed my arms in front of me. He looked around the street and rolled his eyes.
"Fine. I promise. Now get in the damn car." He turned around and walked back to his car, opening up his door and stared at me, waiting for me to get in.
"Where are you taking me?" I asked once I finally got in the car.
"Home."
"Kurt! You promised!"
"Not your home. Mine." He placed his hands on to the steering wheel and continued to drive up the street.
Kurt's POV~
I pulled up to my apartment and unbuckled my seat belt, exiting my car. I watched as Blaine stepped out of the car and looked over at me.
"Follow me." I signed, walking up to the steps.I unlocked the door and walked in, setting my belongings down on the table.
"Want something to eat?" I asked.
"I'm fine." Blaine signed, looking around the room."I like it here." He said.
"Thanks. Me too." I smiled at him, turning back around and walking into the kitchen.Blaine followed behind me as I open the refrigerator door and pulled out a bowl of fruit salad.
"Sure you don't want any?" I gestured to the bowl.
"Maybe a little bit." He sat down at the table. I grabbed two forks and the bowl and sat down across from him, handing him a fork.
"So what happened?" I asked, grabbing a piece of watermelon and plopping it in my mouth.
"My dad doesn't want me to get the surgery..." He looked up at me.
"What?! Why not?!"
"He thinks it's too dangerous."
"Blaine. I thought he was okay with the surgery?"
"I thought he was too. But when I came home today, he told me he didn't want me to get it. Said he was the parent, he needed my signature to get it, which I wasn't getting." He set his fork down on the table and closed his eyes
I reached over the table and placed my hand on top of his. His eyes fluttered open."I'm so sorry."
"If I don't get this operation, I can't go back to doing what I love, Kurt. Do you understand that? I can't make music without my hearing." Tears started forming at the corners of his eyes.
"I know that."
"Well why doesn't he! He knows how important this is to me. I don't understand why he doesn't just let me get the operation."
"He doesn't want you to get hurt."
"I already am hurt, Kurt. Doesn't he see that? Not letting me do the surgery is hurting me too." He stood up and walked out of the kitchen and into the living room, sitting down on the couch.I slowly stood up and followed him.
"Beethoven." I signed.
"What?"
"He was deaf and he still wrote beautiful pieces."
"I'm not him."
"You're right. You're not. You're Blaine Anderson." He smiled slightly.
"How about, I talk to your dad for you?"
"You'd do that for me?"
"Anything for my favorite student to achieve his dreams." Blaine pulled me into a tight hug.
"Thank you, Kurt." He spoke. I slid my arm around him, hugging him back. He pulled away.
"What if he still doesn't let me get the surgery?" Blaine signed.
"Stop worrying about that, okay? We'll talk about that if it comes to that result." He nodded and hesitantly looked at me.
"What?" I asked.
"I hope this isn't weird, but, will you just... Hold me? Like you did that time at the office?"
"Come here." I laid back on the couch and patted the spot down next to me. He smiled and moved in close to me as I wrapped my arm around him.
"You're the best." I heard him say.
Soon, we drifted off to sleep.
~A/NI'm not really happy with this chapter, I wrote it on different days so I couldn't remember little details that I wanted to put in when I first started, but I got the main stuff that I wanted down and I know where it's going so it's all good.Sorry if it's not the best one 🙄Until Next Time...
