♢Chapter 6♢
03:51, 28 October 2018It was early morning, around 8 o'clock to be more exact. Yaoyorozu was waiting outside next to her father as they waited for the Queen to thank them for their visit and for Prince Todoroki to come with them.
The other night, King Endeavor has said that Todoroki would only be aloud to stay for three days and no more. However, King Yaoyorozu suggested a week's long visit and said it would be good for the two teens. After bickering for a bit, the Queen stepped in and sided with King Yaoyorozu, stating that Shoto was getting along really well with Yaoyorozu and that it would be good for him.
Yaoyorozu leaned against the carriage, her hands behind her back as she waited patiently. They'd only been waiting for around 5, maybe 10 minutes, but to Yaoyorozu, it felt like hour's.
"Father" Yaoyorozu spoke, catching her father's attention as he turned his head to look down at his daughter. "What is it Momo?" He asked her. Yaoyorozu was quiet for a moment before speaking.
"On the way home, could we stop by the ocean. I want to show Todoroki it since he's never seen it for real before" Yaoyorozu asked her father.
Ever since she heard Todoroki never saw the ocean, she was saddened. The ocean was amazing, filled with life and so much to explore on the beaches it touches around the world. That's why Yaoyorozu was determined to show Todoroki the ocean, so he could experience what it is like, even if it was disobeying King Endeavor's wishes of not allowing Todoroki to leave their home.
Yaoyorozu watched as her father thought about it carefully. She knew that he would have to think through it and think of the pros and cons of allowing it. King Yaoyorozu looked down at his daughter and seen how much hope she had in her grey eye's. He chuckled and leaned back with his arms crossed.
"I don't see why not. I think it would be fun" Yaoyorozu's father told her. He watched from the corner of his eye as he saw his daughter smile brightly like she did when she was younger when he showed her magic tricks. It was the smile that held wonder, joy and amazement. "Thank you father" Yaoyorozu thanked him.
Before he could reply, the front door's of the castle opened to show the Queen and Prince Todoroki, a large suitcase in Todoroki's hand. They walked down the steps towards the carriage and the Queen smiled. "Take good care of my Shoto" she asked them. King Yaoyorozu bowed. "I give you my word, he'll be fine with us" he promised.
The Queen then turned to her son. Although to many her looked like he didn't hold any emotion on his face, his mother could tell he was beyond excited to go. She smiled at him and placed her hands on his shoulders. "You stay safe, and don't listen to your father, go off and explore while you have the chance. Take this week of freedom and have fun" Todoroki's mother told him with a saddened smile.
As happy as she was for her son to finally have a chance to leave this place, she was saddened that she couldn't. She wanted to go see her own family again, explore the outside forest's again and go to a bakery to taste fresh treats, but that wasn't going to happen. However, her son would be able to do all that for her, which was enough to make her happy.
Todoroki gave his mother and slight smile and nodded with a 'I will'. She smiled and hugged her son tightly, as if it was going to be the very last time she would see him again. After a few moments she let go of him. "Now go on, have fun" she told him. Todoroki nodded once again and walked over to the Yaoyorozus who was smiling brightly as he walked over.
"Alright, in you two go, I'll sit next to the driver" King Yaoyorozu told them as he pointed to the one who held the rains of the horses. The Todoroki and Yaoyorozu excitedly nodded as they climbed into the carriage and the door shut behind them. Todoroki looked out the window and saw his mother smiling a sad bright smile.
Yaoyorozu then clapped her hands in excitement. "I can't wait to show you my own castle and show you around" Yaoyorozu told Todoroki with excitement, finally showing her friend the outside world. Todoroki smiled at her. "Yeah, I bet it will be great fun and a great experience" he replied, just as excited.
They then heard the whip of the rains and the carriage started moving. The two teens turned to the window and began waving at the Queen. "Goodbye" they yelled as they came to the castle gates as she also waved back shouting something that they couldn't hear with the sound of the carriage wheels turning and the sounds of the horses hooves hitting the cement.
As they passed through the gates, Todoroki looked ahead of them out the window and smiled. He was finally out. He was finally beyond the wall's that had stopped him from seeing the outside world. He watched as they entered a forest, a dirt path leading the way to who knows where. The sun's rays made their way through the leaves in the tree's above, hitting Todoroki's face with sunlight every few seconds.
As Todoroki leaned out the window and took in the surroundings, Yaoyorozu smiled where she sat next to Todoroki and smiled. She had never seen him look so happy before. Usually, Todoroki had an amused expression on his face 24/7, but now, he was smiling, not a big one, but one that could be noticed.
"If you like the forest, wait till we get to our next destination" Yaoyorozu told Todoroki, catching his attention. He leaned his head back in and sat back down next to Yaoyorozu. "You mean your castle?" He asked her. Yaoyorozu shook her head no, which cause Todoroki to tilt his head in confusion, which cause Yaoyorozu to laugh.
"Then where are we going?" Todoroki asked the girl, confused what she is on about. She shook her head and smiled. "It's a surprise" Yaoyorozu told him with a smirk as she faced the window looking out at the passing world go by. To be honest, Todoroki was super excited.
This was his first time out of the castle and already it was amazing. The forest was nothing like his garden. It had way more tree's then the garden's had and it almost felt enchanted to him. The tree's were so green, the grass looked soft and every now and again he would see forest animals like birds, rabbits and squirrels.
The two teens sat in silence, both looking out their window's as tree's passed by and admiring the view before them. They sat together in a comfortable silence.
After around 2 hour's in the carriage ride, the two teens were getting tired. Sure the scenery had changed from forest, to towns, to field's and such, but that didn't mean they weren't tired from waking up early and having to sit in a carriage for a few hours. They had been sitting inside the carriage and started talking about poems, stories and things they'll do over the week.
"Also did you hear about the coronation?" Yaoyorozu asked Todoroki all of a sudden, which he returned with a confused look. "What coronation?" Todoroki asked the black haired girl in front of him. "You know, the One For All Kingdom? They are having a coronation for the next ruler" Yaoyorozu chirped with excitement.
Todoroki had heard about the One For All Kingdom from his father who only talked bad about it. The One For All Kingdom was the largest Kingdom of them all and surpassed the Endeavor Kingdom to, which Todoroki's father hated, for he wanted their Kingdom to be the best of all.
"I haven't heard about it. What happening at the coronation exactly?" Todoroki asked, wanting to get more detail on it. "Well, the One For All Kingdom works differently then other Kingdom's. Unlike most kingdom's that have the king and queen's son or daughter become the next ruler, the One For All Kingdom chooses who is next" Yaoyorozu explained as best she could.
Today thought about it. That was an interesting concept to be honest. Not everyone is cut out to be a King or Queen, so picking someone out who would be able to handle all of it was quiet a good idea. "That's interesting, but why do you bring it up all of a sudden?" Todoroki asked Yaoyorozu, wondering how they were talking about the poem Caged Bird to this.
"Well it's because I just remembered that me and my father are invited to the coronation in a few days and wanted to know if you would like to come?" Yaoyorozu asked Todoroki, waiting for his answer. "I don't know, my father extremely hates the One For All Kingdom and if he finds out I went, he'd kill me" Todoroki told Yaoyorozu, clearly not wanting to upset his father.
"Oh come on, he will never know, it's not like he is going to it" Yaoyorozu reassured Todoroki, hoping he would change his mind. Todoroki thought about it. It's true, his father would never go so he would never see him there, so he could probably go. "Alright, I'll come to" Todoroki replied, which Yaoyorozu clapped her hand to. "Great! It will be so much fun. There will be a big party and you can meet all of my other friends there" Yaoyorozu told Todoroki excitedly.
Yaoyorozu wanted Todoroki to experience what it was like to have a group of friends and what it is like to be a normal teen, which he hasn't after being tapped in his home for years.
Yaoyorozu looked out the window and smiled. "Hey Todoroki could you close your eyes for a moment?" Yaoyorozu asked Todoroki with excitement, as she saw their destination not to far away. Todoroki was confused and closed his eye's tightly. "Why do I have to do this?" Todoroki asked Yaoyorozu calmly. "You'll see in a few moments" Yaoyorozu told him as she looked out the window as they came close to their destination.
Then, the rumbling of the carriage stopped and the door opened, only to reveal King Yaoyorozu. "Alright you two, you have a hour and a half, okay" he told them. Yaoyorozu nodded. "Okay, we won't be to far" Yaoyorozu told him as she turned her head to Todoroki.
"Keep your eyes close and don't open them until I say so, okay" Yaoyorozu told Todoroki as she grabbed his hand tightly and to lead the way for him. Todoroki jumped a bit at the sudden contact but eased up quickly as he knew it was only Yaoyorozu.
After a moment, Todoroki held only Yaoyorozu's hand equally as tight as she lead him slowly out of the carriage. Her jumped down the steps and he felt himself hit soft ground. Todoroki felt as Yaoyorozu pulled him along, and he guessed they were going down a small slope, evident by the way the ground we going at at at downwards angle.
Since Todoroki couldn't see, he used his other scenes to try and identity where they were. The could hear the sound of his and Yaoyorozu's feet hitting against the ground as they slowly jogged to where ever they were going, and there was a strange sound he never heard before.
It sounded like, well, he didn't know what it sounded like. How could you describe something you never heard. They best way Todoroki could put it is a soft humming like sound. He could also smell what be believed to be salt, which was kind of funny to him. He could also feel a cold breeze fitting against his face along with the warmth of the sun, and the breeze blowing his hair slightly.
Todoroki P.O.V"Okay you may open your eyes" Yaoyorozu told me calmly but the excitement in her voice never leaving. With a nod, I opened my eyes and they widened at the sight. In front of me, sand covered the ground and stretched all the way to my left and all the way to my right. But what really took my breath away was what was beyond that.
Before us, was water that seemed to stretch out beyond the horizon and looked like it had no end, and it's bright surface reflecting the blue sky with cloud's above it. "Is this?" I said but was at a lost of words. "Yeah, welcome to the ocean" Yaoyorozu told me with a bright smile.
As I took in the sight, I felt Yaoyorozu let go of my hand, and to be honest, I had to prevent myself from reaching out to grab her hand again. I watched as she ran across the sand and towards the ocean, and I followed after her. When we were a few meters away from the water, Yaoyorozu stopped and turned to me.
"How about we see if we can find any cool seashells" Yaoyorozu suggested as she slipped off her shoes and placed them down and walked over to the water's edge. "What are you doing?" I asked her. "Well the best shells are out in the water, and we can't do that if we don't go in. Come on, just take your shoes off and you'll you be fine" Yaoyorozu told me as she rolled up her dress as far as her knees and tying it at the side to prevent it falling down.
"Alright I'm coming" I told her as I to took my shoes off and placed them down and then rolling up my trousers up as far as my knees to prevent them from getting wet from the water. "Great now hurry up, we only have a hour and a half here" Yaoyorozu told me as she ran into the water, me fallowing close behind her.
