Chapter 44 - 누나 (NU-NA)[Noona]

03:37, 5 November 2017

I was back home, my head pulsing from the lack of sleep from promotions with Namjoon at talk shows and a few reality shows here and there. A few days had already passed and it's almost time for me to have my comeback live. Jay jumps onto my lap and barks as I shove a pillow in my face.

"I'm tired!"I complain.

"Don't worry, you aren't the only one."Yoongi says, cracking his back as he begins to install some black curtains on the bare windows."I like your choice of curtains."

"Thanks, I knew you'd like them."I say with a chuckle, seeing him struggle to find the right place to start drilling into the wall."Need some help?"

"Nope, I've installed curtains before in my room so this shouldn't be as hard right?"he says, turning down help from me."...By the way, where'd you and Taehyungie go on Monday?"

"Just to Daegu to visit his parents."I say, making sure I didn't say too much."He didn't want to go alone and since I was free he asked me."

"Ah."he replies, drilling in a few holes on the marks he had made on the wall."What did the two of you do?"

"Wow curious are we?"I giggle, seeing him turn around to face me with teasing eyes.

"If you don't tell me I'll just assume the worst happened."he chuckled.

"I don't know what you mean Yoongi-oppa."I smirk, hearing him sigh as I slam back onto the couch.

"A twenty-two year old like you should know what I'm talk about."he chuckles, drilling in the last few holes."Don't fuck with me."

"Fine, we just hung out at his family's apartment and I got to meet his parents after he showed me around the town."I finally answer.

'It's half the truth anyway.'

"Is that all?"

"Yeah."

"You sure?"

"Yeah."

"You're not lying at all?"

"Yeah."

"You are lying aren't you."

"Y-...No."

I let out a small giggle as I feel Yoongi bop my head with the back of his hand."Aish, this girl."

I sit up and place Jay on the couch to rest on something studier than my stomach before getting up to lean against the back of my green couch, right in front of a window. Yoongi hands me a curtain rod and tells me to hold it still as he places the fabric on it. I stare out the window as my eyes blink every now and then to keep myself awake.

'I wouldn't want to ruin my sleep schedule.'

My view is blocked once Yoongi stands right in front of me to straighten out his arrangement. Our knees ended up touching as he reaches behind me for a bracket.

"Sorry."he mumbles once he realizes our closeness.

"It's alright."I say cooly, ignoring how his fingers kept unconciously holding onto mine.

"You know, I never knew you were good with tools."I say, seeing him immersed in aligning everything perfectly.

"Someone has to fix the things Namjoon breaks."he shrugs, stiffening slightly as his hand brushes over mine once more."Y-Yah, I think we need more screws so can you check my dorm. Jungkookie should be in there right now."

"Okay, is that all you need?"I ask, placing the arranged curtain over the couch.

"Yeah."

"You sure?"I imitate, hearing him click his tongue while I put on my shoes.

"Aish, this girl."he grunts, shaking his head with a pout."Hurry up before I decide to sleep."

"Alrighty!"

I close my dorm door behind me, knocking Bangtan's as I wait for it to open up. Just as Yoongi had said, Jungkook was standing at the enterance. He seemed like he wasn't expecting me to be at the door, noticing his head tilt slightly down so his tall stature could meet my eyes.

"Noona?"

"Hi Kookie. I'm here to just pick something up for Yoongi-oppa."I greet.

Jungkook opens his mouth, only to stiffly nod and stand to the side. I squeezed by his and walked toward Yoongi and Jin's room. Just as I walked in I was hit with two contrasting sides.

'I'll just assume Yoongi's half is the darker one.'

I walk past Jin's pastel styled room and found myself in a plain black and white bedroom. It was neat and tidy, just how I had imagined it would look. Rows of cds on every shelf, a few kumamon plushies stacked ontop of one another on his desk, and black curtains that were identical to the ones we were installing into my dorm.

'I'm taking too long, where are screws?'

I survey the chromatic lacking room, a tool box underneath Yoongi's desk seemed to be the right place to look for them. I pull out the heavy box and open it up; seeing sets of tools, screws, nails, and bolts.

'I think this pack should work.'

I quickly examine the screws, checking for the correct sizes before placing everything back where it once was and leaving his room. Just as I closed the door behind me I was met with a strong chest, the momentum I had created from rushing toward my dorm bounced back at me and the screws clinked onto the wooden floor.

"Sorry Kookie I didn't see ya!"I gasp, noticing his surprised face as well.

"It's my fault Noona, I shouldn't have been that close to the door."he chuckles sheepishly, bending down with me to pick up the stray pieces of metal from the ground and placing them back into the container.

Jungkook and I quickly picked up what we could see, both our faces red from embarrassment. Thankfully, there wasn't much that fell in the first place. I reached for one screw right in front of me, only for Jungkookie to grab it at the same time. If our faces could get even more red we would've been tomatoes by now.

'What kind of drama is this?'

We stayed in that position, the two of us kneeling on the ground with our foreheads nearly touching and his hand on mine, for longer than I would've expected. I took the liberty to pick the screw up from the ground, breaking the brief physical contact from Jungkook before straightening up with the box of screws in hand.

"Thanks Kookie."I say, waiting as he stands up as well.

"Yeah...no problem noona."he says quietly, his eyes wavering from my eyes to the floor."Noona...may I ask you something?"

"Of course, no need to be so formal."I joked, smiling once I saw him warm up a bit."Now, what do you need to ask?"

"...It's just...have you gave it some thought?"he asked, trying his best to keep his eye from darting away from mine."You know my feelings?"

I sigh and place a hand on his shoulder, his muscles tense underneath the thin sleeve of his white shirt. To be honest, I didn't plan on giving his confession any thought. After what happened in the company car...I just decided to push all this behind me. I had many important things to worry about like Taehyung, my comeback, and getting the rest of my personal life sorted out. It was like I was living the life of a high school student in a drama, unecessary situations pop up every day...yet all I do it faze through each one. I shouldn't be letting my problems pile up on one another like that.

"I've already given you my answer haven't I?"I breathed,"How else should I put it? 'I'm not looking for someone right now.', 'I have other things to focus on besides some petty love story.', or 'You could find someone better.'. Kookie look, I'm flattered. I really am. But I can assure you, this is just a phase."

"It's not a phase, I can promise you that."Jungkook bet, his stare becoming intense as I raised my brow.

"Not a phase? Please. You're still a maturing adult. It's probably just your hormones or something. I think you should wait for the right girl to show up."

With that I walk around him, the hallway looked as if it was only getting longer with each step I took. A heavy feeling in my gut was the only thing that kept me from breaking down infront of him.

"I can't wait for the right girl anymore."

I stopped, forcing myself to not turn around to look at Jungkook straight on. The guilt I felt from hearing the pain in his voice was already enough for me to question if I should comfort him, but if I stared at him straight on there's no saying what I'd do out of guilt.

"And why not?"I cautioned, knowing that I would regret it if I stayed here any longer.

"I can't wait for the right girl anymore because...because if I wait for her any longer...I'll end up losing her!"

My form was pulled back with a tight hug. I could feel Jungkook's chin resting on the top of my head as he continued. His musk filling my senses when I saw his neck vessels throb in irritation.

"I can't wait for the right girl anymore. I've already waited long enough. If I wait any longer I know for sure I'll lose her. She's beautiful, smart, fun to be with, and I know that I can give her all my love...I just need her to accept me."Jungkook's arms firmly wrapped around me as he spoke."The right girl is standing right infront of me and I refuse to let her slip away from me."

Before I could register a reply my eyes met his, less than a second later his lips were placed over mine. It took all my will power to keep myself from slapping him across the face for doing such an action so suddenly. Instead I reached my hand and place my palm right on his chest, pushing him an arm's distance away from me.

"I'm sorry Kookie."

Without turning back I hurry out of his dorm, entering my own dorm a bit too sudden to be normal. My panting and red face must have toned down a little while I took my time to take my shoes off. My mind raced, trying to forget everything that had happened just across the hall.

'Dammit, it happened again. Why did Kookie need to do that now?'

"Hey. Roxi."

"Hmm?"

I realize that I had been kneeling on the ground for a while, just blankly staring at the wall to calm down. Letting out a sigh I get up and hand Yoongi the box of screws. He gave me a funny look before beginning to get to work.

"Did something happen back there?"he asks, picking through the box.

"Nope."

"You sure?"

"Let's not start this again."
