Chapter 3 : Suffocating silence
20:32, 9 March 2025As the situation settled down I put my hammer away but keeping it in arm's reach. Feeling Metal Sonic's eyes following me around the room I tense up. "Don't get intimidated Amy" I think to myself. I grab one of the blueprints and turn around holding it up to Metals face.
"Look! You won't get far with a missing arm and leg, I have almost everything I need to fix you up"
After saying that the room went quiet. Even though I knew that Metal sonic couldn't speak, I still was hoping for some kind of response. Not being able to stand the silence I once again speak up. "Tomorrow I'll go and get all the pieces I need to rebuild your limbs, After I rebuild you. you're allowed to leave" I say calmly.
He isn't very happy with this "deal" but it seems as if he realized that he has no choice. Sitting down in front of him I reach into my tool box and get back to working on him. Although he tries to retaliate, I quietly point at my hammer making a deadly yet silent threat. It seems that little threat of mine made him stop. I sniggered to myself. I never imagined that he would be afraid of me.
As I kept working the only thing that kept the room from filling with uncomfortable silence was the light humming of the robot's motor.
While I'm losing myself in my work I start thinking about everything that happened in the last few days. I moved to Sunset Heights to settle down and to start a new life away from the hectic, codependent life I lived but now I'm sitting on my living room floor fixing the robotic doppelganger of the hedgehog I'm trying to avoid. Ironic isn't it?
Lost in thought I almost didn't catch Metal Sonic staring at me. His red eyes following every move I make as if to make sure I won't break him any further. I look up and roll my eyes at him.
"I'm not going to break you" I say trying to reassure him.
"I know we're enemies and all but unlike you I'm not cruel"
As I finished my sentence that prick kicked the screwdriver out of my hand. It seems as if Metal didn't appreciate my sassy little comments. You'd think that he wouldn't get frazzled so easily.
Frustrated and annoyed, I take a deep breath and go to get the screwdriver back. This is going to be the end of me, I begrudgingly thought. Exhausted from dealing with that thing, I looked at my clock. It's already morning, I spent my whole night with that asshole. I scratched the back of my head.
Heading back to the corner where Metal is, I throw the screwdriver on the floor. The loud noise catching Metal sonics attention.
"Listen here, I'm going to Tails workshop."
"If I come back and anything changes in my home, You're dead." I say completely drained.
"Now stay put and behave" I slammed my door and started heading to my car.
Before I drove off I called Tails up.
"Hey Tails, sorry for calling this early but I could use some help"
"It's about Metal Sonic isn't it?"
I pause for a second before responding. "Yes" I felt guilty instantly.
"What do you need?"
"Metals missing his right arm and left leg could you maybe build those limbs for me?"
"I almost fixed everything else so please do this for me" I must sound so desperate.
I heard him sigh and so I started to get nervous thinking he'd say no.
"They'll be ready in an hour"
"You're the best Tails! after this is all over I'll bake you anything you want"
"Yeah you better!" he said teasingly.
I hung up and finally drove off getting a short break from the creature in my living room. Feeling the slight breeze while driving to the near-by village Tails lives in gave me some energy."It's almost over" I say to myself. The thought keeps me going as I arrive at Tailses workshop.
Lightly slapping my face I try to not look as sleep deprived as I actually am. I walk to the door of the small workshop, Its painted yellow with a white roof. It's very cozy looking.
I knock on the door waiting for Tails to open it.
