,,you groggily opened your eyes.

you turned your head and saw the otherswaking up as well, a melody was playing.the memories of the prior night came rushing into your head.

"what happened?"jung won was the first to speak.

"I don't know."yoon seo said shaking her head.

people started glancing around the hallwayin confusion.

"what do we do with yool?yool...what do wedo?"eun ha whispered.

yoon seo started to get up on her feet andjogged to the window. you stayed seated then you heard everyone's phones ding.

you quickly pulled it out and checked it.

"before the end of the last voting, the policeofficer used their power."the voice started to announce.

"choi joo won was executed by the mafia. choi joo won is the mafia."it continued.

if he was the mafia...why was he killed? somany questions ran through your head.

"participants please find the mafia andstart voting."the announcement concluded.

"where's joo won?"yoon seo asked.

her question was followed by silence, as no one answered her.

"the announcement...who's making this announcement?"woo ram pointed up.

"why do we keep hearing this right now?"he shouted.

"the broadcasting room is on the second floor. lets go over there, let's go."hyun ho spoke.

a group of people followed after him running, while others stayed behind. you chose to stay here since yoon seo and jung won hadn't gone.

you then heard a shout come from the men's restroom. yoon seo dashed in first, you took a moment to process it and ran in after her.

inside you saw da bum shocked. you turned to see what he was looking at and saw a pool of blood under a stall.

"shit, class president go open it."kyung jun pushed jun hee towards it.

the rest of you stood back while he opened the door, in fear you grabbed the personnext to you's arm.

you took a quick glance to see who exactly you were holding on too, it was kyung jun.

he didn't seem to care, or well he was probably to preoccupied on the situation happening before you.

you turned your attention back to jun hee as he opened the stall door. when he opened it,it revealed a blood covered joo won.

some people had scream when they saw it. you let a hand cover your mouth, he was really dead...

joo won was sat in a corner with a pool of blood under him.

"he's dead..."jun hee whispered.

"the mafia...t-this is because of the mafia game. what if we all die too?"da bum stuttered out.

"shut up you bastard. no ones fucking dying."kyung jun broke from your grasp on him andgripped da bums collar.

it would be great if no one would die, but these two death proved that this was very real, you thought to yourself.

"hey lee yoon seo."you heard jung won call out as she approached joo won's body.

she kneeled down as jung won shouted at her. you saw her dip her fingers into the blood.

"the blood hasn't dried yet. he died recently."yoon seo spoke before starting to gag.

"hey, class president. what will you do now?"kyung jun grabbed jun hee by his shoulders.

"we should...get out of here first. tell everyone that we need to get out of here."jun hee instructed everyone.

he then went to go help yoon seo up while everyone exited the restroom. you quickly exited, this situation made you sick.

everyone started running out of the building, slowing down as they reached the outdoors.

"your phones aren't working right?"yoon seo asked you and jung won.

"no it's not."jung won responded holding up her phone.

"mine isn't either."you said showing them your phone.

you all started to jog forward until the siren went off again. you froze in place once you heard it.

"what's that?"yoon seo panicked.

"the game has to be played within the designated area."that mysterious voice kept repeating.

did that mean you had to stay here? you glanced around looking at everyone.

on your phone the same message was there flashing red.

"I think it's telling us not to leave."yoon seo said.

you guessed that was what the announcement meant, but how could it keep you here?

"guys hold on. don't leave and stay for a moment."jun hee spoke as he turned to face everyone.

"why?"someone screamed out.

"something's strange."he responded cautiously.

"do you believe bullshit like this? fuck whatever, let's just go!"sang hwan shouted before running off.

everyone screamed at him to stop. even hyun seok followed after him. they both came to an abrupt stop in the middle of the street.

"lee sang hwan is being executed for breaking the rule."it started speaking.

"kim hyun seok is being executed for breaking the rule."it finished the announcement.

you could be executed for breaking the rules...thank goodness you didn't just run off...

the two started gripping their heads just like how yool had last night. you felt terrible just standing there being able to not do anything.

thought what could you really do? running into the street meant death, you weren't going to risk that.

you saw sang hwan start turning towards hyun seok, you noticed his eyes were pure white as well.

they both then started running at each other full speed, colliding with each other. the force had knocked them both to the floor.

sang hwan managed to stand up first and grabbed hyun seok by the shoulders before smashing his head against hyun seok's head.

you heard screams of terror come from your classmates. despite that they kept smashing their heads against each other.

they had blood dripping down their foreheads, until sang hwan feel to the floor and started to bleed out from his head.

hyun seok then made his way towards a tree. he picked up a rock and lifted it to his head.

after hitting himself with it a few times he too fell to the ground.

you tore your eyes away and focused them on your shoes. their deaths were far too brutal.

you heard classmates crying and screaming in the background.

"lee sang hwan and kim hyun seok were civilians."the voice revealed their occupations.

you barely even payed attention to it, you tried to drown out the noise. you kept your eyes glued to your black mary janes.

you felt tears pooling in your eyes, as you rapidly tried to blink them away. why were you guys in this situation?

,,you hugged your legs closer to your chest.

everyone sat in silence after what had happened. some were trying to see if their phones worked and others just stayed silent.

you were sat on the stairs next to jung won andyoon seo. jung won was busy trying to check her phone, as was yoon seo. you didn't bother to check.

seeing as no one had said anything you doubted yours would work either.

your thoughts were interrupted by seung bin throwing his phone to the ground.

"fuck. seriously, why is the phone not working?fuck!"he shouted startling some people.

da bum ended up fetching his phone for him.

"what do we do now? won't we die if we stayhere?"choi mi na cried out.

she had a point but, you'd also die if you tried to leave this place...there was no solution.

"the teacher will come soon. let's wait."jun hee said.

"no one's coming. how long do we have to stay with the dead bodies? I don't want to!"ji soo protested.

her boyfriend, yoo joon tried to comfort her.

"don't call them dead bodies."eun ha spoke.

"but they're dead. they're dead, what am I supposed to call them? hey say something. we need to go home!"ji soo cried out.

"hey, please be quiet. you saw what happened to them trying to leave, and you still say that? leave by yourself then."eun chan hit a pillar then spoke.

ji soo and yoo joon took a few steps forward towards eun chan.

"kim somi, do you really not know when theteachers coming back?"yoo joon asked her.

"I don't. he can't be reached, how should I know?"she responded.

after that everyone was silent once more. was there really no way of escaping this place?

you then heard the sound of footsteps going up the stairs, yoon seo had gotten up and walked away.

you and jung won went after her, she was always running off somewhere.

,,the three of you had ended up on the roof.

you were all holding your phones as high as you could to try and get some signal.

your feet hurt from how many times you attempted to stay on your tip toes. you walked around the roof like that with your arm stretched.

"what are you doing?"you heard jun hee ask when he came through the door.

"just in case it worked."yoon seo whispered at him.

you continued to walk around in your odd position.

"what did it say earlier? it said not to leave the area?"yoon seo questioned gripping the railing.

"the game had to be played within the designated area."jung won responded not looking away from her phone.

"what if that area is...defined by that line?"yoon seo pointed at a white line that went around the building.

you stopped to look at what she pointed, it was much clearer from above. she could have a point.

"we heard the announcement when they tried to cross the line."she explained.

"you're right. we can't cross the line."jun hee agreed.

"how far does it go?"mumbles yoon seo.

you took a look bending over the railing a bit, asfar as you could see you couldn't see an end.

yoon seo started walking to the other side of the roof. you all followed after her, once you got to the other side there were even more white lines.

"which one is real?"jung won muttered under her breath.

"maybe we can leave through where the line disconnects. let's go."yoon seo suggested.

all four of you ran off with the new discovery in mind.

,,everyone stood in a half circle looking at a map.

"the mountains are accessible in between the trails. if you keep going there's a village. we just need to go where the people are and ask for help."jun hee explained to everyone pointing at the map.

you recalled the previous experiment you all had conducted. getting close to lines and seeing if you would get the warning. it had eventually led you to a trail in the mountains.

"what if you leave and die like they did earlier? what will you do then?"jin ha asked.

"I know. isn't it too dangerous?"joo young said.

"no it's safe as long as you don't cross the line. I think we can keep walking to the end in between lines."jun hee spoke.

"it sucks to be kept waiting. it won't be a bad idea to try going there. but do we all need to go? it'd be fucking inefficient."kyung jun put in his input.

you were kinda shocked he bothered to participate. though in situations like these it was definitely better to participate.

"you're right. we can't all go, i'll go on my own."jun hee spoke up.

"I'll come with you, then."yoon seo offered.

"no, you should stay here. the trail might be treacherous."he rejected her idea.

"yes, you don't want to slow him down."jung won spoke.

"they're  right, you need to be careful yoon seo."you told her.

considering she had asthma, if she went along that would definitely worry you.

"let's just stay."jung won said.

you nodded your head besides her.

"he can't go alone."yoon seo protested.

"we'll come with you."somi stepped up with woo ram in tow.

"w-why me?"he asked.

"na hee, ji soo...and cha yoo joon, you're coming too, right?"she called out to others and ignored woo ram.

"no. I'm not going."ji soo declined.

"well, I won't go either then."yoo joon spoke.

"don't you have any sense of loyalty?"somi huffed.

"na hee, you're not coming either?"somi asked the girl.

"look at you guys. you're too weak to hike properly, we'll come too."hyun ho spoke as he moved alongside jun hee.

"i-i'll go too."na hee decided.

you saw eun ha step forward but yeon woo stopped her.

"are you going?"he asked her.

"you don't know what'd happen if you go. it's dangerous."eun chan warned her.

"you guys should stay here."eun ha gently broke out of their grasp on her.

you hadn't really considered going, the outdoors was never a strong suit of yours. plus you needed to stick with yoon seo and jung won.

,,some of you has gone to see the group off.

you stood back as you watched yoon seo bid goodbye to jun hee. you waved bye at the others, hopefully their trip would be successful.

"what?"yoon seo looked around spooked.

"huh?"jung won asked.

"hm?"you hummed confused.

"what do you mean?"jung won questioned her.

"didn't one of you call me?"yoon seo said.

"me?I didn't."jung won was just as confused.

"I didn't call you."you responded.

jung won started walking ahead. you followed after her while taking a look back at yoon seo.she still seemed a bit spooked at whatever happened.

"aren't you coming?"jung won shouted at her.

she nodded, still pretty out of it, and started walking after you and jung won.

,,once you returned to the youth center you saw a familiar figure.

they nodded their head at you, signaling for you to come over.

"hey, I have to go to the restroom, you guys go ahead without me!"you came up with an excuse.

"oh okay."yoon seo responded.

jung won just nodded at you.

you quickly walked over to the figure, they made sure they hadn't been seen by yoon seo or jung won.

they'd hid behind a corner, you didn't know what your friends would think if they say you with him.

"what do you need kyung jun...?"you whispered when you rounded the corner.

"just come with me."he spoke as he turned around.

you quietly followed behind him, you hadn't spoken to each other this whole time but now he needed something.

then again, the whole not being seen with each other in public thing was your suggestion...

you knew how much he caused trouble but, it's not like you could ends years worth of friendship over it...or you simply didn't want to.

it was surprising yes, but you were on good terms with nearly everyone in your class. you figured that would pay off a little in this current situation.

after a bit of walking you saw jin ha and seung bin, so this wasn't going to be just you and kyung jun. those two were probably the only people who knew you and kyung jun had been friends for years.

kyung jun had lead you to a snack area.

"what're we doing here...?"you asked.

kyung jun just pulled a whole bunch of keys out of his pocket and bent down. after a bit of fumbling with the keys he lifted open the orange metal.

all four of you walked inside, you're jaw dropped slightly. the hunger was finally catching up to you...

"wow..."you heard jin ha in awe.

"this is amazing."seung bin started picking up snacks.

there was so many amazing snacks, this youth center sure knew its stuff when it came to snacks. still the mafia game part wasn't as cool.

"can I grab some?"you asked kyung jun.

"go ahead, why else would I bring you here."kyung jun spoke as he also grabbed some items.

you sent him a smile and started to grab some ramen and snacks. seung bin helped you prepare your ramen.

you sat down at a table with kyung jun next to you while jin ha and seung bin sat infront of you.

"so what's the catch?"you turned towards kyung jun.

as much as you trusted him, you'd come to learn lots of his 'favors' had a catch to them.

"what's your occupation?"he asked you.

"I'm a civilian."you answered him.

"alright...you won't vote for me since I'm letting you eat."kyung jun explained.

"alright seems fair to me, it's not like i'd vote you anyways."you responded happily stuffing your face with food.

kyung jun just glanced at you before he went back to eating.

you even stuffed your pockets full of snacks so you could take to yoon seo and jung won later. it seemed being friends with kyung jun really pays off.
