Chapter 22

TW***Vandalism and Stalking

It had been almost two weeks since they got back to town. Everything had been going according to plan and was smooth sailing. YN got the tests ran that the previous doctor recommended and was set up with an OBGYN at the local hospital. They also had a doctor who specialized in fetal medicine just so every base was covered. The guys had been super supportive, Jungkook was at every doctor's appointment and Jimin would sometimes tag along if he wanted to get out of the house for a bit. The other guys would take turns making dinner and planning things to do.

Namjoon had been in contact with her mom to take care of the stuff for the apartment to keep that off of YN's plate. The investigation had been completed and they weren't any closer to figuring out who did it or why. The officer in charge had notified him that they could now have the apartment back to do with whatever they wanted. So today, Namjoon planned to have several of the guys go over to the apartment to get it cleaned, repainted, and the furniture replaced so that they could surprise her.

Jungkook had just walked down the stairs when Namjoon got his attention "Hey, can we get some of the guys together to get over to YN's apartment and get it cleaned up?"

"Um sure, honestly I hadn't really thought about the apartment too much. If I'm being honest I don't know if I want her to go back. The past couple of weeks have been great, having her close and waking up with her every day." He told Namjoon.

"I get that, we have all enjoyed having her around. It'll be something to talk to her about later but it's important to still get the apartment cleaned. Even if she doesn't end up going back to it, it'll be better to have it be habitable. Then you guys can discuss your next steps. I've already extended our stay for a few more weeks. Management didn't have anything lined up that needed our immediate attention. So you have some time to bring it up."

"I can live with that. I'll go with you guys, she's just sleeping upstairs. I can have Yoongi and Hobi stay here with her. Yoongi is likely to just go up there and lay down with her so I won't have to worry about her being alone."

"That's settled then, I'll go grab the other guys and we will get going in 15 minutes. Go tell Yoongi and Hobi the plan." Namjoon said as he turned around to go looking for Tae, Jimin, and Jin.

JK went back upstairs and found Hobi listening to some music in the game room as Yoongi played on the gaming console. They both looked over at JK when he walked into the room. "Hey, can you guys do me a favor?"

"Of course, what's up?" Hobi asked him.

"Do you think you can stay here with YN and keep her busy? We are going to go clean the apartment and it's supposed to be a surprise. I also don't want her to be alone." He said.

"We can do that, where is she right now?" Yoongi questioned.

"She's asleep in our room." He replied

"Well, it's nap time for me too then, I'll go keep my kitten company," Yoongi said as he walked off towards her room.

JK simply rolled his eyes at Yoongi and looked back towards Hobi "It's a good thing I know that she loves only me, otherwise I would constantly be worried about Jimin and Yoongi always being around her."

"They look at her as a sister, we all do for that matter. We are all so protective of her. Yoongi is just happy to have a nap partner." Hobi smiled at JK.

"I know, I know she's safe when she's with one of us. I've gotten accustomed to having her close. I was telling Joon that I don't think I want her to leave."

"That makes sense, I mean I wouldn't want the mother of my child out of my sight either."

"I know, I've been seriously considering asking her to come back with me to Korea."

Hobi froze at that statement, "Really, you want her to move there with you?"

"Hobi, I love her, she's going to be the mother of my child. Yes, I want her to come back to Korea with me."

"Does she know that? I mean, this is a huge deal. It's also moving really fast, you guys have only been together for nine weeks now."

"I know, I'm scared to death. The what-ifs are running through my mind all the time. What if she says no to being with me? What if she doesn't want to move to Korea? What's worse is that I don't even know how to bring it up. I don't want her to get too stressed out but we need to talk about it."

"I'm sorry JK, that's a difficult position that you're in. You'll never know unless you try though. She's worth it right?"

"Yeah she is, it all is" he replied "Anyways, Namjoon wants to get going. I'm trusting the two of you with my life there. We will be back later, I'll go first."

Hobi waved him off and went upstairs to check on Yoongi and YN. He peaked his head inside the room and saw the two of them curled up on the bed with YN's head tucked under Yoongi's chin. Yoongi opened an eye and looked at Hobi, pulled her in tighter, and went back to sleep. Hobi shook his head and went downstairs. He knew they would be out for a while, so he settled in to watch a show until they woke up.

Over at YN's apartment was a completely different story. The place was a bigger mess than it had been initially. "What did the police do? Turn everything else over and inside out while they were investigating" Jin said as he looked around the place.

"We have our work cut out for us, that's for sure," Namjoon said.

"Well let's split up, we need to grab some things from the store. Most of her electronics were smashed and it looks like a lot of her favorite books were destroyed. We need to replace those, especially her laptop. Do we know if her hard drive was salvageable?" JK asked

"The police didn't say but Lillie said that YN has external hard drives that have everything backed up to them. So it won't be difficult to restore her stuff." Namjoon replied.

"Ok, Jimin, you know what she likes. Can you take my card and go buy her replacements for most of her stuff. Get her what you think she will love. Don't worry about the computer though, I have some ideas about what I want to get her."

"Sure, I can do that. Come on Tae let's go spend Jungkook's money." Jimin said as he walked out the door with the other man in tow.

"Jin, do you want to get started in the kitchen? Joon if you want to take the living room, I'll start in the bedroom." JK said.

The other men nodded and they set about their work. Shortly after starting JK was pulling all the sheets and blankets off the bed to be tossed out when he saw it. Under the multitude of pillows, the corner of a picture was barely visible. Pulling the photo out, he saw that it was a picture of YN and Mark. He couldn't see her face clearly however because of the slash that was made right through the middle of it.

Concerned he yelled out "Joon, Jin, you guys are going to want to see this."

The two men come rushing into the room and JK holds up the picture. "I don't know why I didn't think of this before. It has to be Mark, he's the one who must have done this."

"JK you can't prove that, it's only a picture. I know you said he was rough with her but do you really think someone would go this far?"

"Joon look," Jin pointed at the photo, "There's a slash mark through only her face. If what JK said was true, he was aggressive and violent with her before. Escalation like this can happen."

"If there's one picture here, there might be more. Just keep your eyes open. I'm going to finish cleaning up in here and pack a few things for YN while I'm at it."

They continued their work and just as JK suspected, it wasn't the only picture. As he was packing a few items, he reached into her underwear drawer and felt the paper. Pulling it out, it was a picture of YN but this time it was a photo that was taken from afar. As he looked at it, something about it seemed familiar. When he looked more closely, he noticed why YN was walking into a store and she was wearing one of his hoodies. He gave it to her after the first concert to take home since she had grown so attached to wearing it at night for bed. So he knew this was fairly recent. If it was Mark, seeing her with another man probably set him off.

JK put the picture with the other one as he finished packing. He had finally finished throwing everything away that needed to be and cleaning up around the room. Completing that task he went into the bathroom and turned on the light. What he saw floored him and he knew that this had to be addressed ASAP. There, written on the mirror in black was a message "You've had your fun, I hope you enjoyed your punishment. I'm coming for you."

He made sure to take pictures as he called the guys into the bathroom. Pointing to the mirror "How does somebody miss this Joon?" He asked.

"JK the crime scene photos didn't show a message written on the mirror or those pictures. I think whoever did this came back once the investigation was done." Namjoon responded as he looked at the message.

"It's Mark, it has to be."

"You still can't prove that Jungkook. Listen to me, leave this to the police. We will show them the pictures and the message ok?" He said as he clapped JK on the back "Let's get back to work. We don't have a lot of time left before Jimin and Tae get back with everything else." Walking away he went back to the living room to finish cleaning up the mess left by repainting.

"I'll prove it was him. I need to keep my family safe." He whispered to himself "And I know who's going to help me." With that, he sent off a text returned to work.
